Disclaimer: I do not own Psych or State of Grace. I also do not own Jack or Finn Harries ( I wish I did though).
"Why is Erin mad at Jason?" Lucy asked as she and Logan met back up with Emily and Jack.
"Jason said something in an attempt to embarrass me in front of Jack, here." Emily responded as she turned to look at the two in question; Erin was standing by herself, arms crossed and foot tapping. Jason returned from the drink table, handing her a drink with an apologetic look on his face; Erin looked unsatisfied.
"Yup. She's milking it." Logan laughed.
"Oh, yes she is." Emily smiled, secretly proud of Erin.
"So, what have you guys been up to?" Lucy winked at Emily.
"We've just been getting to know each other." Jack said as he looked down at Emily; she wasn't as short as most gymnasts. She measured around five-foot-six and a half, which was four and a half inches shorter than Jack's height of five-eleven.
"I see, well Lucy and I were thinking about heading over to my place and watching a movie, you guys down?" Logan asked the pair.
"I'm down." Emily said. "Are those two going?"
"Yeah." Logan nodded.
"That's sorted then." Jack smiled, placing a hand on the middle of Emily's back. She turned her head slightly to the side and gave him a smile, letting him know that she was okay with this advance.
"I guess let's just all go in my car; Emily and Jason can take her car." Logan said, leading the way towards his car, grabbing ahold of Lucy's hand, a small smile spread across her face.
The car ride to Logan's was silent except for the music coming out of the speakers. Lucy sat up front next to Logan while Emily and Jack sat a seat apart in the back of the Chevy Tahoe.
Emily wanted to start getting to know Jack but she knew that they couldn't really get to open up with Lucy and Logan so close to them. She turned to look at him. He was looking out the window, a dreamy look on his face as he watched the lightening from the storm that was rolling in, strike through the night sky. He seemed so calm, she couldn't help but smile at this; storms always calmed her down as well.
He turned his head to his right and his eyes met her's. He smiled at her; his smile brought an automatic smile to her face.
"So what movie do we want to watch?" Lucy's voice pulled Jack and Emily out of their staring contest, much to their dismay.
"Uh, doesn't matter to me." Jack responded looking at the blonde girl in front of him.
"What was that movie that you were telling me about, Em?" Logan asked, keeping his eyes on the road. "The one about the Irish Mob."
"Oh! 'State of Grace' with Sean Penn and the amazing Gary Oldman!"
"You like Gary Oldman?" Jack asked, a surprised look on his face.
"I'm actually kind of obsessed with him." She gave a coy smile.
"Seriously? He's my favorite actor." Jack stated with an enormous grin.
"That's awesome!"
Lucy looked over at Logan and raised her eyebrows while Logan responded with a smirk as they pulled up to the Scott's family mansion.
"Alright, everyone out before the storm gets any worse." Lucy said, getting out of the car and running towards the screened in porch.
"You're such a little baby!" Logan called after her.
"Whatever, loser!" Lucy called back. "I'm not the one worried about getting my hair wet!" She shouted back, sticking her tongue out at him.
"Okay! You're asking for it!" Logan ran over to her and pulled her out into the rain.
"Logan!"
Emily and Jack doubled over laughing and ran past the two and walked into the house.
"Hey Mate, we'll go set the film up." Jack shouted.
"Sounds good." Logan called back as he spun Lucy around in the rain and then threw her over his shoulder.
Jack opened the door for Emily and followed her inside.
"I don't think I've ever met a girl who's had Gary Oldman as their favorite actor." He stated as they entered the living room.
"Don't laugh. I've been obsessed with him since he played Sirius Black in Harry Potter."
"You're a fan of Harry Potter?"
"Yeah, who isn't?" She laughed.
"People who think it's the Anti-Christ." He joked as he walked over to look at the movies on the shelf next to the insanely large flat screen.
"How can you not love Harry?" Emily laughed. "Those people are crazy."
"You're telling me." He smiled at her and then turned back to the shelf. "Perks of being a movie producer, huh?" He motioned to the large supply of movies.
