Chapter 10

Awaking slowly, I could tell something was wrong. I couldn't hear the normal hustle that came with the mornings at the Toretto house. I couldn't hear Letty laughing as something Jesse said. Or Dom getting onto Vince for taking the first bit of food. Or Mia and Brian laughing at him. Or Jacob giggling while running around the house avoiding whoever was going to get him dressed that day. It was too quiet. As I slowly opened my eyes, nausea hit me. But I still looked around, despite how sick and weak I was feeling. I was in a warehouse. I slowly took in my surroundings. There was a single light above me, which showed not only me but a few feet in front of me.

I looked to my right slowly as I heard footsteps coming towards me.

"You're finally awake. I thought you would never wake up and I would have to deal with you while you were out. And that would have been no fun for me." A rough voice said as they slowly stepped into the light, "You didn't think you could hide from me for long, did you?"

I stared at the man in front of me, "Scott." I said simply, watching as a smirk slowly graced his face.

Two Day's Before

"Mia!" I called as I walked into the house with Jacob. I'd just picked him up from school and brought him home. He ran into the living room and turned on the TV as I headed towards the kitchen to get him a snack and a drink. I took out an apple, peanut butter, and some juice. As I was cutting the apple, Mia came into the kitchen.

"So, a call came for you when you went to go pick up Jacob." She told me as she crossed her arms.

"What about? Scott?"

Mia nodded, "Yeah, he's out. They think he's heading here now. But don't worry. Brian has his friends on the force keeping an eye out."

"That may be, and I love Brian for doing it but if Scott wants me, he'll find a way to get me without someone finding out." I told her as I spread peanut butter on the apple slices.

Mia sighed as she poured some juice into a cup, "I know that. But that's why it's important for you to stay close to home now. Or at least take someone with you whenever you go somewhere." She said lightly.

"I'll be fine. Vince already follows me to and from work. The only place I can be alone is when I go to the store."

"But you're not going to anymore, right?" She asked as she looked at him.

I sighed then nodded, "Okay, okay. I will not go anywhere alone again. Promise." I said as I grabbed the juice filled cup, the plate with the apple slices and took it to the living room. Setting it in front of Jacob then sat down on the couch behind him. It looked like I wasn't going anywhere alone for a while to come now.

One Day Before

Early Morning

"Every time, she has someone with her! You said that she would be alone!" Scott yelled as kicked over a chair, causing Hayley to jump.

"I know what I said big brother but there's nothing I can do about it! She never goes anywhere alone now. Not since it came back that you got out and were heading this way. I tried but even Leon seems to be with her all the time too! She has her own protection detail!"

"Well if you hadn't of messed up we wouldn't be in this mess now would we? If you had been there to take the call, none of this would be happening right now! This is your fault you stupid, insolent little bitch!"

"Hey, I did this for you! I didn't have to agree to this but I did because you're my brother and you were put behind bars because she ratted you out!" Haley said angrily, "Do not try to put all the blame on me. Maybe if you hadn't had killed your girlfriend, none of this would be happening right now!"

"I should take you out right here and now. But I won't because there is still something you can do. Volunteer yourself to be her body guard. The next time she goes somewhere, you'll go with her and that's when I'll get her. They don't know you're my sister yet, but they will. And when they find out, it'll be too late. I'll already have that bitch in my hands and by the time they find her? She'll be nothing but a memory. A cold, dead memory." Scott growled out, a chilling, malicious smile gracing his lips as he leaned on the table in the small, dingy motel room.

That afternoon

"Hey Jess! You ready to go?" I called up the stairs. I was running to the store and since I had to have someone with me at all times, Jesse was coming with me.

"I can go with you. I'm not doing anything." I heard Hayley say from behind me.

"No, it's okay. Jesse has been wanting to get out of the house for days now. And this way I can spend some time alone with him." I replied, a small smile on my face as I turned when I heard Jesse coming down the steps, "Thanks anyway though Hayley. We'll be fine." I turned and followed Jesse out into the car.

We weren't gone long before we came back with what we needed for dinner that night. Dom wanted to grill so we had to get everything. Chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, potato salad, beans, ketchup, mustard, mayo, buns, bar-b-que sauce, and of course everything else that goes with the burgers.

