5 WEEKS LATER (on a Monday)

I'm back in the hospital, but this time I'm conscious and thy are taking my cast off. Basic training starts in one week. Kerry can't do it with me because her knee's been playing up again. She really isn't happy about it. Once my cast is off I go to my first lesson, maths. I'm instantly dreading it. I forgot to do my homework, well when I say forgot I mean I was sleeping. I slept all day Sunday and Saturday I was in town. I start to walk slower. I reached the door and I was son given 30 laps to do this week. So along with my 50 left over from last week and the twenty I still have from fighting someone in the cafeteria, 100 laps to do this week. Yay...

The day went quicker than expected, I went strait to my room and got changed into my gym kit and walked to the running track. Surprisingly, there was another person on the track. I had seen him around campus before, he was on the same basic training slot as me. He had arrived a few day before and wasn't in the best shape I must say. I started to run, I would run 15 until Saturday, and than 10 on Sunday. I overtook the boy who was red in the face and carried on I got to 15 and then headed back to my room. I had a quick shower and then got changed. I went to meet Kerry and Gabrielle in the hall.

"Hey!" Kerry squealed.

"Hi!" I replied. Gabrielle came round the corner with loads of diet cokes. Whist I ran over to help her Kerry went into her room and got three big bags of Doritos. "Jesus, I thought we were just going to the lake to chat as group!"

"Well why not use it as an excuse to pig out!"

"Good point!" We started to walk down to the lake and the boys were already there. kyle was trying to sell a load of pirate DVDs to a group of black shirts but they couldn't be bothered to buy them. Kyle soon gave up. Bruce was in a heated argument with Callum and Connor, I realised they were about to start hitting each other, I went over and hugged Bruce. I could tell he was giving them the finger behind my back and I nearly hit him for it. Shak had already opened the Doritos and was stuffing his face. Bruce and I walked over to the rest of the group and I got a diet coke.

"Did you guys here that Dave Moss nearly died in his last mission?" Gabrielle said kicking off our gossip session.

"How?" Shak asked.

"It was that cult thing they found out that he didn't think like that when he tried to bring them down, and they tried to shoot him." I said as if it wasn't out of the ordinary, which at CHERUB it isn't.

"That doesn't surprise me, that dick is always taking unnecessary risks!" Bruce told us.

"true" i agreed.

Three hours later

Everybody that was around the lake with us had gone and it was just us sitting in a circle, me laying down with head in Bruces lap still chatting about all the campus gossip. I soon dozed off and Bruce took me to my room, but kerry had to unlock the door for him, as she has a set of my keys because I always forget mine.
