Ok so, because I felt bad about not updating for so long, I used my temporarily-un-writers-blocked-mind to smash this one out for you guys.
Just a little insight into Alexis as a soldier. And I only just noticed as I was writing this that I haven't shown her with the rest of Mustang's team. So here they are!
A lot of this is about Ed's mistrust towards her and Al's trust. Both of which waver slightly at different times here.
Hope you enjoy!
Also I just noticed in the last chapter that my thanks to reviewers was chopped a little.
So thanks again to Ed' .Kitten and BTRHenderson31!

Chapter seven
Suspicions
Ed and Al went, begrudgingly to the back carriages to dispose of the other hijackers.
"Brother, do you think Alexis is going to be ok on her own?" Al asked, glancing over his shoulder just as the door opposite them closed.
"She'll be fine, Al. As she said, she's used to it." Said brother replied, peeking through the crack of the door to scope out the enemy.
"But she got shot!" Al fretted. Because of me...
Ed gave him a strange look.
"When did you get so concerned about her? and that reminds me, when did you two get so friendly?" He asked.
Ed opened the door and motioned Al to go in front. The guy in the carriage turned to face then and started yelling something before shooting.
Neither of the Elrics minded him as Al's armor deflected the bullets, Ed creating a wall to protect the passengers.
"We-We aren't that friendly brother, she's just nice" Al told him, tying the terrified-looking man, who had ended up running out of bullets.
"Oh really Al? What was that moment before with the dress-ups?"
"Th-that was Alexis just showing me her disguises. She told me she usually does undercover work"
They walked into another carriage, doing much the same thing as in the last one.
"Well, whatever you guys were doing seemed very suspicious to me"
"You joined in..." Alphonse argued back.
"...Only because we have to work with her. I'm putting up with her, doesn't mean I'll be her friend" Ed shot back, crossing his arms.
"That's not very nice brother, I think she just needs some friends her age. She probably only talks to Colonel Mustang and his team, right?"
Ed let out a sigh.
"Al, you're too soft-hearted, what if she turned out to be a bad-guy and this nice-thing was just an act? You saw how she was with those hijackers" He said.
"Well, I don't think she'd do that to us..."
They noticed they had gotten to the last carriage and turned around, dragging the tied-up guys with them so they could keep an eye on them. They stopped their conversation.
Half-way back to their carriage, the train started moving again.
"Huh, see Al, told you she'd be fine" the blonde alchemist told him.
Al kept quiet.
When they arrived back to their carriage, they found that it was empty of passengers and only hijackers filled the seats. Alexis stood in the center of the aisle, legs shoulder width apart and her arms crossed.
"Repeat after me: "Putting innocent's lives in danger is a crime and I am scum"
She commanded.
The nervous-looking men did as they were told, sweat dripping down their faces.
Ed looked impressed.
"Man, Mustang, what'd you do?" He said, walking to her.
He received a glare thrown over her shoulder, making him freeze for a second.
It disappeared quickly as she realised who it was.
"Oh! Ed, Al, you're finished? You can just put those guys in the booths there, I'll be with them in a second" She turned back to the rest.
Ed grumbled about being told what to do as Al complied.
"Okay, next! If I see any of you so much as look at anyone the wrong way, I assure you, you won't be using those eyes much longer" She growled, making shivers go up people's spines.
But of course there always has to be one idiot.
Said idiot, having cut his bonds with a switch-blade, charged at the black-haired girl.
"DIE MUSTANG!" He roared.
In a matter of seconds, he was face-first on the ground, Alexis stepping on his back.
"What. Did. I. Just. Say?" She glared down at him.
The guys closest to Alexis whimpered as the guy continued to struggle.
"You bitch! I'll make you and your brother pay! I'll kill you both!"
Something flashed in the girl's eyes.
"Ed, Al. Get out" She said.
"...Alexis?" Al questioned.
"You guys make sure all the passengers are ok." She told them.
Ed frowned, his eyes glaring at her back.
"And what the hell are you going to do?" He asked.
She didn't look at them, afraid they'd see her eyes.
"That's none of your concern, make sure no one is wounded" She ordered.
"As if! None of our concern? You just told everyone you'd blind someone!"
