Odin felt nothing. His final gambit had failed, and his gut had been pierced through. Still, there was no pain or regret in his body. Huginn and Muninn screeched in terror while trying to land on Odin's outstretched arm. However, to the ravens' disdain, Odin's hand began to fade into a green dust upon their touch. Odin looked up to the many gods who began to weep at the sight of his imminent demise; they knew what happened next would be the end of Ragnarök.
"You damned geezer!" Loki wailed painfully from the audience, "You can't leave us yet."
Without a word, Thor made eye contact with his father. A somber gaze was the only consolation he could lend the dying god.
Odin watched his children with what blurry vision he had left. Speaking only loud enough for his ravens to hear, he said "Goodbye… my foolish sons."
On the other side of the arena, Sigurd spoke quietly to his partner. "Looks like we did it, Brun-chan." He sighed and fell backwards onto the arena floor as Brunhilde materialized in front of him. "That was the part where you were supposed to catch me." He said, laughing between blood-curdled coughs.
Brunhilde fell to her knees in exhaustion, just beside Sigurd. "Looks like we're even now."
Sigurd snorted, then winced in pain. He gazed down at the enormous cavity left in his torso, observing how his red blood began to glow green. "It's too bad. Looks like we won't be seeing this through to the end."
Brunhilde took Sigurd's hand and smiled at him. "You and I both know. Leaving this arena alive was never an option. Still... I'm happy. Happy to go with you. And happy that I'll be joining my fallen sisters once more." She then stared up at her youngest sister who stood in the audience. Göll was holding back tears but refused to lower her head. "You've become strong, Göll. I'm sorry that I can't watch you grow any further. I know you'll do a superb job taking my place amongst the Valkyries."
With that, the final participants of Ragnarök faded into oblivion, and all the gods and humanity wept in unison. At this point in time, there were no Gods. There were no humans. All that existed were mourners for those who had just been sent to Niflheimr.
Fulfilling his sworn duty, Heimdall raised his horn to the sky and screamed. "The decisive battle between humanity and the gods is over! With the first 12 rounds leaving gods and humans with 6 wins each... this battle… and Ragnarök itself… has ended in a draw!"
Neither side knew what to do at this moment. Most could do nothing but mourn those who have been lost. However, a few strong warriors began to cheer from the audience. Every human entourage, including Guan Yu, Edison, and every sumo in the world began to cheer wildly. The sacrifice of those whom they respected did not go in vain. Slowly, the rest of humanity rejoiced as well, many still crying at the same time. Enormous cheers exploded. Friends of Hercules celebrated, as they knew their friend would be elated with this outcome. Shakespeare, among many other writers, waved books in the air, having already completed recollections of this monumental event. Even the three sages who supported Buddha screamed in catharsis.
Amongst the tears and cheers, Loki suddenly descended to the arena. Every eye, ear, and heart in existence began to focus on him.
"What a lovely departure! You humans put on such an amazing show. I can speak for every god here when I say that you far exceeded our expectations." Loki spoke excitedly, before suddenly changing to a grave expression. "But how unfortunate for you. Despite all your valiant efforts, you were unable to defeat us gods. Now you're all gonna have to die."
Shouts of anger and resentment roared from humanity.
"What the hell are you talking about? We showed you humanity's strength!"
"Are you blind? We didn't lose! Just look at the scoreboard!"
Loki jeered at those who spoke up. "Our condition was that you'd be saved if you could best us gods in Ragnarök. Could you all be stupid enough to think a draw counts as a win?"
Appearing before Loki in the arena, Buddha stood tall. "Isn't that enough playing around? Or are you prepared to disgrace your father's legacy even further?"
"Since you love humans so much, how about you just die with them then?" Loki retorted.
Both fighters prepared their weapons to fight. Beelzebub and Adamas were the first to intervene. "He's right." Adamas said. "We did this to kill all of humanity. It would be shameful to backtrack now."
Buddha pointed his staff toward Beelzebub, ignoring Adamas. "This is perfect. I have something to discuss with you."
"I have no business with you." Beelzebub replied. "I'm here for him." Buddha followed Beelzebub's gaze behind him, to where Qin and Sasaki had appeared, already wielding their Völunds.
"Hao!"
"It's hard to believe someone like Hades would keep such unrefined company." Sasaki said, feeling the piercing glare of Adamas.
More and more of the previous fighters started to join the arena, barring Zeus who watched pensively from the stands.
"I have no problem with humanity surviving any longer." Shiva declared. "But I must admit I'm eager for another fight. How about you?" Shiva asked Thor who stood nearby.
Thor only smiled excitedly in reply.
"That's quite the ugly color you have. My dear lady." Jack taunted.
The surviving fighters from previous rounds all prepared their weapons to fight. A loud roar came from the audience, both gods and humanity cheered their fighters on as they prepared to charge one another.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" A familiar voice screamed. The fighters and audience turned to see the source of the voice that dared to stop them. What they saw was Heimdall struggling to wrestle his horn away from the one who had stolen it, but she was surprisingly strong for her size. "Humanity's champions have already sacrificed enough. I won't let them shed any more blood here." Göll declared to the stadium.
Loki appeared behind Göll, pretending to wring her neck. "What a noble child. Then how about we just eliminate humanity quickly then? I won't even leave a single drop of blood to fall on the ground."
To Loki's surprise, Göll was unphased. She was not paying him any mind at all. She only stared up at Zeus. "How the mighty Zeus has fallen. You sent your best warriors and couldn't even defeat the humans you looked so far down upon. Now you gods are trying to execute wounded men because you're afraid to fight once more."
The gods shouted in outrage. Screaming for Göll to be beheaded. They were similarly furious as to when they had been provoked by Brunhilde not so long ago. A quietly provoked Zeus raised his hand for the audience to silence themselves. "Well then, child. What do you suggest we do here?"
Göll spoke confidently, carrying a demeanor unlike anything she had ever shown before in Ragnarök. "A new Ragnarök. With new fighters and new rules. This time, humanity will get at least 7 wins."
Dread spread across the audience. They were fearful of what might happen. But still, they were curious about Göll's proposal; About what another Ragnarök might entail.
"But I won't settle for just 7 wins." Göll said. "This time. I plan to kill every last God you send out."
While humanity remained silent, the gods began to laugh at Göll. They rebuked her silly declaration. How foolish she was to assert such dominance when she had exhausted humanity's greatest fighters.
"And when humanity wins. It will be the gods who meet their end."
