A Change Would Do You Good:
"Nervous?" North asked Ero.
"..." He stared at his ring finger.
"Reminds me our wedding." Tekla tried to not cry.
She got so giddy about what was going to happen for them on this particular Friday, December 6, she ended up happy. Both her and North were dressed in their usual winter wear they wore when they kept warm. Since all three of them stood on the outer rim of pond that belonged to Jack. Over looking owner of the frozen over body of water shouldering his staff as he stared up ward.
"JACK!" North called to him.
"Quiet." Tekla punched North's sleeve-covered arms. "He needs time."
"..." Ero was still silent.
Instead of standing around and waiting for Jack to walk toward them after the period of adjustment they were giving him. Ero would pull him self from North's presence stepping on to the ice with his boot clad feet Watching every step he took on the frozen over surface that could crack under his feet every movement he took. Stopping when he got near to Jack reaching for the silver band that lay on his finger ready to pull it off.
To only be stopped mid-way in removing the piece of jewelry from his finger by Jack almost hitting him with his staff. The expression on Jack's face told him that what he was about to do wouldn't end well for either of them.
"What are you doing?" Jack would up asking Ero.
"Seeing if you were going to..." He was cut off when Jack grabbed him by his collar and pulled.
Forcing Ero to into a kiss that always left him speechless when Jack couldn't handle whatever stupid stuff he got into. That was rare like now when Jack used this distraction to push Ero's ring back on his finger. Before taking that hand with his own where a matching band rested on Jack's own finger with same design. Didn't last long when Tekla could be found gushing over the scene on the ice telling North they made a cute couple.
"You really want to ruin us and suffer her scorn?" Jack whispered softly enough for only Ero to hear.
"Fine and you going to explain why your out here?" Ero countered with one of his own.
He was told to look up and saw something that had him grabbing Jack by his wrist to relocate him form where they were standing. To more off outer skirts of the pond when the reason Jack was staring at the sky came down. A glowing red nose in place of a black one while rest of him show he was fully grown reindeer ready to work.
"You boys like your gift!" North yelled toward them.
"WHAT?" Jack and Ero asked at the same time.
Tekla ended up cursing at North in her native tongue about the fully-grown reindeer not being a good enough gift for teen-age boys. Not that Jack could make out what she was saying with out asking Ero to translate. Since both he and Ero were taking in the sight of reindeer standing before them.
"It can't be..." Ero guessed who was standing before them.
"What are they feeding you?" Jack asked impressed with growth.
"Well reindeer North uses are from Moon and naturally can fly." Ero explained. "Just red nose from what you learn was always my mom's doing."
"Then why is he here ?" Jack asked as loudly as he could.
Across the ice Rudolph's hooves would stomp as the giant reindeer made his way toward startled Jack and Ero. Stopping ever to close to close to them so he could lower his head to toward the pair to take in their smell. When the familiar scent of freshly fallen snow mixed with warm smell of Magical Essences filled Rudolph's nostrils. Had him using his sniffer to nuzzled the two on the verge of knocking both over.
"Come on!" Ero tried to get Rudolph to stop. "You may knock one of us into the icy water under neither."
Having that fear made clear when spoken by Jack ended up scooping him self and Ero into the air upon his staff. Lifting them from the icy surface that he figured would start to crack if added pressure of a fully, mature reindeer. Standing on ice that was thin places that could easily give way with someone(s) reindeer was admiring. Re-experiencing his death all over again while trying to save Ero wasn't something Jack would repeat. Not after hearing that night before form Ero about a bit of information that couldn't take place in the human world.
"Jack!" Ero he been caught off guard when taken in the air by Jack. "Everything all right?"
He had to take a tight hold onto hoodie covered waist trying to not fall off the piece of wood jack used to fly around. Knowing if he were to fall into the icy surface below or water under neither would end in negative results. Not that he could save him self-using one his Crystal Beasts or some type of spell. Just at moment any magic of his own used to perform or cast words needed to activate spell. Was on rather weak stage due to him doing an impossibly task rarely happen in Spiritual World.
"Just keep you and Edur from getting hypothermia." Jack circled above Rudolph's head.
"I thought he agreed to call him Taika." Ero corrected Jack.
"I like Edur ." Jack shrugged liking the name.
"What about Taika Edur Wales-Frost?" Ero combined both names.
"Yeah your name deserves needs to go first since it was who started our relationship." Jack pointed.
Ero pointed out that it was Jack who took them still blooming relationship to sexual level that night. Made Jack smirk since both of them found ways to the make other shut up and castled off their 300-yr old innocence. Were going to be parents due to recent a discovery of Ero becoming pregnant through intercourse. They were welcoming with opened arms after what they been through.
"We should get down." Ero noticed a stare from the distance.
"Not like she can actually fly." Jack knew who was leering at them.
"Have you forgotten what she can do on reindeer?" Ero brought up one of her many welcomes.
Jack rolled his eyes at what Ero has to say about what Tekla could do if she ever mounted a Rudolph one more. Not wanting to suffer her wrath or any other form of punishment she came dish out. Jack stopped circling long enough to make his way back to elder couple awaiting them. Where he touched down and allowed Ero to be the firs tot get off just few feet from the Norths. Before Ero could tell them their gift of Rudolph would be hard enough to take of. Tekla sped walked over to him wit her arms reached out telling him he needed to be careful.
"You all right?" She asked forcedly embracing him.
