I don't own Danny Phantom.
Danni scrambled to her feet and ran towards her male counterpart. She wrapped him in a hug. "We—We thought you were dead!"
Danny smiled and hugged her back. "Well, I'm not. And I believe we have a villain to take care of."
Dan looked up at the duo. "You!" he hissed, spotting Danny. "This—this isn't over!"
Danny narrowed his eyes. "I believe it is. This. Is. OVER!" He swung his sword at the ghost. It only created a shallow cut across Dan's chest but the ecto-energy in the ice sword threw the futuristic ghost backwards into a shelf of pickle jars, shattering the glass and allowing it to cut him.
Dan stayed there too shocked and injured to move before a dark shadow fell over him. He looked up to see Danny Fenton standing there, fists clenched, blue eyes filled with fury and slightly tinged neon green.
"You—you!" Dan stuttered, attempting to get to his feet. He hissed, sticking his forked tongue out in an effort to scare the halfa. "Be afraid!"
Danny reached down and grabbed Dan by the front of his jumpsuit, pulling him up to eyelevel. Dan's angry face switched to horrified.
"If there's one thing I learned in the past year, it's to never be AFRAID!" With those words, he threw his future self towards another shelf. This impact forced his form to dissolve.
"Awesome!" Danni yelled, walking up besides Danny. "And by the way, I'm starting to love these swords."
Danny chuckled. "So am I. But that Dan was only a duplicate." He turned to Danni. "Let's go find Timepiece. Fishtail and Vlad went to help Daniel, who decided to take my parents and Jazz with him."
"What?!" Danni shrieked. "Does he realize what we're trying to do?"
Danny sighed and shook his head. "To be honest, I don't think he does. So we'll get Time and head to find them." He held out a hand. "Goin' ghost?"
She took it. "Goin' ghost."
A brilliant white ring appeared around each of their waists.
….
Dan's white boots made dull thuds on the pavement in the roads. His red eyes searched the shadows for the person he was looking for.
"Come out come out wherever you are, Apprentice," the ghost sang.
There was no response.
Above Dan, a figure in a black cloak appeared, balancing on a flag pole. He lit his hands up with green ectoplasm and jumped off his perch.
Dan spun around just in time to deliver an ectoblast to his head. Timepiece let out a yell as he crashed into a building and fell to the ground, hood falling off, revealing his black and white hair.
"You're not much of a fighter, are you?" Dan asked, arms folded.
Time looked up at him. "No. I'm trained to be the Apprentice of Time, not a fighter."
Dan chuckled. "And that will be your downfall!" He raised a hand.
Timepiece gasped and raised an arm to block his face.
A green ectoblast hit Dan from the side sending him into another wall.
Timepiece gasped, looking for the person who fired the blast.
Danny and Danni Phantom landed on the sidewalk, Danny's fist still smoking green.
"We really need to get you lessons on fighting," Danni said, shaking her head sadly.
Timepiece's attention wasn't focused on her though. "Danny! You're okay!"
Danny laughed before brushing some strands of white hair out of his eyes. "It takes a lot to take me down."
"Unfortunately."
The trio turned to see Dan starting to get up. Timepiece pulled his hood back up and summoned his staff, pointing it at the futuristic ghost. Danni created two ice swords and pointed them both at him. In between the two, Danny's eyes blazed green along with his hands.
"I guess I should be happy that you didn't die," Dan said, getting up and dusting off his suit. "If you go, I go."
Danny barred his teeth as he felt them sharpen into fangs. "It's over, Dan."
Dan chuckled. "Not quite."
Danni's glare didn't falter. "There's three of us against one of you. It's over."
Dan shook his head chuckling. He walked forward until the trio had to look up at him. "It's not over. Jazz is with her parents and Daniel, Fishtail, and Vlad. But where's Danny Fenton? He should be with them."
Danny looked down for a second before it registered in his brain what Dan was hinting at. "You wouldn't dare!"
"You don't know me very well if you think I wouldn't do that now, do ya?" Dan asked.
Danny let out a yell and flew towards him. Just before he tackled him, Dan disappeared.
"No!" Danny yelled as he fell to his knees on the pavement.
"Danny? Are you okay?" Danni asked, walking up and placing a hand on Danny's shoulder.
The halfa shook his head sadly. "No. No, I'm not. Dan's going to disguise himself as Danny Fenton. Daniel, Fish, and Vlad can't attack him because he'll stick with Mom and Dad. He'll kill them and no one will know that it's him. It's the perfect murder plan." He threw his hands down. "No one will believe it was him because, in their eyes, Danny Fenton wouldn't hurt a fly."
Timepiece snorted, blowing some black and white hair out of his eyes. "Really? 'Cause I've seen him almost destroy a ghost and wipe him out from existence."
The Phantoms shot him a glare. "TIMEPIECE! YOU'RE NOT HELPING!"
The ghost jumped back, his timid behavior returning. "Sorry," he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Our only hope is Danny Fenton making a guest appearance," Danni said, smirking.
Danny looked up, eyes wide. "Danni! You're a genius!" He jumped up and hugged her. He turned around, eyes filled with courage. "C'mon. Danny Fenton's about to make a guest appearance."
….
Jack glanced in the mirror back at the White Hunter, Vlad Masters, and the Phantom look-alike in blue shorts, white flip-flops, and a black and white DP t-shirt, who called himself Fishtail.
"So, um, White Hunter, how long have you been a ghost hunter?" Jack asked, attempting to break the silence that had come over the group.
