I'm going finish uploading my story, you all have waited long enough.
Chapter IV: We Battle Through Tartarus
I was very glad that Carter came when I called. I hadn't entirely trusted him when we met but I could tell he was a good guy. But he proved to be a powerful ally. Icky the chimera had nearly killed me. I think she scarred me both mentally and physically. I don't know if I will ever be the same again. Mental problems are something Carter can't fix. Although, he was able to heal me well enough that most of my wounds were mended.
He and Annabeth are very much alike. They came up with a plan to find the Doors of Death. Carter used some sort of path spell and Annabeth was able to find provisions to keep us alive for the day. We follow Carter's spell for an hour when we came across our first monsters. It was a company of dracaenae. I decided the only thing I could do was fight. I ran at them raising Riptide above my head and sliced off the heads of five. They did not disintegrate but at least they were incapacitated. I continued dodging and weaving and slicing until I had gotten through all 15 dracaenae.
"Dang, you demigods know how to fight." Carter remarked. "It's not always that easy." I say. "How much farther to the door?"
"Looks to be about five miles." Carter said, checking something from his spell. Suddenly off to my left I hear roars, "We need to move, now!"
We all take off running with what seems to be about one hundred Cyclops', Telekhines, and other monsters coming from the left trying to cut us off from reaching the Door. We battle as hard as we can, slicing through enemy after enemy but it's not enough. We're still a mile from the Door. I can see it now. It's small, no more than five feet tall, but stationed with numerous guards. Annabeth is fighting her best to my left and Carter is casting spell after spell to my right.
I hear Annabeth cry out. I turn and see her clutch her stomach. She has a deep cut along her abdomen. I put my arm around her torso and continue to run for the Door.
"Come on, Carter!" I shout over the noise of battle, "We have to make it to the door! My friends will be there." He nods and makes a path through the monsters with a glowing fist.
"How do you know, Percy?" Annabeth asks weakly, "How can we even know they made it to the House of Hades?"
"I don't know." I say, "I just have to have faith that our friends won't let us down."