After setting everything in the kitchen with Mia, who was in charge of getting the meat ready, we went to the backyard where the others already were. Dom and Letty were at the grill, getting it ready. The others were sitting around the table talking. Jacob ran at me and I picked him up, pressing a kiss to his cheek as I walked towards the table. I sat between Vince and Brian, with Jacob sitting in my lap.

"So, what are we talking about?" I asked as I took the beer Jesse offered me. I opened it up and set it on the table after taking a sip.

"What we're going to do about Scott coming here." Brian told me. They'd been trying to plan something out. A worst case scenario thing where they would get me out of town if he got too close.

I saw Leon give me a look from across the table and looked at Jesse, "Hey Jess, why don't you take Jake inside and help Mia? I'm sure she needs the help."

Jesse took Jacob from me and went into the house. We'd had this planned out for a while now. I guess they thought today was a good enough. I glanced at Dom who nodded at me before I turned to Brian, "Well, do you really think it's a good idea talking about it here? I mean, with Hayley here, she could go running and tell him everything we're planning."

"What are you talking about?" Hayley asked, looking at everyone, "I don't have anything to do with this. You guys have to believe me."

"Well, we would but uh, turns out you've been lying to us from day one. You're his sister. You're the asshole murderer's sister." Vince said, glaring at her from his spot beside me.

"Now, normally, this would be where we ask for an explanation but I think this time we're just going to turn you over to the police." Brian said with a small shrug, "Because honestly, the way you've been playing us this whole time. Getting close to us, lying to us day in and day out, and for what? Watching for Anna? We didn't even know if she was even going to come back."

"But I did. And you told Scott as soon as I got here. Which even I have to admit was good. How you got away with it was very slick. But I know it wasn't your idea to do this. This was all Scott's idea. His big plan. He knew I would come back here one day. And he sent you here to play spy." I told her as I leaned forward, placing my arms on the table, "Fact is, you're good. I never would have suspected you. Not in the beginning anyway. You should have become an actress. Though you never would have gotten far, just like you didn't now. We would have found you out eventually."

"You have no proof of this! Leon, you can't believe them." Hayley said angrily.

"Oh but I do. I overheard you talking to him. I heard everything you said to him."

"We have pictures that prove it as well. So between that and what Leon heard, we also have phone records, yeah. You forgot about that huh?" I asked with a small smile, "You're not as good as you thought you were. If I were you, I would have gotten a prepaid phone to talk to him. But that's just me. And I would have been a lot more secretive when it came to meeting his goons."

Hayley stood up, "You won't find me, you'll never be able to turn me in. I'll leave here."

"That's where you're wrong." Brian said then whistled, two cops coming around the corner.

"Miss. Martin, you're going to have to come with us." One of the officers told her. The other officer read her, her rights as he handcuffed her. They led her to the cop car, and got her into the backseat. After talking with us, they took her to the station.

"Well, I guess that's that." Brian said simply.

"For now. We do still have to deal with Scott." I told him as I sat back in my seat.

"While that may be, we won't let him near you." Vince said as he looked at me.

I smiled at him, "Thanks but there won't be much to worry about once Scott is off the streets again."

The Day Of (or rather night)

It's been a busy day. Jacob was home sick with the flu. Apparently, it had been going around for a while and he ended up getting it. So, Mia and I had been home taking care of him, the shop was busy today as well, and the phone had been ringing off the hook. In between that and cleaning up after Jacob today, we were both tired. But now that the others were home, they were helping with him while Mia and I cleaned up from dinner and Jacob being sick. We dumped all the trash into the trash bag I was carrying.

"I'll take this out then take the trash can to the road. Tomorrow is trash day." I muttered as I pushed my way out of the back door and down to the trash can. Once I tossed it into the trash can, I pulled the can towards the road. When it was where it was supposed to be, I turned to go back up the drive way but was stopped as an arm wrapped around me and something was pressed against my face. I fought for a few minutes before blackness slowly took over me as I breathed in a few times.

