Chapter 15
It had been a few days since Connor had woken up, and Frankie had been going in and out of hospital constantly to see him and how he was doing, and he'd tell her everything about the day and the doctors giving him a psychological exam so they could alter his medication and possibly get him home, Mike had joined Frankie at the hospital a few times, to discuss everything with the doctors etc.
Frankie knew today was important, Connor would be getting the results back from his examination. She really hoped they'd just change his anti-depressants and leave it at that, keeping him in hospital any longer would just make things worse.
On a side note, Frankie was still unsure about the idle gossip about a new person joining the Dumping Ground. Apparently, he was meant to be arriving today, she just hoped he wasn't another Blake.
Mike had gathered everyone in the living room, so Frankie guessed the rumours were true, as Tyler was sitting happily in the corner about not having to share anymore.
"Okay everyone, this is Elliot, I want you all to make him feel welcome." Mike announced, entering the lounge attracting attention from the entire room.
The boy standing next to Mike looked about fifteen, his blonde hair was straight and he gave off a "skater" vibe for Frankie, he wore skinny jeans and checked vans with a plaid button up shirt with its sleeves rolled up. He had a similar sized expander in his ear to Frankie. His eyes were the most mesmerising blue/green colour.
Mike left the room and Frankie had to stop herself from just looking at him, even the way he looked was intriguing for her.
"Are you an emo or something?" Acid scoffed. Elliot just froze in the doorway; he looked incredibly uncomfortable and slightly offended by Acid's obnoxious question.
"Are you not going to answer her?" Imogen asked. "That's a bit rude, isn't it?"
Most of the room just giggled as the questions and torment continued. It was starting to make Frankie feel uncomfortable, never mind Elliot.
Elliot just grabbed his bag and walked out, receiving a lot of "Oooohs" from the rest of house. Frankie just rolled her eyes, they really were immature sometimes.
"Johnny, you have to share your room with a freak." Tyler laughed.
"Tough luck, Johnny." Acid giggled.
"Have you seen the state of him though, proper minging." Carmen added. .
Frankie just scoffed in disgust.
"What's the matter with your face?" Imogen asked.
"You guys are so unfair." Frankie rolled her eyes, she then gathered her stuff and walked out, and she needed to get ready to visit Connor in anyways.
As she was walking up the stairs, she saw a book laying on the stairs
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Frankie smiled, remembering reading that book when her mother gave it to her a few weeks before she was in care. A book she treasured greatly, though, this wasn't her copy, so she could only assume it was Elliot's, as she assumed that the rest of the Dumping Ground kids didn't have a liking for literature, or reading in general.
She slumped up the stairs and went over to Johnny's room, hoping that was where he was. Holding the book in her hand, she knocked on the door. She waited a few moments in the silence before turning on her heel to walk away, just as the door opened. Frankie spun round and saw Elliot standing in the doorway.
"Hi, I assume this is yours?" Frankie asked handing the book over to the slightly taller boy.
"Yeah, I must've dropped it, thanks." The boy replied; he sounded fed up already.
"I didn't get to properly introduce myself before because of the morons. I'm Frankie by the way."
"Frankie, short for Francesca, no?" Elliot questioned.
"Yeah, but I hate it, it's awfully posh." Frankie shrugged. "Great choice by the way," Frankie said directing her attention to the book.
"Thanks, must've read it about three times already."
"It's always going to be a favourite of mine." Frankie replied with a small smirk on her face.
"I see what you did there, kudos."
"I do try." Frankie replied. She looked up a little to see Elliot staring at her bandaged hand. "Oh, yeah, it's broken."
"What?"
"My hand, busted it." Frankie shrugged.
"Oh, look, I'm sorry…"
"…don't be" Frankie giggled at Elliot's panic. "It's a broken hand, it's not like I've just done it."
"If you don't mind me asking, how did that even happen?"
"Well, you've already met the people who live here, they're arseholes, and it was either punching a wall and getting a broken hand, or punching one of them, and getting arrested for assault. I'm avoiding a criminal record if I can."
"Walls bite back you know." Elliot joked.
"I never would've guessed." Frankie replied sarcastically. "I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed."
"You seem to be more intelligent than most in this shed, and I've been here less than half a day." Elliot shrugged.
"And you're sharing with one, lucky you." Frankie replied sarcastically.
"It's their fault; they say I'm not allowed a room on my own." Elliot sighed, pulling an inhaler from his pocket.
"See it's the opposite with me." Frankie shrugged. "I'm not allowed to share, not that I'm complaining. At least you don't have to share with Tyler anymore."
Elliot just looked at her with a confused look, unsure of which moron was Tyler.
"Short kid, curly hair, weird t-shirts."
"Ah yeah, was I going to share with him?" Elliot asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, I don't know if I was meant to tell you about it or not but whatever, at least Johnny is slightly less of an idiot."
"Well that's comforting." Elliot replied sarcastically.
Frankie quickly pulled her phone out to check the time, her eyes widened at the fact it was nearly 2:30 and she was going to see Connor as soon as possible, today was a big day.
"You have somewhere to be, right?" Elliot replied chuckling slightly. "Everyone has the same 'oh shit I'm late' face, not matter who they are."
Frankie nodded. "We should talk more when I get back; I like to have some intelligent conversation from time to time."
"Promise?" Elliot asked playfully.
The word promise was something Frankie seemed to throw around too much, though she'd make an exception in this case.
"Promise."
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've had a HUGE amount of work to do, and obviously that is priority, thanks to CharlieSMarts12 for reviewing my chapters ^_^
Hopefully updates will become more regular, and I'm thinking of starting a fic around season 2 of TDG with a different OC of mine, but how would you guys think about it?
