So, lets continue on shall we?

Austin's View

"Morning," I say as I walk into the kitchen to be met by only Damon.

"I knew you would do it eventually," he said smirking.

"Yeah, yeah, well that's for the help yesterday, you know, with dealing with it."

"Anytime." I nod.

"Stefan or Matt been by?" I ask as I get a drink.

"Nope to both, they probably will later though. My guess is their trying to avoid you and Ally," without realizing I smirk. "Hey, no, smirking is my thing. Don't even try that again." He manages to say with a straight face, that is, of course, until I start laughing and he joins.

"You know, I still can't get my head around Katherine."

"Don't even try. I've tried many a time, it only ends in more confusion."

I smile, after getting the brief notes of Katherine's relationship with the brothers and Damons hunt to find her, which is why he came to mystic falls in the first place, I've decided that I shouldn't try to understand Katherine, I don't want to know how her brain works. "I mean that she looks exactly like Elena, or Elena looks like her, or whatever."

He smiles, "yeah. Well they may look the same, but they defiantly aren't the same."

"I could tell from yesterday."

"And that was her best behaviour."

"And she wants the cure?"

"Yep, but most likely not for herself."

"Have you thought of taking it?" He looks up to me, as if contemplating if he should tell the truth.

"A few months ago, before I knew it existed, I had wanted to be human again, so I could grow old with Elena, give her the life she always wanted," he started, for some reason I feel like I'm the only person he has told this to. "Then I realized I couldn't protect her if I was human. Then, of course, she got turned. We discovered the cure, and I can't say I didn't think about taking it for myself," he swallowed deeply, like it was hard to say, "to live the life I wanted." He looked up at me before continuing, "but I love Elena, I couldn't do that, I couldn't grow old while she looks just as beautiful as she does today, I couldn't watch her ride off in to the sunset with my dearest brother. And I know she would feel like she had to protect me, she would probably die trying, I have gathered up many enemies over the years, she wouldn't be able to beat them all, and Stefan sure as hell wouldn't help her. So I couldn't take it. She refused to take it. And so did everyone else. I think they are all scared it won't work, or they are scared about what might happen." He paused. "You asking because you want Ally to take it?"

"Nope, that's her choice, plus, she can't get hurt if she's a vampire, it makes me feel slightly better if she is one."

"She can still get hurt," he says looking past me, as if the thoughts were running though his head, "maybe not physically, but mentally, she can defiantly get hurt."

We sit in silence.

"You said how you wanted to be human, why did you turn in the first place?" I ask. Damon and I are pretty open with each other, not that I can tell you why, but we have an understanding, we trust each other.

"To put it short, Stefan made me turn." I look at him confused, Stefan never seems to like nor want to be a vampire, why would he make Damon turn. "Like I said, that's to put it short. He wanted us to live together forever. Yeah, didn't really turn out that way…partly my fault." I nod, shortened versions of stuff is how Damon explains pretty much everything to me. It seems a lot of drama and confusion and, well, everything, goes on it this town.

"I'm sorry you didn't get the life you wanted," I say, he nods to me.

"It's fine, if I had chosen differently I would never have met Elena." We smile at each other, the conversation ending just in time as Elena and Ally, my girlfriend, walk in.

"Morning babe," they both say in unison before laughing. Allys laughing gets a bit uncontrollable and turns into too full on crying in my arms.

"Uh, Ally?" I say confused.

"It's the heightened emotions; she should be okay in a minute." Damon says Elena hands him another glass of blood, laying one on the table for Ally to.

Ally suddenly stopped. "Okay, that was strange," she said sitting by me picking up her blood.

"The first few days are the worst, give it a few more days and you'll be fine." Elena says.

"Do you guys think you could teach me how to do all the vampire-y stuff?" Ally asks, then looks to me, "sorry, oh my gosh, sorry Austin, is it too much? I mean, I know it must be hard but-" I kissed her, as I pulled away she smiled.

"It's fine," I say turning back to a smirking Damon and a smiling Elena.

"Okay," she said smiling at me, "so do you think you could?" She asks Elena and Damon.

They both nod, "sure, it's pretty simple when you get use to it," Elena says as Damon hands me a bottle of water and nods.

"That's like the bottle I drank from yesterday, vervain is in it. Don't you trust me?" She says looking as if she's about to cry.

"No, it's not you I don't trust," she grins largely.

"Great!"

I smile, "Are the mood swings going to be that quick?" I ask both Damon and Elena.

"Yep," Damon says nodding.

"So if you trust Ally, I'm presuming you trust me and Damon, Caroline hasn't done anything to you, nor has Stefan, is this about Rebekah?" Elena asks.

"Well, there's her too." Damon says to Elena, "Then, of course, there's you," I give him a confused look. "Hello Katherine. What have we done to deserve seeing you this fine morning?"

