A/N: Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday. I know I did and I found out that one of my Twilight stories was nominated for top ten stories completed in Dec 2013. I was very excited. I will find out in Feb if my story made it since the voting is currently going on. If you follow Twilight, the link to vote is on my profile page. Fingers crossed Wedding Day Jitters makes it into the top 10. XD. As for this story, it is never a good thing to piss off one person with sadistic tendencies… two is just asking for death regardless if there were good intentions or not. Enjoy the new chapter!
Chapter 15 – Last Request
"Moshi, moshi," Inui answered his phone which was ringing as soon as he stepped out of the locker room after practice.
"Sadaharu, we have a problem," Yanagi stated. He had reviewed the data at least three times, as he was sure his friend had done as well, and there was no other answer besides one, "Chance at placating two sadists…"
Sighing, Inui walked away from the building so that no one else would hear his conversation, "0%. I am aware." He had stayed up late last night reviewing his data notebooks and he had come up with the same conclusion. "What do you recommend?"
"I believe the only way to deal with this is to call a meeting with Fuji and Yukimura."
"We will probably be stepping right into a trap if we do that. The chance of success is…"
"I am well aware of our chances, but at least if we approach them, we will not have to wait for them to make a move and be caught unaware."
"Agreed," Inui stated as he adjusted his glasses and continued on his journey home, "When do we want to meet with them?"
"I believe the sooner the better. Today during practice, Marui, Niou, Yagyuu, Jackal, and I did nothing but run laps today and I believe it will continue down this path until they decide what to do with us."
"During the week could cause problems since our schools are at a distance from each other. Shall we call a meeting for this Saturday?"
Yanagi thought about it for a moment before agreeing, "Hai. I will send a message to Yukimura tonight."
"I will do the same with Fuji."
"Sayonara, Sadaharu."
Inui nodded and said, "Sayonara, Renji."
There was really no other way around it, and honestly there was no way to know what Yukimura and Fuji would do or when. They were at the mercy of two teens that liked to watch others squirm, and all they could do is pray that their friends would realize that they only did what they did to help and not to hinder or hurt. Taking that into consideration, the two data players felt they should be given a pass, as well as everyone else involved. Now the question was would they be able to convince Fuji and Yukimura of that? The likelihood of that happening was less than a 5% success rate according to their analysis.
That night Fuji and Yukimura both received emails requesting a meeting on Saturday afternoon, and after a quick phone call to each other, they both agreed to accept the request and thought of it like a last request from the two data players. However, what the others did not know was that the sadists' own trap would be sprung by then and no one was really safe.
The next morning at tennis practice, Yukimura's smile grew the moment he saw Yanagi. It was that smile that made so many fear him because it clearly said, "I can't wait to torture you and then when you're tired, I am going to torture you some more." Walking up to one of his closest friends, he snickered as he noticed the data master take one step backwards, but the bluenette was impressed that the brunette's expression never faltered or changed to show how nervous he was by the advancement of his buchou. "Ne, Renji, I just wanted to let you know that Fuji and I have accepted your request to talk. We will be there on Saturday," Yukimura chortled. It really was fun watching how scared and nervous his own friend was of him.
Bowing his head, Yanagi swallowed hard and hoped that the bluenette could not see how affected he was at the moment, "Excellent. Thank you for your time. I believe there is a 93% chance we can resolve this without any other means or getting anyone else involved." He walked past his friend and mentally swiped his brow… he had just lied through his teeth because in actuality the chance of resolution was only 2.93%; however, he wanted to sound more confident than he was. The laugh as he passed by Yukimura told him that he had fooled no one.
The bluenette found his friend amusing. If Yanagi really believed those odds, he really needed to recheck his data. Turning around he called out, "Oh Renji, 100 laps this morning with the rest of your participants. What you don't finish in morning practice can be added to this afternoon's practice."
And there it was. Renji knew this was all part of his punishment and wondered if the bluenette was taking hints from Tezuka. Their relationship had been false, but it appeared Yukimura had picked up some bad habits. Yes, the buchou had assigned laps before, and he could be brutal about it, but was worse than anything that had been thrown at the data player or anyone else on the team before.
As he approached the people that had agreed to help him in his efforts to bring Yukimura and Sanada together, Yanagi could see how nervous and afraid they were as well. Marui was furiously chewing his gum, but no bubbles were being blown. Jackal was at least 8% shinier telling the data collector he was sweating a little more than normal. Yagyuu kept adjusting his glasses, which he normally did, but he was doing it at least 12% more than usual. Finally Niou… well actually Niou wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, but he did keep one eye on the bluenette for the entire practice. This was not going to be a fun week, and nothing would improve until after the sadists exacted revenge or the datamen were able to talk the sadists down.
Sanada felt hopeless to help his friends. In actuality, he felt like if he gave them a torundoru it would be swift justice and everyone could move on. It was the anticipation that was killing everyone and that included him… even though he wasn't included in the revenge; and the other problem was, he had already tried talking to the bluenette and Yukimura didn't want to listen to what he had to say. Maybe he should light some more incense, although, his father and grandfather were already questioning why he was lighting so much and praying constantly.
