Hate to See You Lose

Kise VS Takumi

Takumi breathed in and out, clearing his thoughts and mind of anything, just basketball running through his head. His eyes were closed, his posture was down, and he stood at the three-pointer line of the basketball court. Kuroko stared with great interest at his brother's relaxed form. He was so entranced by him; he didn't notice the sudden movement of his body.

Takumi moved like as fast as a bullet and as smooth as water. If you were paying attention closely it looked like it was something in slow-motion. His jump was not as magnificent as Kagami's but it did the trick as he did a turn-around dunk. He landed on the ground, it had taken very little time to complete the move and it had been too fast.

"Taku-kun," Kuroko began, he saw Takumi pick up the ball and look at him. "Don't be too hard on Kise-kun," Takumi smiled warmly and nodded. Kagami then entered the court with water bottles in a cooler.

"No one here yet?" he asked as he set the stuff down, the siblings shook their heads. Behind Kagami were their mascots, who Kagami had to walk with. "What's with you weirdo's and dogs…" he asked, a little irritated, good thing he was 'overcoming' his fear.

"Kurokocchi! Kagamichii and…" Kise turned to see the midnight blue haired young man. "Takumichii," he finished. Behind Kise, Kasamatsu entered, he heard stuff about the kid but he truly didn't know much about him.

"Kise-kun, Kasamatsu-senpai, hello," Kuroko greeted, Kagami merely gave a wave and Takumi smiled at the two.

"Nice to meet you, my name's Kuroko Takumi," Takumi introduced himself to Kasamatsu with a fair bow. Kasamatsu repeated the greeting.

"I've heard lots about you, I hope I can see some of those rumors in the court now that this idiot no longer just bugs me about Kuroko but his brother as well," Kasamatsu smiled. Takumi laughed a little.

"Hope I don't disappoint," he answered back. Kise was glomping Kuroko in the background. Soon the court started filling up, the rest of the Generation of Miracles made their entrance as well as Riko, Hyuuga and Kiyoshi from Seirin, Momoi, Alex, Takao and Himuro. Akashi looked to make sure everyone was ready and then he blew a whistle.

"Okay, I've change the rules a bit to quicken the pace of the games. So the first one to score 10 points wins, all shooting spots will be worth a point, understood?" Kise and Takumi nodded, Takumi then began stripping.

"Takumichii! What are you doing?!" everyone stared at the shirtless toned upper body of Takumi, Alex taking pictures. Akashi's eyes widened slightly at the smooth look of his chest and the tattoo that decorated his back. Kise was point blank blushing.

"Well, it's hot here so I'm going to play shirtless," he answered, his hand was on his belt buckle. It was true, the weather was rather hot. Kuroko and Kagami were probably the only ones unfazed, kind of. Takumi removed his pants, where he had his basketball shorts under.

"Takumichii, I will not go easy on you," Kise declared as they stood in front of each other, it seemed that Takumi had grown in the last wile for he look taller now.

"I don't expect you to," he smiled. Akashi stared at the two, amber eyes were fill with nervousness as well as determination and hazel eyes held tranquility and fight. Akashi threw the ball on the air.

It was Kise's ball. He decided to come under Takumi's arm and head for the hoop since he seemed to still be on air but the moment he went under, Takumi's hand had grabbed the ball on his first dribble. Kise stared at his empty hands for a bit before noticing he had nothing and Takumi was already shooting the ball, it went in smoothly. Kise's eyes filled with panic they were not a damn minute into the game and he had already scored him.

Kise flared, he gritted his teeth, and they checked the ball and Kise trespassed him. Takumi's eyes widened at the sudden speed Kise had taken, soon he saw it, he was about to replay his move but with a little more force. It was not like he was going to let it happen, the ball had barely touched the rim before Takumi knocked it off with his right, and grabbing it with his left, with a hard landing, he dribbled down the court with Kise hot on his heels, he threw from where he stood a little behind the three-pointer line and yet, the ball went in.

Midorima's eyes widened, this guy was an all court shooter, somehow like him, except for the fact that he extended his shots to dunks and lay-ups as well. The score was now 2-0. Kasamatsu was impressed, he had seen a game this intense, when it was a team vs a team, this was one on one and it was intimidating. It didn't help that passerby's were now stopping by, slowly the outside of the court was getting viewers, there were some girls who had recognized Kise and some after 'the shirtless hottie' but there was also some primary kids as well as adults.

