A/N: - I don't own Mahouka or any character included in this fiction.
Okay, as for the story then Tatsuya is not nerfed entirely and would carry some of the skills from the OG story. Not all of them since having him carry all those op skills would have required his emotions to be erased and with that, I would have never been able to write a romance between Itachi and Miyuki. If you know what I mean.
Why am I writing when I don't make Tatsuya as powerful as he was...then the answer would be...this is fanfic so I just wanted to change things and write from a perspective where Miyuki could have another romance and Tatsuya can live a normal high school life. Don't judge me since I love TatsuyaxMiyuki ship but the fact that adding those only characters would have not brought many spices as much I want.
As for harem, then I am not sure. Maya and Miyuki are for sure in the harem but whether I would be adding more girls depends on the response from the audience. I won't be taking polls since I already have some ideas of potential love interests.

[August 4, 2092]
Miyuki does not have a grasp of the situation transpiring around her at all. One moment she was trying to calm her mother who was feeling queasy due to her illness which has been tolling her a lot due to the urgent evacuation they were put into and the other moment, she was facing a man holding a rifle pointing in her direction.
There was not a lot that Miyuki knew, but from the surface of it, it seemed the army had attacked Okinawa, and due to being near the warzone, Miyuki along with her Nii-san, Okaa-sama, and Honami-san—her mother's guardian, was told by the matriarch of Yotsuba to take refuge in a nearby shelter.
But that was not the part that was making the girl stand in utter fret and disbelief while tears rolled down her pale cheeks. Everyone around her has been shot down by one of the vigilantes and she could already sense her Nii-san's pulse shutting down.
Miyuki was devasted. She has never been this furious and horrified. It was supposed to be a summer trip where Miyuki had planned to play around with her brother all around Okinawa and visit the famous aquarium as well. She was supposed to be with her family and enjoy her quality time. To make many memories around the rare periods when she was allowed to be spoiled by her mother and have fun with her brother. Honami-san was also a very caring and lovable figure whose company Miyuki liked very much.
Yet...how did this happen...why she was the only one left alive...Didn't the shot come in her direction as well...then why did only Miyuki live but not the people she cares about?
"Unforgivable..."
Muttering under her cold breath, Miyuki let her psion roam freely around her and let loose the control she had over her magical aspect to at least avenge her family members. Soon frost began to freeze even the thin air as the future blizzard princess' hair began to defy the laws of gravity. Her aura was anything but approachable at the moment making the man, who previously shot down the civilians inside the room, tremble in fret and ready to run away from the girl who seemed to be immortal or sort for not being affected by the bullets he fired in her direction.
However, before the man could even inch away from his spot, his body began to...burn.
Miyuki's face contoured in confusion as she saw that it was not her magic which made the man freeze to death but flames too peculiar enshrouded the man from the crown of its head to the tip of his toe, leaving not a single speck which was not in the process of burning.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!"
The room of the shelter was filled with cries of agony and sheer pain as the man despite wanting to get rid of the misery, could only kneel on the floor and let himself be engulfed in the clutches of death and witness himself dying most painfully one could ever experience. The flames never ceased until they didn't bring once a healthy person into a state of cinders and ashes.
Even though she wanted Miyuki was not able to enjoy the death screams of the man and could only turn her head at the end due to the ruthless display of taking someone's life. She indeed was not unaware of the reality she has to live in and the dangers it harbors but as young as the aquamarine-eyed girl was, she couldn't face the harshness of death just now.
"Hime-sama."
"Ah!"
Miyuki instinctively turned toward the source of the voice and found a boy similar to her age standing there just some inches right from her. She didn't even sense or see someone entering the place nor she discerned any mana fluctuation to expect this new presence.
The deepest shade of black Miyuki has ever come across was covering his forehead and was tied in a low ponytail at the back of his head. His midnight eyes gave off a sensation that implicated nonchalance and uncaring toward whatever transpiring around him. His tear troughs going slanted below his eyes were featured Miyuki has never seen someone having before, but at first glance, she could say, if someone could have looked compatible with those features then it was this face.
A height of 5'8 and moderately well-built, the boy stood in front of her with his eyes focused on his front, like he was ensuring there was no immediate threat remaining.
"W-Who?"
Miyuki was too perplexed and astonished at the point to entirely utter her words as she oozed out a single syllable that seemed to hold her priority in the matter. But soon her eyes went wide in realization before she turned on her heels to look at her family members. Tears again dared to spill out of her precious beautiful eyes as she dashed toward her mother who was on verge of death. The same goes for the other two who looked falling into the great slumber from which they could never return.
"Okaa-san! Please stay with me... I... I will..."
Miyuki panicked. As calm and cheerful as she always seems and tends to be, Miyuki couldn't help herself from falling into a state where anxiety and horror of losing her loved ones, only remained. She could not understand who this sudden appearance was nor did she particularly care about him for now since what Miyuki wanted was nothing but to help her family by any means she could.