I look at Elena/ Katherine's hand. No ring. It's defiantly Katherine.

"Well, I wondered how long I could play the part. You're getting better at telling when it's me not my copy." She said, Damon was clearly getting annoyed while drinking his blood. "Oh calm down. I'm not here for what we discussed yesterday. I want to know where Stefan is."

"Your guess is as good as mine." Damon says.

"What did you do."

"I did nothing. He is simply annoyed that Austin and Ally are together. I'm sure he'll come running into your arms any second now."

"Hmm, another girl gets taken from him, by my second favourite blonde no less, he's defiantly mine now. Just make sure your girlfriend stays away from him Damon, I mean it." Just like that she is gone. As the real Elena walks into the room. I look to Ally who looks super confused.

"Morning," she says grabbing blood and sitting by Damon.

"But-you-not you- huh?" Ally just about manages to say.

"What?" Elena asks, clearly now confused too.

"We had a guest," Damon says drinking the last drop of blood from his glass.

"Katherine." Elena says. "Okay, Ally, Austin-"

"I already explained to Austin yesterday," Damon cuts in.

"Um okay? Uh, Ally, I'm Katherine's doppelganger. Basically, we look exactly the same, we're the same blood line."

"Right, ah okay?" Ally says, trying to understand.

"Yeah, you'll get it at some point," I say to her, squeezing her hand gently.

"So, Elena, I told Ally we would show her the perks to being a vampire today."

"Awesome," she says.

Damon's View

"I'm back," a not so happy Stefan says walking in opening the fridge door to get blood. Oh great, he's trying human blood. This will be a fun day.

"Did the bunny diet suddenly get boring brother?" I ask turning to face him.

"I figured, why not be what a vampire should be, what the best vampires are. A murderer." I give him my raised eye-brow look. "So, I'm going to down this blood bag, maybe a few more, watch the happy couples be all happy, and then I'm ganna go, find some girls, and most likely rip their heads off. So continue, go on, be all happy."

"Ugh, this again." I say under my breath. "So basically, while normal people turn to alcohol to drown their feelings you turn to killing people. Typical rational Stefan." I say rolling my eyes, "come on Stef, put the blood bag down and we can all move on. Plus we just had a guest come looking for you, it was Katherine."

"Well, at least she says she loves me, I can learn to love a person right? I'm ganna go find her." He says leaving the room.

I speed after him, "Stefan, is this seriously about Austin and Ally?" I ask, already knowing the answer.

"She could literally live happily ever after with me, but no, she chose the human that will eventually die of old age and disease. Just like Elena could have had me, but instead she chose you, the murder of the group. Like Caroline is with Tyler, even though my bit won't kill her."

"You're more of a murderer than I am. And at least I know when to stop feeding from a human. You decide to rip them limb from limb instead." I say looking him dead I the eye. "And you turn your humanity off because of a girl you haven't really spoken too."

"You turned your humanity off over Katherine."

I smirk, "wrong again brother. I think you'll find I turned my humanity off over an experience, nothing to do with a girl. More to do with losing a friend."

"You can't stop me." He says, clearly understanding I won the battle.

"Maybe not, but Katherine will, or Caroline, either one." I say before walking away, "have fun with that pesky little switch Stefan. It can cause oh so many problems."

"Oh and Stefan," I say before turning back to face my brother, "Caroline is about two seconds away, Katherine one. I would run if I were you." I turn back and head to the kitchen.

"Well, Caroline and Katherine are on the case. He has flipped the switch so it will most likely take both of them to put some sense into him," I say sitting back down.

"Well today is off to a good start," Elena says looking at her glass.

"Just another typical morning in Mystic Falls," Austin says laughing slightly, earning a glare from Ally, a smile from Elena –which she is trying to hide- and a laugh and nod from me.

Who knows what it is about this guy that makes me like him so much. Maybe he reminds me a little bit of me, admittedly not as good looking, but there is something about this guy. I've told him stuff I haven't told anyone, not even Elena, what makes me trust him? I honestly have no clue. But, we have an understanding between us; we don't repeat what the other has said to anyone else, we let each other rant on and on, and if the other is being an idiot we tell him so. It works, no idea why, but it does.

"So, who's ready for some vamp training?" Elena says, sounding a bit excited, a smile grows across Ally's face, as I see slight worry over Austin's, I give him a reassuring nod.

A/N- Okay, so i know there wasn't much Auslly in it, but I really didn't want them to be the mine bit in this chapter.

And no, I don't hate Stefan. But i thought it would be a fun mini story line, to have Katherine and Caroline working to get him to see sense again.

But hey, look at Damon and Austin! They're getting along great! I thought it would be quite nice for Damon to have a friend in Austin, he can open up to him and Damon can help Ausin with the whole Ally vampire thing.