"He fines." North tried to get her to let Ero go.
Jack ended up joining them asking if they could latest bold a stable or stable barn near their house for Rudolph to live in. Trying to say their gift was thoughtful just going to be hard t care for if they had child coming. To Ero's covered abdomen Jack would place his hand openly showing he was ready parenthood. This had Tekla releasing Ero from her arm trying not to cry at a face being made clear.
"Man is coming." She mumbled through her tears.
North ended up taking him wife into his own arms allowing her to press her face into fabric of his coat while listening to her. Reminding Jack of a conversation they had about fatherhood and another reasonability he was taking on. Not that winter spirit was rejecting the small gift of life that was being granted to him and Ero. He was just scared of being a bad parent to a child with no experience of being an actual dad. Had him ready to run away from the life he started to share with Ero if North hadn't set him aside to chat out this problem.
"Taika Edur Wales-Frost." Jack whispered hovering his hand over Ero's abdomen once more.
"You pick name it already." Telka like the ring
"Spent half the night in the library going through books to find one I both liked." Ero ened up taking Jack's hand.
Jack ended up noticing Ero slipping a band just like his own on to his own ring finger with greatest of ease. Mental was the color of Jack's pale skin with a similar stone embedded in the middle just like the one Ero wore. Would be given a chance to be admired by Jack after Ero removed his hands from his hand.
"Didn't want to be only one wearing one." Ero slowly kept stepping away form Jack.
Ero was stopped in his tracks by nose of a curious Rudolph not on solid ground wanting in what was going on. Resting his antler clad head on to Ero's shoulder from behind looking toward Jack. Wanting for some type of an answer to come after the silence started to form after gins placement.
"I wanted to return the favor." Ero reached behind him self to pet Rudolph.
He didn't know how to say that he also wanted to be forever with Jack in form of a husband and share their future joy. Fumbling with the words he been wanting to say about what he presented Jack with. Knowing what he just did mirrored an action taken between two beings during marriage ceremony.
"...Um...huh..." Ero looked to the Norths. "Shouldn't we are getting ready for Guardian Oath ritual?"
"That why we here, Right?" Tekla asked out loud elbowing her husband to agree with her.
North ended up pulling a few Snow Globes from his inner coat pocket knowing what she and Ero was trying to get at. Tossing two out beside them ordering a Yeti that stepped from one of the portals to hand over the book. While Elves carried opened boxes filled with items from both be rooms Jack and Ero had been living in. Making a b-line for the house that laid behind them ready to move the boys' possessions in one at a time. Walking through an already door one by one taking the boxes through out the house or to assigned locations.
Yetis handled the heavier pieces such as furniture form mattresses to artwork or heavy chests that belonged to Ero. Walking over the elves so they could place the stuff that was carrying in there designated places.
"Better?" Tekla asked Ero.
"Yeah and...Um..." He looked behind him. "Let's get you settled."
He ended walking to the side of the massive reindeer holding the rope that was strapped to the face harness on Rudolph. Naturally directing Rudolph toward the more back of the house where stable would be. Where Ero pulled off yet another magic trick of turning size of a dollhouse. Just his latest re-creation wasn't wouldn't be found in the pocket Ero placed their last night. Before panic could set in for Ero a detail building that looked liked a stable was placed in his hands.
"Next time check one of your packed boxes." Jack came form behind him. "Her packed it by accident."
"Thanks." Ero sighed.
Over Rudolph's rein would be handed to Jack so Ero could walk over to the bare piece of snow covered land. Placing the small stable area down with greatest of ease before retracing his steps. Each time he stepped back toward Jack and Rudolph the minute started to grow in twice size.
"Figured you been working on this." Jack pocketed his hand.
Ero crossed his arms as he stopped beside Jack looking to his own boot clad feet kicking snow around. Pointing out a fact that had Jack going wind eyed as stared from his staff to Rudolph twice.
"WOW!" Jack ended up laughing.
He ended up dropping the reins to Rudolph he could take one of Ero's hands with his own trying to end is laughing fit. Trying to say the other guardians started to arrive through vast means of transportation. All wanting to be here same reason that had Jack becoming an official guardian.
"You don't like riding a reindeer?" Ero asked tagging at Jack's hand.
"No, just the idea sounded funny." Jack tugs back.
Rudolph ended added his two sense by walking behind Jack and pushed him toward Ero using his nose. Telling them to kiss and make up already or to whatever they need to do before walking off. Hint was taken when Jack leaned toward Ero and stole a kiss from him distracting him enough. To re-take Ero's own hand that the matching ring he now wore while other rested on Ero's stomach.
"I want THIS!" Jack tightens his hold on Ero hand wanting him to know he wasn't running.
"You're sure?" Ero asked not wanting to toe him down.
"This shows something." Jack lifts the hand he was gripping.
He hadn't taken the ring Ero placed on his hand off nor wanted to lose him for reaction to the matching piece of jewelry. To only have a necklace that Ero gave Jack start to glow in tone Jack's heart beat.
"BOYS!" Tekla's voice called to them. "Time to start!"
"We better get going..." Ero sighed.
Jack was the one that led toward the crowd that split down the middle for the pair with Rudolph following behind them. Both made sure to wave to everyone they passed knowing Tekla would lecture about it later. Tightly holding each other hands all the way toward the center where North waited. Asking if Ero was ready of the role he was abut to take on before reciting the Oath.
