Chapter Seven
Both men started walking fast towards the small cottage. It seemed none the less abandoned, and it was covered in vines and branches that went into the roof. The windows were dusty and some were even broken, small gaping holes letting the air go through. Draco felt a shiver running down his spine and looked away from the house, before his eye caught smoke.
"H-Potter!" he hissed and tugged at his sleeve, holding his wand in his hand.
"Hmm?" Harry said and looked at him.
"There's smoke coming out of the house!" Draco noted and pointed at the smoke he'd seen.
Soon enough a loud bang was heard, along with a scream, and the whole cottage lit up, the fire finally becoming visible.
"Scorpius!" Draco yelled and started running faster towards the house, his wand always at his hand.
Harry ran after him immediately, trying to stop him from getting another panic attack, but something told him that Draco's instincts were stronger to save his son, rather than himself. And he admired the blond for that.
As soon as Draco reached the door, he smashed it open with a spell and backed away as flames came at him. "Scorpius!" he screamed.
This felt exactly like his nightmare. Scorpius was tied on a chair, with a blindfold around his eyes and he was shaking and hopeless in the middle of the fire. The fire didn't seem to affect him though.
"Scorpius?" Draco breathed in a rasped voice.
"He'll be alright." A voice reassured and the taping of a wand was heard.
Scorpius screamed more as the flames went higher and whooshed around him. "D-Dad?!" he cried.
"I'm here, I'm right here!" Draco yelled.
"Oh, don't bother. He can't hear us, nor see us for that matter." The voice cackled again and she made her appearance from somewhere between the flames.
"You." Draco spat as soon as he saw the woman.
"Mhm." Ginny said, yawning. "You bore me, Malfoy. Say something more interesting, please?"
"You absolute bitch! Leave my son alone, he's done nothing to you!" Draco screamed angrily at her.
"Oh, boo hoo. Like I would do all that to just let him live." Ginny laughed.
Draco lost the ground under his feet at the sound of that. "If you hurt him, I swear to god." He growled. He wasn't afraid of the fire that surrounded him, even though he'd walked right into it. The fire was strangely not burning him, so he figured it was an illusion. But Scorpius was screaming and begging for help. And where the hell had Harry gone?!
"You caused too much to my parents and to my family. You will now pay." Ginny said dangerously.
"I did nothing to you! It's not my fault that my damned father cursed you! He's dead, he died in Azkaban. Isn't that what you wanted?!" Draco bellowed. His father hadn't lasted in prison, and after three years of imprisonment he'd died. His mother had remained strong for the following five years after the death of her husband, but soon she gave out and became ill, until she found rest during Draco's 27th year of age. Ten years later, it still hurt to remember it.
"Oh really? Well what about turning my husband into a bloody poof and making him sleep with every blond male he could ever find until he got over his obsession for you?!" Ginny screamed frantically at him, her whole figure starting to shake.
Draco stared at her in shock. "I… what?!" he gasped. "My son is in danger because you think I 'turned' your husband gay?! Are you out of your bloody mind?!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
Ginny started laughing hysterically. "You are the reason my brother got killed. You are the reason my one and true love almost dumped me during the war, but I made him believe that he needed me to stop being broken. You are the reason he divorced me to go off and sleep with dirty sluts, until he could find the balls to be with you. You are the reason that both my families were torn apart, Draco Malfoy. You and your evil family, you bloody bastard!" she said, her eyes shining from the tears that had formed there, along with the madness that had overrun her.
"You pathetic little bitch." Draco glared. "My father was the one who almost killed you. My father was the one who got the damned snake that attacked your father. Voldemort was the one who sent his damned Death Eaters to attack Hogwarts, along with Fred." He breathed.
Ginny moved forward and pressed her wand at his neck quickly. "I don't give a damn who did it. You're the only one that I want to kill." She hissed.
"Do it then. But let Scorpius go." Draco glared and turned to look at the chair.
The chair was empty, and the only evidence of anyone being here were the slashed ropes and the cut blindfold.
In the meantime, during the fight that had developed between Ginny and Draco, Harry had snuck into the house from another entrance. He had been able to form an illusion that kept the fire up only for the other two to see, sneaking behind Scorpius's chair and cutting off the ropes.
