Chapter 6 -A Very Merry Christmas-
The next morning,
Cold, winter air passed through the broken glass window near Len's bed. Len shivered, pulling the blankets closer to him. But it wasn't enough to fight the coldness of his surroundings. He sneezed and fluttered his eyes open. He sat up and wore his slippers. He stretched his arms and rubbed his eyes. His hair was a mess and he was still in his pajamas. He lazily stood up and headed to the door, yawning.
He opened the door and found a splendid sight. Wreaths placed with poinsettias, christmas balls, candy canes and christmas lights filled the room. And on the center of the enormously large living room stood a 6-feet tall Christmas tree decorated with different Christmas ornaments. Len looked up and saw a mistletoe hanging on the top of the door. Miku, who was busy putting the decorations for the Christmas tree, noticed him and smiled.
"Oh, Len, you're up early." she says, her strict tone still present in her voice. Len was quite surprised when he heard Miku call him properly by his name.
" Miku-sama, I'm surprised. You're addressing me by my name properly." Len teased her, knowing that that would activate that tsundere side of hers.
"I-it's nothing. You saved me last night after all... And also, Christmas is coming near. It's tonight, you idiot." Miku answered, not looking at him in the eye.
"Ah! Right! I almost forgot! Thanks for reminding me about Christmas, Miku-sama. You must have like Christmas a lot."
"No, I don't care about these occassions... It's just that... I finally met true friends that care about me from the heart." Miku explained with a soft expression. Len smiled, feeling the soft and kind side of his master.
"Len, prepare yourself... We're going out to buy some last-minute gifts." Miku told him.
"Gifts?"
"It's for you and your sister, you brainless idiot."
Twenty minutes later,
Len and Miku were outside the mansion, dressed up in thick coats and clothes. A black, toyota car was already parked in front of the mansion.
"Len, I'm sure you know how to drive." Miku said, staring at the car.
"Yeah, I know... Why? Is the chaffeur not present?"
"Yes. I let all the servants go back to their families for a week to spend Christmas with them.," Miku answered as she entered the car. Len smiled before getting inside and taking the driver's seat.
"Does that include me, Miku-sama?" Len asked her, feeling a special kind of warmth in his heart after realizing that Miku is really kind and generous despite that cold and strict attitude she displays.
"I-If you want to, then you can..."
"Thank you, Miku." Miku's face flushed red and she covered it with her bangs. Luckily, Len wasn't able to notice it.
Len had fun accompanying Miku. He had seen a lot of angles of Miku's tsundere moments. He was so happy that he smiled, laughed and grinned the whole time. Miku couldn't understand why, but she also smiled seeing him quite happy. Len and Miku keep their presents to each other and to Rin a secret to each other to make it a surprise. Miku was quite thankful that she talked to Rin yesterday since it helped her a lot in choosing what gift to give to Len. (Clue: Banana)
They also went to different places. Only Len was able to realize that it almost seemed like a date. They went on a food trip (Len discovered that Miku likes leeks...A LOT like he is addicted to bananas.) They teased each other about their favorites (since Len's hair looks like a bunch of bananas and Miku looks like a leek because of her long teal hair). They watched a movie ( a romance one) and Miku almost vomitted because of the fluffiness and the cheesiness of the movie. (She had to stay inside the comfort room for 10 minutes!)
They went to the carnival and rode the roller coaster (Len and Miku screamed the whole time!). They went inside the horror house (Miku clutched to Len the whole time... OwO) And lastly, the classical ferris wheel. Miku and Len enjoyed the view a lot and it seems that our Lenny is liking his Miku-sama a lot! (hehe...Rin here!)
They had so much fun that they were laughing when they got off the ferris wheel (well, the tsun side of Miku suddenly disappeared). Then they saw Rin, holding a pair of binoculars while sitting on a bench near the ferris wheel.
(OOPS! They caught me! xD)
" Rin-chan? Why are you here?" Miku asks, looking at Rin with a puzzled look. Rin quickly hid the binoculars behing her back.
"N-nothing... Just looking at the view probably.," Rin lied to them. (teehee! :p)
"I see... Merry Christmas, Rin-chan." Miku said, holding out a colorfully wrapped box with a smile. Rin took it and nodded. Len held out a Christmas paper bag and said "Merry Christmas, onee-chan." (Kawaii~~~) Rin took it and smiled at the two of them.
"Thank you, Miku... And cute little brother." Rin said with teary eyes as she stood up. Miku pushed Len to Rin.
"Spend some time with your sister, Len... Here." she said as she threw a creatively wrapped box to Len. Len took it and stared at Miku.
"Miku-sama... Thank you. Merry Christmas." Len said with a smile as he gave Miku a box wrapped with white Christmas wrapper. And with that, Len and Rin went home to their condominium unit. Rin opened Miku's gift and saw a coupon of one year supply of oranges from VocaloMart and orange-designed headphones. Her eyes sparkled as she hugged it close to her chest like a child.
"Aren't you gonna open mine, Rin-nee san?"
"No because it's a box of oranges again... I know it. Len, you open yours ,too."
Rin answered, so focused on the headphones. Len stared at the gift Miku gave him. He opened it and found a coupon of one year supply of banana from VocaloMart and a laptop with banana design. Len's eyes sparkled. A laptop for him?! Isn't that amazing? He never even noticed Miku buying any gadget.
"Hey, Len... Why don't we spend Christmas with Miku-chan?," Rin suggested. Len suddenly realized that Miku would be alone in that mansion if her servants aren't there. She was always surrounded with servants and Len never remembered her being surrounded by other people. Len stood up which surprised Rin.
"Rin, you're right... I should stay by her side at this very moment."
Five minutes later, the Kagamines barged inside Miku's mansion. They found Miku sleeping underneath the Christmas tree, wearing the silver necklace that Len gave as a present. Len looked at her and smiled. Rin grinned and shook Miku hard.
"Miku-chan, wake up! It's Christmas! Let's have fun!" Rin shouted cheerfully.
Miku's eyes fluttered open. She saw a grinning Rin and smiling Len in front of her. She smiled and said "Merry Christmas."
Len, Miku and Rin had fun playing games, singing in the karaoke, eating the food inside the fridge and talking about various things. They had fun until they felt sleepy. Miku stood on the door of her room, rubbing her eyes.
"Thanks, guys. I had a lot of fun."
"No, it's nothing, Miku-chan." Rin said with a smile.
"Rin, you could sleep at the next room if you like." Miku said to her. Rin nodded.
"So goodnight, Rin... Len." Miku said, looking at Rin then at Len. Len and Miku stared at each other's eyes.
"Merry Christmas, guys!," Rin pushed Len to Miku. Len tripped and he accidentally kissed Miku underneath the mistletoe. Miku directly pushed Len away and shut the door, her cheeks flushed red. Len stood there, dumbstruck, holding his lips. He reminisced what happened and it made his face look red as a tomato. Steam went out of his head and he eventually fainted. Rin just giggled at what happened to the two (hehe... I'm so evil!).
