Okay, people.
Happy New Year!
First of all, I'm SUPER sorry for missing the deadline. Writer's block and laziness have fused to make an abomination that has definitely been a struggle for me to overcome.
This is one of the few times I'm adding something new to the story.
Recently, I've been looking at the new Disney movie, "Frozen", and a little bit of the Big Four (HTTYD, Brave, ROTG and Tangled). And I've decided to add a Frozen crossover to the mix and a touch of Highlanders to this one.
P.S. Hiccup and Merida will have a friendly history, but no more. Also, Scotland was once strongly influenced by Scandinavia. Therefore, Highlanders believe in the Viking gods as well.
Oh and disclaimer. If you think I own anything other than the ideas and the mech-dragons, I'll have Merida shoot you at point blank.
"Oh, and 'e ain't jokin'."
They get it Merida. Anyway, let's go.
"Get those walls finished pronto," Stoick shouted up to the Vikings who were finishing one of the many walls being built as defensive points, before marching into the gazebo, an open building with a roof held up by pillars, that was usually used by traders to peddle their wares.
Inside, the islands best tactitions were marking out strategies and fussing over neighbouring countries.
"What words from our allies?" Stoick asked Spitelout and his other comrades.
"Arendelle is unable to assist, The queen has exiled herself and has apparently caused an eternal winter," Spitelout told Stoick.
Stoick had heard of this magic from her late parents and was very believing of them, so he knew it must be true.
"Anything else?" Stoick continued.
"Weselton has attacked our allies in Newfoundland..." Sven answered.
"... And the Southern Isles and Corona are at each other's throats," Finn Hofferson finished.
"What about the Highlander's? Surely Fergus can be of assistance," Stoick questioned.
"Yes, he's sending who he is able to," Spitelout answered, "but the clans of Dingwall, Macintosh and McGuffin are unwilling to assist. Something about his boys and magical bears, I think."
"Well, at least it's something. Who is commanding them?" Stoick asked.
The three looked at each other before Sven answered.
"It's the princess."
"Hiccup, I see something!" Sonic exclaimed as three white squares appeared.
"They're boats," Hiccup answered, perplexed as to why they were there, "Come on, let's get to my dad."
Hiccup landed, climbed off of Toothless and went to his dad.
"Dad, boats on the horizon," Hiccup warned.
"Good, our reinforcements have arrived," Stoick replied.
"Reinforcements?" Hiccup questioned.
"King Fergus managed to group a batch of Highlanders to assist," Stoick answered.
"Are you sure? Fergus can be quite unpredictable, especially when he's fighting," Hiccup asked.
"Well then, you'll be pleased to hear that he won't be comin'. Merida's leading them," Stoick chuckled at his sons remark.
"Okay, I don't know if that was meant to make me feel better or not," Hiccup replied as they reached the docks where the boats had already docked and were starting to unload. At the front of all of it stood Merida.
"Ahh, Berk. Good to be back," Merida praised as she took in a breath of fresh air to clear her head from the wary voyage.
"Welcome back to Berk, Merida," Stoick greeted, "I'm hopeful your voyage wasn't too rough."
"Not at all, as long as I never eat undercooked haggis abroad ever again," Merida replied. "Good to see ya' Hiccup," she continued, Gripping Hiccup into a bone crushing hug.
"Good to see you too,...Merida,...Can't...breath," Hiccup managed to half speak, half choke out the words.
"And she's NOT your girlfriend," Sonic asked in full view of Merida.
"AHHHHHH! What in the name of Thor is it," Merida screamed, unsheathing her bow and pulling out an arrow from her quiver to which Sonic replied, "Is this always gonna be the case?"
Once Merida was given a proper explanation, not only was she not scared, but she seemed very pleased to help the little animals. Once the final preparations for the upcoming battle were complete however, she disappeared.
"Where did she go?" Cream asked Hiccup, as she had already become an admirer of Merida, hoping to one day be a princess just like her. Vanilla was watching over her daughter to keep her safe.
"I'm not sure, Cream," Hiccup answered before looking at Astrid, who had just arrived, silently chuckling to herself, to which he responded, "Astrid, what's going on?"
"I found Merida... You've gotta... see this," Astrid managed to get out between giggles before grabbing Hiccup and dragging him with her, leaving Cream and her mother behind.
Hiccup and Astrid slunk past the Thorston house to the back of the Jorgenson house. Down the next alley, they heard voices talking. Astrid continued to smile as Hiccup listened in on the conversation.
"Oh, yer' just such a charma' aren't ye'."
"What is Merida d..." Hiccup asked before Astrid shushed him and signalled him to continue listening.
"Yeah, I get that a lot from the babes around here. None are as gorgeous as you."
At this point, Hiccup had to cover his mouth and bite his tongue to keep from laughing outright.
"I know, it's hilarious, right," Hiccup looked up to the speaker to see Silver, Tuffnut and Ruffnut standing behind the opposite house.
"What are you three doing here?" Hiccup asked Tuffnut, who was the one who had spoken to him.
"Uh, duh, same reason you are," Ruffnut answered, "Spying on Snotface as he hits on girls."
"What are you guys doing?" Snotlout shouted at the four of them.
"We're busted!" Silver exclaimed.
Merida simply laughed at the scene in front of her.
Suddenly a massive, unnatural roar was heard off in the distance. The teens stopped bickering and ran to the open streets to see what caused it. In the distance they saw the dragon-mechs, an army, less than a mile away
I know, I know. Snotlout and Merida are a couple, but come on, people. I get that we all hate him, but everyone deserves a chance at love.
