Hello! Here's a new chapter for you wonderful guys! Again, I'm sorry for a late update, I'm still adjusting to my new schedules.
Warnings: OOCness, the couple's colorful language, typo and grammar errors.
Disclaimer: I don't own Durarara. Maybe in my sleep, I may.
"Ts-Tsugaru…" Izaya reached out to no one in particular, his eyes tightly shut. He's sweating a lot, his breathing is ragged and his body hurts anywhere. "Tsugaru…"
"Shh, Tsugaru's sleeping in his crib, don't worry about him. You rest." A damp cloth is placed on Izaya's forehead as Shizuo placed his reaching hand back to his side.
"He needs me…" the sick informant hoarsely muttered, coughing after he spoke.
"He's better now. It's you who must be getting better now." Shizuo comforted the man who is starting a coughing fit and now sweating a lot. A small beep indicated is heard and Shizuo immediately grabbed the thermometer from the sick man's axilliary area. "39 degrees Celsius. I must call Shinra."
He stood up from where he was sitting, taking his phone with him. He dialed the underground doctor's number.
"Shizuo-kun! What's the matter?"
"The louse got sick. I think it's getting worse." Shinra can feel a hint of worry on the bodyguard's voice.
"Okay, I'll be there in a while. Just keep him hydrated while you wait for me." Shizuo nodded even though the doctor can't see him. He hung-up and replaced the cloth on the informant's forehead. Izaya has fallen asleep by now so he went downstairs to calm himself by chugging down a cool bottle of milk.
Celty had dropped Shinra off at Izaya's flat, an hour later. He immediately checked on the still sleeping Izaya , look of worry on his features.
"How did he become sick?" Shinra inquired Shizuo who is now carrying a whimpering Tsugaru, trying to lull him back to sleep.
"Tsugaru got a cold. Izaya took care of him and the next day, he's the one who is down with sickness." Shizuo answered, a little bit worried about the flea's condition. Shinra checked his other vital statistics.
"Hmmm. His temperature's somewhat high. If it reaches 40 degrees, we have to take him to a hospital. For now, just continue his water therapy. I'll give you cold medicines and aspirin for his fever to go down"
After Shinra had left, he went downstairs to make a chicken soup which he heard is a good remedy for fever, lucky that the ingredients are available in his fridge. Half an hour later, he finished making it and bring a bowl of it upstairs. He found Izaya finally awake and sitting up, rushing through the bathroom. Shizuo flinched at the sound of throwing up. He placed the bowl of soup on the bedside table before he ran to the bathroom.
"H-Hey, are you okay?" he rubbed the informant's back feeling the warm heat coming off from him.
"Dizzy." Izaya wiped his mouth before standing up and walking wobbly back to his bed. "I hate getting sick."
"You shouldn't play in the rain in the first place." Shizuo followed after him, watching the ravenette stumble to his bed, his face on the mattress. He sighed as he laid Izaya properly, earning a frown from the said man. He get the now warm bowl of soup.
"Don't you have work to do today? I can take care of myself perfectly fine." Izaya huffed irritably as Shizuo mixed the soup.
"I told Tom-san that I have something important to do so I took the day-off. Here." Izaya frowned deeper at Shizuo who is holding a spoon to him, obviously trying to feed him.
"Flea, Shinra said you must take medicine therefore you should eat enough for the medicine to take effect."
"This is so disgusting. Being fed by your nemesis, I can think that you added poison to my meal. Namie always do." He crossed his arms, looking suspiciously at the spoon.
"Even if we are enemies, I would not go low as to do underhanded methods like that." He tries to shove the thing in his mouth, leaning closer to the sick man. Izaya hesitantly opened his mouth and gulped it quickly.
"So you admit that you still hate me, Shizu-chan~ I know you lied when you said you don't hate me anymore~ Don't worry, I still hate you and I'm glad to know that the feeling's still mutual." He smirked.
"Listen up, you louse. Even if you are an annoying, fucked up, cocky bastard, I don't hate you anymore like I do before for my kid's sake." Shizuo is starting to get pissed off.
"Tsugaru is MINE. And I don't really like the idea of sharing." There's sharpness in his voice.
"And HE is also MY son. He should live with both parents, not just one. That's why I'm trying to control my anger too, you damn pest, so that I can give him a peaceful family life." Shizuo said through gritted teeth. Izaya continued to smirk. Oh how he loved taunting the blonde. Shizuo will soon walk away and throw vending machines again. But with Shizuo you can never really predict what he'll do.
"Whether you like it or not, I'm feeding you till you finish this bowl." He scooped again and forcefully downed the contents in the informant's throat, making no room for a response from him until the entire bowl is empty.
"Changing the subject, aren't we? Don't be so full of yourself protozoan. Just because you are involved in creating him doesn't mean you can label him as your own property. You can call yourself a father but that's all there to is, a title. And stop acting like a doting husband. It's creepy. " Izaya purposely hid himself under the covers as he can feel the blonde's body shook with anger.
"Stubborn freaking bastard louse." Shizuo stomped outside the flea's building. Ah, he needed cigarettes right now.
"Cold…" the informant shivered as he pulled the blankets more around him. No matter how he practically made a cocoon to warm himself now, he still felt very cold. He felt dizzy again. He reached out for his phone but he has difficulty finding it because the lights are out. He had a coughing fit again.
"Flea? You alright?" Shizuo went inside the dark room, squinting his eyes to find where the damn louse is. Turning on the lights, he found him shivering wildly under a cocoon of blankets and worry washed over him. He just finished tucking Tsugaru to sleep and so he checked the flea's condition.
"You're burning up!" Shizuo retracted his hand from the informant's blazing forehead. Izaya, his eyes closed, felt warmth somewhere.
"O-Oi!" Shizuo looked down to see Izaya tug at his shirt. 'He doesn't know what he's doing.'
"Don't go…" the delirious man whispered very softly that the bodyguard almost didn't catch up what he is saying. He felt that warm feeling in his chest again. Smiling lightly, he gently removed the hand from his shirt to takeoff his vest before laying beside the smaller male and embracing him. He felt another fluttery sensation as Izaya snuggled more to him, gripping his shirt. His smile became bigger, placing one hand on his waist, planting a sweet kiss on the burning forehead.
"Goodnight Izaya."
Izaya woke up with something warm beside him. He wondered what that thing is and opening his eyes, he was surprised to meet caramel eyes. Out of impulse, he pushed himself away from him, his eyes wide.
"What are you doing on my bed, Shizu-chan?"if not for his face already red from sickness, anyone will thought he is blushing.
"You looked so peaceful and innocent for once while you are sleeping so I didn't bother waking you up. Good morning by the way." Shizuo gave that sunny smile and Izaya felt something fluttering in his stomach. "Do you remember last night?"
"What are you talking about?" 'So he doesn't really remember. Thank goodness.'
"Nothing." He lay back down again, feeling contented. Izaya looked at him suspiciously before he stood up. "I'm fine now so I'm making breakfast."
"For once I thought he's really adorable."
I apologize for the rather confusing and uneventful chapter. I'm really out of myself right now after watching the news. The damages left by the Typhoon Hayain, one of the strongest typhoon on the planet and worse than Hurricane Katrina, in my homeland Philippines, left me depressed. Please help and pray for them!
Review please :)
