Chapter 8-The official date-

"W-what are you talking about, you perverted idiot! That request is impossible!" Miku shouted, pushing Len away from her but Len was too strong for Miku to escape from him. Len tilted his head to the right.

"Impossible?" Len asked with clueless cerulean orbs.

"I-I'm too young for that, you idiot!"

"Too young? Don't tell me that you were thinking of dirty things, Miku-sama?" Len teased, grinning. Miku's face went red.

"Of course not, you idiotic butler!" Miku answered directly as she avoided his gaze. Len lowered his head, placing it near Miku's right ear.

"But your face is red, you must be lying, Miku-sama…"Len whispered, his warm breath brushing against Miku's smooth skin, making Miku shiver. Miku, who couldn't stand that scene anymore, clenched her fist and punched Len in the stomach. Len wasn't thrown away this time around but he felt like his insides were hit by a hammer, making him release his hold on Miku. Miku immediately sat up, ensuring that she's far away from Len's reach.

"W-what do you really want, you idiotic, perverted butler?"

"A festival… There's a festival t-tonight at the shrine. It will last until dawn a-and I really want to go there with you, Miku-sama." Len explained, clutching his painful stomach. Miku was quite surprised that it was far from what she thought.

"Y-you should have said that in the first place, idiot!"

= 8 PM=

Len patiently waited outside the mansion, the cold, winter breeze brushing his cheeks. He clutched his fur jacket closer to his body to keep him warm. He rubbed his two hands and breathed on it. It's getting colder, he thought as he stared at the starry, night sky. Small, white particles fell down on his hands. He smiled, feeling a bit childish inside.

"Len?" a soft voice called out. Len turned around and saw the most beautiful sight. Miku stood there, wearing a white and teal kimono with a blue obi, her hair tied in a ponytail by a flower ornament. Len stared at her for a very long time. Miku looked down, hiding her embarrassment. Len took his phone from his pocket.

"Miku-sama!" Len called out. Miku looked at him.

Len smiled. He just took a photo of Miku in a kimono. How nice.

"W-What did you do, you baka?!" Miku looked flustered, her cheeks turning pink.

"Nothing~~" Len answered, whistling. Miku puffed her cheeks.

"Anyways, we should go now, Miku-sama." Len walked towards his bike and dragged it towards Miku. Miku looked at him with disbelief.

"We're going there by bike?!"

"Isn't it more romantic that way, Miku-sama?" Len asked, reaching out his hand. Miku stared at it, her cheeks red.

"F-fine, if that is what you want…" Miku answered, placing her hand on Len's outreached hand. Miku stepped down the stairs, evading those cerulean orbs that make her heart jump. Miku slowly sat on the passenger's seat. Her tiny hands grabbed a part of Len's jacket. Len smiled, placing one of his feet on the pedal.

"Hold tight." Len instructed Miku, taking her two, soft hands and wrapping it around his waist. Miku's eyes widened, staring at Len's back. Len started pedaling, making Miku hug him tight. She whimpered in fright. She never tried riding a bicycle before since she's always afraid of falling from the bike. Len smiled at how vulnerable Miku was. He pedaled faster, his golden locks of hair flowing softly along the wind. Miku hugged Len tighter, shimmering, warm teardrops forming in the corner of her eyes. Len laughed, making Miku pout.

"You're such a bully, Len." Miku said, burying her face in Len's thick jacket, smelling a fresh scent of mint.

"Sorry… I just find it cute, that's all. I wish I could see your frightened face."

"You're quite sadistic, aren't you?"

"We're here," Len spoke, stopping in front of a stony stairway with orange-reddish lanterns everywhere. Miku's eyes shimmered in wonder. There were shops and booths everywhere, people merrily roaming around, buying various stuffs. Len looked at Miku and smiled. This would probably be his best birthday ever and he's sure of it. Miku and Len got off the bike, Miku's teal orbs wandering around in amazement. Len parked the bicycle and walked towards Miku, who looked really excited.

