So, I'm afraid I've got some bad news (noticed how I sounded like Bad News Barrett?): this is the last "real" chapter to Starting Over. I know, I'm sad that it's over, too. :( But it had to end sometime, right?

That being said, I will eventually post an epilogue to this story. It'll be a part of Starting Over, but it's an epilogue- not chapter 16. So this isn't the end (technically).

Anyways, I'm sure you're all waiting to see what's going to happen after what occurred at the end of chapter 14. Well, now you will! I hope this was worth the wait. :)

Just to be clear, the large part in italics is what Ellie is imagining. It didn't actually happen in the "real world", it happened in the "dream world". I hope that makes sense.

I have a poll on my page regarding older multi-chapter fanfictions. If you could please fill it out, I'd greatly appreicate it! Thanks. :)

I own nothing related to the WWE.

Anyways, I'll stop rambling. Please read & enjoy! :D

Starting Over

Chapter 15

Ellie opened her eyes and looked around. She was in a dark room that only had a door and two chairs. There was someone sitting in one chair, but Ellie couldn't see who it was. She reluctantly sat in the empty chair and waited for something- anything to happen.

"I've been waiting for you," said the unknown person.

"Who are you?" asked Ellie.

"That's not important," replied the person. "What's important is that I wanted you to know how proud I am of you. You have become such a beautiful woman and a great step-mother. I know you're going to be an amazing mother and wife, too."

"Well, thank you," replied a mystified Ellie, "I do have one question."

"What is it?"

"Am I dead? Is my baby dead?" Ellie grew nervous waiting for her answer.

"No," replied the person, "I wouldn't do that to you. You and your baby will be just fine. But now it's time for you to go back to reality. After all, you wouldn't want to keep your boyfriend waiting."

Ellie sighed and nodded. "You're right. But how do I do that?"

"Just close your eyes," replied the person calmly.

Ellie closed her eyes.

Ellie slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She knew that she was in the hospital before she opened her eyes. What she didn't know before opening her eyes was that her doctor was in the room instead of Oscar. This immediately made Ellie nervous because she didn't know if Angie had also attacked him. She also didn't know if Angie had also attacked Dominik and Aalyah.

She thought about the conversation that occurred before she had woken up. Given by the voice and the words that the person was saying, she had a hunch that she had spoken to her dead mother. That thought- combined with the words she had been told- brought Ellie to tears. She was glad that her mother was proud of her and thought that she was going to be a good wife and mother. Ellie thought that she would never hear those things because her mother was dead. But clearly, she had thought wrong.

"Oh good, you're awake," said the doctor.

"Am I going to be okay?" asked Ellie.

"You're going to be fine. Miss Carmichael, did you know that you're pregnant?" replied the doctor.

"Yes, I did," answered Ellie. "Is my baby okay?"

"Yes. Your baby is alright. You weren't stabbed anywhere in the abdomen- just in the shoulder. You lost a lot of blood, but you and your baby will be alright."

Ellie breathed a sigh of relief.

"There's someone who would like to see you. Are you up for it?" asked the doctor.

"I am," replied Ellie without any hesitation. She grinned at the thought of seeing Oscar.

The doctor left the room soon after. A few moments later, Oscar entered the room. Ellie's grin turned into her trademark smile.

"Hey," she said softly.

"Hi," responded Oscar. He looked like he had been crying, but he also had a smile on his face. "I'm so glad you and the baby are okay. I was so worried when I found you."

"Wait a minute… you found me?" asked Ellie.

"Yeah," replied Oscar. "I came home and saw some blood on the floor near the entrance to the living room, and going up the stairs. I went upstairs as fast as I could and realized that the bathroom door was locked, so I knew that you were in there. Once I unlocked it, I found you unconscious on the floor." Oscar paused as he attempted to keep his emotions together. Ellie gently squeezed his hand to make him feel better.

"I called 911 and tried to stop the bleeding. I already had my suspicions, but they were confirmed when you muttered 'Angie,' under your breath. I thought you were going to die… you and the baby… I just didn't want to lose you two." Oscar wiped tears away from his face and sighed.

"I said that?" asked Ellie. "I don't remember that."

"Well, you did," said Oscar. "I'm so glad you're okay. I don't know how I would've reacted if…" He couldn't even finish that sentence.

"Shh, it's okay," said Ellie. "Everything's okay. I was so worried about you… I thought she had attacked you and the kids. Where are they?"

"They're at my parents' place," replied Oscar. "Our house is being processed by the police, and of course I won't let them be with Angie's boyfriend. Angie's already been arrested- she was at her home. Apparently, she confessed right on the spot.

"Ellie… I'm so, so sorry she did this to you. You didn't deserve this at all. Angie went way too far."

"Don't be sorry," said Ellie as she sat up. "It's not your fault, Oscar. I don't want to think about what happened now, or ever. Right now, all I want to think about is you and me."

Oscar smiled. "That's fine by me. I have something to ask you, anyways. I was going to wait, but I would like to do it now."

"Sure. What is it?" asked Ellie.

Oscar went into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a small, black velvet box. Tears immediately sprang to Ellie's eyes as she realized what was about to take place.

"Ellie, I love you so much. You have made me become a happy person once again. I really didn't think I'd ever be happy again until I met you. You are the love of my life, an amazing step-mother to Dominik and Aalyah, the mother of my child, and a beautiful woman. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Elizabeth Mariella Carmichael, will you marry me?"

With that, Oscar opened the small box and revealed the beautiful engagement ring. It had a diamond right in the center, and smaller diamonds surrounded it. The simple silver band supported all the diamonds that adorned the ring. Ellie smiled as tears slowly fell down her face.

"Yes, I will," she replied.

Oscar smiled and slid the ring on the appropriate finger before the couple shared a passionate kiss and embrace. They knew that no one would ever break the loving bond that they shared. Nothing could tear them apart.

"I love you so much, Oscar."

"I love you too, Ellie."

There ya go! I hope you all enjoyed the last "real" chapter of this story. :)

Please review, and don't forget to stay tuned for the epilogue! :D
