~~ALOIS'S P.O.V.~~

I sadly left Ciel after I spontaneously reappeared outside his window. I can understand why he's confused and everything, but did he really have to kick me out like that? Why does he have to be so cold and emotionless all the time? But, I'll listen, just as an obedient and compliant child would. He wanted me to let him sleep, so my only good option was to go to my room and lie around. Doing nothing… The boredom consumes me once again.

The silence was agony. Being a demon doesn't make life much more interesting, as opposed to what you might think it's like. I don't really understand how I'm a demon. Or what I'm supposed to do, now that I am a demon. It's all too mind-numbing for me.

I shut my door quietly, and to my complete and utter surprise, I was not alone in my room. What looked like a cat was peacefully asleep in a shell of blankets in the center of my bed. Demons don't need sleep, but it is more of a luxury. I guess not sleeping won't necessarily affect me negatively. And I really don't want to wake Mitsuki up. She looks serene. I watched the steady rise and fall of her shoulders while she breathed and pushed my back up against my bedroom door then sank to the floor.

What am I supposed to do until morning that won't wake anyone up? Being a demon is dreadful. Anything else would've been better. I want more excitement.

My eyes moved to the window. A calming silvery light flooded in through an open crack in the curtains. It's going to be a while before morning. I shut my eyes.

I heard running footsteps through the walls behind me. The stomping continued for a few minutes. I figured it would've woken the cat-girl up, but of course it didn't. Something like that wouldn't wake a normal cat up, so it won't affect her either. I opened my eyes and pushed myself off of the ground. The footsteps moved from behind the door and grew quieter. I pushed the door open a crack to look out. It's too dark to see anything, so I pushed it open further and stepped out. My eyes adjusted extremely quickly. It was like it wasn't nighttime at all. Probably not a human power. I'll have to get used to this.

My eyes moved from one end of the hallway to the other. I saw a figure dart across the room on the right end of the hall. I slowly stalked on until I reached the room. Before I knew what was happening, a hand was covering my mouth and a blade was held to my neck. The figure behind me waited for a moment before reacting.

"A-Alois? Alois Trancy?! You're alive?!" A female voice choked from behind me.

I tried to grin under the hand covering my mouth, "Alive? I wouldn't say that." It turned into a faint whisper.

The figure moved out from behind me, and to my relief, removing the knife from my neck. I blinked my eyes and saw Asami standing before me with a sweet smile. She looked like she was trying to tell if it was actually who it looks like. The girl clearly put the thought aside and kept smiling.

She went into her own little state of happiness, "I can't believe it~!" she paused and became more solemn, "Does Ciel know you're here? He was worried."

"Yes. I saw him first." I stopped to let her calm down, "More importantly, why are you here? And why did you try to kill me?!"

Asami sulked, "I'm sorry~… It's my turn to guard the manor tonight. Ciel's orders. You looked suspicious, being that you're a random non introduced person in the manor at midnight… You can't blame me. Guests should always come in the morning or afternoon, when the master is awake." I could tell she felt bad.

"No worries, but try to think first, stab second. Alright? And, for your information, I am sort of the head of the house." I smiled. She nodded, still upset.

"Forgot about that. I'm glad you're here. But, you should get to bed. You've been gone a while and need to relax a bit."

"Very well. You'll eventually need some rest, too. Don't work yourself too hard. You'll get yourself killed. Goodnight." I turned back and left her in the hall. My vision stayed bright and well adjusted for a while, but I became tired of keeping it that way. I somehow made my sight go dark again, as an ordinary human see's in the darkness. My feet moved up next to my bedroom door and I gently pushed it open to let out a creak. I looked over at the calmly resting cat-girl on my bed again. And just the same, I sink down onto the floor and moved my eyes to the silver light being shed through the crack in the curtains.

Even though the hybrid is gone, I still feel its eyes watching me. It's a constant anxiety ever since I got back from wherever it had me. But, if I keep thinking about it, I'll go mad. If I go mad, then it will have won. I can't have that, can I? Giving up and losing my mind is the easy way out. And I've never been one for taking the easy way out of anything. Even if I do bend rules occasionally, I would never be able to let myself lose my mind. Especially if I have something to live for.

I felt the sensation of eyes observing me grow stronger and more tangible. The only think unknown to me was where they were hiding. I push myself up from the ground and look around the room, inspecting everything I could.

It was as if the shadows were alive, all moving in unison. My mind grew fuzzier and my surroundings got foggier. I started losing my balance and fell back. I looked around at the environment around me and saw what looked like female Satan above me. Everything becomes dark and I black out.

Trouble is prone to finding me.
