A/N: Welcome to the continuation of our protagonist Charlie's adventure. Lots have happened, some changes have occurred, and Ash and Misty will be making appearances but this story will revolve around our new heroes more so. Please read I Want To Be The Very Best if you haven't otherwise some things will not make sense.
Charlie dressed in a black hoodie, red joggers, and a pair of sneakers was looking over the edge of the ship he was traveling on to Littleroot Town. Sighing he kept wondering if he was doing the right thing by starting up his journey again. He decided to leave some of his Pokemon with Professor Oak. Pulling out his phone he looked over at a memory it was showing him in his photos, it was a picture from Ash and Misty's wedding. Charlie was on the left dressed up for the occasion making a goofy smile with his arm around Skye who was wearing her bridesmaid dress for her parent's wedding. The last person who also had his arm around Skye was August with his long flowing black hair giving a genuine smile and flashing a peace sign with his free hand. Charlie chuckled thinking back on that day, he met a lot of interesting characters and people. He also remembered up until Jigglypuff sang its lullaby and put the entire party to sleep except apparently Ash and Misty who ran when they noticed it. Now it has been a little over 6 years since that event. He and August spoke at least once a week. He and Skye always enjoyed chatting whenever they got the chance, but it had happened much more infrequently over time.
When the ship came into port, he disembarked and began to head to Professor Birch's lab. The walk was very serene, almost like he needed the walk before beginning to try and qualify for the Hoenn league. He began to remember a conversation he had with August over the phone before he set out.
"This isn't the way to deal with a breakup," August told him like the big brother he never had.
"What do you care, last time you had a relationship break up you didn't talk to me for 3 weeks." Charlie bit back continuing to pack as he took the call on his earbud.
"That's not the point. This isn't about me Charlie, look I know it's bad to feel used–"
"August she fucking cheated on me with some fit beach guy, in my mother fucking bed," Charlie yelled.
"Ok, well making a rash decision in anger isn't the answer, just come stay with me for a few days," August said, trying to sound more empathetic.
"It's not rash, I have been wanting to get back into training and…" Charlie hesitated, "I said I was going to do this after the wedding and it's been 6 years."
"Yeah, look I know you never got past the top 8 in a tournament league…that's still incredible," August said.
"I can do better and I will do better, nothing you say August is going to stop me," Charlie said.
August sighed, "Then let me know if you need help or someone to talk to, or if you come across some mythical Pokemon."
Smiling Charlie said, "Will do, let me know if you need me to return to Orre."
It still hurt as he kept walking alone in his thoughts. Although he didn't want to, he found himself thinking about Alyse, the blue-eyed blonde girl who Charlie had met while she was vacationing in Alola. After a week they were dating and had been together for a little over a year now. Until a few days ago when he had caught her cheating on him.
His thoughts were interrupted by a burly brown bearded man who yelled, "You must be the Charlie, Professor Oak has told me about."
"You must be Professor Birch," Charlie answered back with a smile.
"Well, I hear you plan on entering the Hoenn league, though I must admit you are a bit older than some of the other trainers I meet." Professor Birch said.
"Yeah, I meant to come here years ago," Charlie said following Birch into his lab.
"What stopped you? If you don't mind me asking." Birch said.
"I got preoccupied helping those in need get houses," Charlie said.
"Well, that is quite a worthy cause, Charlie," Birch said, honestly quite astounded. Going through the lab he noticed similarities between it and Professor Oak's lab. Just not quite as many Pokemon, and different starters hung on the wall. "I hope you do not mind. I do not have any starters left except for this." Birch opened up a Pokeball revealing a rather shy Treako. Charlie got down on his knees as it ran behind Birch's leg hiding. Charlie held out his hand with a smile, Treako looked at him and saw a Pokemon treat in his hand. Taking it tentatively it began to eat before it smiled at Charlie and ate the treat voraciously. With that, it came up and hopped onto Charlie's shoulder.
"Well you seem to be able to charm even the shyest of Pokemon, you are as good as Ash said," Birch stated impressed.
This comment shocked Charlie as he looked up meeting Birch's eye asking, "Ash said positive things?"
"Oh yes, he said he worked with you on Mt. Silver, he gave me a call when he found out you were coming here," Birch said jovially.
Charlie smiled, "I really should be sure to thank him for not overselling my skills then." Both he and Birch laughed before he left with Treako and began on his journey to Oldale Town. During his walk which he preferred because it gave him more than enough time to think these days. Before reaching Oldale, he found the ruins and decided to stop by them. Resting against one of the stones he thought back to that night.
Alyse with her long blonde hair, and blue eyes, in a pale blue crop top with her jeans and basketball sneakers very similar to ones Charlie wore when he was younger traveling with Skye and August. They had been dating for the past month, Alyse extended her stay on Akala once she realized she wanted to stay in a relationship with Charlie. She kept her place out of respect for Mary, Charlie's mom. Charlie was finishing up work on a townhouse to house two large families. She kept eyeing him as he locked up the last bit of equipment.
