Author's Note: …can someone go to school instead of me? I really don't wanna go to school…ugh…yeah, I'm in college…and my math teacher is so bad DX oh well, you win some and you lose some…*sigh* Thanks to snakedabomb for reviewing. And there are actually drawings of the ones I described somewhere down below; you gotta look for them. Ugh, can anyone think of a title for this chapter? Damnit…Oh and the description that said about the two arachnids—it actually represents Gohma…the thing from Ocarina of Time.

Chapter 25: Nightmares will always haunt us
Midna stared at me as if I had gone insane…well…
"W…what?" she finally uttered; her red eyes were wide as a pumpkin.
"I saw him." I repeated.
She frowned. "Link…I seriously don't know if you're alright or not but there was no one here…only me and you…"
Now that got me worried and frightened.
After that little…um, I'm not even sure what to call it—an illusion? Dream? Nightmare?—I swore to myself that I'm never going back to sleep ever again. I know that's going to be a horrible mistake but I want to live.
Is that so wrong? No? Didn't think so.
I just really want to get out of this hell of a place. I think this one is the worst temple I had ever been to.
Occasionally, I had to lean against a wall in order to get rid of the sand that was buried in my boots…somehow…and right after that, I was able to continue to hunt for those blasted poes. I'm still paranoid abou the ghostly whispers but other than that, I'm just dandy.
No, not really.
I eyed cautiously at the swinging chandelier when I had returned to the main chamber. I just defeated another poe which makes to have only one left. I can just imagine one of the ghosts swinging the chandelier in a spooky way.
Couldn't you?
…scratch that…that would be…erm…just plain weird…
I cringed when the redead gave out its infamous shriek, causing me to paralyze. When it stopped, I immediately hacked it away which quickly killed him.
I frowned. How can something be dead…again?
My hand trailed over the ancient drawings that were on some of the walls and doors. It looked like they represented what it looked like two witches, Ganondorf (of course) and the Hero of Time.
I sighed, having my head to lean against the cold wall while I closed my eyes, letting many thoughts to run into my mind.
So much has happened and I was surprised to that I still kept my sanity…well…I'm gonna lose it anyway in this horrid dungeon.
I continued to study the ancient drawings. There were many such as two drawings being arachnid though the thing that puzzled me the most was the thing being in the middle of the arachnids. The more I look at the object, the more it made me realize what it actually was.
It was a human being fed to them. Grossed out, I turned myself away from the pictures only to resume to look at the other ones…excluding that one.
"Hey what's this one?" Midna asked, staring in awe at a long drawing. In one spot, it looked like a mane and a thin curving body.
I furrowed my eyebrows with confusion.
"I don't know."
Staring at it doesn't really help since I still didn't know what it was. That being said, I moved on to the next one which made me to be blink with surprise. This picture held many linings and a…huge gigantic eye that was in the center.
I racked my brain, trying to find of where I had seen this eye. It was then that I knew where it was—the Sheikahs.
I titled my head to the side. The more I look at the eye, the more it didn't seem to be a symbol from the Sheikahs.
The eye from the Sheikahs held eyelashes and a tear with no eyeball. This one did not.
Strange.
"Link." Midna's voice replied. Though, something about it threw me off since she sounded scared.
I frowned, glancing at her. "What?"
Her eyes never left of whatever she was staring that made her horrified. Sighing and rolling my eyes, I turned back to what I was doing until something unwelcoming started to grab around my neck. It was almost like a snake that was slithering its way to your neck.
I froze and the second I turned (very slowly, mind you) I gave out a blood-curdling scream which definitely jolted Midna with alarm.
Terrified and hurriedly, I removed the object that lingered around my neck before darting away from it only to fall from a loose wood.
My heart rate just went ten times faster than normal. I quickly crawled backwards until my back softly hit against the wall.
What terrified me was that ahead of me was the dead rotten skeleton with lifeless that creepily stared at me—no it wasn't a redead, thank the Goddesses. That thing had its hand wrapped around my neck.
Do you not know just how creepy that was?
Very creepy.
"Oh My Goddesses. Oh My Goddesses." I whispered, frantically as I started to rock back and forth. "Never…never…" I squeaked.
After my hysteria had settled down, I was beginning to be more paranoid about this dungeon. I transformed myself into a wolf when I reached the last room—the room which contained the last poe.
Once I honed my senses on, I saw the poe that was lazily latched itself against a wall. It then sensed that there was a presence since it started to come after me so I got into my usual fighting stance. However, instead of fighting one on one, the poe suddenly made many duplicate of itself.
It was hard to find out who was the real poe but once the light from the rest of the poes faded out, I now knew which the real poe was. The real poe would still have its light being emitted out when the rest of its duplicates lights' faded.
Nevertheless, the poe was defeated like many before him so I once again went back to the very main chamber only to discover that four torches was now lit again. The great big door that once was closed was sliding itself back up, allowing me to go into it; so I did just that.
It was a very large chamber, being brightly lit. There were holes on the ground, causing me to be curious since I wanted to know why they were there and what their purpose is.
I turned to my left to see yet another door which I opened it. I looked down, instantly knowing that it was quite a long jump so I took out my sword out and did a jump attack. In result, I had less pain than if I were to jump with nothing though I felt wobbly when I landed funny on my ankle.
Shaking myself out of the wobbly state, I continued to do the necessary things such as opening doors (I swear; one day, after all of this, my muscles are gonna be sore), obtaining small keys from treasure chests, being scolded from Midna since I had my left shoulder burnt from a flying fire skull and all those other "fun stuff".
And of course, I still found more of those drawings such as one of them had many people and it looked like that each of them held swords and almost in the middle stood another figure.
