Science was their next class but the first class they shared together, Eridan was excited as they managed to get to the classroom before anyone else. Science was Eridans favourite subject, at his previous school he had planned to take year twelve biology when he got to year twelve. Science was something he understood something that merely explains how something works, the simple interesting facts.

"thomeoneth happy." Sollux smirked out as he pushed open the door to the clean white science room and Eridan realised he had been grinning and glanced away.

"Sorry" Eridan mumbled as he glanced anywhere but where Sollux was taking a seat, the classroom did look much cleaner than the rest of the school and had various posters and charts. The centre of the room was lined with rows of tables where Sollux had taken a seat at the front. The outer walls were lined with taller benches with fewer chairs, this was obviously where the practical experiments were held. The teacher's desk was well set up and a door to a store room could be seen behind the desk, that had to be where the chemicals and equipment where.

"I'm gueththing you like thcience?" Sollux questioned as he unpacked his laptop and waited for it to load, Eridan practically span on his feet.

"W-well yeah." Eridan responded nervously before glancing at the chair by Sollux then at a chair two seats away, he didn't know if Sollux wanted him to sit next to him. Sollux merely shrugged and started to frantically type away at his computer, Eridan was impressed and also fearful that the keys on the small laptop would fly off at any minute.

"Are you going to take a theat or—"

"Oh yeah, may I?" Eridan took this opportunity to shuffle in beside Sollux, removing his bag as the room filled with the sounds of the bell. Eridan grabbed out his notepad and his old notepad he had decided to bring from his old school along with his pens and prepared his desk.

"Hello class—and there is only two of you." The man sighed and Eridan glanced over his shoulder inspecting the man. He had thick glasses like Eridan though his face was much sharper and his blue eyes were much lighter and looked almost fake. He wore a nice purple dress shirt that was hidden under a lab coat that only had the third button done up. Eridan smiled at the blonde as he entered the classroom with his hands full and stumbled towards his desk before setting down the miscellaneous items he had brought to class.

"Nice to see you again Sollux and… I'm certain I haven't seen you before?" The teacher questioned, Sollux didn't respond to his greeting as Eridan smiled.

"I'm Eridan Ampora, I'm new-w here sir." Eridan introduced himself formally as the teacher took a seat at his desk and began to organise his nick-nacks and papers.

"Eridan nice to meet you I am Mr Dorson." He smiled out as he began to shuffle through his bag before getting out his whiteboard markers and writing his name on the board. This is when students started to flood in, the chatter following with them. Eridan noticed how the seats began to fill up from the back of the room to the front, as if no one wanted to sit near the front of the classroom.

"Okay sit down, it's time for everyone's favourite subject" he teased as the kids ignored him and continued to chatter amongst each other. Mr Dorson just sighed as he began to write on the board. Eridan got his pen ready as he read the words "Holiday Homework" and froze, he hadn't done anything.

"So I'm guessing no one did the holiday homework?" The teacher spurted out as the kids didn't even listen, he sighed as Eridan watched.

"Okay fine just be ready for next class, holiday homework was to learn at least the first twenty elements on the periodic table, in case you actually want to learn?" His voice was masked by the kids however Eridan perked up and smiled.

"Sir" Eridan raised his hand slightly, Mr Dorson turned with a raised eyebrow and a smile as he walked around his desk and stood in front of Eridan, he was really tall.

"Don't worry about the homework, Eridan?" He questioned the name and Eridan nodded.

"But sir I know the first thirty elements." Eridan answered making the teacher raise his eyebrows with a smile.

"Really? Well then why don't you recite them?" The teacher smirked doubting Eridan, though he wasn't lying.

"Okay, uh… Hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, neon…" Eridan continued, listening as the class fell almost silent as he reached the last of his knowledge.

"Nickel, copper and zinc." He cleared his throat after he had finished as the teacher stared in almost disbelief, Eridan noticed that Sollux had stopped typing and was currently glancing over at Eridan.

"Oh well I suppose you do, well done…" The class returned to their chatter after the teacher's comment and Sollux's typing returned to its un-natural pace. Eridan didn't know whether to be happy or sad at the moment, as the teacher took a seat behind the desk once more with a small grin. Eridan figured he wouldn't be doing any work in this class either, due to the teacher previous comments so he decided reading through his science notes from last year would be the perfect pass time.

And pass time it did, as he reached his notes about the big bang theory the chatter began to dim as he glanced up at the wall behind the teacher and noticed it was almost lunch time. Eridan believed it was always good to read over his notes and it was enjoyable, nothing beat refreshing his memory of reliable science. Amongst the pack up chatter Eridan noticed that Sollux had closed his laptop and was slipping it into his bag carefully before giving Eridan a glance with a small snicker.