In another school, a tensai meandered over to one of his bespectacled friend, a big smile upon his face as he addressed the other teen, "Saa Inui, I received your email and wanted to inform you personally that Yukimura and I will be in attendance on Saturday. Will it just be the four of us?"
Adjusting his glasses, the dataman nodded, "Yes. Yanagi and I are taking full responsibility for what happened this past weekend."
"Ne, and by what happened you mean when Sanada was knocked out and the fact that you locked the four of us inside a room with no means of escape?" Fuji opened his blue eyes and without dropping his smile, gave his friend a hard stare.
Inui wished at that moment that the ground would open up and swallow him alive. That would have been easier to endure than to deal with Fuji staring him down with those intense eyes of his; and at least then he wouldn't have to fear or think about Fuji and Yukimura teaming up together. Unable to hold the tensai's gaze for long, Inui looked to the right and cleared his throat, "Yes that is correct."
"Hmm, sou ka. Well, then I look forward to this weekend with relish," Fuji giggled and walked off leaving Inui alone to contemplate the error of his ways.
"As the wind blows through the trees, let's hope his irritation is fleeting," Yamato said from behind Inui.
Nodding, the dataman could not have said it better himself… and then had to pull out one of his notebooks and mark the occasion that his buchou actually made sense for once, "Yanagi and I will be meeting with Fuji and Yukimura this weekend and will hopefully calm them down. We knew interfering could lead to problems, so it is something we were prepared to face."
"As were everyone else that agreed to help you. We all know how Fuji can be, and we have heard the rumors about Yukimura. Now come on, it is time to run your laps," the current Seigaku buchou announced clapping his hands together. It wasn't that they hadn't done a good thing by interfering, they had; however Yamato knew that Fuji didn't like other meddling in his life outside of tennis and that is where the problem lay. In addition, from his understanding, Yukimura had a plan to get Sanada in the end and the scheme put forth by Inui and Yanagi had ruined it all, and there was no way the blue haired buchou would allow something like that to slide. That being said, he was curious how the two sadists were going to punish everyone and found a small thrill in seeing everything unfold. If nothing else, this would bring his first years a little closer together.
Tezuka had been watching Fuji and Inui's chat. He was curious about it all, but almost felt like he needed to step back and stay out of it. When the tensai had an agenda, there was almost no changing his mind and could think of example after example that supported his theory. Pairing him with Yukimura could only make it that much worse. However, he also felt like he should at least try to say something since Inui and Kikumaru were his friends… shouldn't he? Well, he would attempt and if it didn't work… well he wondered if Sanada wanted to meet to pray and discuss memorial service plans.
After school, Tezuka waited for Fuji outside of the locker room and pulled him to the side, "Fuji, what are you and Yukimura planning?"
Snickering, the tensai's grin grew, "I don't know what you're talking about Tezuka. I think you worry too much. We have only talked a couple of times and everything is centered around tennis."
The former buchou could feel the pressure in his head building and he pinched the bridge of his nose, "Everything centers around tennis anyway because you are both players and everyone involved is a tennis player. You can't get away from tennis."
"Well you will be happy to know that Yukimura and I have agreed to a meeting with Inui and Yanagi this very Saturday afternoon. We are going to talk about everything that happened in a calm and rational manner. We are both free thinking and rational people after all."
Tezuka didn't know about all that. Yes, they were free thinking and they could be rational, but they were still sadists and he didn't think they would just forgive and forget. They had been locked in a room which had been bugged with cameras and microphones, Yuuta had agreed (according to Fuji coerced) to help, Sanada had been knocked out and given a concussion in their bid to escape, and regardless how anyone spun it, others had gotten involved in personal business. It didn't look good for anyone involved. Sighing, he shook his head, "Just be careful and try not to kill anyone." Tezuka knew he couldn't stop Fuji and at this point, he wasn't even going to try.
Smiling brightly, Fuji patted his arm, "Of course, Tezuka. Was there anything else?" He was a little hopeful that the other teen had come up with a plan to convince the tensai of his feelings, but it really didn't appear as such and the next words proved that.
"No, that is all," the stoic teen stated. He wanted to say so much more, however, he believed that words would not be enough. He needed to do something more; he just wasn't sure what that was… yet.
"Saa well if that is all, I need to get home," the tensai smiled and started to walk off, stopping when he heard his name called.
"Fuji, I will prove it."
Without turning around, Fuji nodded, "I look forward to that." He walked away without another word or looking behind him.
Tezuka watched the blue eyed teen leave and shook his head once again. There was no stopping Fuji or Yukimura and he wasn't sure what they had planned, but something told him that Saturday would consist of more than a simple meeting; and chills crept up his spine as he thought about what could possibly happen. None of it was good. Saturday was just around the corner and there were only a few more days to wait before he and the others would see what the sadists had planned. Just a few more days before revenge stepped out of fantasy and became reality.
A/N2: Ok, I promise that you will see what they have planned in the next chapter, but I felt like this chapter needed to happen before the revenge was revealed.
