A/N: Well there's nothing to say other than, I had fun writing this chapter! Hehe…
Chapter 32: Enjoy the Game
Ashei blinked as she tried to make her vision clearer. When it did, she was able to make out the spot in which she was staring at. A ceiling. The girl frowned since she didn't remember being moved to a different place. Ashei winced when the flashbacks from before flashed into her mind as if it was forcing her to remember it.
She remembers Yeta being all nice but then, she suddenly transformed into a crazy psychopath which in return, Ashei got knocked out. That's all she ever remembers really. Ashei didn't know how she was in a different room when her eyes wandered around the place.
"How are you?"
Her eyes quickly darted to the figure that sat next to her on the bed. Figuring it out that it was me, she turned her gaze in a different direction.
I sighed. "Ashei, please." I begged. "I'm sorry for yelling at you but I…really didn't want you to get hurt again. It pains me to see my friend being injured or ignoring me…please, Ashei."
A silent pause.
I waited for a few minutes though when there was no sound, I sighed again and started to get out of bed until a hand wrapped around my wrist as if it was preventing me to walk out.
I turned around and saw Ashei who was giving me a faint smile.
"I forgive you." she whispered then frowned. "Just don't do that again. The next time you do, I won't forgive you."
I cracked a smile then went to sit back down on the same spot.
"So…? How are you holding up?" I asked.
She shrugged. "A little stiff and sore but I feel like I can fight again."
I smirked. "Woah there, Ms. Feisty pants. Telma knew you would say that so she told me to tell you that you need to rest for at least three days. That way, you can be fully healed and ready to go."
Ashei groaned. "It's not fair! You're injured too!" she gestured to the broken shoulder even though it was now in a sling. Well, my arm was in a sling because the shoulder is connected to the arm and um…yea…I also had my torso wrapped up but the white bandages were covered by my tunic.
"I know but I'm healing." I replied. "Unfortunately, I can't do anything…So, almost like you, I can do things that doesn't involve with my shoulder. You, however, have to rest since you got wounded in your abdomen."
She frowned. "Whatever." she mumbled.
I chuckled. "Relax. Just two more days."
She scoffed.
Shaking my head with amusement, I got out of the bedroom and went down the stairs to where I got greeted with the group.
"Link!" I looked to see Shad who was walking towards me. "Tell me, how is Ashei? Is she doing good?"
I smiled. "She's doing good though she's just bored and stubborn."
Shad chuckled. "Of course. But how about you?"
"A little broken at the moment but I'm fine." I replied. "Now, if you don't mind. I would like to see where I should go next."
"Hold it."
I halted in my tracks and whirled around to see Telma who had her hands on her hip.
"You aren't going anywhere, Mister. You are here to stay so that you can be healed completely."
I groaned. "But—"
"No buts! While you are here, you are under my care. While you are under my care, you have no choice but to listen to my orders." she then closed the door, locking it.
I tore my gaze away as I was suddenly walking backwards until my back was pressed against the wall. Telma was leaning towards me and I just now figured that the group was no longer here.
"Is that clear?"
"Yes." I muttered.
She then smiled. "Good." she replied as she ruffled my hair.
Scowling, I fixed my hair until Telma told me to go upstairs and rest.
Ashei smirked when she saw me as she laughed. "So what happened? Did Telma force you to rest as well?" she laughed.
I scowled. "Shut up, Ashei." I replied before throwing a pillow with my good arm. The pillow smacked at her face, causing me to chuckle.
"Hey!" she laughed before holding the pillow as a hostage. "Thanks for the extra pillow!"
"Yeah, whatever." I grumbled.
After the agonizingly three days had passed, we were finally free. I can't tell you just how happy I am. No more sitting in the bed for twenty four hours straight. No more having my butt being stiff and sore
Finally!
I can walk!
So that is why I found myself in the Main Square of Castle Town where it was filled with people and music as well as having the bright blue cloudless sky looming over us.
Just the way I like it.
"Woah. Hey, I'm sorry." I replied after I bumped into a person since I didn't paid attention to where I was going.
Well, what can I say? I hadn't been out here for a very long time…other than having to go to Telma's Bar to keep on finding out about my next clue but yeah…
I then arrived at a place that looked like a tent but I read the sign which read: STAR Game. Unaware to me, the three girls that were standing a few centimeters away from the tent started to giggle when they watched me as I went in.
They followed in and took their place which was standing in front of the huge cage. I eyed the sudden dark place except for the bright glow that was in another place. Just like that, lights came in shining on the guy who seemed to be the owner of the place.
"Greetings and salutations, good sir! Welcome to the kingdom of hopes and fondest dreams!" the owner of the tent announced.
…That was dramatic…
"Um hi?" I said, unsurely.
He smiled, cheerfully. "Hello to you too! In this place you can taste the life of a circus star AND get your hands on gear that boggles minds! It is our EARNEST hope that you find delight playing the STAR game! The rules are exceedingly simple! So all you must endeavor to do is track down all the glowing orbs and collect them all before time runs out!" he then said the next sentence in a quiet, snickering-like voice. "Heh…Rather outstanding name, I must say."
I gave him an odd look.
"Step right up! Shyness, BEGONE! It's only ten Rupees! Who's up to the challenge?!" he exclaimed in a loud voice.
