Chapter 14 Zetsu's News
Zetsu arrived at the base as soon as he could. He literally burst through the door and ran through the compound. He got to the living area in no time.
All the other members had been in the living room watching a movie. Hidan in one recliner sharpening his scythe, Kisame in the other recliner practically dozing off, Deidara and Tobi were quietly pushing each other to have more room on the couch, Sasori was between Deidara and Tobi getting extremely annoyed with all the pushing and Itachi and Sakura were snuggled together on the love seat.
"Where's Leader?!" Zetsu shouted, at this all the members jumped to their feet.
The door to Pein's office slammed open and out came Pein and Konan.
"What's wrong Zetsu?" Pein asked sternly.
"I think we should talk about this in your office." Zetsu said warily as he eyed Sakura
"JUST TELL ME!" Pein shouted, which made everyone in the room tense up.
"Fine. I followed Team 7 back to the hidden leaf village and they met up with the hokage at the gate. They shared with her what had happened with Sakura and Sasuke. After the hokage healed the Uchiha he came too, and had a very disturbing plan." Zetsu said as he looked at Sakura again.
"What was it Zetsu?" Pein said in a very scary but calm voice.
"The new aim of Team 7 is to kill their missing nin, Sakura Haruno." Zetsu said looking straight into Pein's eyes.
Everybody's eyes went straight to Sakura. None of them wanted to lose their precious cherry blossom. They all would give up their own lives to allow her to live.
"I did not catch much more but in three days two more teams will be out there ready to destroy Sakura." Zetsu finished.
"Sakura." Pein said looking past Zetsu. "Go get ready, you begin training in one hour."
"Yes, Leader." With that Sakura walked quickly from the living room to her bedroom.
"As for the rest of you, you are to each help her with her training. There is no way we can avoid this confrontation so easily. Now go get ready. I will meet all of you outside in one hour." Pein said as he turned around and headed for the office.
Everybody went to their rooms quitly and deep in thought.
Once Itachi was done getting geared up in his combat clothes he went and knocked on Sakura's door.
"Come in." Sakura said knowing full well who was there. Itachi opened the door to find Sakura standing by the bed with one food up lacing up her combat boots.
"Ready?" Itachi said in a gruff voice.
Sakura cocked her head at the sound of his voice, he has never used that tone with her before.
"What's wrong Itachi?" Sakura said walking over to the eldest Uchiha.
Itachi glanced down at her neck and saw the necklace he gave her. He slowly reached out and gently touched the necklace.
"I will not allow any harm to come to you. I will protect you with my life." Itachi said looking up into Sakura's big green eyes.
"I know Itachi and I swear to protect you with mine. As well as the other members of the Akatsuki." Sakura said looking straight back into Itachi's eyes.