"Are you almost done with it?" Alyse asked.
"Not quite, but it is almost finished. I hope it will make the future tenants happy and be able to have a good place to live and raise their families." Charlie said with a smile.
"Any chance I can see how it looks?" Alyse asked with a flirty look.
"Of course," Charlie said letting her in, the floors were finished and the cabinetry was untouched. The countertops were marbled to be nice and smooth. Alyse was running her hands over the craftsmanship. "It feels smooth, you and your Pokemon do fabulous work." Alyse eyed him while biting her lip.
"Thanks for the compliment, I will be sure to let them know," Charlie said smiling. Alyse then turned her back to the countertop and hopped up sitting on the edge.
"How do you feel about making out in the homes you built?" Alyse asked.
"Never had the chance to…" Charlie said noting her flirty attitude, due to her petite height her head was barely taller than Charlie sitting on the counter. Charlie took the hint and coming between Alyse's legs his lips met hers. His hands snaked over her waist and exposed stomach causing a slight gasp to escape Alyse's lips. She wrapped her legs around Charlie keeping him close to her and the counter. Charlie began to kiss behind her ear causing Alyse to pant. "Charlie, I want you." She said, causing Charlie to meet her eyes.
"I am sorry Alyse, I don't have–"
"These?" Alyse pulled from her pocket a small handful of condoms. Charlie smiled, kissing her and picking her up off the counter. Carrying her to the living room, laying her on her back he pulled off his shirt. Alyse peeled off her crop top revealing a black lace bra. Charlie ran his hands over the material pushing it up off her full breasts that spilled out when he massaged them. Leaning down he began to suck on one of her nipples causing Alyse to fumble with the button on his pants. Charlie stopped sucking to focus on getting his pants off while Alyse did the same with her pants. Seeing her black thong only made his heart race and he was about to do this for the first time. Nervously pulling down his boxers his already hard cock stood at attention, Alyse blushed slightly but smiled ripping the condom wrapper off. She took it and placed it over the head of Charlie's cock before using her mouth to roll it down the length before stroking it the rest of the way. Laying back Alyse with her blue eyes stared right back at Charlie's brown eyes, pulling her thong off, and spreading her legs on her back she said, "Charlie I am so wet for you."
Charlie leaned down as Alyse grabbed the head of his cock guiding it. Then using her leg she pulled him in by wrapping it around his hip causing Charlie to moan as he slowly inched inside of Alyse. Alyse moaned as he fully was inside of her. Charlie kissed Alyse as he began to rock his hips against hers. Both kept moaning as they began to find a rhythm. Alyse broke from the kiss because she wanted to scream out as Charlie was about to cum. Charlie collapsed on top of Alyse; they kissed tenderly, making them both smile. She ran her hand through his black hair, "Charlie, was that your first time?"
"Was it really that obvious?" Charlie said blushing, rolling off Alyse to throw away the condom.
"You looked a little nervous," Alyse said with a smile.
Charlie then woke from the memory of Alyse hearing a ruckus near the ruins. A dark blue-haired man in lab clothes with olive green eyes was approaching. Charlie saw the man pull out a phone and was taking a call with a smug look. Charlie kept out of sight, but tried to observe all he could, when he peeked his head around he saw just a bit of the man's profile. If he didn't know any better he would guess the man was about Jessie and James' age. "This place seems like a dead end sir, I just emerged from the cavern beneath and all it held was Relicanth, a very unique but not powerful Pokemon." The man said.
Charlie then thought he heard some shouting but he couldn't make out what the other person was saying to this man. "I will make my way there and report back what I can find out, what about the former Monarch and his family?" Charlie's ears picked up.
"Queen Sara will not be able to stop me from getting in." The man responded to his phone. With that Charlie just got a good enough pic to catch some of the man's profile. When the man left he began to try to see if he could figure out who Queen Sara was. When Charlie saw it was the Queen of the Mirage Kingdom and saw where it was located. Charlie began to find the fastest ways to get there and saw a blimp was leaving Petalburg the next morning. Charlie just began to hustle as fast as he could towards Petalburg hoping he could make it there in time.
Over in Cerulean City, an orange hair viridian-eyed woman was on a date with her boyfriend. "Jaxson I will only be gone for a couple of days, besides you said you needed to leave for a few days," Skye said, holding Jaxson's hand from across the table. Her outfit today was light blue yoga leggings, with a yellow hoodie crop top. The olive-skinned brown-haired straight back short-styled man stared back at Skye. His eyes were brown, almost black, Jaxson smiled, squeezing her hand back. He wore a sherpa-lined green flannel shirt with a gray t-shirt and jeans with sneakers.
"I guess you're right," Jaxson said.
"Besides, it's probably going to be relatively boring compared to life here in Cerulean." Skye mused.
Their waiter brought them their food and Jaxson smiled as he saw Skye devour her food as if it would get up and walk from the table. "I am sorry if other guys have asked you this…but does your dad eat like that as well?" Jaxson asked a bit sheepishly.