Ed saw the guys in front of Alexis cower away from her.
"Punishment needs to be handed out to those that disobey the law, that is what the military does, Elric. Don't hide under the illusion that people won't get hurt" She growled.
"Brother...Alexis..." Alphonse didn't know what to do, but he didn't want to see someone being hurt.
Suddenly he found himself walking toward Alexis. He grabbed her shoulder and turned her to face him.
Surprise flashed in her features, Al caught a glimpse of silver in her eyes. He assumed it was a trick of the light.
"You've caught him now and stopped him from hurting anyone, isn't that enough? You don't need to hurt him too" He pleaded.
"He threatened my brother, Alphonse. People like him need to know they can't get away with threats like that. If he doesn't learn then he'll try to carry it out. What'll you do if my brother got hurt because I didn't let him know his place? No one threatens my brother" She said, glaring up at him, though with less intensity then before.
The train stopped, making everyone jolt with the motion.
The man under Alexis's foot scurried away from her, making a break for the exit.
A loud bang and the man collapsed, screaming as his leg started bleeding. Alexis was pointing a smoking gun at him.
"You are all under arrest for hijacking and attempted kidnapping. Anything you say can and will be held against you. You have a right to an attorney, if you don't have an attorney, too goddamn bad. By the Amestris military law, you will be imprisoned until a sentence has been passed for you fate" She told them, turning to look at them all.
Ed and Al gaped in horror at the gun in her hand.
Alexis looked to Ed.
"Get used to it, Elric"
Colonel Mustang waited on the platform, his team and some other soldiers with them.
Alexis lead the group of hijackers off the train and walk to her brother, gun still in hand and a cold expression on her face.
Roy winced at the sight.
"You read them their rights?" He asked.
"Yes sir" She saluted, which he returned.
The brothers were the last ones to get off, carrying the wounded hijacker with them.
They eased him to the ground beside his accomplices.
Roy saw the man's leg and the look on Ed's face, which was glaring at Alexis, and instantly connected the dots.
"Major, report" He commanded, looking to his sister.
She told him everything that happened.
Roy kept his face professional as he listened. Riza stood to the side of him, mirroring his look but glancing every now and then to the younger girl's bandaged shoulder.
When she finished, Roy turned his attention to the men tied up in front of him.
"Ok, take them away, put them in a holding cell until their trial" He ordered.
The soldiers around them did as they were told. Mustang's team instead went to Alexis.
"You ok, Missy?" Havoc asked, ruffling her hair "Looks like a nice wound you got there"
"You should go to the hospital Alexis!" Fuery added, looking worried.
"Yeah, don't want your arm to fall off like last time!" Breda chuckled.
Falman gave her a smile.
Alexis relaxed, her formal look fading to a warm smile, then she laughed.
"It didn't fall off last time! It only came close!" She retorted.
"Alexis..."
Said girl turned to Riza, the woman she admired.
Riza looked concerned. "Come on, I'll take you to the hospital" She said.
"Knowing you, you didn't even bother to take the bullet out, right?" Havoc laughed, worry in his eyes.
Ed and Al watched the exchange. Ed was confused.
"What the hell is up with this girl? First she's a scary soldier and now she looks like a kid talking with her best friends!" Ed wondered.
"Isn't that what she is, brother? A kid and a soldier?" Al asked, surprising Ed with his insightfulness.
The shorter of the two sighed, scratching his head.
"I just don't get her" He admitted.
"Chief! You guys coming?" Havoc yelled, waving to them.
Alexis looked back to them, her eyes sad.
"Yeah!" Ed yelled back, striding towards them.
One of the many sides to Alexis showcased.
Everyone like her soldier-side? It was actually intriguing to write.
She doesn't really want to hurt anyone because of her past but she has a very strong sense of justice.
Also, she's protective of her brother, which will be shown quite a lot.
It's not like she has a brother-complex or anything. He's her only family so she'll do anything to protect him.
I think I kept Ed and Al fairly in-character here, which I'm quite proud of :)
Any issues you can see, don't hesitate to tell me. As I said, I bashed this one out in about an hour so it might be a little rough.
Thanks heaps!
