Author's Note: *sighs* let's just say I've watched Frozen…again…yeah, you can now find it on Google. I use Megashare. Thanks to dorianmidona1 for reviewing and following the story. Thanks to HPC for favoring OoT and Wind Waker. Also there was a special (I consider it special) request (it was PMing) and an author asked if I could do a novelization of Skyward Sword manga. So, of course I will! It will come out soon…
dorianmidona1: I know what you mean. It really sucks when people do that…but don't worry! When I stick to a story, I will stick to the end and finish it!
Chapter 27: Restless Nights
According to Renado, I was knocked out for at least four days. It wasn't until that I started to regain conscious at the middle of the fourth day.
Guess Arbiter's Grounds really took a toll on me. Go figure.
"I can get out of bed right?" I asked Renado, one morning.
"No."
"But I'm fine! I can walk. I'm not injured and I'm dandy." I widen my smile so much that my cheeks hurt.
"No."
I gave an aggravated groan. "Why? Name one reason why I can't get out of bed!"
"You are still healing and you look like you hadn't slept in days."
"But it's so boring. Just sitting here and doing nothing." I whined.
"It is not my fault that you were being reckless."
Ouch.
"And stupid." a voice mumbled.
I glared at the shadow. Oh yeah: double ouch.
"How about just a tiny bit?"
"No."
"Teensy tiny bit?"
"No."
"Pretty please with a cherry top?"
Renado stopped what he was doing and gave me a hard stare which made me to shrink back from the powerful stare. He may have won this round but he better watch out, I'm gonna come out and get him!
With a huff, I slumped back until I had a urge to go to the bathroom. No, I really need to go to the bathroom.
…
Like I really do.
"Can I just go to the bathroom instead?"
"No because you are going to sneak out."
"And where can I sneak out? There's no hole in the bathrooms."
But the silent response from him had given me an idea…
"But I really need to go." I whined.
The shaman threw me annoyed look before he finally let me go though he told me to come straight back so I can be fully healed and all those non sense.
"Pfft! Like I would do that! I wouldn't escape…" I muttered once I was in the bathroom.
Suddenly, an idea popped into my mind which made me to grin devious.
"Midna, transform me into a wolf."
"You're gonna escape, aren't you?"
I went mute. "Sometimes I think you were a bad influence on me."
She smirked before turning me into a wolf though she had to hide herself.
A clatter was made, making Ilia to stop what she was doing. She paused for a bit to see if she can listen the sound again. She jerked up when the girl heard the sound yet again so she got out of the kitchen while having a frying pan in her hands.
The clatter seemed to be coming from the bathroom…slowly but surely, she walked towards the bathroom door with her frying pan raising up. She then had her back being pressed against the wall that was beside the door.
With the frying pan on the other hand, she moved her free hand towards the doorknob that seemed to be rattling. Any more force, the door knob would be fallen out of place.
Suddenly, the doorknob stopped rattling just like that so Ilia withdrew her hand back and was now holding the pan with her two hands. She watched ever so cautiously when the doorknob started to turn and with the right timing, there was a loud clanging and a hard thud.
"Hyah! Take that, you fiend!" with a swoosh of the pan, the pan collided into something which made the object to fall on the ground with a hard thud.
Ilia froze, watching the object falling down to the ground. Once she removed the pan, she gasped knowing what she had done.
"Link!" she exclaimed even though I was out cold at this point.
Footsteps came followed by a figure which so happened to be Renado.
"What in the Goddesses?" Renado asked with a raised eyebrow.
Ilia looked at Renado then at the unconscious me then at the pan.
"I…um…I…uh…" she stuttered while hiding the pan behind her back. "Um…I gotta go!" she bolted back into the kitchen.
Renado sighed before picking me up and placed me on the bed…yet again.
I groaned, pushing myself up as my cool palm touched my aching forehead.
What in Din's name happened? My head hurts so badly. Come to think of it, why does my head hurts?
"I see you are awake, Link."
I grumbled when Renado placed a tray next to my nightstand. The tray contained porridge, bread and a drink.
"Link, thank the Goddesses that you're still alive!" a voice exclaimed while flinging the door open which startled me.
It showed Ilia with a worried face so she came up to me, sitting on my bed next to me.
"Are you alright? How do you feel? You're not gonna die are you?" she bombarded me with questions. She then placed her cool hand on my slightly warm wrist while placing her other cool hand on my forehead. "Hmm…your temperature seem normal."
I stared at her as if she was from outer space before answering her questions in order.