Her little nose was tinted with a crimson shade with her eyes already slightly swollen because of the amount she has rained down up until now. Even so, her futile attempt to lift her mother and get some help from anyone never came to a halt.
"Please, Hime-sama."
The boy from earlier suddenly appeared again before Miyuki holding her hand to stop her from struggling fruitlessly but the fact that Miyuki was engaged in particularly nothing which could have saved her family was not seen by the girl herself.
In the eyes of the snow princess, the raven-haired boy was just trying to stop her from helping her family and letting them die here. He was trying to kill them, isn't he? By not helping Miyuki to carry them to safety he was just trying to let them die for his sick evil purpose, no?
Without even knowing Miyuki's thoughts began to twist and get dangerous turns as her psions again began to alter the physical reality, this time in motive to pour her anger and frustration on the boy she has just met a minute ago.
However...
"W-W-What are you doing?"
Unexpectedly, the boy brought his left hand over her mother's head with his eyes closed before something began to change. Something which broke the limitation of her expectancy and took her breath away just upon catching a single glance at what the boy was up to.
All the wounds and blood which has spilled out of her mother, relatively taking her life away, began to heal. The pool of her blood proceeded back into her shell and all the bullets dropped to the ground which once was the cause of her mother's potential demise.
It was incomprehensible and utterly astonishing to witness such a feat when a near-dead person was being pulled back to life by that single gesture of this mysterious boy. No CAD, just pure psion waves cast such a miraculous spell.
"M-Miyuki-san...?"
Her attention was pulled back to her mother who already had her eyes weakly parted as she murmured under her breath, but it was enough to make the hime realize that her mother was actually breathing and was no longer in a state of fatal danger.
As inexplicable as it may sound, the rhythm of her heartbeat and the pace of her breath which previously was growing fainter, was now perfectly fine signifying that her mother was no longer at the gates of death.
Miyuki didn't even get over the joy of finding her mother out of the threat zone when suddenly the other two people Miyuki cared about the most began to wake up from their daze as well, with their injuries vanishing just like what happened to her mother.
"Miyuki...?"
"Nii-san."
Tears rolled down her cheeks but this time the reason was contrary to the emotions she was suffering from, previously. This time Miyuki had a smile blooming on her tear-stained face as she saw those whom she adores were returning back to life by none other than the person whom Miyuki was about to freeze to oblivion just now.
Realizing that she no longer could feel anyone besides her Miyuki tore her gaze away from her brother before she turned to look at the side where that strange boy was. Thankfully he didn't have left and still stood there while gazing at no one but her. Still, those eyes carried devoid of any emotion but Miyuki could tell, he was concerned. He was worried for someone or something even though he tried to mask it. Those slight trembles of his irises and his clenched fist gave off his facade and made Miyuki assured that this person was her ally.
Leaving her mother's side for now, Miyuki stood in front of their benefactor to thank him for the blessing of life he bestowed upon her family members. She knew there were no words that could describe how Miyuki was currently experiencing but she had to say something which could let him know what kind of favor he has granted her. A favor she could never in her life be able to repay. A favor she would carry until there was her existence.
Even if he would have asked for her life in return for saving those three who were unexpectedly silent as of now, Miyuki would have agreed to his demand with a smile on her face. She would have complained not a single bit nor would have arrived with any kind of hesitation from her side. After all, Miyuki, who has grown up in a society of selfish creatures and greedy varmints, her family members were the support and the source of love Miyuki could ever turn herself to. Her family was everything to her and to save their life, it goes without saying that the girl would not have thought anything otherwise even for a blink before sacrificing herself.
Yet, standing in front of the boy, she could feel that he desired nothing out of her. No desire of caging her up which some freaks have tried in the past. Nor he seemed to be greedy to attain the support of her family, considering how he has yet to set his eyes on her mother. No malicious hidden intent nor any other motive made the raven-haired beauty perplexed.
But all her queries and doubts along with the words of gratitude she subconsciously was preparing to deliver came to a halt when she found a warm and gentle hand draping over her head and slowly tousling her hair making Miyuki close her left eye and duck her head slightly because of the sudden gesture. But even being startled; for some reason, the sensation was too familiar to brush his hand away.
"I wish I could have come earlier..."
Even though he murmured those words Miyuki was able to hear each one of the syllables of the benefactor loud and clear which brought another sense of confusion along with urgency inside her heart. It was given that she would be confused since it was not his duty to protect them or anything. Urgency, because a feeling that he was going to leave soon made Miyuki panic as she parted her lips to speak only to be blocked by the ponytail-wearing boy suddenly bringing his index finger of the hand he previously was using to pat her, over Miyuki's bloodied lips which the girl bitten subconsciously in state of anxiety previously.
Miyuki looked up at him for the reason for his sudden action and despite having the urge to protest and move away from his sudden action, Miyuki felt herself being locked by his deep prying gaze which seemed to be looking through her flesh and directly gawking at her soul. She was kind of enchanted by that look and was only able to lift her brows to ask why she was not allowed to speak.