Present Time

"So you finally found me." I said softly as I looked up at him from the floor, "You know, this is very serial killer of you." I gestured to the shackle around my ankle, leading to a chain that was linked to something on the floor.

He smiled, "Yeah well, I figured it would be better than you running off. I know how good you are with ropes and getting out of them. Neat little trick that is."

I shrugged slightly, "Still very serial killer of you. But considering your history..." I was stopped as Scott smacked me.

"When are you going to learn to keep your damn mouth shut!" He said angrily.

I chuckled weakly as I licked my split lip, "I saw that coming a mile away. Although, I wonder how did all of this. I mean, I knew about Hayley, but you're blonde. She's a brunette. Kind of."

"Hair dye can work wonders. It really can. I made sure it was the right shade. I told her that it was the only way. Get close to Leon by looking like you. Not an exact replica of course. But close enough. He has a type." Scott said smiling a bit, "It's funny. I knew you would come eventually and I had to have her already here. Your friends are good though. Their guts were telling them she was bad news but they didn't listen to it. They probably should have though."

"Oh, I know they should have. She's related to you. Evil must be in your DNA." I told him, "I know Leon has a type. I've known that for a while."

"And you are his type. Dark hair, light eyes. That slightly, but not overly tan skin." Scott said, brushing the back of his hand against my cheek.

I pulled my head away from his touch in disgust, "You are something else, you know that? After what you did to Kylie and now this? You're sick in the head you know that right?"

"No, I'm getting revenge! For what you did to me! You put me away!"

"You murdered my friend! The mother of your child! Who is the bad guy here? You, not me Scott. You have some serious issues if you think you didn't deserve to be put away." I told him angrily.

"What I did, had to be done. I was not going to raise that thing with her. I wanted her. A family was never in my plans. I had to get rid of her. And now, I'm going to get rid of you. And when they find your body. Honey, you'll be cold already. There are no witnesses this time. Just you and me."

"You think I won't be found. People know what you look like Scott. My friends know. And what the cops can't do? They will. You're underestimating them by a lot. And the sooner you learn that, the better."

I watched as Scott walked out of the light as he chuckled a bit, "Well, I'm getting tired of talking about this now. You put my sister in jail and now, it's time to get revenge for everything you've done to us." He told me as he walked over to me again. He knelt in front of me with a small smile, "Now, be a good girl and take your shot." He said then shoved the syringe into my neck, pushing the end and the liquid into me. He gently laid me down as whatever was in the syringe started working, making it to where I couldn't move. He got up and went out of the light again.

He'd paralyzed me.

"The best part about this? I can do whatever I want, and you can't scream." He told me as he came back to him, waving the knife at me before kneeling and making the first cut on my arm.

Meanwhile

"Now, you're saying she's been missing since last night?" An officer asked as he took note.

"Yes, she took out the trash and when she didn't come back in, we went out there and she was gone. Her is still here." Mia said lightly.

"Well, she hasn't been missing that long, there really isn't much we can do about it until she's been missing for longer."

"Even with everything we've told you? He could have her and you're just not going to do anything about it?" Leon asked angrily.

"I didn't say that. You told me she left once before, who is to say that she didn't do it again?" He asked them.

"She wouldn't. She has Jacob here and she wasn't even wearing shoes. And as Mia said, her car is still here. You know he's here and you know he took her. Now, I think you should talk to his sister. She has to know where he took her." Brian said.

"We'll talk to her. But in the end, it's doubtful she would even tell us anything at this point."

"Then offer her a deal! Do something because Anna is in serious danger!" Brian said.

"We will do everything we can. You know we will Brian. We will figure this out. Now, just leave this to us, okay?" The officer said then waved to his partner and they slowly left the house.

Letty shut the door behind them then walked into the living room, "We're not gonna let them do all the work are we?"

Dom slowly looked up then shook his head, "No. They would never find her in time. Hayley won't talk, no matter what they say or do. We're taking this into our hands. We'll ask around with people we know. Someone is bound to have seen something. We'll split up into teams and go from there."

Don't hate me! I lost inspiration but now I have it back. I will not be gone so long again, I promise! Any mistakes are mine, it's midnight and i'm doped up on Nyquil.