"Yeah, when we were younger, Mr. Scott would always take us to movie premieres; he still does, just not as often."
"Well from what I hear, you won't be needing him to take you. I'm pretty sure being an Olympian gets you personal invites."
"I'm guessing the boys told you." She laughed.
"Erin actually." He said. "Ahah! Here it is!" He pulled the movie down off of the shelf and got everything ready. He looked over at Emily. "Shall we go get them?"
"Sure." Emily responded. She had actually forgotten about the others and frankly she didn't mind. "Do you want to go get snacks while I get the others?"
"Sure, you can't watch a movie without snacks." He smiled and walked off towards the kitchen.
Emily got off of the sofa and headed towards the front door but stopped when she heard her phone go off. She unlocked her iPhone and saw that she had two new messages. She opened the first one that was from Juliet. "We need to talk. Tomorrow." She quickly responded with a meeting place and time and pressed send. She opened up the second message, which was from Erin. "Jason and I decided to just hang out alone tonight. I'll see you tomorrow. Have fun with Jackieboy! You deserve it! Love you!"
Emily smirked and decided to text back in the morning, not wanting to interrupt anything that could be going on between the two. She pulled open the front door and saw Logan sitting on the porch swing with a sleeping Lucy in his arms.
"Let me guess, you two aren't going to be watching the movie either." She laughed.
"I'm rather enjoying myself right now." Logan smiled as he looked down at Lucy. "Go get to know Jack."
"Another set up?"
"Of course, Em. Now go." She laughed and turned around and started to walk inside. "Hey Emmy, I went ahead and texted your dad. I told him you were staying here."
"Thanks." Emily responded. Over the past decade and a half this sleepover thing had become a ritual; with a new member being inducted tonight apparently. She walked back into the living room to find Jack setting up everything. "Looks like this is another set up."
Jack's flawless laugh filled the room as he pressed the play button on the remote. "Is that so?"
"Apparently. Do you have a problem with that?" She folded her arms, trying to keep a straight face.
"Oh, of course I do." Jack laughed. He walked over to her and pulled her down with him as he sat down, causing her to squeal.
"Jack!"
"Yes?" He asked with an angelic look on his face.
"You're going to wake up Logan's family!"
"They're out of town." A smirk formed on his face.
"Oh." She smiled up at him, she started smiling even more when she realized that his arms were still around her tightly. He showed no signs of letting go.
"So tell me about yourself?"
"Uh, it's a long story." She said.
"There's nowhere I'd rather be." He moved so he was facing her but was still able to keep her in his arms.
"I'll make you a deal." He nodded, telling her to continue. "I tell you about myself and then you tell me about yourself, deal?"
"Sounds good to me." He replied.
And so she began; she told him everything about herself and her life. She didn't know if she should tell him about Shawn, she decided to tell him about that later if they ended up turning into anything. She spent about thirty minutes telling him about her likes and dislikes, about her goals and gymnastics and where she wanted it to take her and about New York. "That's me in a nutshell."
"Well, when you make it to the Olympics, I'll be there supporting you." He promised.
"Thank you." She smiled and leaned into him more. "Your turn, England."
"Is that my nickname now?" He laughed as she nodded. "So where do I start? I have two siblings; a twin brother called Finn and a little sister called Emmy, who's twelve. Finn's my best friend and I don't know where I'd be without him. I'm pretty close to Emmy, too. About a year ago, Finn and I started making YouTube videos. We've always made little videos, but we finally decided to share them with people. I miss London, a lot. More than I thought I would." He watched as Emily tried to keep her eyes open. "Either I'm boring you or you're really tired."
"You're not boring me. Even though you miss London a lot, I'm really glad you're here." She smiled.
Jack moved over so Emily was lying on the inside of the couch and he laid down next to her, pulling her closer to him. He brushed the hair out of her face and smiled at how beautiful she looked as she was falling asleep.
"Hey Emily?"
"Mhm?" She responded, eyes still closed.
"I'm glad I was lucky enough to get to spend time with you tonight."
"Me, too." She smiled and they both fell asleep, the movie completely forgotten.