"Are you reading your thcience noteth from latht year?" Eridan closed them over with a nod towards Sollux before reaching up and under his glasses to wipe his tiring eyes.

"I like science, it makes sense." Eridan mumbled, grabbing all his belongings off the desk and slipping them into his bag.

"theriouthly? I alwayth thought it wath boring." Sollux admitted as he stretched, Eridan lowered his head slightly, science was all he was good at.

"Hey, I didn't mean to insult you, if you like thcience good for you." Eridan grabbed his bag and swung it over his shoulder as he stood with a little nod.

"Wow no need to be tho fragile." Sollux smirked, joining Eridan.

"W-what I'm fine." Eridan brushed off, the school bell breaking the silence between the boys as they departed the science room. Once again Sollux took off down the hallways, dodging everyone with Eridan struggling slightly to keep up. Soon enough he reached the cafeteria though, however when Sollux turned around to lean against the same wall as before he paused and quickly pulled Eridan aside.

"Go get your lunch, meet me at the corner." Was all Sollux said before turning and weaving through the crowd faster and slicker than before. It was weird being alone, he felt vulnerable but he would be back with Sollux soon. So he quietly made his way to the glass cabinets and glanced at the food, soon pointing to the nacho's and paying for them. However when he turned around he noticed the crowd that had been approaching had faded and three girls stuck out the most.

The long haired girl from the other day, Aradia, was approaching. She was in the uniform however wore the ugly green patterned skirt that fell under the girls uniform. She wore black tights under the skirt and a few black and red bangles on her wrists, and looking closer at her face she was wearing red lipstick. She was holding two bags that looked mildly heavy but the second his blue eyes locked with hers, she glanced away.

The other girl from the other day, Terezi, Red glasses, a devilish smirk plastered to her face as she sucked on a lollipop. She wore the school uniform however she wore no skirt, instead she wore the pants. She held a cane in her hand though she didn't seem to be completely blind, due to her actions the other day.

And finally a new girl he was yet to meet. She had long dark brown curly hair that fell at her hips, and wore a yellow headband to keep the hair out of her eyes. Which were a light green that stood out and looked bigger thanks to the pink make-up around her eyes. She too wore the uniform however her shirt was un buttoned down three buttons to reveal her pink undershirt and her skirt was riding a tad too high. She had pink and gold bangles on her wrists that jingled as she walked and a pleasant pink nail job, white socks that reached her knees and pink shoes that were defiantly not uniform but completed her look.

"Oh wow who is this!" The girl spoke in excitement as the group approached Eridan, she sounded really excited to meet him.

"That's Eridan Ampora, his new here." Aradia mumbled, adjusting the bags on her shoulder, Eridan guessed one of them belonged to Feferi.

"Cutie! His so dorky, though he needs somefin…" She glanced over his character for a moment before chuckling, Eridan rose an eyebrow, he thought he looked quiet "not dorky".

"You should put a scarf on, it whale suit you better, not to mention complement your cheeks." She looked to be in thought as Eridan nodded; he already knew that, he understood fashion.

"I heard he was hanging out with Captor." Terezi grinned out, taking the lollipop out of her mouth so she could grin wider. Feferi gasped before shaking her head, keeping a smile on her features.

"Naw sweetie you can do so much better, your too cute for him, just like me!" she chuckled, though Eridan frowned. He knew what kind of girl Feferi was, the "cool" kinda girls that thought everyone had to worship her, he hated that. Though she was really pretty and her grin made his stomach twist, he could be wrong about her.

"Anyway it's lunch time and I don't want my table being taken, I'll catch you later Eridan, wear a scarf tomorrow!" she called as she walked past him, a sweet smell wafted into his nose, she smelt amazing.

Before he could answer the girls strutted past him and went to pick up their lunches, leaving Eridan to turn around and watch them. Though he shook his head before he began down the multiple hallways, that would lead to the corner. Despite Feferi's happy go lucky attitude towards him she had somewhat insulted Sollux. What did she even mean by "you can do better?" Sollux may be an asshole at times but Eridan felt like they were making a nice friendship.

After a few close encounters with other students Eridan found himself opening the fire escape door to find Sollux laying completely over the chair, in which the sun's rays had hit. He approached cautiously with a grin as Sollux had a hand slipped under his glasses and over his face and looked to be enjoying himself.

"W-want a nacho Sol?" Eridan smirked as Sollux removed his hand from his face and glanced over at Eridan for a long moment before adjusting his glasses and sitting up. Eridan took the seat with a grin as he picked at his nachos, offering them to Sollux; they didn't taste as good as they looked. The boys sat in the sun in silence before Eridan spoke up.

"I have a question for you Sollux. Why do you always wear your glasses" Sollux gave Eridan a glance, placing another nacho into his mouth, waiting until he finished before answering.