The White Hunter AKA Daniel looked up. "About a year."
"Why'd you become a ghost hunter?" Jazz asked.
Daniel bit his lip. "That's—that's a sensitive subject."
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Maddie said, realizing that this boy was about her son's age.
Daniel smiled. "No, no, it's fine! A couple of my friends almost got killed by some ghosts. They moved away shortly after." He bit his lip again. "I haven't heard from them since."
Jazz glanced at the ground. She knew who Daniel was and she could guess who those two friends were. That must've scarred him for life.
"Hey, is that Danny?" Maddie asked, pointing ahead.
Daniel, Jazz, Fishtail, and Vlad all looked up. "What?"
"Look!" Maddie told them. "Danny!"
Danny Fenton was in fact standing on the sidewalk up ahead. He was glancing around as if he was looking for something.
"Danny!" Jack said, stopping the GAV. "What are you doing?"
"Hey, Dad!" Danny said. "I was looking for you actually. I heard you were going to hunt a ghost and I wanted to come."
Jack chuckled. "Taking after me, I see? C'mon!"
Danny winced before climbing into the GAV. He was acting normally until he passed Daniel. His hand brushed against the ghost hunter's arm. Immediately, Daniel felt like he was overheating and a jolt of electricity raced through his body.
Danny looked back at Daniel and gave him a fanged smirk as his eyes flashed red. His teeth and eyes returned to normal as he turned around and sat behind his parents.
Jazz, Vlad, and Fishtail had seen the color changing eyes as well.
"That's not Danny, is it?" Jazz asked, eyes wide in fear.
Daniel shook his head. "No. That's Dan. Danny's with Danni and Timepiece."
"Then let's get that excuse for a ghost," Fishtail stated, taking a step.
"No!" Daniel whispered, grabbing the half-merman's arm. "We can't attack him like this. Maddie and Jack will think we're the enemy then!"
Fishtail looked down. Daniel was right.
"If we can get Dan alone, we can take him out," Vlad suggested. "If we keep Dan in his Danny-disguise long enough, the real Daniel might show up and prove to Maddie and Jack that Dan isn't him."
The quartet looked at each other, smirking.
Daniel walked up to Dan and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, Danny?" he said, hating the fact that he had to call the enemy by an ally's name unless he wanted to become an enemy of the Fentons. "Can I talk to you in the bathroom for a second? Alone?"
Dan looked up at him before nodding. "Okay…"
Daniel just managed to turn a smirk into a smile. "Great!" He grabbed the ghost-disguised-as-a-halfa by his wrist and ran into the GAV's bathroom. He shut the door behind them.
"So what do you want to talk—" Dan cut himself off when he heard the whine of an ectogun behind him.
He turned around to see Dan holding an ectogun in his face.
"Wha—what are you doing?" the ghost chuckled uneasily. "It's me. Danny Fenton? You're ally?"
Daniel smirked, not moving his finger from the trigger of the ectogun. "No. You're not Danny Fenton. You're him from an alternate future where his family, friends, and English teacher die in an explosion and he becomes the most powerful and evil ghost to ever exist."
Dan growled, fangs showing and his eyes glowed crimson red. He lunged at Daniel but the ghost hunter smiled and fired the charged ectogun. The ghost was thrown backwards and phased through the wall of the GAV.
Maddie and Jack unfortunately heard the blast. Assuming it was from outside, they parked the GAV and ran out. Vlad, Jazz, and Fishtail looked at each other uneasily before following them.
Daniel was standing over Dan-disguised-as-Danny, hands on his hips and blue eyes cold behind his goggles.
"White Hunter!" Jack yelled. "What are you doing?"
A smirk lit up Dan's face. "He threw me out of the RV!" he accused.
"What?!" Daniel shrieked. "No, I didn't!"
"Yes, he did!" Dan said, getting up and pointing at Daniel. "He's working for that flaming haired ghost."
Fishtail blew some white hair out of his eyes. "The 'flaming haired ghost' is named Dan."
"He's working for Dan!" Danny yelled.
"No, I'm not!" Daniel screeched. "He is!"
"No, he is!"
"He is!"
"He is!"
"He is!"
Maddie and Jack looked between the ghost hunter and their "son", not quite sure who to believe.
"Actually, the White Hunter's right," a very familiar voice added. "Danny's working for Dan. Why? Because 'Danny' isn't Danny."
Everyone turned around to see a familiar raven-haired blue-eyed teenager standing on top of the RV.
Danny Fenton.
Danny took an ice sword from his belt. "And I'm going to prove it." Before anyone could react, Danny threw the ice sword into the air and slammed the heel of his foot with it, causing it to shatter. The shards went flying at Dan and cut him.
Instead of red blood flowing from the cuts, the shards tore through his skin, revealing bluish-green skin beneath his disguise.
Growling, Dan's eyes flashed red. "You got me," he said in his normal deep voice. "Let's take you out now." He threw a fireball at Danny.
The halfa stepped back and closed his eyes. The blast never hit him. He opened his eyes to see a familiar hooded figure standing there, holding a ghost shield up.
"Timepiece?" Danny asked.
The ghost chuckled. "The one and only."
Dan gasped as Daniel, Jazz, Vlad, Danny, Timepiece, Maddie, and Jack turned to him, angry glares on their faces. He chuckled nervously.
Danni Phantom became visible in front of him and delivered a swift kick to his stomach, tearing away some skin there and revealing black and white HAZMAT beneath it.
The ghost girl smirked. "Let's get this party started," she said, charging up a pair of ectoblasts.
