I sat in the choir room with the cup that I had acquired. It took me some time but I had learned this and rather than post a video about it, I was going to show the Glee club. I actually had liked this song before I heard it in the movie.
I got my ticket for the long way round
Two bottles of whiskey for the way
And I sure would like some sweet company
I'm leaving tomorrow what do you say?
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my hair
You're gonna miss me everywhere oh
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my hair
You're gonna miss me everywhere oh
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
I got my ticket for the long way round
The one with the prettiest of views
It's got mountains, it's got rivers
It's got sights that give me shivers
But it sure would be prettier with you
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my walk
You're gonna miss me by my talk
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my walk
You're gonna miss me by my talk
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
When I'm gone, when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
You're gonna miss me by my walk
You're gonna miss me by my talk
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
"You finally got it." Sam told me as he came over and hugged me.
"That was actually a great lead-in to this week's assignment." Mr. Schue said before writing MOVIES on the whiteboard. "Everyone loves movies."
I would say that Beca didn't and she still shouldn't have changed to get with Jesse. She could have kept her dislike of movies and been with Chloe.
"They help us escape from our day-to-day anxieties." He continued.
"Like getting left at the altar." Kitty quipped.
"Too soon." I told her. Everyone else seemed to think the same.
"Exactly." Mr. Schue replied calmly. He took that well. "Or your guys' case, studying for exams or worrying about Regionals. In any case, for this week's assignment, I want you to pick your favorite songs from your favorite movies."
There seemed to be shared, well glee around the room. Sam did a pretty bad Nicholas Cage impression, but I wasn't going to tell him. Everyone else did that.
"It's not going to be that simple." Mr. Schue declared. "It is going to be a group thing, boys against girls and it's going to be visual, so costumes are required."
"But some of the greatest songs from movies involve a boy and girl singing a duet." Sugar pointed out.
"Then you'll have to find other ones." Finn responded.
"We should do The Artist so we don't have to sing." Sugar suggested.
"No, silent movies needed to stay dead and that was not better than The Descendants." I argued. "Why would we not sing?"
"We could do 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing'." Marley suggested.
"It's a good song, but I don't want to dress like an astronaut." Kitty replied. "So what's your suggestion, Charlie and no we are not doing Nightmare Before Christmas."
"I don't even like that movie." I replied. "I don't know. Maybe we could do Hairspray or something. Actually, I have a perfect idea. We can do Taylor Swift's "Eyes Open" from the Hunger Games and choreograph something where we're slowly killing each other through the performance."
"That actually sounds like a good idea." Kitty remarked. "But how are we going to decide who the winner is."
"I think it should be Marley because she makes the best Katniss." I suggested.
"Fine, but I call Clove." Kitty replied.
Later that day, Sam and I were going to out on a date, but I wanted to wait until he was done with practice, so we were leaving from school.
"So it sucks that we can't sing a song together." Sam remarked.
"Let's sing one right now." I suggested before I started.
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you're sleeping, while you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
Caused I'd miss you babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
I just wanna be with you, right here with you just like this
I just wanna hold you close
I feel your heart so close to mine
And you'll stay here in this moment for all the rest of time
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
Caused I'd miss you babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
"I love you." He told me.
"I still can't say it yet." I admitted. "But I'm working on it."
"You can say whenever you're ready." Sam replied. "I know how you feel."
I did feel really strongly about this. It might have been love. All of this is still entirely confusing to me.
"So I believe that we have a reservation for Breadstix." Sam stated. I smiled and took his hand before we headed out to his car and headed to the restaurant. "So what kind of movie do you think the two of us would star in?"
"Well, it probably wouldn't be a romantic comedy." I answered. "Maybe it would be gender inversion and you would be the peppy vampire and I would be the brooding human girl."
"I would be a pretty awesome vampire." Sam stated. "So what song are you girls going to be singing?"
"I'm not going to tell you that." I told him playfully. "You're just going to have to wait and see when we perform, but if you guys want to perform a song from Magic Mike, I think we'd all appreciate it."
"I don't think they are any memorable songs from that." Sam replied. Yeah, that's kind of true. The songs that they danced to were all unimportant. I'm not even sure if anyone was paying attention to the words anyway.
So after our date, I went home for a change. I wasn't going to see Lucy or Frannie today. My mom was happy that I was spending time with them, but my dad wasn't. That made me wonder something as I waited in Sam's car.
"You know, I don't know anything about your family." I replied.
"My family lives in Kentucky." He replied. "Finn and Rachel brought me back here last summer."
"Do you see them much?" I asked.
"We Skype every now and then, but neither of us really has the money to make the trip." He explained.
"Okay, that is going to change." I replied. "Next weekend, you and me are going to drive down to Kentucky so you can see them."
"You don't have to do that." He remarked.
"I want to." I responded before I gave him a kiss and headed inside. Now I just needed to get permission from my mom. I saw that she was downstairs and I decided to just talk to her now.
