The Next Morning.
Becca.
A soft beeping coming from somewhere woke me. A small shaft of sunlight came through a gap in the curtains. Not enough for me to gauge the time though. Taylor shifted beside me, but continued sleeping. His light breathing tickled my neck. I shifted a little and felt his arm tighten around me.
The beeping was getting steadily louder then longer it went on. Ugh if that's my phone I'm going to break it. Unless its an emergency I don't like being bothered. Especially not while with Taylor, since we don't see each other as much as we want to.
Shifting onto my back I can look at the bedside table. My silver iPhone sits beside Tay's black one. The digital clock says it's ten after ten in the morning. It's his phone that's beeping.
Stretching out my arm, I can just barely reach the phone. Using my fingertips, I inch it till I can pick it up.
It's the alarm going off. I shut it off, and put the phone back where it was. I guess he forgot to turn the alarm off last night, but we were a little preoccupied.
"Good morning." his voice, heavy with sleep whispers in my ear.
Taylor..
I hear the beeping, and feel Becca shift to get whichever one of our cellphones is emitting the annoying sound. Mine I see when I open my eyes just as she slides the device back onto the bedside table.
I realize it must've been my alarm from yesterday going off cause I forgot to cancel it. Well in my defense I was a little too busy last night to remember.
Oops. But hey I'm up now and I know we don't have any plans today.
"Good morning." I whisper to Becca. She looks up at me from where she lies on her back. Before she can respond I roll so that I am on top of her. Her smile is playful and in a blink she flips us so she's on top of me. I pull her down so I can kiss her.
Alice...
It was past four when Becca came back, a cup of coffee in one hand. She wore black yoga pants and the t-shirt Taylor had worn yesterday. The smell of his cologne still clinging to it.
"Good morning Alice." she said happily. She sipped her coffee as she sat next to me on the sofa. I had a pillow and blanket to make it look like I'd slept there.
Actually I'd spent the night watching movies, just like I'd planned. I'd found several good ones, and was planning a movie night for us girls. A nice sister bonding activity.
"You mean good afternoon." I responded, smiling at her. She laughed. I didn't need Jasper's empathy to feel the happiness that radiated off her.
With Becca next to me I could smell Taylor's scent even stronger. He smelled like night blooming roses, sandalwood and an earthy musk. It was distinct, with the musky scent telling my senses that it was indeed a man I smelled.
Of course it smelled like the finest wine, and a small part of my brain registered thirst. Like an alcoholic in desperate need of a drink, but I reigned it in.
Becca wouldn't hesitate to destroy me if she thought I could be a danger to her lover. I didn't need my gift to know what she'd spent last night doing. Secretly I wondered if Taylor is as good a lover as he is a musician.
Becca
Since we had nothing to do today and were leaving tomorrow, I decided to take Phi and Alice shopping.
"Try this one Momma." Phi said, picking out a beautiful silk wrap dress. It was blood red and fitted.
"Oh these too." Alice said, handing me a pair of matching red heels.
We'd been through several stores and I swear Alice has probably spent thousands of dollars. As have I. We've bought little things for everyone pretty much. Phi picked herself a new dress as well.
Obediently I went to change. Looking into the mirror, I decided to get the dress as it looked great on me. Quickly I snapped a picture of my reflection and sent it to Taylor.
"Beautiful as always, but I can't wait to take it off later." he texted back just as I went out to show the girls.
"Pretty Momma. Daddy's gonna love it." Phi said when she saw me.
"You look amazing Becca." Alice added.
"Okay I am shopped out. How about dinner before we head back?" I asked. Alice and Phi agreed, so we paid for our purchases. I wore the dress out, since I was meeting Taylor again tonight.
Natalie and I had plans for tomorrow before we were due to head our separate ways. I took them to a little Italian restaurant I spotted and remembered going there with Caius a couple times.
Once back at the hotel and alone with Alice in our room I packed up the nerve to ask her about something I'd been thinking about.
"Yes you should. It'll be a shock but it'll be okay." she said before I could say a word.
"You are family, which means so is he." she continued.
"Okay. I'll talk to Tay about it tonight." I said. I had to come clean to the family eventually, and sooner rather then later. After all who knew when Aro might find out about this.
Alice
I knew Becca was nervous about the idea of telling anyone about Taylor. She'd kept him secret to keep him and his family safe. The more who knew, the more chance of something getting back to Aro.
I know the family will be surprised but Becca is a part of this family now too. She loves Taylor. And I don't need Jasper to tell me that he loves her too, just as much.
"You are family, which means so is he." I said. Becca nodded.
"Okay. I'll talk to Tay about it tonight." she replied. She ran a brush through her hair and left. Her departure abrupt but I knew she was just going before she lost her nerve.
Later that night.
Becca.
"Babe." I said softly, catching Tay's attention. He was drifting off.
"Hmmm."
"I think it's time I told my family about us." I said, and waited to let it sink in.
"Are you sure?" he asked, voice no longer sleepy.
"Yes. They'll need to know eventually." I said.
"Doesn't Carlisle already know?" he asked.
"No. Daddy knows we've met, and that we are close, but that's it." I replied. I never told Daddy the truth about us because it wasn't safe for him to know. Nor had I had the chance since I hadn't seen him much after Caius died. Till I went back to live with him, which was when I'd started thinking about how to tell him. He'd delivered Phi, but believed her to be Caius's child.
"Do you need me to come with you?" he asked, shifting onto his back. I moved with him, laying my head on his bare chest. Yes I did, but did I want to put him in a potentially dangerous situation? No I didn't.
My phone rang with the tone I'd set for texts. The message was unsurprisingly from Alice.
"He can come. No one will hurt him." it read.
A.N. Sorry for the long wait, but I've got this story figured out now, so hopefully updates can happen regularly.