"Here I was thinking you were going to ask me something more important, you ask me that." Skye laughed looking away and smiling before answering, "Yes, he does, I think everyone is more confused. He doesn't have a heart condition as he gets older." The young couple laughed at the joke.
Just as they were walking back to the gym after their date Jaxson said, "I still can't believe you agreed to that date last year."
"Hey, I was pretty sure there was no way Jaxson you would be able to jump and grab that apple from the tree," Skye said, remembering his way of asking her out.
As they made it to the door, Jaxson put Skye against the wall and kissed her hard. Skye began to meet his passion back while his hands wandered up and down her hips and ribs. Skye gasped slightly when Jaxson's hand grazed the side of her breast. Jaxson used his tongue to battle Skye's before stopping leaning his head against Skye's. "Goodnight Skye," Jaxson said out of breath.
"Goodnight," Skye said rather flushed. Heading inside the door she leaned against the wall and sighed before looking up and seeing, standing right there was her father. His arms crossed looking at her like she did something wrong, his hair a bit ruffled while he wore a t-shirt and cargo shorts.
"I know you are a grown-up woman Skye, but can you at least not do your make-outs in a security camera spot that gets picked up?" Ash asked, a bit exasperated.
"You heard?" Skye asked embarrassed.
Another voice cut the air, "Thankfully he muted the camera before it got too heated Skye." An orange-haired woman dressed in some old short gym shorts and a yellow tank top came down the steps.
"Mom, did you both watch?" Skye now thought her life was over.
"No," Ash said though he looked sick.
Misty came up and put her hand on his back and rubbed it with her hand in circles. Misty then smiled at her daughter and empathized with her red face. It reminded her of the times she must have looked when anyone suggested she had a thing for Ash. "How bout next time just be in a place where it won't be all over the gym's cameras?" Misty advised.
"But–" Ash started.
"Just like you said Ash, she is a grown-up woman." Misty interrupted. "Now let us all get to bed before traveling tomorrow."
Ash kind of huffed but relaxed and followed Misty back to their room before he smiled at Skye. Skye was just thankful her mom ended that awkward conversation. In some ways, she wished Jaxson could come to the Mirage Kingdom. This was one of those places she didn't understand why but her mother was adamant about her attending. Skye thought back to the fight she had before Ash came and found her sitting in the battle arena a week ago.. "Look I get what you want to do as you want as an adult, but this place is important to not just your mom but me as well." Ash said with a tone of empathy.
"Trying to guilt me, dad?" Skye retorted.
"No, I think just after this adventure with your family you will understand," Ash said calmly.
"You know it would be so much easier if mom didn't get so heated," Skye said, looking out over the arena.
Ash smirked and chuckled, "Maybe, but I seem to recall some other girl being just as stubborn."
Skye had that angry smile, "You're not that calm when you have strong feelings."
Ash again just laughed, "Also true, but with your mom, it is better to…"
Skye hated when he left her hanging because she couldn't help but answer, "Apologize because she is usually right."
"I know it doesn't happen often but your mother does apologize when she realizes her own mistakes," Ash said as they headed toward the kitchen to look for Misty.
Skye looked around the gym seeing all the Pokemon sleeping. Before heading to her room she slowly opened a door. Finding a stuffed plush toy of Pikachu and Charmander on the ground she noticed a small boy had an arm around both of them out asleep on the ground. His jet-black hair was a mess in his little Froakie pajamas and little Kieran was 5 years old. Picking up her little brother off the ground, Kieran put his sister into a death grip as she put him into his bed. His eyes still closed she tucked him in and kissed his forehead. Closing the door she spun around almost walking into her mother.
"Mom, when did you–"
"The baby monitor," Misty answered, hugging her firstborn. "And thank you for re-tucking him in."
"He just won't stay in bed, he prefers the ground," Skye said like it was the dumbest idea ever.
"Don't read too much into it hun, you were very similar at that age," Misty said. "Well, cept you wanted me to sleep with you on the ground being on a Pokemon adventure."
Skye laughed, "Guess you're right as usual."
"Who said I am not right all the time?" Misty inquired.
"No one, just dad said you were," Skye answered.
Misty smiled then said, "Now I know I said you are a grown-up woman, but do you have…"
"Mom, we have been over this many times now," Skye said, a bit irritated.
"Just being sure besides Jaxson is kind of cute," Misty said suggestively.
"Mom, gross maybe I should break up with him and warn dad." Skye joked half seriously, half joking.
"No need to worry hun, your father keeps me more than satisfied," Misty said, as Skye plugged her ears looking like she was going to throw up.
"Why do you keep telling me this?" Skye asked.
"Birth control, and because I remember some teenager wanting her parents to get together," Misty said, teasing her daughter as she kissed her forehead as they reached Skye's bedroom door. Skye went in thankful to be in her own space, and though she hadn't paid it any attention she saw on her dresser that photo. The one with August and Charlie from her parents' wedding not long before Jigglypuff put them all to sleep. Looking out her window she wondered what they both were doing at this moment.
