A/N: You almost have to feel sorry for everyone involved with the plan… well except for Yuuta. It looks like he is safe, for now. I guess it helps that one of the sadists is his brother. LOL. School abroad might be good for the others though. Haha. Thank you to vegibee, Kurayami-9, bloodydarkangel, and lemon-and-chai for the reviews. I hope everyone enjoys the new chapter!

Chapter 13 – Working Together

Yuuta sat in the waiting room of the closest hospital with his brother. There was no way he could get away and make a run for it, but he also contemplated the fact that standing next to his elder sibling might be a lifesaving move at the moment.

When they had arrived at the hospital and Sanada had been called back, Yukimura stepped forward to go with the stoic fukubuchou and no one argued; however, no one was sure what this meant. Yes, he had confessed, albeit reluctantly, while in the room, but nothing had been said after that since the bluenette threatened Atobe and they had been set free. Everyone knew Yukimura's feelings for his friend, otherwise this whole charade would not have been set up, and they all really hoped that the admittance of feelings would be the first step to something more… at least it better since he dated Tezuka to make Sanada jealous.

The other problem couple, the other reason for the whole manipulating plan, was sitting out in the waiting room on opposite sides from each other and Yuuta kind of felt like he was in the middle because he was sitting closer to Tezuka than his brother; and other then them, the room was a ghost town. Clearing his throat, the younger sibling tried to get the conversation flowing, "Oi, Aniki, now that you and Sanada have broken up, are you alright? What are you going to do? Are you going to start dating Tezuka?" He had never been one for subtlety.

Opening his eyes wide, Fuji glanced at his brother, "What makes you think all that?"

"Well, I saw on the monitors and heard…" Yuuta began and then gulped at the murderous gleam that appeared in his brother's blue eyes, "Ah well…"

"Monitors? What monitors? You heard what? How did you even get involved with them?" Fuji questioned.

The younger brother felt like he had trapped himself and he wasn't sure how to get out of it without setting off a minefield, "Ah, well aniki…"

"Fuji!" Tezuka pinched the bridge of his nose. He wasn't sure what he was telling the other teen to do, but right now he felt anxious and Yuuta's questions had just made him that much more so.

Turning his gaze onto the bespectacled teen, he tilted his head to the side. His smile increased, but his eyes narrowed (this was an "if you take that attitude with me, I might cut you and I don't care what my feelings are towards you" look), "Yes, Tezuka?"

The former buchou did not show any outward change in his countenance, but inwardly he was regretting his tone. Fuji was still the one person (well maybe Yukimura as well) he never wanted to cross, and it wasn't the feelings he had for the blue eyed tensai, it was the fact he didn't want to be murdered in his sleep. Quickly forming a response in his head, he said, "I'm sure Yuuta will explain if we give him a moment." He sent a silent prayer to the heavens that that would be enough to placate the sadist. Shifting his gaze towards the younger Fuji, he asked, "What do you know?"

His eyes were darting back between his brother and the stoic man from Seigaku. Yuuta had never felt so nervous in his life, not even when he played his brother on the tennis courts or faced Echizen. No, right now, he felt like he was caught on the precipice of a tall mountain and one wrong move (or word) would send him toppling over the edge, "Ah, um… we, I mean they thought they were helping you, and so they came up with a plan to attempt to get everyone with the person they wanted to be with most." He started and felt like he was driving a knife into the backs of the other participants, "When they asked me to help, I agreed that I thought you had stronger feelings for someone other than Sanada."

"Saa they coerced you," Fuji declared.

"Aniki…" Yuuta groaned and rubbed the back of his neck, "I wanted to help because I know how much you… never mind." He stopped that train of thought when he saw the blazing gaze his brother gave him. Clearing his throat once again, he began, "The room had hidden cameras and microphones so that we could see and hear everything you were doing and planning. That is how we knew you were going to attempt to escape and why Sanada and Yukimura were shoved into the room like they were."

Tezuka sighed and pushed up his glasses, "So Atobe set up the room especially for today. When did everyone plan this?"

"Yesterday," Yuuta looked a bit sheepish, "So I don't know if he set it up for today, but I guess he could have. He has the resources."

"Ne Yuuta, who were the people that organized everything?" Fuji inquired. He wanted to know, and if he let the information slip to Yukimura, it wasn't his fault. He would blame it on being trapped in a small room for too long… even if the room in question had been at least ten times the size of his bedroom at home.

"I am willing to guess that it was the two data collectors: Yanagi and Inui," a soft voice proclaimed from the waiting room entrance. Yukimura walked into the room smiling with Sanada at his side, "Don't be too alarmed Fuji, you only gave him a minor concussion."

Standing up, Fuji crossed his arms over his chest and his smile grew bigger, "It wasn't my fault. I was trying to escape, but if you want to blame someone blame your friend and Atobe."

"Wasn't your friend a part of this… and if I remember correctly, so was your brother," the bluenette's own grin increased as he took a step closer.

"Yuuta isn't a part of this. If we are going to place blame on anyone, we need to put it on the ringleaders," Fuji insisted.