The second my hand touched picture, a shock came in contact with my hand automatically making me to pull my hand back whereas a sudden abrupt pull entered my mind, forcing me to remember the strange "dream" I had not too long ago.
Realization dawned upon me. This picture…
It represented Ganondorf's execution…
Being spooked out, I hastily turned away from the eerie drawing.
Midna was being Midna since she kept on sputtering something out as if something had crawled into her mouth, unpleasantly. I just rolled my eyes at her for being a Drama Queen.
It wasn't too soon that I had arrived a new area. This one was a huge chamber, being filled with dark evil energy which I despise. I got stiffened when I heard those same spooky whispers but shrugged them off.
I eyed carefully the big black sword that was tied down with ropes but I could definitely feel the black magic radiating from it. There were also papers that were dangling from the ropes that were holding down the sword.
As if I was in some kind of a trance, I cut one of the ropes from my sword.
The black sword with eerie red linings started to shake a bit then paused. It was then that it shook again though this time, it was a more powerful shook. In a blink of an eye, the black sword dispersed the ropes into flames. It then lifted itself out of the spot while emitting black mist out of the ground and once it got out of the spot, it did some vicious swings before it finally stopped in one place, floating in midair.
However, the massive sword once again twirled around before it struck the ground heavily, cutting bits of te grounds. I stared at the sword that laid a few centimeters ahead of me before the sword brought itself back up.
The battle had begun.
Since I couldn't see it, Midna transformed me back into a wolf and right after I honed my senses, I instantly could see the enemy.
It was a ghost with black long robes and with mist that was covering a third of its robes. The head was in a weird shape since it looked like it got flattened. It gave out an angry shriek and it was then that the ghost made itself to be lit up while it brought its sword down.
I took this chance to attack its weak point which what it looked like its neck. Outraged, the beast threw me off its back and I slammed hard against a wall. I thought I had heard a crack…Understanding that I didn't need my senses anymore, I took them off and started to fight him.
The beast gave one more angered shriek until it started to fly around lazily. I helplessly looked at the ghost then at Midna who shrugged in response.
By then, I changed myself back to my human form while asking one of the most famous questions.
"What am I supposed to do?" I asked, staring at the visible ghost.
"Um…" Midna responded, trying to rack her brain for something. "Try shooting with your arrows?"
I shrugged. "Looks like that might be the only choice I have."
Going with that idea, I took out my favorite weapon of all times—okay, okay, other than the Master Sword—and started to aim at its neck. I released the arrow which struck the weak point and because of that, the monster screamed in agony as it flew around the room before it finally fell on its knees.
I attacked it again, forcing him to cancel his attacks. His head bent lowly which allowed me to hack it away by using my sword. The more I study the horrible creature, the more I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going insane.
What I mean is that it looked like the beast's neck was bent in an oddly way. However, when it fell down to its knees, I examined that its spine was bent only to be covered by the robes.
I did the process two more times until at last, the dark creature went berserk. It thrashed its head around, trying to erase the immense pain as it gave out a horrifying shriek until it stopped moving. Its deathly weapon clattered on the floor and I could tell the dark power fading away.
The beast then exploded into fluttering locusts that disappeared through a hole in the ceiling; the room got lit up again.
Seeing the door ahead of me, I went towards it and soon found a chest afterwards. I looked at the strange device. It had a large top with a gear along the outer edge. Its main colors were yellow, blue, red and silver.
"What's this?" Midna asked, eyeing the odd device.
I shrugged. "I…don't know."
Deciding that I wanted to try it out, I instantly thought that I should stand on it. Once I stood on it, I wobbled a lot which also made me to lose my balance so I fell on the floor, earning Midna to laugh. I scowled at her before trying it again.
This time it worked, causing to Midna to shut up which in return made me to smirk at her misfortune. I noticed many tracks that were attached to edge of the wall so I decided to try out the device to see if it will work. Hey, the thing is probably hundreds of years old.
Getting close to it, I heard a small clang which indicated that it was attached to the tracks and with a push of my leg (that was on the floor), the thing started to spin around as soon as I brought my leg on the top. The device spun around, causing me to slightly be dizzy and also it was hard for me to be able to spot where I was going.
I got out of the battle area only to emerge to what it looked like the "upper" floor. Taking out my device, the object rammed itself against the tracks and did its purpose.
I then saw that I had to get across the quicksand so I was stuck on how to jump until Midna suggested to wait for a right time and then jump; I did just that. Once again, I emerged to another new room; it looked more of a zig zag to me. I drew in a breath when I saw the big spikey rotating objet and I knew that if I didn't time it right, it would hit me.
So timing it right, I quickly urged the device to go faster and just in time, I avoided it though I ducked since I thought it had hit me. The Goddess statue came into the view, instantly making me to think that maybe it was the Goddess of Sand.
Railway after railway, blade trap after blade trap, I made it to the other side of the room and went inside the entrance to be in at a new part in which contained a huge chest.
It was of course the big key and after obtaining it, I quickly went on the railway to get myself to the other side which leads me to the big chamber with the holes that were on the ground.
Using the spinning device, I put it on the hole and began to spin it around as if that will trigger something which it did. It was the door that got open, revealing a room with sand, platforms, railways and a great big platform that was in the middle of the room.
Once again, I used the device to get myself at the platform and then put it in the hole to trigger two lit torches followed by a long railway. I stared at the Boss door that was locked as my heart hammered.
What if I die? How do the boss look like?
"Link," Midna's soft voice spoke. "I just want you to know that I'll be always with you."
I cracked a smile at her. "Thanks Midna." I whispered. "I can't believe that I will be done this forsaken dungeon. I just want to get out of here."
She smirked. "Then what are you waiting for?"
I gave a chuckle and then opened the door…
That could possibly lead me to my death…