"Who are you?" Scorpius croaked, blinking rapidly.
"I'm Harry Potter. I came to save you." Harry said softly.
"H-Harry Potter… Wow." Scorpius breathed.
"Yes. Now, we'll find you a place to hide. The fire is fake, see? We'll make you hide and I will go and save your father as well. Then we can take you back to your home." Harry reassured.
"I-I'm really sorry." Scorpius whispered in a broken sob.
"Kid, it's not your fault. She's kind of a lunatic. Been that way since we divorced… Even before that, actually." Harry sighed and looked at the small blond.
Harry only just noticed how much the boy looked like his father. He'd been searching for a while to find that shade of blond that only the Malfoys had, but he could never find it. He wouldn't deny that he indeed had had a crush on Malfoy for longer than he wished. He had hoped that by marrying Ginny he would get over it. Up until a certain age, Ginny seemed appealing to him. If he ignored the hair and the non-flat chest after she hit puberty, he could easily see the appeal of her. She was playing Quidditch, she was fierce, she was tough; pretty much like a boy, but with long hair and boobs.
It had always struck Harry as wrong to look at his dorm mates. They were practically like brothers. But he couldn't help trying to steal a glance at the others around him when he was in the showers. He often stayed longer in the showers just because he ended up imagining those chests heaving and those bodies moving with his. He'd then been convinced that he was a sick pervert and found it proper to date Ginny, rather than try getting over it any other way.
Harry had forbid himself to talk about any of that to anyone. He had found it best to swallow those thoughts and forget about it. After all, it was just the lack of a strong father figure that made him seek for a male; that was all. He felt so sick of himself for sleeping with Ginny and imagining that it was another person. That's why love making was really rare between them. And that's why she'd caught him fucking a blond right into their couch during one night that he was drunk. That was another story.
"Mr Potter?" Scorpius said in a small voice. The man had dozed off for a long while, after only just touching Scorpius's hair, and the boy was starting to fear.
"Hmm?" Harry said softly.
"Y-You kind of dozed off." Scorpius muttered.
"Sorry, we better get going now. Stay somewhere hidden, I'll deal with Ginny." Harry said, shaking his head as if to clear it.
Scorpius nodded and waited for something to happen.
"Wh-Where did he go?!" Draco said in terror. The chair had been empty for what seemed like ages.
"If you pull any tricks, Malfoy, I'm killing you and your spawn." Ginny glared and pointed her wand towards the chair.
As if on cue, Harry jumped out of the shades, disarming Ginny who was still in a mental state and throwing her to the floor. Ginny tried fighting him off, but he held her on the floor.
"This isn't over!" she screamed frantically as she moved her hands and legs in a way that seemed childish.
"It's over, Ginny." Harry said calmly and quickly cast a spell at her, making her fall unconscious. He bound her with some ropes and kept her unconscious before ending completely the spells that created the fake fire.
"Dad!"
That sound made Draco turn around faster than ever, getting over his overall shock pretty quickly only to be hugged around his waist by his son. "My sweet son." He breathed and fell to his knees, hugging Scorpius tightly and hiding his face into the boy's neck. "Oh Scorpius, I missed you so much…" Draco breathed and held him tightly.
Harry got up, dusting off his hands and making the paralyzed and bound Ginny float next to him. "Are you both okay?" he asked.
Draco nodded and kissed the top of Scorpius's head. "Thank you." He breathed and kept hugging Scorpius.
"Pardon me?" Harry gasped.
"I said thank you, you bloody git." Draco growled and shoved him gently, happy tears forming in his eyes.
Harry smiled. "No problem at all." He said.
Scorpius remained hidden in his father's arms, staying there and sobbing silently, chanting 'I'm sorry' into his father's shirt.
"Shhh, baby, it's okay." Draco whispered and hugged him tighter, rubbing his back soothingly.
Harry sighed. It was all finally over.
The three of them strode into the Ministry, with Harry holding Ginny's bound and paralyzed body as he carried her to the Minister.
He told Draco and Scorpius to wait outside for him as he knocked on Kingsley's door.