The back and forth continued as three spectators watched everything with a cold chill of dread covering them, and the temperature in the room dropped at least 30 degrees making it arctic in the small room. All three wanted to step in, but no one wanted to be killed or at the bare minimum maimed for getting in the middle of two sadists. However, that being said, after another twenty minutes of back and forth, Tezuka and Sanada finally took matters into their own hands… after they burned some incense, said their prayers, and handed Yuuta their wills.

Sanada grabbed Yukimura and pulled him back away from Fuji, while Tezuka grabbed Fuji and did the same thing to him. Now, the raven haired fukubuchou knew better than to torundoru the bluenette, but that didn't mean he wasn't tempted; and the former Seigaku buchou was tempted to assign 100 laps to the tensai, but he knew it wouldn't be a good idea.

The two sadists turned towards the people that had interfered and glared at them. How they were both able to put the fear of God in both stoic teens with a large smile on their face, no one would ever know, but they could do it.

"Saa Tezuka, I think you need to let go," Fuji snickered.

Nodding in agreement, Yukimura giggled, "Yes, Genichiro, you need to let go as well."

Glancing at each other, they nodded before locking eyes with the sadists they had next to them. Tezuka was the one that spoke, "Instead of fighting each other about who is to blame, why don't you team up." He couldn't believe he was suggesting that and suddenly felt sorry for any tennis player involved in today's capture.

"Yes, if you team up, you can both work together to get the people involved," Sanada suggested. He felt the same way as Tezuka did. The two stoic teens were signing the death warrants of several talented Japanese tennis players. Seigaku and Rikkai Dai would lose a few players, but Hyotei would lose almost its entire team… it was a good thing they had so many people in their tennis program.

Yukimura turned towards Fuji as Fuji turned towards Yukimura and suddenly their faces lit up. The other three people in the room could have sworn the earth moved and hell just froze over. They were unleashing two sadists out into the world as partners. The next question was did they warn the others, or just let them fall? It was a hard decision, and Sanada, Tezuka, and Yuuta were lost in their thoughts trying to make the right decision not coming out of their own heads until they heard the bluenette's voice.

"Fuji, I will call you later. Be expecting my call. Come Genichiro, I need to get you home."

"Saa, I will be waiting," Fuji chortled anticipating what they could do together.

When the two Rikkai Dai members were gone, Yuuta turned to his brother, "Ne aniki, what just happened?"

"Why we are taking Tezuka and Sanada's advice and will discuss the problem at hand together," he laughed.

That laugh caused both Yuuta's and Tezuka's hearts to stop momentarily. Finally, Tezuka pushed up his glasses and suggested, "Shall we go as well?"

"What about you two?" Yuuta inquired. If the whole plan was to get the four people with the right person, then he wasn't going to let an opportunity pass him by. Plus he felt relatively safe at the moment and didn't believe his brother was going to kill him… yet.

"Us?" Fuji questioned and caught a glimpse of the slight blush that appeared on Tezuka's face. "Ne, Tezuka are you turning pink? Are you sick?" He teased.

He hated to admit it, but Yuuta had a point. What about them? Tezuka had confessed earlier that day and Fuji had confessed the day before. Sanada had broken up with the tensai, so that meant that he was free to be with whomever he chose… Why couldn't it be Tezuka? "Fuji… would you like to…" the stoic teen started, but what did he really want to ask? Dinner, date, boyfriend… what? Well, technically, he wanted all of them, but what did Fuji really want?

Shaking his head, Fuji told him, "Prove it. Prove to me that you really have feelings for me and want to be with me, and then I will think about it." He knew he was torturing his friend a little bit, but he felt it was only fair after he had been left broken hearted as Tezuka flew off to Germany. Yes, the former buchou came back for him, but the sadist in him wanted to push just a little bit and see what the other teen would do.

"Nani?!" Tezuka asked in a sharp clipped tone.

"Prove it, and then I will consider it."

"How?"

"That is for you to decide," Fuji grinned and grabbed his brother, "Come Yuuta, I think mom is making your favorite for dinner tonight and if not, I am sure we can convince her to do it."

They left Tezuka standing there in a slightly stunned state, and Yuuta felt sorry for the older teen. Dating his brother wasn't going to be easy and apparently getting Fuji to agree to date him was going to be another trial. Was it even worth it? Thinking about the two teens in question, he decided it had to be.

Sitting on a train on their way home, Sanada's head was resting on Yukimura's shoulder and he asked, "Were you telling the truth earlier?" His voice sounded weak, but his head was still pounding.

Yukimura looked out the widow across from him and gazed at the passing scenery, "I was."

"I will only ask this once more and if you deny me again, I won't ever ask again… Will you go out with me?" There was a long pause and Sanada got nervous, but then the bluenette answered.

"You don't have to ask again, but I will not give you my answer until after all of this business with the other players is water under the bridge."

The fukubuchou knew what that meant… Yukimura wasn't going to give him an answer until revenge had been exacted and he and Fuji were satisfied. This might get really bad before it got better, and he knew it wasn't going to be pretty. Sanada was just happy he wasn't on the receiving end of it all and nodded, "After then." He decided he better say some prayers and light some incense for those poor souls that had decided to cross two sadistic tennis players… maybe he would seek out a priest and get him involved as well. It couldn't hurt, and it might keep the others alive… might.