Finally, a small smile appeared on the boy's lips as with his eyes growing warm, he spoke enabling Miyuki to hear his voice for the first time properly.
"Don't waste your words on me, Hime. Your words hold more worth than you think. For now, please stay with your family and wait for the help which would be arriving shortly."
As he said, a couple of footsteps approached the shelter led by a man in his forties and a young man with brown hair beside him. They had a similar white and black uniform which Miyuki identified as belonging to the national defense force. Several other soldiers wearing armor vests holding assault rifles rushed inside with the other end of their weapon pointed in the direction of Miyuki or to say the boy standing in front.
"Stay where you are or it won't end well." The young soldier shouted toward the boy but the latter was unaffected by the change in surroundings.
Miyuki panicked slightly as she was about to walk forward and clarify the misunderstanding before something happens to her savior. But she was halted by the hold on her wrist which made the girl once again look back at the deep gaze of the boy. Miyuki was pleading with her gaze to let her go before the soldiers could take any rash action but Miyuki soon widened her eyes upon seeing the shift of the shade of his eyes which turned to deep crimson with black pinwheel patterned around his mysterious eyes.
Her attention from the soldiers and their shouts was completely diverted and converted back to him. Those eyes...she has seen them before...she had met him before today...he has saved her already in the past...why did he disappear last time...why did he appear around now...was he always looking out for her...was he always protecting her...those bullets she never felt injuring her, was it his doing...?
Many questions but she never was able to ask since after whispering his parting words Miyuki yet again lost the person she has desperately tried to search for all those years in the past. There were many common things between both of their meeting but the striking similarity was the words he said the last time was the same this time around as well.
"I will see you soon, Hime."
"Miyuki...are you alright?"
"Ah!"
Miyuki jerked back to reality as the first thing her eyes landed upon was the teapot which was resting over the stove and has grown cold because of the lack of heat it requires to boil the water. She actually never turned the knob and was standing here since then...
"You were thinking about 'him' again, right?"
It was due to the fact that Miyuki has grown along with her best friend and her big brother since childhood and has shared a lot of memories which has formed a strong bond between them, providing the key to knowing each other's thoughts without even asking. It was futile for Miyuki to hide anything from her brother and since he was the best person she could talk to, even more after her mother's death, Miyuki decided to not conceal her troubling emotions.
Turning herself toward her brother who stood with a slight frown of concern contouring his face, Miyuki sighed. Even though she didn't want to make him worry especially because of her, Miyuki always ends up turning his attention toward her in one way or another, much to her regret.
"Indeed I am thinking about him, Nii-san. The person who saved us back in Okinawa and also the one who helped me as a kid as well."
Tatsuya could only sigh and try to console his sister for falling into those memories since he knew even if he tries he could not fulfill her wish to meet that person once again. He could only comfort his Imouto and ask her to maintain her faith in her destiny that she would meet that person in the upcoming future, since finding that boy through the means of Tatsuya's grasp, was nigh impossible.
It was not like Tatsuya didn't try and just accepted his defeat like that. His imouto meant a lot to him so, of course, he gave his all to find anything related to that strange eyes boy who had a miraculous spell of bringing near-dying people back to their health.
Every database he could extend his hands up to and also took the help of his mother back when she was alive but to no avail. Like the person, they saw in Okinawa was just nothing but an illusion. For a second, as absurd as it may sound, they could have accepted that it was a myth and nothing else, but for Miyuki to claim that she has met that person during her childhood as well... Indeed this person was one heck of a master in hiding his traces and source of identities.
Placing his hand over his sister's head affectionately, Tatsuya tried to cheer the downcast girl, with the appropriate words suited for the gloomy situation.
"As I have already failed you regarding this matter...it is not my place to say this but... I really do hope that you would meet him very soon."
Miyuki squeezed a small smile over her beautiful sculpted lips upon seeing the try-hard attempt of her brother to elevate her mood. Even though he was not much good at it and barely pass the line of not being an antisocial being, she knows how good of a person he is and the kindness he carries for the people around him.
Even though she has begun to lose hope to meet this person she has been thinking a lot recently, more so after her mother left her side, Miyuki didn't deny her brother's persuasion and nodded in agreement that she may, if fortune shines over her, would meet her benefactor again.
Tatsuya knew she was faking that smile but it was all he could do for now and hope for the best. Retracting his hand from her head, he heard his imouto telling her that she would bring the coffee in a minute.
Tatsuya was about to leave the kitchen when suddenly something popped into his mind and instinctively he blurted it out loud, much to Miyuki's exclamation.
"That reminds me, Miyuki. Isn't that person seemed to same age as us? Considering the affiliation of all the major magic high schools, I wonder if you finally see a familiar face when we enroll in the First High..."
Though Tatsuya said such only to make Miyuki excited for the new phase of their lives, neither of them could have ever guessed that to meet that person Miyuki does not have to wait for Nine School Competition but...
