"Wh-what?"

I gulped noticeably. "Sammy, you look like you're about to puke."

"Because I think I am. You're going on a date with Rihanna?"

I ran a hand through my hair and sighed. "It's not a date. We're just hanging out. As friends. Like how you and me are friends."

"You're friends with that manipulative, whoring bitch?" she asked, enraged.

"Sammy!" I scolded. "That's really uncalled for. She only acted up because you made her feel unwelcome as soon as she arrived."

Her beautiful green eyes widened. "Are you defending her? Her? Did you forget everything I told you about her? How manipulative she is? How she destroyed Lars and Sasha? I thought you were my friend."

"And I thought you were above acting like Heather."

She gasped. It was a low blow, I knew it. But I still kept trucking. "I know you're jealous that your mother prefers Rihanna's company over yours, but that's no reason to isolate her and make her a social pariah. You've excluded her from your friends and classmates because you're worried that people will find her more interesting than you."

She shoved me against the wall and said through gritted teeth, "I told you why I warned everyone about her. I didn't want for everyone to feel Sasha's pain."

"Rihanna didn't make Lars cheat on her." I tried not to let it show how hot it was that she was pressed up against me, pushing me into the wall.

She glared at me. "Since when are you her lawyer?"

"Since you made it so that she's alone and miserable."

She bit the inside of her cheek, frowning. She seemed to be debating something. "Sasha tried to kill herself last night."

I stayed silent.

"Yeah, she's been dealing with depression for a few years. Lars was getting her through it. So along with that underlying condition and the feeling of not being good enough, she slit her wrists last night. She didn't cut deep enough. I just thought you should know the affect that your precious Rihanna has had on her."

I pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Sammy, you've been my friend for a long time and I don't want to be upset with you, but that would not have happened if you had tried to accept and understand your sister from the very beginning. If you had, you would see that she's not as awful as you perceive her to be. She can actually be a very nice person and I happen to enjoy her company as much as I enjoy yours."

Granted, the only reason I even started hanging out and talking with Rihanna was because Sammy had a date. I guess I wanted to make her jealous enough to admit she liked me. It was a surprise to me that Rihanna was actually a pretty decent person. And I didn't really like Rihanna as much as I loved Sammy.

But she was a nice friend to have and talk to about things.

Like Sammy.

I didn't tell her that I love Sammy, but she knows that I love someone in the school. She was always pestering me on who it was, but there was no way I would tell her that it was her own sister. Especially since I suspected that she still had a bit of a crush on me.

I didn't expect Sammy to be home when I came over to pick up Rihanna for the movies. I was so fucked when she opened the door with her lovely smile and excited eyes saying she was so glad to see me, that she wanted to talk to me so badly. That she was so upset and needed to talk to me because only I could help her feel better. I was even more fucked when I was forced to explain that I was there to see Rihanna.

She had looked so rejected.

And she really did look like she was going to puke.

Sammy backed away from me. "Are you blaming me for this?"

A voice from the doorway scowled, "Casey is an idiot and he was jealous that you would rather spend your time with Danny than with him." Marissa walked over to me and poked me roughly in my chest. "I would think that you would have been the last person to turn on Sammy like this. To choose Rihanna over Sammy. So go on your stupid little date with her. She doesn't need you."

I pressed my lips together. "Sammy…we're still friends. Just because I'm friends with your sister too does not mean that I'm gonna abandon you or something." I walked closer to her and she backed away from me.

"I think I'm gonna be sick," was all she said before she ran in the direction of her bathroom. Marissa shot me a glare and then followed her.

Of course right as they disappeared into the bathroom, Rihanna emerged from her and Sammy's room wearing as little as possible with a smile. "Hey Case." Only Sammy calls me Case. "Are we going now?"

I nodded as she gave me a very hands-on hug. "Yeah, I just wanted to say bye to Sammy."

She frowned slightly. "I'm surprised you'd still be friends with her after she totes violated you."

"What?"

"Ohmygosh. I'm so sorry! I wasn't supposed to tell! Please don't tell Sammy that I told you! She'd be so mad and she would make my life here worse than it already is!"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "She won't do anything to you. I promise."

"Well…she said it was kind of pathetic how you still pined over her when she tried making it clear that she only wanted to be friends. But I don't think you're pathetic."

A/N: Cliffhanger time because this was a short chapter and I'm gonna do another one (longer, I promise) right now okay I swear. And just a note that from now on, I think it'll be just from Sammy's POV
