A/N: so Mikazuki is on the run with Hinata after a bad incident with Hiroshi , to where you have to read to find out. :p
I carried Hinata as far away as I could running to I had no clue where, just as long a she was away from that place and away from him. The heaviness I was feeling inside of me started to subside and my breathing slowed. It seemed the longer I ran the more I became myself again. I ran past the village into the forest on the other side and kept going and going, faster and faster I went. The breeze of the night air hitting my face as I ran. I felt I had to protect Hinata with my own life no matter the costs.
Eventually I had to slow my pace as I remembered I was still carrying the fragile Hinata in my arms. I saw that her tears had dried and her face was still reddened where she was struck, I could tell it was going to leave a mark if gone untreated. Her eyes were closed but she was not asleep according to her heart rate. She was relaxed and enjoying the breeze too. I came to a halt next to a waterfall. The water seemed to glow a brilliant blue in the night and the fireflies buzzed radiantly in the air all around.
I set Hinata on her feet and helped her stand. Her legs were a bit shaky at first but she held her ground. She walked to the water and sat by the edge and I stood behind her. "You know y-you didn't h-have to d-do that for me." I got slightly angered by her words "Yes I did…" "But I t-thank you for it. Nobody h-has stood up to m-my father like that b-before." She interrupted me. She talked more to her hands in her lap than to me. "But it w-was a foolish thing t-t-to do. You have a-angered the Hyūga name. They aren't an f-family to r-reckoned with…. I s-should know."
I scoffed at her words. "I'm not scared of them. Let them come and find me. And when they do, I'll be ready. Nobody and I mean nobody raises a hand to my friend and gets away with it without the due consequences." The words flowed like the wind out of my mouth, not a second thought or doubt in them. Hinata looked up at me and smiled and nodded, understanding me speech. I sat beside her and took off my sandals and put my feet in the water. We were quiet listening to the insects buzz past and hearing the crickets chirp, just enjoying the nature around us.
I cupped some water in my hands and reached up to Hinata's face. I placed the cool water on her reddened cheek. She flinched at the touch at first then leaned into it once it started soothing it. I continued this until the redness went away for the most part. "Thank y-you Mika-chan." I nodded. "it's Mikazuki." She wiped her head real fast to look at me, the ends of her hair caught my eye. She was wide-eyed. "W-when?" I looked down. "At the training ground. When I we were sparing." "So that's why you….and that's when I" she looked down at the water. "Yeah, I guess." I sighed. "What was t-that stuff?" I shook my head and looked at her "I have no clue, but whatever it was, I hope it doesn't happen again." She nodded in agreement.
I leaned over and dipped my arms into the water washing the dried blood from the nail marks in my skin. I scrubbed it all off just leaving slight pink semi-circles on my arm. Hinata stared at me and tilted her head. "I guess I don't know my own strength heh?" I tried to force a sloppy smile but I could tell that she didn't buy it. Deep in my mind I knew those words had more meaning behind it then I knew. It was emphasized by the echo ringing in my head, say it over and over. 'I guess I don't know my own strength... I guess I don't know my own strength... I don't know my own strength... I don't know my own strength... my own strength... my own strength.' I let out a sigh and shook my head. I took a look at Hinata who was just staring into the water, watching the amphibian life move about.
Without thinking I slipped into the water walking towards the water fall. "W-what are you doing?" Hinata asked. I shrugged my shoulders and looked back "I don't know, what are you doing." I snickered. She just looked at me with her head slightly to the side in confusion. I kicked my leg back and splashed her with water. "ek" she squealed. I laughed "come on I want to show you something." She wiped the water off of her face "W-what?" I stopped, I really didn't know what it was I just knew I wanted to show her something. "I don't know," I was being honest. "Just come on." I grabbed her arm and pulled her into the knee deep water.
I dragged her to the waterfall and let her arm go. I started at it for a while then I closed my eyes and let my memories take over. I unknowingly did a few hand signs and chanted, opening a hole in the waterfall. The glowing water shifted out of the way and opened a damp cave lite with multiple glowing crystals on the walls. "shh" I hush Hinata as we entered. I didn't know why I hushed her but I just knew we had to be quiet when entering. There was a distant humming bouncing off of the walls that I could hear, I looked to Hinata to see if she heard it too, but I read nothing off of her face.
I motioned to my ears asking her if she could hear it, and she shook her head saying she didn't hear anything. We made our way to the back of the cavern hitting a wall of black soot. I touched it and felt the grain in my hand and sniffed it. "We're here." The humming got quieter and I inhaled remembering this smell. I exhaled and turned to Hinata, she was looking all around the cave admiring the glowing walls. A mixture of emotions hit me that I did not understand, anger, fear, excitement, curiosity, no, was it power? I had no clue, I put my hands on my temples trying to figure all of it out. I took a step back then forward then I snapped out of it.
I looked back to the wall and placed my hand on it. I closed my eyes and focused on my memories. A vision flashed in my mind. I saw myself in the same position and I saw myself open my mouth and say. "Kuchi o ake nasai." The voice echoed in my head and throughout the cavern. The wall my hand was on shook slightly and disappeared from my touch. I opened my eyes to see it was gone. I looked around and found Hinata with her eyes wide and her hands placed over her mouth.
I gave her a confused look and tilting my head to the side wondering what she was gawking at. I squinted and bent my knees and returned my head to see in front of me. Then my face mirrored hers. Behind the wall as a tunnel with walls engraved with different symbols I couldn't decipher. I took a step towards the hall and felt a shockwave go through me. I jerked backwards next to Hinata. I motioned forward and she felt and did the same thing. We stood side by side wondering what it was. It wasn't painful but overpowering in a way unknown to me.
I shook my head and entered the tunnel fully shivering when I passed the wall of unidentified wave of power. I only took about four steps to get out of it completely. Hinata had a kunai in her hand and followed closely behind. My eyes widened and I grabbed it from her and threw it back into the cavern we just came from. I put my finger over my lips to show her to stay quiet and I nodded to show her it was alright. I took her hand and we both disappeared into the darkness of the passageway.
A/N: and another chapter completed! why did they have to be quiet in the tunnel? was there something/someone else in there hiding, waiting for them? or was it just waiting for Mikazuki to return? Why did she throw away Hinata's kuni? How come Mikazuki could hear the buzzing but Hinata couldn't?
these are all questions that can be answered, but only of you read on!
as always please review and tell meh what you tink! :3