"Come in!" the reply came and Harry walked in.
"Harry, what a nice surprise-" Kingsley said but soon his words dropped to the floor as he saw the unconscious woman. "What happened to her, why is she bound? Did she get attacked?" he asked in worry.
"On the contrary, she attacked Draco Malfoy's son, threatened to kill both of them, and set illusionary fire spells on an old cottage. If Malfoy and I didn't get there in time, the kid would've been dead and the illusion of flames and fire would've attracted Muggles to a wizard area." Harry said formally.
"Dear Merlin, did she really…?" Kingsley gasped.
Harry nodded. "And all that for… childish reasons of hers, as she tried explaining some of them." He informed him.
"What do you wish that is done in this case?" Kingsley said.
"I want restraining orders for me and Draco's family. And I wish her to be removed from the country as soon as possible. I also wish for full custody over my kids, until she's treated into correct mental health and is capable of taking care of them again." Harry said bitterly. He honestly hadn't wanted to end it this way, but Ginny was dangerous if she remained on the loose and able to hurt people.
Kingsley nodded. "Anything else?" he asked.
"I wish for none other than me, you and the two Malfoys, to know of this incident." Harry added in a formal tone.
"Very well, Harry. I'll make sure she's treated back into a safe mental health. And trust me, nobody will ever know any of this happened." Kingsley promised.
"Thank you, Minister. It means a lot." Harry said and bowed his head gently before he saw Kingsley pressing a button that sent in two guards who took Ginny away to lock her up until everything was done.
Harry left the office after thanking Kingsley again and walked to find Draco and his son.
"Restraining orders, custody over my kids until she's alright, and banning from the country. That'll end our problems." Harry announced once he found them.
"Honestly, Potter, thanks. You saved my son, and me. I don't know how to thank you." He said. Though, he already kind of knew. If Ginny was telling the truth, then Harry still had that long awaited crush on him, and still wanted to be with him. The thought terrified him; mostly because he had always thought that Harry had been hating him since their first year.
"You can forgive me for being insufferable all those years and let me ask you to be my friend?" Harry suggested.
"I thought you'd never say it." Draco smirked and stood up, shaking his hand.
Harry laughed. "Come on, let's get you both home, so I can finally finish that pile of work that I have on my office." He said.
Draco nodded and picked up Scorpius in his arms, even though the boy protested of being old enough to walk on his own and not be carried; Draco still wanted to hold his son forever, make sure he wouldn't lose him again.
"Thanks again for everything, Potter, really." Draco said as he closed the door to Scorpius's room. The boy had taken a shower, and then he'd proceeded to apologize a million times to his father before finally falling asleep in his bed.
"Don't mention it, that's what Aurors are for. They help banish any crime and dark magic. What she used was cruelty and threats and a bit of dark magic that she wasn't aware of." Harry reasoned.
"She… she mentioned some things, about you." Draco said shyly after a small pause.
"Oh?" Harry questioned.
"She said that she knew of the crush you had on me. And that she found you sleeping with blond males, just because you had an obsession with me." He mumbled and avoided eye contact.
Harry froze on the spot. "You didn't believe her, did you?" he asked.
"Well, I wouldn't have believed her, but…. You see, I kept finding green eyed males just to get over my obsession for you, so…" Draco said in the lowest of voices, his cheeks turning bright red.
Harry looked at him and started feeling something that he couldn't explain. He moved closer and lifted the blond's chin with his hand, staring into his eyes. He said nothing more, and he pressed his lips to the blond's. And then, everything fell into place.
Draco was in shock at first, but soon he got over it, wrapped his arms around the brunette's neck and kissed him deeply and passionately.
When they both broke off, Draco was panting and Harry's cheeks were flushed. "I still despise you, Potter." Draco breathed, looking dazed and breathless, resting his head on Harry's shoulder.
"Feeling's mutual, Malfoy." Harry smirked and pecked his lips one last time before shaking Draco's hand. He had slipped a small piece of paper with his phone number in his hand, and then he walked out of the house.
Draco stood still and watched the door closing behind Harry. He broke into a smile as he realized he had been given a phone number, along with the lines that read: "Call me"
