Damon's View
"Austin, are you one hundred percent sure you want to do this?" Ally asks him he smiles, she looks like she's about to go into full on panic mode, and he actually looks relaxed, which is strange.
"I'll do anything for you Ally," he says she kisses him. Nice to see that being a vampire makes her more confident with kissing in public, I give her credit for that. I love doing too much PDA with Elena and others look over with horrified faces, it's fun.
"Okay well, you probably shouldn't use Ally's blood," I look to Elena, "we don't need a repeat of that."
"Why can't he? What happened before?" Ally questions.
"Long story, we'll tell you another time," Elena says, "here Austin," she bites her wrist, "drink."
He doesn't even hesitate, not even for a thousandth of a second. He just takes her wrists and drags it into his mouth, that's new. It's like he isn't even scared. He lets her wrist go, we all look at him, Ally looking slightly worried, Elena looking slightly surprised, and then me looking excited.
"So Austin, how'd you want to die?" I say rubbing my hands. Ally looks to be shocked and Elena stars at me with a disapproving look.
"Damon you can't just say that," Elena says to me, I shrug.
"Come on, you only die human once, might as well make it interesting, I was shot by my father, you drowned, so Austin how would you like to go?"
"Just break my neck? Boring I know, but I've always wondered what it's like."
"Okay, breaking neck it is," I face Elena then use vampire speed to run to Austin and break his neck.
"Damon! You didn't warn him! You just killed him!" Ally shouts running next to him.
"Ally, if I would have counted down he would have panicked and yes I killed him, so now he can live forever."
She nods, "okay, yeah you're right." She sighs and steps away, "could we take him downstairs? I want him to be comfy." I sigh and pick him up walking out of the room, teenagers, 'I want him to be comfy when he comes back to life.'
Everyone is some where around the house, leaving me and Moon sitting by the fire together, him still being dead.
"Ugh," a noise comes from where he is sleeping.
"Morning sleeping beauty," I say with a smirk.
"Very funny," he says rubbing his neck. "So it worked?"
"Seems so, now let's get you some blood, come with me."
I lead him down to the fridge in the basement, "okay for all your blood needs, every type of blood is here, you'll have a favourite, but just try them all first."
"Thanks," he says picking up a blood bag.
"You okay?" I ask, he seems quieter than normal.
"Yeah, I just thought I would feel different is all."
"It's not that different, you don't really notice it. But now you have all these abilities," I say pointing up stairs. "Focus, focus on Ally and Elena's voices."
"Isn't that eavesdropping?"
"This is for the sake of training. It doesn't count, go on, try." He gives me an uncertain looks but then does it anyway.
"So Rebekah wants the cure?"
"Yep."
"Well if none of you want it then why not just give it to her?"
"Exactly what I was thinking," a new voice says, or rather Rebekah's voice, Austin's face looks full of confusion.
"Rebekah."
"You're the one that killed me?"
"That's me. But hey now you and that pretty little boyfriend of yours can be together forever."
"Why do you want the cure? I've been a vampire for about a day, I never want to go back."
"Exactly only a day or two. I have lived for thousands of years. I have watched as my family has been torn apart thanks to my brother, Klaus. I have watched the world change. I have had a dagger placed in my heart more times than I can remember, also thanks to the brother of mine. I just want a normal life, a life where I can grow old with someone, have kids, the life I have always wanted, the life I have only dreamt of."
"Then why did you want to be turned?"
"I didn't want to. I'm part of the original family of vampires. We were forced, we didn't know what was happening. Even one of my other brothers, Elijah, dreams to be human again. But he won't do it. He hopes to much for our family to be perfect again . He will never leave Klaus' side. Have you told this girl nothing of us?"
"Gimme a break, we only trained her up today."
"Ridiculous. But a trip through my family history is not why I came. I want the cure."
"Well you aren't having it."
"Why? Are you already feeling bad for making your boyfriend turn?"
"I didn't make him do anything."
"I heard him and Damon talking yesterday. He had always imagined you two growing old and having kids. He told you how he would do anything for you. He gave up his life to be with you forever. He'll resent you, eventually. Just like Damon does Katherine."
"Okay, that's our que," I say before graving Austin and using Vampire speed to join the girls. "I don't resent Kathrine, in the end it wasn't completely because of her I turned. My brother forced me,"
"Your guys lives are messed up." Austin says from next to me.
"Maybe so, but you would have turned for her, you were going to. And you had her system in your blood ready to be turned, you hate her for that, you hated being a vampire for years."
"Well now I'm happy that I had her blood because otherwise I would never had met Elena, and we wouldn't be able to love together forever."
"Cheesy much?" Elena says giggling slightly.
"Shut up," I say back.