"To cover my eyeth, duh." Sollux smirked as he began to fiddle with his phone, Eridan looked unimpressed but didn't want to push Sollux.

"It'th becauthe I have Heterochromia iridium, ath you have theen."

"Heteroch-ch-ro."

"Two different coloured eyeth." Sollux cut Eridans stutter off, Eridan nodded slightly embarrassed for stuttering.

"I wear the glaththeth to cover my eyeth, becauthe people thtare at me, like I'm even more of a freak." Sollux didn't look at Eridan as he spoke, Eridan seemed surprised.

"But your eyes are amazing! And you're not ev-ven a freak Sollux." Sollux continued to play on his phone refusing to glance at Eridan. Eridan bit his lip; he felt as if he had stumbled on a sensitive topic and wanted to change the subject.

"Oh and I talked to some girls at the cafeteria w-when you left." Eridan grinned, though Sollux's mood only seemed to be falling as he scooted more away from Eridan on the chair.

"Feferi said that I should w-wear a scaf to sc-"

"You spoke to FF?" Sollux's voice was flat, and Eridan wasn't sure if he was mad at him or happy.

"Yeah w-when I w-wa—"

"Did she talk about me?" Sollux's tone was now obvious, he was getting annoyed, did he not like Feferi?

"She didn't say nothing big just that "I could do better"." Eridan didn't want to lie to Sollux and was surprised when he chuckled.

"That'th tho true." He smirked out, Eridan however caught onto to the nerves in Sollux's voice and was getting slightly worried about him.

"Sollux, are you okay?"

"I'm fine Eridan, me and FF jutht don't get along ith all." Sollux admitted, Eridan was somewhat surprised, did everyone at this school hate Sollux? Eridan didn't want to ask about it and had a feeling that he would figure it out sooner or later, as it seems gossip travels fast in this school. So he finished off his nachos and instead of getting out his phone he ditched his bag and decided that leaning against the wall and let the warmth of the sun seep in. The silence between the two males wasn't awkward, it was pleasant.

Too soon the bell rang and Sollux lead Eridan towards his next class, which was English. This was another class they shared together, although they also shared this classroom with a few others he had run into. As he entered the classroom and followed Sollux to the back of the room a few other people were there to greet him.

The boy in the wheelchair, Tavros, was there sketching in his book what looked to be some kind of mystical bull-fairy. His uniform was buttoned up and similar to how Eridan wore his. Tavros's hair was spiked up in a neat Mohawk but still looked extremely soft, as he looked up at Eridan and Sollux with a smile.

"uH hey!" Tavros smiled as Sollux walked past, giving the male in a wheel chair a hi-five before slinking around him and heading to one of the two spare seats.

"Hello tavros" Eridan greeted trying to sound nice,

"Hey Eridan, are you feeling better? Sollux hasn't mentioned how you were going." Eridan was quite surprised that the boy even cared after all this time, especially about something as stupid as being pushed in the mud.

"I'm fine, thank you for helping me."

"It's no problem really, uH, are you enjoying yourself at Alternia high?" Eridan had to hold back his laughter, his first day at this school had been an odd mixture of enjoyment and pain.

"It's been fine, a little bumpy, but fine."

"That's great, it's also good to see Sollux with a friend, he doesn't sit with us anymore." Tavros seemed upset at that fact and Eridan was slightly curious. If Sollux had a place for him in another group then why did he sit all alone in a corner, it seemed kind of lonely?

"Hey it's my muddy bro! how you been?" Eridan peered over at the boy beside Tavros and recognised him as Gamzee.

"I'm good."

"Having a sick ass time in this home of the learning?" Eridan had to think for a moment before realising what the other male had said.

"Yeah It's fine, Also I have the clothes you lent me, I cleaned them and ironed them." Eridan nodded. Last week Cronus had taken him down to the creepy Laundry mat on the third floor and shown him how to wash his clothes. He assumed that he would have to clean his own clothes and had taken the time to wash Gamzees clothes when he was there.

"it all chill bro I don't mind you can keep it, my rents didn't even mind." Gamzee explained before glancing away with a smile, as if he had suddenly forgot what he was doing and needed to stare at something.

"okay… thanks…" Eridan decided that now would be a good time to slip past the other male as he descended towards the spare seat between Sollux and another familiar face. It was Karkat the angry boy that Sollux had been hanging out with. He wore the uniform under his black and red hood and was definitely not wearing the school shoes, instead a pair of red converse.

Eridan didn't speak to him as he took the open seat between the wall and Sollux, grabbing his stuff out of his bag and placing it on the table. Eridan thought it seemed odd that the teacher had not arrived yet as he grabbed out his writing book, noticing Sollux once again franticly typing away at his keyboard again. He was tempted to have a glance at what exactly Sollux was doing but decided against it, he didn't want to be rude.