"Let's go!" Len grabbed Miku's hand and ran along the stairway. They reached the top and found a more colorful sight: a kagura dance by a brown-haired shrine maiden. Miku was mesmerized by the different, warm atmosphere, her eyes shining. Miku grabbed Len, forcing their way to the front. Miku's eyes sparkled and she clapped her hands, smiling. Len was quite surprised to see that side of Miku. He felt his heart skip a beat. Len glanced at her once again, and in his eyes, she was sparkling, so radiant… so beautiful. Len smiled and closed his eyes, realizing his feelings for Miku once more.

Miku finished watching the kagura dance with delight. She never even noticed that Len was staring at her and holding her hand the whole time. Her stomach suddenly rumbled. Len gave a hearty laugh. Miku's face went red in embarrassment.

"Do you want to eat something, Miku-sama?"

Len and Miku went to a ramen shop. Miku stared curiously at the ramen in front of her, holding her chopsticks with her right hand. Len looked at her, quite amused. Len started sipping his ramen noodles. Miku looked at him and gulped. She stared at it once again, swallowing hard.

"I-itadakimasu…" She said, clapping her hands. She took a bite of the noodles and a sip of the soup.

"I-it's delicious!" Miku exclaimed, eating the ramen wholeheartedly. Len smiled.

"Of course. It's the best ramen there is!" Len gave a heart melting glare. Miku's face went red as she ate the ramen faster. She swallowed hard and drank a glass of water.

"Miku-sama…" Miku glanced at Len. Len's cheeks were red as his lips touched Miku's cheeks. Miku shivered, her face as red as a tomato.

"Miku-sama, there was sauce on your cheeks, that's why…" Len explained immediately.

"I-is that so? Thanks, I guess…" Miku said in a soft voice. Len was surprised at Miku's calm reaction.

"W-why don't we go look at other stalls, Len?"

"Y-yes, we should."

Miku and Len visited other stalls and had fun eating various foods like; crêpe, candy apple, soba noodles, fried squid, chocolate banana, cotton candy and takoyaki. Len won a goldfish, a cute, teal bunny and an amusement park ticket for two and gave it to Miku, who was quite overwhelmed.

They walked hand-in-hand but Miku never noticed. They stared at the stall selling masks at the side of the road. Miku bought the traditional white mask with the face of a fox. It was almost midnight and so Len brought Miku at the back of the shrine, where they would be able to see the fireworks clearly. Miku was wearing the white mask and Len longed to take that off. Len remembered the first time he met Miku and that made him laugh.

"What's wrong with you? Have you gone crazy or something?" Miku asked him, seeing him laugh so hard.

"Nothing… I'm just laughing at myself." Len answered, taking a seat on the bench. Miku sat beside him, looking at him curiously.

"You're laughing… at yourself?"

"Yeah… It's because… I hated you when I first met you. I even thought that no guy would like a demon like you. And here I am… madly, deeply in love with you." Len softly said. Inside the mask, Miku's face became really red.

"S-stop saying those words so suddenly, you baka!" Miku threw little punches on Len's chest. Len laughed.

"Then I'll say it again…"

"I love you, Miku-sama."

Miku froze. Her heart beating so rapidly as he said those words.

"I love you, Miku-sama."

Miku felt so hot even though it was a cold, winter night.

"I love you-"Miku immediately covered his mouth with her hand.

"Y-you really are such a bully, Len!" Miku stuttered. Len took her hands off his mouth. He took off Miku's mask and saw the red-faced Miku. The fireworks started, decorating the sky like colorful flowers. It was a fleeting moment that distracted Miku.

"Miku…" Len called out. Miku faced him and suddenly found Len's lips on hers. Len withdrew and smiled, brushing Miku's cheeks gently with his thumb. Miku stared at him, her heart racing.

"Miku-sama, please let me… express my feelings… for you." Len said, closing his eyes. He leaned in closer to Miku. Miku closed her eyes and held Len's cheeks with her hands. Len smiled and moved closer to Miku's face, the fireworks dancing in the sky merrily.

Quite cheesy, isn't it? HEHE...