"Just give me the cure and I'll be on my way."
"Why aren't we giving it to her again?" Austin asks, I roll my eyes.
"You're new, you don't understand yet. But in short terms, never give in to an original, and never ever trust one."
"Oh I do hope that doesn't go for all of our family. Hello, I don't believe we've met, I'm Elijah." He says stepping into the room looking between Austin and Ally.
"Great it's like a mini reunion," I say rolling my eyes again.
"Can't have a reunion with out all the living family members though can you?" Klaus says joining us too.
I give a forced half smile, "well I did say mini," I say turning around to face the him.
"Well, nice to see you all again." He pulls out a seat and sits down.
"My apologies, may we sit?" Elijah says being the 'good guy' that he is.
"Go ahead," I say drinking more blood.
"Two newbies, my, you lot have been busy."
"Actually brother in responsible for the girl, then he turned for her." Rebekah says."What are you two doing here anyway? I thought you didn't want the cure Elijah? And well Klaus, you would never give up being the original hybrid."
"Correct. I am however still here for the cure. I feel we can not let just anybody look after it, or use it. We have no idea what it does." Elijah says.
"Well it's called the cure for a reason Elijah. It takes away the vampire side." Rebekah says, sitting down with he brothers.
"And then what exactly, do you age at a normal rate, or do all the years if cheating death finally catch up? Using the cure would be stupid without knowing such facts. I'm here to take the cure, I believe I will look after it a lot better than any of you."
"Why would we trust you with it?" I say.
"You have my word that I, nor anyone , will use the cure."
"Your word? I don't know guys he sounds pretty trustworthy." Ally puts in.
"You just like his looks," Austin says, now is so not the time for heightened emotions.
"Austin-" oh and now Ally's heightened ones too, I hate newbies.
Klaus places a hand in both their shoulders, "now, now, simmer down children, no need for fights, keep your emotions in check." That's a positive to having originals in the house. "Newbie vampires, always such a hassle."
"So why is it you want the cure big bad hybrid?"
Klaus smirks, "well I just thought I would join the bidding war. Besides, having the cure in my side, that's only a plus."
"If neither of you want it for yourselves then just let me have it." Rebekah says.
"We are not aware of the dangers Rebekah," Elijah says, "it is too much of a risk."
"Well it's my risk to take."
"Oh calm down Rebekah, you aren't having the cure. Move on, we are a family of vampires, always and forever." Klaus says.
"As truly lovely as it is to see you all argue about who gets the cure, there is absolutely no point to your arguments," I say, now fed up with the whole thing. "Non of you are getting the cure, it's ours, we'll decide what to do with it."
"And that decision will be to give it to me." Rebekah says.
Her and Klaus vampire speed out, leaving only Elijah with us.
"Must I remind you, we are originals, one of us is stronger than all of you put together. What is there to stop us from simply taking it?" Elijah says, slowly turning a glass around in circular motions.
"That you don't know where it is." I say looking back at him.
"And if you were to steal it Elijah you know it will tear your family apart, maybe not Klaus so much, but Rebekah, unless you give it to her, will never forgive you for taking away her last chance at the life she has always wanted."
"It is not needed for me to hear about the way my family is from you Elena. I know exactly what will happen when I get the cure and do not allow Rebekah it. But you of all people Damon must understand why I will not allow her to have it. All the ideas you have gone over in your head, reasons why Elena should not take it, reasons why you should not take it. The risk is far to big. I will not lose any of my loved ones to a cure that we don't know the effects of." Elijah says, finally looking up. We all stay silent. "Do not think for one minute that I won't get my hands on that cure. Goodnight." He vampire speeds out.
Later At Night
Damon's bedroom
"You thought about taking the cure?" Elena says, I sigh as we get into bed.
"Of course I did. More so before we knew that it existed."
"What do you mean?"
I wrap my arms around her, "I never wanted to be a vampire Elena, not really, I only had the blood because I thought I loved Katherine. I was going to let myself die." She looks up at me, sad. "I'm glad I didn't," I squeeze her gently, "but, while you were still human, I, I, told a stranger how much I wanted to be human again, how much I wanted that life back, the Han life, where you have no option but to feel, where there is no easy way out. I thought about us growing old and having kids because that the life you wanted, and our kids would be hot," I say with a smirk, she laughs slightly. "I longed for that life." I sigh. "But now you're a vampire, I wouldn't want to grow old while you still look exactly the same. I wouldn't be able to protect you, I wouldn't be able to love you forever. And when I found out there was a cure, I wanted to get it, but not for me, but for you, or even Stefan. Just so one of you could have the life you'd always dreamt of." She cuddles more into my side.
"I love you so much Damon." She says kissing my chest.
"I love you too."
