The sun. One of my worst enemies. Good for nothing ball of gas. I kept mumbling about how horrible the sun was as I slowly got up. As I was getting up, I saw a letter sitting on the pedestal next to my bed. Not remembering writing one myself, I picked it up and began reading it.
Hello. You might have noticed that you have no essential memories. Don't worry, I still captured the essence of what makes me, well you. Only memories of entertainment, things you learnt from school until your current age and some memories to ensure are, well you. Anyway, if you haven't already gotten it, you are a clone of me. Yep, a clone. You are in Dxd with no golden finger. No sacred gear and close to no magic. At least you can fight and are strong for a human.
Now you might be wondering, why the hell would I do this? Well, I was wondering what would I do if I was to be in this universe with nothing. You shall start attending Kouh Academy in a week. You have no friends or family and came from Africa after your father found a job in Japan. Unfortunately, he along with your mother died in a car accident. You got the inheritance and somehow got to live on your own without anyone checking on you.
Don't worry. You will know how to speak Japanese and English along with being able to write in both. since I can't be too cruel, I'll give you a photographic memory and knowledge up to twelfth grade. Not much, but hey. Better than nothing, am I right? Anyway, good luck and try not to die.
I took a deep breath in before shouting enough colourful swear words to make a sailor blush. I took another deep breath in before sighing and going to the bathroom. I took a look at myself and I was very impressed. I was a handsome, tan 1.79 meters tall (5.9 feet) young man with one eye blood red and the other golden yellow. I was muscular though not enough to not be able to touch my back.
I had black hair which I must say is cut excellently. I took a look down and whistled. Not to brag but I won't be disappointing any woman. I took a bath and as I was doing so I got the memories of my current life. It was like watching a movie. I processed this until I finished dressing up. I took a look around the house before I went to the kitchen to have some breakfast. When I finished, went to sit on the couch in the living room.
I turned on the T. V so it could play in the background. I just sat there with a blank mind for around ten minutes before thinking about my situation. ' Ahhh, I'm so screwed. I have nothing. I barely even know canon. I mostly got my knowledge from fanfics. ' I thought while sighing. As much as I didn't want to move as I was so comfortable. It would be best if I got to know the town. I took a look at my watch and it was still them in the morning.
I got up and out of my home. I took a look around and liked the neighbourhood. All the houses were two stories like my own and very quiet. I walked around the town for a couple of hours. While walking around, I found the academy, the main market square and the park where Issei died. As I walk still walking around, I began to walk in a more abandoned area of the town.
I started to feel myself wanting to turn around. ' It must be a barrier.' I thought as I pushed through the want to turn. As I continued, I began to get a headache. I still pushed through it. It got so bad that I nearly gave up but I felt that I had gone too far to give up.
I had been right, cause as soon as I had that feeling, my headache decreased. Smiling at my success, I continued to trudge forward but with more caution knowing I was in hostile territory. I soon found the place the barrier most likely tried to hide. An abandoned church, the one the fallen were most likely going to squat down in. As though to prove me right, I saw some priests walking to the church. I was hidden behind a fence so they didn't see me.
" Haaaa, I'm so fukin tired. Why the hell do we have to stay in this shitty church and take care of a fukin rock here when the fallen leading this mission haven't even arrived.!" shouted one of the priests. " Why the fuck are you shouting!" another one shouted. " Cause no one is here. I can say anything and no one but us will hear!" he shouted back.
They began arguing while the others just walked into the church, not caring. Soon enough, they started fighting. They both took out something that soon became swords made of? Light? I think holy energy. After a few minutes, one came out on top. The victor left with a limp as he was injured while the loser was left out, unconscious.
I watched the victor leave before deciding whether or not to get the unconscious priest. ' On one hand, I could get the sword. It could be of use and increase my chances of survival. On the other hand, if I get caught I will die. They all have swords and training with them. Plus, I'm not exactly someone who blends in with my, looks.' I contemplated for some time before making a decision.
I ran as quietly as possible to the unconscious priest. When I made it, I picked up the sword handle and put it into my pocket before combing through the guy's pockets. I found what looked to be a gun, some magazines, some money and holy water. I took everything and ran away still as quietly as I could.
I continued until I exited the barrier then began walking to my house to not attract attention. When I arrived, I locked my door and closed the curtains before putting my spoils on the living room table. My heart was racing even though I had some time to calm down. ' I can't believe I just did that. ' I thought as I sat down on my couch.
I finally calmed down enough to inspect my spoils. First was the sword. It looked like a pocket knife but bigger than a normal one. I picked it up and tried to look for an on switch or button. Not seeing any, I assumed it would switch on with the help of magic. I then took a look at the gun. It looked similar to a normal gun, not that I had much experience with one. I picked it up and it felt a bit heavy. I managed to take out the magazine which was still full. I checked the others and they were all full. I had eleven total, counting the one in the gun. I also had eleven small glasses of what I guessed was holy water.
I put one magazine in every room in case of anything unexpected. That left five free mags. I planned to keep four on me and leave the last at home as a spare. I didn't have much experience with guns and I couldn't practice for various reasons but it was better than nothing. I also planned to do the same with the holy water. I even bought a customized water gun from a shady store. It was practically a portable pressure gun with how fast water spat from it.
Just like that, my first day in this world ended. The following days were filled with me trying to reach my magic which was easier than I expected. Maybe cause in my previous world, we never had magic while in this world, it was just there. I used methods learnt from anime such as meditation and looking within. I then began circulating it throughout my body which tired me out. I had also been shopping for magical items. I was left with a lot of money to spend so I did.
I visited novelty shops, shops that offered charms and shops that offered supposed magical items. Most of it was fake of course but I did run into some magical things. I couldn't tell if it was in fact magical, but it did feel different from the other fakes. So I tried injecting my magic through the items. It took a lot of effort but I could do it after three days. This allowed me to see if there was any reaction and if there was, it was something magical.
In total, I found three magical things which I bought. One was a bag which I guessed had a spell to extend the space. I could fit my books, my mags, holy water and around two days worth of food if you didn't ration. I planned to carry all those items at all times unless something came up.
I then got a magic military-grade knife. It was extremely sharp. I meant cut-through metal sharp. I got one of those straps for knives to keep the knife on me at all times. I strapped it to my right arm.
Lastly, the best thing I got was a necklace. It doubled my strength, magic regen and dexterity! This was crazy. I didn't know if it was only cause I was weak or only worked until a certain power level but for me, it was amazing. I wouldn't be fighting any supernatural being but it did increase my chances of survival.
Time passed and it was finally time. D-Day arrived. The start of school.