"Alright, we all know you shits aren't going to do any work, just don't speak to loud I got a headache." Eridan glance up at the booming voice. The man had black scruffy hair, red coat and a last minute black and white combo thrown together underneath. It was very rude to address your students as "shits" and Eridan didn't like his attitude, but at least he had another hour to do nothing. So once again he withdrew his pen and flipped it open to another clean page and began to sketch.

However he could only ignore Karkat's chuckling and loud swearing for so long, he was so loud, even if he didn't mean it. Eridan had heard every last word the boy had said since sitting down and boy did he share some weird conversations with Gamzee. First it was just general, "hey how you doing?" then twisted to more along the lines of "Hey WHO are you doing. Eridan was so confused, most of them were only fourteen they shouldn't even be thinking about THAT kind of stuff.

However his ears perked up at the mention of Sollux.

"So Sollux, broke anymore hearts lately, or are you into cock now." Karkat chuckled, however Sollux didn't respond, his typing speed didn't cease or even hesitate.

"Naw sensitive subject asshole?" Karkat smirked, Eridan couldn't believe that Sollux considered Karkat as his friend.

"How about you athk Eridan about hith love life, he wath talking with FF" A stab of betrayal stung Eridan as Sollux passed the attention to him.

"Oh yeah I forgot that this fucking nerd was here." Karkat leant forward on his desk so he could get a better glance at Eridan.

"Into the Feferi are we?" Karkats shit-eating grin grew wider as he glanced between Eridan and Sollux, awaiting a reaction from either.

"Not really I hav-ve only spoken to her once." Karkat took this opportunity to roll his eyes.

"Bitch please I know that when she walked past you in the Cafeteria you looked back at her longingly." Eridan's eyebrows knotted together in confusion. He wasn't sure if he was mad about that shitty evidence or creeped out knowing Karkat knew that.

"That doesn't mean anything, I w-was just shocked."

"HAHA Sollux this is amazing your new fucking hipster friend likes your sloppy seconds." Sollux stopped typing for a moment before sighing.

"I didn't date FF okay? tho let'th drop it." Sollux sounded serious as Karkat chuckled again, before, as if the conversation hadn't even taken place he turned back around to Gamzee and Tavros and began to talk about something completely irrelevant.

Eridan didn't want to question what had just occurred and simply shook his head and returned to his book, deciding to take a shot at drawing the person in front of him. Listening to Sollux's hardcore typing and the booming sound of his headphones playing something dubstep, he really wished he had work to do.

Once again as he was adding the final touches to his alright master piece when everyone around him began to pack up, including Sollux. He waited at least three more minutes before packing up himself, knowing that the classes around here packed up five minutes before it was actually time to leave class. As he predicted the bell was two minutes away, grinning to himself he glanced over at the other boys. They all stood in a somewhat circle and seemed to be discussing some kind of plans, something about the skate park.

Eridan didn't want to intrude instead he fiddled with his bag strap, trying not to avert his eyes to the group. As the bell rang the group did not leave instead they waited for the other students before descending, and Eridan decided it was best to let them go. Who was he kidding, despite how much he hung out with Sollux, Sollux still had other friends. He wasn't surprised when the group left the room and he was left alone in the now empty room.

Luckily enough he knew the way to the front of the school as he quickly weaved through out the crowds. He thought about texting Sollux as he escaped the crowd and headed to the front gates, but thought against it. He didn't want to be a bother to him any longer than he had to, had he been a bother to Sollux all day?

He sighed as he walked towards the place were Cronus had dropped him off, however Cronus was not there. Eridan figured this would happen but he didn't care, instead moved off to the side and began to wait. He clicked to attention when loud revs filled his ears; he waited for the revs to pass however they merely stayed causing Eridan to look up.

Cronus was sitting on a slick black motorbike, the only reason Eridan could tell it was him was because of the leather jacket draped over his shoulders. The matching black helmet was taken off to reveal Cronus's still perfectly styled hair as he gave Eridan a nod.

"Get on" Eridan froze as he assessed the situation, there was no way he was getting on that bike.

"B-b-but my b-b-bag I w-w-w-will w-walk…" Eridans stutter stopped him from sounding assertive and Cronus chuckled.

"There's a holster, clip it in and let's go." Cronus sounded more assertive this time and Eridan gulped and approached the back of the bike where a second helmet was clipped in. He unclipped it and placing his bag in its place, being sure to lock it in and nervously placed the helmet over his head. Cronus moved forward to let Eridan have some room to sit on the back, Eridan gulped as he hoisted his leg over the back of the bike.

"Hold onto me kid" Eridan could picture the smirk on Cronus's face as he revved the motor bike loudly before taking off, causing Eridan to vice grip around Cronus's thick torso.

Since when did Cronus even drive a motor bike?!