"How was the date?" She asked me.
"It was good." I replied. "Mom, there's something that I need to ask you."
"Is it about sex?" She questioned.
"Mom!" I remarked in embarrassment. "No, I kind of want to go on a trip with Sam next weekend. You see, his family lives in Kentucky and he hasn't seen them in a while because he hasn't been able to afford it. So I am wanting to take him so he could see them."
"Have you been doing well in school?" Mom asked.
"Yes." I answered. "I really want to do this and I already told him that I would. I love him, even if I can't say it to him."
"I want you to call frequently, but yes you can go." She told me.
"There's one more thing I want to talk to you about." I responded. "You know if you want to get a divorce, I wouldn't be against it."
"I don't know." Mom replied.
"Well think about it." I offered. "Just know that whatever you decide to do, I will support you in it."
The next day, I found out that the guys were ready for their performance. That was quick. We still had to get our costumes. Blaine seemed to be singing the lead. They seemed to be dressed up as vampires. Had Sam used my idea?
If you ever leave me baby, leave some morphine at the door
Cause it will take a whole lot of medication
To realize what used to have we don't have it anymore
There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices that I'm making
To keep you by my side, keep your from walking out the door
Cause there'll be no sunlight if I lose you baby
There'll be no clear skies, if I lose you baby
Just like the clouds, my eyes will do the same
If you walk away, every day it'll be rain, rain, rain
Don't just say goodbye
Don't just say goodbye
I'll pick up these broken pieces till I'm bleeding
If that'll make it right
Cause there'll be no sunlight if I lose you baby
There'll be no clear skies, if I lose you baby
Just like the clouds, my eyes will do the same
If you walk away, every day it'll be rain, rain, rain
"That was great guys." Mr. Schue replied. "So are you girls ready?"
"We'll go tomorrow." I stated. I knew that we would have to be good to be that.
I called all of the girls together immediately after.
"So do should we still do the same song?" I suggested.
"I don't think we can go wrong with the biggest girl movie to come out ever." Tina replied. "All that they did was just jump around and be sexy. We've got a battle planned."
So, the next day we got all dressed in our costumes. Marley had her hair in a braid with a mockingjay pin. She was leading off
Everybody's watching
Everybody's waiting
Even when you're sleeping
Keep your eyes open
I then started.
The tricky thing is yesterday we were just children
Playing soldiers just pretending
Dreaming dreams with happy endings
In backyards winning battles with wooden swords
But now we've stepped into a cruel wood
Where everyone stands and keeps score
At that moment, I took out Sugar.
Keep your eyes open
Everybody's waiting for you to break down
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Keep your eyes open
Keep your eyes open
At that point, Kitty took out Tina and Brittany as we entered the bridge.
Keep your feet ready
Heartbeat steady
Keep your eyes open
I managed to take down Kitty as Marley joined in.
Keep your aim locked
The night grows dark
Keep your eyes open
Marley then took me down, finishing the song by herself.
Everybody's waiting for you to break down
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Keep your eyes open
Keep your eyes open
The guys all clapped when we finished and we all got up.
"Well that was violent and awesome." Artie commented.
"It looks like the girls are the winners." Mr. Schue replied. What did we win anyway? I think it was the satisfaction of saying that we were better than them.
"Can I go get changed now because I have a special song that I went to sing." I told Mr. Schue.
"Sure." He replied.
I went to the bathroom and changed into a lavish princess style dress. I think everyone was shocked to see me in it.
"So this is a song from the movie Enchanted." I explained.
Ever ever after
Storybook endings, fairytales coming true
Deep down inside you wanna believe they still do
And a secret is taught, it's our favorite part of the story
Let's just admit that we all wanna make it to
Ever ever after if we just don't get it our own way
Ever ever after it may only be a wish away
No wonder your heart feels it's flying, your head feels it's spinning
Each happy ending is a brand new beginning
Let yourself be enchanted you just might break through
To Ever ever after, forever could start today
Ever ever after, maybe it's just one wish away
Your ever ever after
Ever ever, ever after
Ever ever after I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss
Forever ever after
"You know every princess needs her prince." Marley stated. Sam got up and walked over to me. I didn't feel like pointing out that Giselle didn't actually end up becoming a princess. Yes, it has a better ring to it than Princess Nancy, but she still was just a common girl who ended up marrying a Dr. McDreamy.
"Sam, I have something that I need to say to you." I replied. "I can sing whatever song that I want, but that's not how I should tell you how I feel. What I wanted to say was that I love you."
He came up to me and kissed me. I said it and it was pretty great.
"I love you too." He replied.
So she finally said. She told Sam that she loved him. She's also going to see Sam's family with him. Just in case you weren't paying attention, the songs in this chapter are "Cups" from Pitch Perfect, "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" from Armageddon, "It Will Rain" from Twilight, "Eyes Open" from The Hunger Games and "Ever Ever After" from Enchanted. Please don't forget to review.