I smirked. "Sure. I dare to try it."
He laughed, whole-heartedly. "Many thanks, good sir! The game will begin once you enter the cage! May chance favor you! Heh heh heh." he spoke the next sentence quietly.
"Good sir, are you at the ready?! Then away we GO!"
I shook my head as my eyes filled with amusement and I paid him. I then entered the cage and the door was closed. I walked to the middle of the room and waited for the signal.
Once the signal went out, I took out my clawshot and grabbed a random spot in which I quickly grabbed a glowing orb. They looked like Rupees…
When I shot in the other direction, there were many of the glowing orbs so I collected them until I reached the other side. As I did that, I heard loud squeals so I looked diagonally down to see that there were three girls.
Hmm…looks like I got a crowd to impress.
Eyeing another trail of orbs, I went towards that one. I started to hurry a bit when I heard the timer going off, indicating that I was going to run out of time soon. When I spotted the last one, I panicked and quickly shot myself towards the direction just as when the whistle blew, signaling that it was the end.
I breathed out a sigh of relief as I had collected every single orb. I lowered myself until I reached the ground and went out of the cage and walked to the owner.
"Im…Impossible…" he mumbled yet I could still hear him.
He doesn't like me that much, does he?
"Er…Oh, what a happy day this is! The debut of a new star! Showers of applause all around!"
I smirked when he was covering up the mumble by having an excited voice…a false one that is.
"To the star…I shall give THIS!" he turned around and grabbed the item so that he could hand it to me.
I stared at the prize. It was a bigger quiver than mine, allowing me to have more arrows. I grinned at the prize.
Sweet.
"…Very well! The next stage will be one created just for YOU, good sir! I would expire should you decline! Please, you must try it when it is ready! Pbbbth! I shall remember this…" he mumbled, quietly.
I laughed at that as I exited out of the tent. I gave out a startle jump when loud squeals were heard. I looked to see the three girls who were staring at me as if I was fascinating.
"Uh, hi?" I replied, cautiously.
"EEEEEEK! IT'S HIM!" they squealed, excitedly.
"Right…" I responded before taking a step back and then I tricked them right after I did a somersault. I looked back to see the girls following me.
"Argh!" I exclaimed, running faster than before.
"WAIT UP!" they shouted, cheerfully.
I could tell that Midna was laughing because her shadow—or my shadow—twitched.
"Shut up, Midna!" I hissed while occasionally glancing back to see the girls who were still following me.
Damn, they run fast. I was then at a road that was split into two parts. One of them was probably the South and the North so I chose the South. I realized that I ended up going around in circles since I was now back to the STAR game.
Great.
Seeing grasses that were beside the tent, I quickly headed for the grass and hid. Luckily, the grasses were able to actually cover my face but not my body unless if I laid still so that I could blend in because my tunic was green…
"Where is he?" one of the girls said as I drew in a sharp breath.
They were close to me…
Oh by the Goddesses, please don't let them see me…
"I don't know. Um…"
I felt something licking my cheek so I turned my head around slowly only to find that a cute little dog was standing beside me.
"Hey puppy." I scratched at the back of the ear. I then eyed the three girls who didn't move and then I eyed back at the dog.
I grinned as I had a plan. "You don't mind by doing me a favor, do you?"
The dog licked me again, causing me to quietly laugh. After somehow telling the dog what my plan is, the dog rushed out to greet the girls.
"Aw, look at the little puppy!" they squealed.
Hehehe…
When they were distracted, I slowly started to slither through the grass while sometimes, glancing back at the girls.
"Wait…" one of them said. "I thought I saw something moving in the grass."
I cursed mentally and paused as they stared at the grass. The dog then woofed, making them to pull their gazes away and bring the attention to the dog. I breathed out a sigh of relief when it was clear to go.
I'd have to reward the dog…
At last, I quickly did a somersault and got out of sight.
I didn't stop running until I was safe. I would know if I'm safe when I reach Telma's bar.
"Hey, it's Li—"
The door slammed shut and I locked it then breathed out a sigh before sliding down.
"Hi…" I cracked a smile, causing everyone to stare at me with dumb-founded expressions.
"Had fun?" Ashei asked with an amused look.
I scowled before stomping off to go upstairs. "I'm going to sleep and never wake up. Don't let anyone wake me up!" I yelled before slamming the door.
The group gave blank stares.
"I swear: that kid keeps on getting weirder and weirder…" Ashei mumbled then they went silent after the agreement since they heard a muffle scream.
"He had too much fun, yes?" Shad asked, fixing his glasses.
The others sighed and groaned with defeat.
A/N: And cut! Everyone take a fifteen minute break and then, move to your new positions for the next chapter!
*Everyone scurries here and there*
Link: *mumbles* who made her the boss?
Me: I heard that! Now, go unless you want me to unleash the fangirls!
Link: Ha! I'm not scared of them!
Me; *raises an eyebrow* oh really? Oh girls! *the three girls from the STAR game appears*
Them: Yes?
Me: *smirks* I just thought you wanted to see your beloved star.
The girls: *gasp* OH MY GODDESSES! IT'S HIM! EEEEEEKKKK! *starts to chase*
Link: *groans* aw come on! *runs away*
Me: hehehe…Oh! R&R!
