It was so exciting to see Hailey again. But then again, a little strange to meet at a place like Camp Half-Blood. When I first saw her, I thought she was someone else. She had grown a lot. Her hair had gotten longer and curlier, and her bangs were gone. But no matter.

I had been at Camp Half-Blood ever since I left in 2nd grade. I had told everyone I was moving to Wellsley, but that was a cover story.

Hailey enjoyed the tour. She didn't look as surprised or excited as other new campers. She looked like… She had seen it before.

Once we were alone, she told me her secret.

"Have you heard of the Heroes of Olympus series? Or Percy Jackson and the Olympians?" she whispered.

I looked, surprised. Percy Jackson was one of the campers who brought her here. But the title rang a bell. I tugged at the back of my mind for the memory. And I remembered, that day back when I was in third grade, when I was staying home instead of Camp Half-Blood.

One day, I was having a sleepover with one of my old friends, Emily, and she brought a book called The Lost Hero. She said it was really good, and everybody was reading it. I read some of it, and it was actually pretty good. But due to my dyslexia, I didn't get to finish. And when I came back to Camp Half-Blood, I remembered there was a girl name Annabeth Chase, who was exactly like a girl from the book, except she was a few years younger. I had pondered the topic a little, but decided that it was a coincidence. But later I learned demigods don't have coincidences. By then I had almost forgotten it.

"Um, I think. Why?" She gulped.

"The series describes a place called Camp Half-Blood, and 2 of the characters are Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase." My mouth dropped open.

How did the author know?

We decided to keep it a secret for now. So we just went on with the tour and acted like nothing weird was happening.

"So. Since you'll fight a lot of monsters and stuff, you'll need a weapon," I said, standing next to the shed.

"Got that covered." Hailey pulled out a pencil and twirled it. In midair, it transformed into a 4-foot long Celestial Bronze sword.

"You sure did," I said giving her a thumbs-up. "Now you can choose your courses. There are a few required ones, though, like Greek mythology."

Hailey chose sword-fighting, Latin lessons, and arts and crafts. There were a few more, like Greek lessons, of course.

We reached the end of our tour and Hannah had still not been claimed. I hoped she was a child of Aphrodite.

"It's about time for dinner," I said, watching the sun set. Let's go."

I grabbed a plate and a goblet. I thought of what food I wanted and decided on one of my favorite foods, ravioli. Immediately, the plate was a bowl, and a steaming hot bowl of noodles took its place. And for drinks, I chose a fruit smoothie my mom used to make me on hot summer days.

A few people gave me strange looks, wondering how I knew it would automatically fill up. I looked right back at them and told them Sofia had told me.

At first, I had no idea where to sit. But someone pointed out the table for unclaimed kids and I sat there. There were only a few kids, 4 to be exact. There was a little kid named Nathan, who didn't say anything. I supposed he was about 8, 9 years old. There were a pair of talkative twins, Isabelle and Eva, who were about my age. And last, there was an older guy named Daniel, who was about 13 years old. He looked really tired and worn out. Maybe his godly parent was Hypnos?

After dinner, it was time for the sing-along. The songs were really… strange. There was a round about killing a hydra, a song about a grandmother getting dressed for war (like in The Lost Hero), and other songs like that. The s'mores were really good, though. But, of course, Chiron had to introduce me. That was really awkward, and I didn't get claimed, which would've been a good distraction. Then Chiron reminded everyone about the Capture-the-Flag game tomorrow, and the Ares cabin cheered. That marked the end of the campfire, and everybody headed back to their cabins.

The beds were comfy, and the cabins were quiet, but I couldn't sleep. Maybe because I was too shocked. But I also knew demigods never have good dreams, so I have to admit, I was a little scared too. Eventually, I made myself fall asleep, trying to think of gentle, quiet thoughts, like a hammock swinging slowly on the beach. And of course, that just meant dreams.

We were playing Capture-the-Flag, when I saw an army approaching. The army was made up of people wearing armor and purple t-shirts. I assumed they were the Romans. But no one else noticed except me. I tried to warn them, but my voice didn't work. Only the Seven of the Prophecy realized what I was trying to say.

I hadn't seen any of the Seven that day, except Percy and Annabeth, and I had been wondering where Piper, Jason, Leo, Hazel, and Frank were. In my dream, the seven of them, plus me, were trying to stop the incoming attack, but we couldn't. Only when the Romans attacked did the other campers realized there were intruders. We gave up on trying to stop the army, and instead decided to defend instead of attack. A sword appeared in my hand, and suddenly I was dodging and blocking attacks. It wouldn't be long before I got worn out, because I wasn't a strong fighter.

Just as I was about to get overwhelmed, I spotted a face in the crowd. José . He was a boy from my school, and I might of, kind of liked him a bit. Okay, I liked him a lot. He was my crush. Time stopped. It was only me and him. He walked towards me, but not to attack. Then he spoke: "This must be stopped. If it doesn't, then there will be bloodshed. Much bloodshed. The battle itself may not be stopped, but make peace before it is too late." But it wasn't his voice. It was low and bellowing. Then the battle resumed and I woke up. And when José was about to walk away, he spoke in the deep voice again. "I am proud of you, my daughter."
