Chapter 13 –Tearing it all into two-

Miku's POV,

"Tou-sama, Len's here to say something…" I nervously said, seeing my father looking so seriously at us. His cold glare pierced my heart and I shivered for the nine-hundredth time since I was born. I remember referring my father as someone warm and kind when I was younger. But it was probably just an illusion… right, it was a result of wild imaginations.

He said nothing. Instead, he just stared at us with those piercing, deadly eyes. Len gulped. I could sense how frightened he was. He was shaking and I instantly held his hand tightly. Len looked at me with those beautiful cerulean orbs that I have come to love so much. I smiled warmly, hoping that I lifted his spirits up. He nodded, understanding what I was thinking.

"S-sir… uhm… I… I, Prince Kagamine Len III of Austriche, am asking your daughter's hand for marriage." Len nervously said, bowing before my father like how a prince should be.

"Y-You, a mere butler?! HA! YOU CANNOT FOOL ME! You are not a prince!" my father scowled loudly. I noticed Len grit his teeth. I grabbed him by the arm to suppress his anger.

"You're a mere commoner! You do not deserve my daughter! She lived a princess's life! How could you support her luxurious life?! LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH!" my father babbled on.

"Father, stop it! I… I don't care about luxury! Y-yes…I lived a princess's life. But life isn't worth it if there's no love! I'd rather be poor than live in an extravagant mansion without anyone by my side!" I answered courageously. My father was quite shocked with what I said.

"Yes, Miku is right! For us, love is enough! We'll make it through! After all, I could support her life! She would become the princess of my kingdom when she becomes my wife! She will live like how she lived now… But she'll be happier! I'll make her happy! I won't leave her side! I will never make her cry! I'll give my everything to her! My wealth, my heart, my body, my soul, my time and even my life! Just… let me be with her!" Len exclaimed, warm and strong emotions overflowing from his words.

I felt a tear slide down my cheeks.

Len looked bravely at my father, trying to hold back his own self from punching my dad. The guards seized him and dragged him away. I reached for his hand, running after him.

"Len, I-"

"Miku… Wait for me. I'll come and get you soon. Please… wait for me."

Len said with teary eyes. With one, short, warm smile, his hand slid from my grasp.

"Len…" I fell down on my knees and stared absent-mindedly at the empty hall. I heard the sound of the door being opened.

"You don't need to be depress, my princess… I did it all for your sake." I heard my father say those words softly, like how a loving parent should be. I bit my lips to stop the tears from flowing but it won't stop. The tears won't stop…

"Len… was the only person who made me feel loved. You were always so strict… so distant. Brother left the house to be with mother. And you still can't forgive Mother. Len made me happy… I felt happier ever since the day I met him. He's my life… Without him, life is dull and meaningless." I said, passing by him and bumping him by the shoulder. I ignored my father and walked towards my room.

"I am serious, my daughter. I just wanted to see how far he would go for your sake. If he truly loves you, then he will come back for you. I'm sure of it." My father mumbled. I couldn't understand him. I don't understand him at all.

…Even if he's my father.

FOUR YEARS LATER,

Ugh! Damn that alarm clock!

I hit the new, expensive alarm clock hard with my fist, wrecking it. Hmm… I think I'd broken about four thousand alarm clocks already. Oh well… I rolled over to the side and saw my waifu pillow of Len. Well, I've found an alternative… but it's still not enough. I could see Len and touch him using this pillow but I can't feel him.

I miss him a lot. So much. So much. I don't even want to talk to anyone else. I want to see him personally. It's been four years already…