They had checked and now were getting ready to start the next get to. Takao stared at the two bodies, it almost seemed like the two were dancing with all their moves and speed. Kise being the one lacking the talent, he wasn't going to let Takumi win, he already got bullied as the weakest, he wasn't going to let this one go. Takumi had the ball again, it hurt to see Kise's determination but he had to wear him down and worse of all, destroy that determination. Kise heard Takumi let out a small growl from the back of his throat, as if mad. Amber eyes widened at Takumi's form, it was truly a sight, his body, face and everything, just went so well together.

"Sorry Kise, but I need to play Midorima today as well and I promised to take Taka to the park later," Takumi said. It took a split second for Takumi to go out, he went past Kise and scored, the game stayed intense, Akashi's calculating eyes watching every move Takumi took. Alas, it all had to end, with Takumi letting Kise through with one shot and he on his ninth, Kise knew he couldn't win.

He dunked hard, Kise's eyes wide in surprise from the power Takumi had, those wings on his back seemed almost real, he landed on the ground, a shadow covering his features. Kise felt it, the water forming at the ends of his eyes. He was going to cry, he was beaten, again. He saw Takumi heading towards him, he fell on his knees, Kasamatsu was coming to help him but stopped when Takumi went on his knees in front of Kise.

"Kise, you're truly a magnificent player, I know you are, so when we play again, show me all those moves you tried to copy, converted into your own, after all, that's your style," he ruffled his hair and helped him up. Kise sniffed before hugging Takumi.

"Thank you," was all he said before walking off the court, Kasamatsu patted his back. He wasn't crying anymore, he was smiling, he chugged some water down and then looked at Kuroko. "I didn't win, so as promised, I'll accept Kurokocchi's relationship with Kagamicchi," Kise smiled, one of those sincere, true smiles which just made him seem more handsome. Kuroko smiled back and gave him a small hug.

"Thank you, Kise-kun," Kuroko thanked him, Takumi was back on his and Kagami's side chugging water. On the other side, Midorima stood up.

"I expect a great game, Kuroko," both Kuroko's turned around. "Ah, Takumi," Midorima pointed at the taller Kuroko. The both nodded,

"Let's do this," Takumi grinned. Takao smiled and for some reason, he could feel Midorima's loss already. Midorima walked to the court confidently, his lucky item today was a basketball, his place, last, and Aquarius was in first place. Akashi came to start the game once again, repeated the rules and the game went from a dance to a very… classical and all court point game. Truly, this seemed like something you would see in those unbelievable shot videos.

Midorima VS Takumi

Surprise was evident in everyone's faces, the two were moving slow, unlike the moving game of Kise and Takumi, this game depended on great accuracy and who got the ball first. It was a little boring actually… it only got heated up when the two were at five points. Kagami wanted to burst out laughing, Kise had been hold back by speed and such and here was Midorima actually scoring against the teenager, that or Takumi was cooling off and so… the game took up heat.

"Midorima, you don't like one-on-ones?" Takumi asked, every time he grabbed the ball he didn't even make effort to try to steal it or anything he just let him shoot, and so did Takumi to try to understand, he saw the green-haired teen reddened a bit.

"Well, I usually play with the team and practice solo," Midorima said as he stood in front of Takumi. Takumi seemed to pout.

"Awe… Come on~ twy to steal it pwease?" Takumi tried to encourage the older teen who reddened a bit more.

"W- Why?" Takumi pointed at the audience who had already lost interest in the game and were talking about other things. Midorima's mouth widened.

"I can't believe it!" he said, not too loud for them to hear. Takumi saw how his shoulders went from stiff to more relaxed, Takumi's eyes widened for a split second, there were not any more by passers stopping, they had left (and many clapped) after the end of the match with Kise.

"Midorima, are you shy to play one on one in front of people?" Midorima stared at Takumi in disbelief.

"W- What…" he didn't finish his sentence before Takumi dribbled the ball and threw it at him.

"We're on 5-5 right now, let's play a game only we can remember, show me the other styles of Midorima Shintarou," Takumi's smile made Midorima's cheeks pink but he gave an ever so small smile.

