I walked into the choir room to see…everyone dressed as superheroes. Well it wasn't everyone, just the people that didn't join this year.
"What's going on Sam?" I asked.
"I'm not Sam. I'm Blonde Chameleon." Sam responded. "I can imitate anyone."
"Uh-huh…"I remarked.
"I'd like to interrupt this meeting." Sam declared.

I was so jaded
"Boys Like Girls, huh?" I responded.
"As sweet as that was, we have a very pressing issue." Tina declared. "Our Nationals trophy has been stolen."
"I'll get it back." Blaine promised. "This meeting is adjourned."
"You should join our superhero group." Sam suggested to me.
"There really aren't any superheroes that fit my style." I replied.
"What about Raven from Teen Titans?" He asked. I guess that was an apt comparison.
"I don't know." I responded. "I never wanted to be a superhero."
So one big thing that happened was Mr. Schue went to Washington to speak on behalf of the Arts and Finn was going to serve as Interim Glee Club Director. He walked into the room…wearing a sweater vest just like Mr. Schue.
"So for starters, I'd like welcome Kitty to the Glee Club." Finn declared. I couldn't help but think how ridiculous he looked wearing that. I looked at Miss Honey Nut who smiled a wicked grin. So now we have a villain living amongst our group of heroes.
Finn didn't seem to have any idea what he was doing. I noticed that Kitty was talking to Marley when everything was over. I was not okay with this. Ryder said that he found Marley making herself vomit before the show and I was pretty sure who convinced her to do such a thing.
"You need to leave Marley alone." I declared.
"What are you going to do about it, Raccoon Eyes?" She challenged.
"You better watch it cause when a cat gets in a fight with a raccoon, it's usually the raccoon that wins." I replied.
"Bring it on, Bitch." She taunted.
"How about you just go home and watch Bring It On and try to convince yourself that cheerleaders are athletes?" I suggested.
At that point, she just jumped me. A crowd immediately formed. She decided to scratch me and fought back by biting her. It took a few seconds before Sam pulled me off of her.
"You bit me, you freak." Kitty replied. I noticed Finn was watching. I hoped that I wouldn't get in trouble for this.
When I got home, I called Quinn. She gave me her number if I ever wanted to talk. I don't think that she was in class.
"Hey." She answered. "What's up?"
"I got in a fight today." I told her. "This girl Kitty, the head cheerleader was being a bitch and she started it."
"She sounds a lot like I was my sophomore year before I got pregnant." Quinn admitted. "Fighting isn't the answer though."
"I know, but she's so frustrating." I replied.
"I can't tell you how to handle this, but you shouldn't be making enemies." Quinn told me. "So is there anything else you want to talk about?"
"Yeah, the Glee Club has this superhero thing and Sam wants me to be in it, but I don't know what kind of hero I would even be." I responded.
"How about you listen to this." She replied. I was kind of surprised when she started to sing into the phone.

"That was weird." I commented.
"Yeah, it was." She agreed. "If we ever do that again, let's make sure we're in the same room, but anyway you can find your inner hero if you look hard enough."
The next day in Glee, Finn came in dressed as "The Almighty Treble Clef". He began writing Dynamic Duets on the board.
"What?" I questioned.
"It's simple there's been some tension in the club and I want to resolve that. The common way is to give enemies a common goal, so Sam and Ryder, Kitty and Charlie, you will be performing a duet dressed as superheroes and getting to know each other better." Finn explained.
"You can't be serious!" Kitty shouted. "There is no way that I'm performing with her."
"Yeah, I have to agree with her on this. There is no way that we can work together." I told Finn.
"You have to learn to deal with it because I am not changing my mind." Finn declared. Well this was just great. I looked at Kitty. I think that this would have one of two outcomes. Either we would manage to do the impossible and deliver a kickass performance, or we would kill each other. I hoped it would be the former.
I went home as I tried to decide on my superhero identity. I then remembered that I needed to watch Arrow and everything clicked. Duh, I could base my costume on Oliver Queen. Instead of being Green Arrow, I would be Black Arrow. I realized that bringing real arrows to school would probably get me suspended, so I improvised with some fake ones that I painted black.
Kitty and I had to rehearse our number together. We were going to be singing another "Hero" song, this one by Skillet.
"You know superheroes aren't really the go-to role models for young girls these days." I told Kitty. "It seems like people like characters who don't have superpowers like Katniss from The Hunger Games, or for some insane reason, Bella from Twilight, until she becomes a vampire in the last movie anyway. I doesn't help that the only female superhero the average American can name is Wonder Woman who is basically a female Superman with no weakness."
"I don't there's really a super part to my costume." Kitty replied. "That's a reason why people like Katniss because she is original and she's played by a really damn good actress."
I can't believe that I was having a civil conversation with her.
"Why is it that you don't like me?" I asked. "And don't say it's my appearance, because I know that you are not that shallow. So tell me why you don't."
"It's just your Quinn Fabray's sister." She replied. "I idolized her and I see you and you're not."
"I grew up with a very different life than her." I pointed out. "I didn't even meet her until last week. I'm sorry if I'm not your like your perfect image of my sister, but I'm never changing who I am."
We went to Glee where Sam and Ryder were going to be performing their duet. I knew that the root of their fighting was me. Ryder was wearing a Superman knockoff outfit.
Sam started off.

Later in the day, while I was on my way home with Sam, I couldn't help but notice that something was wrong.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Ryder told me that he can't read." Sam stated. "I don't know what to do, I really want to help him, but I promised not to tell anyone."
"A hero helps others even when they don't ask for it." I told him. "You need to tell Ms. Pillsbury about it and maybe she can do something. You're breaking a promise to help someone for the better and I think he might thank you for it."
The following day, Sam told me that Ryder was dyslexic. They were helping him with ways to study.
In Glee, I prepared for my performance with Kitty. She was dressed like Catwoman and I was dressed in a black leather jacket over a hoodie with a leather skirt and had a bow and quiver with the aforementioned fake arrows that I found at a toy store. Kitty was starting off and I would be coming in later.

"Okay you girls rocked." Finn told us. "That was great."
After everything was done, we went to the auditorium for a special performance. Everyone was going to be wearing red shirts and jeans. We all sang the chorus

I prepared for the spoken word bridge.
"This is it. I sold my soul for this. Washed my hands and died for this. I missed my mom and dad for this. No when I see stars, when I see stars that's all they are. When I hear songs, they sound like a swan so come on" I said.
Ryder, Jake, Kitty, and Marley all took turns singing "Come on" before I started singing again. These lyrics actually did hit close to home.

"It's for the best you didn't listen." Joe finished. "It's for the best we gave our distance."
There was something wrong. Even after all we went through, I still wasn't sure if I could trust Kitty.
So the songs in this chapter are "Hero/Heroine" by Boys Like Girls, and three songs called "Hero" by Mariah Carey, Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott, and Skillet. I kept "Some Nights" because it is one of my favorite songs. Also there was the first duet between Quinn and Charlie. I can promise that Quinn will be in Lima for the second half of the season.