"Yes. Just fine. And no."
She breathed out a sigh of relief. "Oh that's good."
"But I have a massive headache." I muttered.
"Oh."
An awkward pause.
"Well um…here eat!" she practically shoved the food right into my face. I grimaced when I felt the hot liquid splashing onto my face and yes, also right into my eyes which of course made me to exclaim.
"Owww! Hot! Hot! I need a cloth!" I panicked, not daring to open my eyes.
Ilia gasped. "I'm sorry." she squeaked. This time, she placed the tray back on the nightstand before getting up though only to trip on the bed covers that was dangling at the edge of the bed.
"Wh-woah!" she exclaimed, her foot being twisted on the cover before she landed on the ground with a thud.
"Ilia?" I asked, my eyes still shut tight.
"I'm fine! Just stay there. Don't move. Keep your eyes shut tight."
With that, she sprinted to the kitchen to grab a cloth. She returned so she pressed the cloth on my face which I graciously took it.
You had no idea how good that felt…
Hours ticked by while my boredom was increasing at a fast pace and I couldn't tell you just how happy I was when Renado had finally told me that I could go out! Like really, you had no idea just how happy I am!
Cheers, people!
After spotting Talo who was on the lookout for any monsters along with the help of a Goron, he pleaded me if I can show him with the bow and arrows. Obviously, I said yes…hey, I haven't showed off in a while…
Being beside Malo's shop, he told me to fire some targets which he had placed although he had said, he had never seen me using the bow and arrows before so I probably couldn't hit it…
Ouch.
After hitting all of the targets dead on, it shocked Malo.
"Huh, so you can use them." he mumbled quietly.
"HEY! UP HERE LINK! Try hitting the pole!" Talo shouted down below. I glanced at the pole to where Talo was pointing.
Huh; it's kind of effiy but it's worth a shot.
Placing the arrow, I carefully aimed at the pole. When I thought I had the right aim, I released it. The arrow zoomed high towards the pole and then-
"WOAH! YEAH! YEAH! You hit it Link! You're amazing!" Talo screamed with excitement.
Pfft; of course I am!
"You're welcome!" I shouted back. After purchasing some red potion from Malo, I took a deep breath and just…stood there thinking of what to do next. i then realized that I haven't rode Epona for a long time. Making on that decision, I summoned her by using the horsegrass and just took a ride throughout Hyrule until I decided it was enough and returned her to Kakariko Village. It was still a bit sunny but I can tell that it was going set down soon.
I told Midna to wrap me to Zora's Domain to check on them and maybe to just relax on their hot spring. Running out of the water, I found a spot to hide from them so I can transform back into the human form.
I talked to the Zoras but most of them said how there was a beast that kept roaming here. Strange.
One of the Zoras mentioned how there was a boulder at the bottom of the spring and she was curious how it got there. Putting on my Zora tunic (when I had got out of the water), I started to swim down and it slightly got colder as I went further down.
I reached the boulder and took out my boots so I can walk on the grounds. Thinking, I placed the water bomb beside the boulder, moving out of the way so I won't get struck by it. A while later, the boulder blew up only to reveal a…Goron?
What?
That can't be right…
The Goron explained that it must've been the lava or something that carried him over here and put him in a boulder. Nevertheless, he also said that the spring was nice but the Death Mountain spring was better. He suppose he can "chill" here as he had put the spring as Cold spring or something like that. In return, he gave me a bomb bag.
Sweet.
Swimming up to the top of the surface, the Zora (the one who had been curious about the boulder) was dumbfounded; saying how did a Goron got here.
Looking ahead, a pain was built into my chest as I noticed the golden barrier was still in the view. That automatically reminded me about Zelda and Midna…how Midna almost died.
Shaking the saddened thoughts out of my head, I started to see the sky was turning into twilight and was slowly being turned into night.
Confirming to Midna that I wanted to go back to Kakariko Village, we had arrived or rather warped. Entering towards the Inn, I ate the dinner and washed my dishes. I finally found my way towards bed and…
Sleep consumed me.
Author's Note: So yeah, nothing much happened in this chapter since Link was taking a break from his journey. Hey, every hero needs a break. And yes, there is actually a GORON in Zora Domain's from that boulder. I'm not sure if he gives you a bomb bag but I think he does. And also, Talo DOES tells Link to show him how to use the bow and arrows. But Talo only tells Link if Link goes up to the "lookout post" where Talo is looking for any monsters. But it's worth going on the top; the view is beautiful! And I am seriously excited for the next chapter! *giggles*
