7. Test

James heard the voice tell everyone to come to the training room. He looked around to see if anything was going to happen. Why were they calling everyone to the training room? When he didn't see anything he sighed. The first people through the doors were Olivia and Dexter. They walked in talking. James found it surprising and watched them. Dexter and Olivia didn't really seem like two people who would get along. They were an interesting couple.

The next people that came in running were Corrine, Kiyan, Damian and Skye. James looked at them. Obviously they had formed an alliance, that much was clear but he found it curious. The four were all strong and James could see where they would benefit from allying together but the four of them, might have a few problems. Still he decided he should watch out for those four.

Next people were Seraphina and Matt. The two both walked in talking. They seemed to be extremely unfocused on the situation. They were just talking but about what, James had no idea.

They were all there except Ash. James wondered where she had gone. It was kind of strange that she wasn't there. He had assumed she would be the first one there. It was a bit surprising but James didn't think much of it.

The next thing that happened was a black clothed figure walked out from the shadows. James immediately felt ready to fight but he restrained himself. These were the people that had complete control over this place. It wouldn't settle well to attack them.

"Looks like we are missing someone." They said. Their voice told that they were a guy but you could get that from looking at them. The man's lips curled into a cruel smirk. "Well she will have to be punished for that later." He said. "Now let's get to it shall we." He said.

All the kidnapped demigods immediately switched their attention to him watching carefully. They could all tell what was to happen next would be important.

"Now I want all of you to listen carefully. You are about to be tested. I need to see your strength to see how valuable you really are to us." He said. "It is going to go down like this. Your each going to get a specific test. For each one of you it will be different. One of you may be facing your biggest fear while another might be fighting ten men with only an umbrella as a weapon. You have to act as you would. We will decide if you pass or not. If you pass, you have nothing to worry about but failure will lead to you getting a short end of the stick and you will continue to take the test until you pass." He told us. James took a sharp intake of breath. What would he be doing in his test? He didn't have much time to think about it though because the leader spoke again.

"The first person up will be James." HE said and James took a step forward. Now or Never, He thought. The man smirked and him. James walked over and stood in front of the lead imitator. He smiled at him. "James Maius, You might want to stay still." HE said before making a small gesture. James felt a small pain in the side of his neck before everything went black.

He awake to find himself in a fully white room. There was a table and Five chairs. He looked around before more people appeared in the room. The first person to enter was an imitator, the black outfit and mask on. He stood on the side of the room and didn't glance at James. The next person that entered the room made James heart stop. Amelia, his little step-sister who he thought of as his own, walked in and sat down in one of the chairs her hands bound behind her back. Then the next person to walk in was Matt. James clenched his fists. Matt was an over confident jerk, why was he here. Matt did the same thing Amelia had done sitting in the chair. The next person to show up shocked him. HE hadn't known who it would be, so far he had found one person he loved and one he hated. He shouldn't have been that surprised thinking about it though. After Love and Hate you have middle ground and the person you aren't sure about so into the room walked Ash.

His eyes widened. What? What was this test about? Amelia was looking at him and she was scared, fear visible in her eyes. Matt was looking at him cockily daring him to do something. Lastly Ash sat there and just looked down. She didn't make eye contact, instead looking down at her lap.

The imitator then turned to him. "Only one of these people did nothing. One killed someone, the other betrayed you and the gods." He said to him. "You have ten questions. They will each answer the questions, but they may lie." You must figure who did what." He said before walking over and sitting in a chair on the other side of the table. The only empty chair was beside him and James slowly walked over. He already was confident on who did what. Amelia was innocent, Matt betrayed everyone and Ash killed someone. He was roughly sure but he still was going to ask the questions. He couldn't afford to fail this test.

Slowly he looked at the three. Then he asked his first question. If what he knew was correct someone would probably be in charge of always lying, another would dance around the truth and one would be flat out honest. He assumed that's what would happen because that much was true. So he started. "What's your full name?" He asked. Amelia spoke first in her sweet voice, fear leaking into it.

"Amelia Maius." She said quietly. Next Matt spoke.

"Matt Ignis." He told James cockily. "You should know that." Ash was the last to answer.

"Ashleigh." Was all she said. James looked at them. He thought of their answers. He asked for full names and Amelia was honest, that was her name. Matt just said Matt instead of Matthew which James knew was his full name, not technically a lie but not the full truth either. And Ash had just said Ashleigh. That could be a lie. He just knew Ash. That could be short for Ashlyn not Ashleigh. And she didn't say her last name. Ash was lying, Matt was dancing around the truth and Amelia was honest. He knew that much. Now for the other questions.

"Who is your father?" He asked. They answered in the same order.

"Andrew Maius."

"Someone important."

"I don't know."

These answers struck James as odd. Matt was still dancing around the truth. But Andrew was his dad, not Amelia's. Of course he hadn't specified, maybe Amelia had considered Andrew as her father. Ash saying she didn't know was odd. He didn't know what to think of that answer. He sighed.

"Who is your mother?" He asked and again they answered in the same order.

"Angela."

"I have two."

"I don't know." The same answer from Ash. Strange. And Amelia had just said Angela. Not the full name like she had with Andrew. Matt still giving unstraight answers.

The questions went on until he only had three questions left. So far he remained confident in his answers. Matt would never give a straight answer, Amelia's answer all seemed relatively true but they were kind of weird. And Ash seemed to "not know" a lot of things. He sighed before asking the questions he saved for last.

"Which one of you killed someone?" He asked. The three answered in their usual order.

"Ash."

"One of the two girls."

"Amelia." James nodded before asking another one.

"Which one of you betrayed the gods and I?" He asked.

"Me."

"Not Ash."

"Matt." Those answers threw everything off as soon as Amelia answered. She said her. If she's honest then it meant… She did it. And it meant Matt was innocent. He asked the last question though to confirm everything.

"Who is innocent?" The answers came.

"Matt."

"You."

"Me." Those were the answers and James thought. He thought of the answers. If Matt was not giving any straight answers he wasn't lying either. He was the key to solving this. He thought of Matt's answers to his last three questions. One of the two girls, not Ash, and You. He didn't believe Matt was innocent though. He looked at Amelia hard. Her eyes were darting around the room, she was sweating and obviously looked nervous. He quickly came to a conclusion after looking at the other two. Matt was innocent. It was the only thing that made sense. Or at least he thought until he looked at Ash who finally lifted her head and made eye contact with him. She gave him a small smile. He was taken aback, it looked friendly. He quickly wrote down his answers changing them last second. Someone was innocent and it wasn't Matt. Immediately after everything went black.