"Hmph, I'll show you Takumi," and while everyone ignored their game, they played like children. Trying to steal the ball from each other and complimenting each other on every throw, Takumi scored his sixth with a backward throw, they checked it and when Takumi saw Midorima getting ready to shoot his usual three-pointer he went to stop it but instead, Midorima ducked under and… ran and dunked it. Takumi was left amazed at the sight of Midorima dunking, something truly amazing to see in his point of view and very out of character as well. Midorima landed and turned to Takumi who patted his back.

They checked again, it was almost funny how most of the 'audience' had been in completely different subjects that they missed the great shot. Midorima did two lay ups, landing him in now eight points, Takumi did a dunk and lay up as well as a half-court shot. He was at nine points, it was amazing how Midorima was sweating from actually playing and having fun.

"Sorry Midorima but I will finish with my signature dunk now," Takumi said, Midorima ran after him and when he was about to jump and sunk like usual, Midorima knocked the ball out of his fingers, Takumi eyes widened as he saw Midorima about to perform his all court shot, so this time it was Takumi that went and knocked the ball off the air since it had just been thrown. Landing in the ground quickly, he ran to his net, for a reason, he really didn't want to believe that he would end a game with a lay-up but that was it. It went in, it was 10. Takumi managed to get the ball as it fell, Midorima stopped. Takumi threw the ball at him, he caught it and then he smiled at him. Takumi looked to the side, this time the pink tinted his cheeks.

"That was a great game, Midorima," he heard Midorima chuckle. He actually chuckled, the guy looked so serious he didn't know if that was normal or his imagination.

"Takumi, last time I had fun was sometime in middle school and that was because of Kuroko. Today I lost but I gained a friend so it's okay, luck will be with you," Midorima's hand rested on Takumi's shoulder. Takumi smiled wide.

"I'm glad you consider me a friend," so the two walked to the audience who had just gotten back on them when the game ended (except Akashi, because he sees everything). Midorima turned towards Kuroko.

"I accept your relationship and your school," was all he said, Kuroko nodded.

"Thank you Midorima-kun," Takao stared at Midorima as if expecting for him to say something else. Which after feeling Takao's intense stare on him, he did say something

"Today was f- fun, I guess," Takao laughed and everyone did, laughing at Midorima was one of the best things the GoM enjoyed. Akashi just smiled, his eyes landed of Takumi's laughing form, he was now wearing a shirt and yet, he felt his heart skip a bit. Akashi narrowed his eyes and called for attention.

"Tomorrow, Aomine and Murasakibara will play, everyone's dismissed. Aomine hit Takumi's back.

"See ya tomorrow Takumi!" Aomine grinned widely, instead of feeling nervous, he actually felt really pumped up. Everyone patted Takumi and said bye to each other, Murasakibara gifted Takumi a chocolate bar and Kuroko a vanilla candy.

"Till tomorrow Kumi-chin~!" Murasakibara bid farewell as he left with Himuro. Akashi stayed behind and stared at Takumi.

"Akashi, sup," Takumi smiled, it bothered Akashi to look up, but he wouldn't mind for now.

"Good luck, but I don't really think you'll need it since you're a fantastic player," Akashi complimented and left. Takumi stood still, watching the small red-head leave. Kagami hit the back of his head.

"Nice game today," Kuroko went to his other side.

"Great game Taku-kun," Takumi smiled at the two. What Takumi couldn't get out of his head was the small smile that adorned the emperor's face as he complimented him not so long ago.

"It'll be a long day tomorrow," Takumi sighed.

~Omake~

It was close to eight and Takumi was going to clock out early when he received a text, it was from Midorima. It read:

I'll bring your lucky item tomorrow, good luck. Not that I want to help… have a good night, and you should put a night cap if you don't want bed-hair like your brother's… not that I care about your hair's state in the morning… yeah good night. Also enjoy a morning shower to feel more refreshed, not that I want you to feel your best… night.

Takumi wanted to die from the cuteness of the text. He left to his basement where he actually took out a night cap he owned when he was younger, which had been too big. He grabbed his phone and took a selfie, he then relied back, with the picture as an attachment.

Night Midorima! Thanks for caring so much~! Nightie night!

Midorima's phone vibrated and he grabbed it, he saw the picture and blushed a bit his sister caught him blushing.

"Shin-nii~ what is that?" his sister asked. Midorima stared at her. He smirked.

"My new little brother," he replied as he left to sleep.

"E- EH?"
