A/N Whoa, this chapter is long. But that's good, right? I think it is. I've missed this story, and I've been waiting to continue it for ages now. Fun fact- I was originally planning to write this in Luffy's P.O.V., but decided that it would be more fun letting the other Straw Hats turn up and tell it in third person instead.

So here's a chapter from Robin's P.O.V., detailing what happened to the rest of the Straw Hats as promised. Remember to enjoy, read and review!

~~~~~'*0 O 0*'~~~~~~~ Chapter Four ~~~~~~~'*0 O 0*'~~~~~
"Maybe someday you'll wake up
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one;
'Isn't something missing?'"
(Missing, Evanescence)
Robin was very vaguely aware of a faint dripping sound not too far away, echoing throughout the presumably large room, judging by the number of echoes. Her eyelids refused to open for the time being, so she tried to listen in on her surroundings first before assessing her situation with her eyes. It was cold, wherever she was, but not unbearably so. Her neck was stiff from lying on her side with her back against a stone wall that had absorbed some of the heat from her body.
The deafening silence crashed about her eardrums, only being interrupted by the constant, almost mesmerising dripping sound. That was not a good thing. That meant that either her crew were not in the (room?) with her or they were still unconscious and were still to awaken to their very curious situation.
Her mouth was dry, her stomach was painfully hollow and her lips were deeply cracked, signifying the lack of water and nutrients that her body received. Her arms were between her back and the wall, seemingly bound together with handcuffs. If the weakness in her limbs was anything to go by, then the metal cuffs were reinforced with sea stone, and lots of it.
A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. Someone knew their stuff.
Slowly, her eyes cracked opened, allowing a slit of dull, painful light seep through her tired lids. Robin hissed at the uncomfortable pain that assaulted her senses when she finally and fully came to, the scent of blood hovering in the air. She blinked, trying to get her vision to stop swimming and stretched her aching muscles so that she could sit up properly and figure out where she was and what was going on.
As she focused on her surroundings, Robin clarified that she was not in a large room like she originally thought; it was actually fairly small, but large enough for her to be able to stretch her legs. It was also dark and, just as she feared, empty, completely devoid of life other than her fine self. There was what looked to be a steel door with black bars streaking across a gap in the body of it at head height, half a metre long and wide. Well, head height if she were standing up, that is, but her legs were still protesting movement.
The raven-haired woman looked down at herself, checking for any injuries that were seeking immediate medical attention. To her pleasant surprise, she was completely bandaged up, with the smell of blood coming from the bandages around her abdomen, shoulder and leg that desperately needed to be changed. They would do for the time being.
Robin slowly and weakly got to her feet, using the wall behind her to push herself up and to keep her balance with, seeing as her arms would be useless in doing that particular task for now. She dragged her weary body to the door, still leaning against the cold stone wall, and peered out into the corridor beyond. There was no electricity wherever she was, and lanterns dotted the grey walls every fifteen metres or so. The feeble light they gave off bounced off other, similar steel doors, showing that she might possibly have some form of company in this place.
"Hey… is there somebody else out there?"
Robin gasped. That voice… it sounded so weak and raw, almost as though the person who had uttered those words hadn't spoke for weeks, but it was instantly recognisable.
"Sniper-kun? Is that you?"
Her own voice cracked, sounding just like the Straw Hat's beloved sniper. She coughed and choked, trying to clear her throat so that she wouldn't stumble on her words again. To her delight, the other person called out, his voice still hoarse but a whole lot happier- at least, to her ears it was.
"Robin!" Ussop cried with joy. "I thought I was alone, because I called out for everyone but no one answered… but now, I know I'm not! Are you okay? Are the others with you? Do you know where we are or how we got here?"
Robin tried to answer the sharpshooter's heartfelt questions with as much honesty and enthusiasm as she could muster, but it was a hard deed, considering her current state. She couldn't remember much at all, only the sounds of a struggle that they had evidently lost and the sheer panic that came with losing both the fight and… and something else, something which she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Yes, I'm fine. My wounds appear to have already been seen to, but not by Dr Chopper. The bandage work is good, but not of his standard at all. Secondly, no, I'm alone. I'm assuming you are too, and that our crew are elsewhere in this place. And that leads me to your last question; no, I unfortunately don't know where we are nor can I remember any details of our voyage to be here, but I think I may be right in concluding that we are imprisoned in a Marine stronghold."
The archaeologist could practically feel the long-nosed man trembling from where she stood, she knew him so well. She could hear his quiet squeals of fear from behind a steel door that was further down on the opposite side of the hallway. Chuckling at his behaviour, Robin leaned against the door, pressing her face to the bars in the little window that looked out onto the corridor. She could see Ussop's trademark nose sticking out between the bars of his own door as he did the same.
They were both startled by a load groan coming from the cell to Robin's immediate right. Ussop quaked in fear, his nose disappearing from view as he tried to hide in his little locked room. Robin held her breath as no sound spilled from the room beside her for several long minutes. Finally, the person – whoever it was – woke up and hissed in pain, just as she did when consciousness came calling. Their footsteps were loud and slow, and their curses quiet and angry as they made their way over to the door of their private prison.
"Oi, anyone out there?" a voice gruffly called out into the vast emptiness of the hall. Robin heard Ussop cry in delight as both he and herself recognised the unmistakable voice of their swordsman piercing through the steel doors and stale air that separated them.
"Zoro! You're awake too!"
"Hm, I guess I am, Ussop. Wait; is there anyone else here besides us?"
"I'm guessing that all of us are here, Swordsman-kun." Robin clarified for him, her voice still unused to speaking. She could hear Zoro adjusting his position so that he could hear her better, having realised that she was in the room beside him and was, indeed, very awake. She continued with her explanation, answering any questions that she knew were going to be asked.
"However, only the three of us are awake and we are alone in each of our cells, so it can only be assumed that the others are nearby. Our current location is unknown, and Sniper-kun and myself are struggling to recall any events leading up to our capture. Perhaps you could help us clear the matter up a little?"
There was complete silence from both Zoro and Ussop as they both tried to grasp any fleeting memories of the moments leading to their capture. Eventually, Zoro grunted as he came up with some results, though none of them were detailed nor were they particularly cheerful.
"We were ambushed by Marines. Not like the others were at Punk Hazard, I remember sensing their presence before they arrived. I haven't foggiest about what happened between then and now, though." Zoro's explanation shed a little light on their current situation, but not much. Robin hummed in approval as flashbacks of the Monster Trio suddenly leaping to their feet and warning the crew to be ready flooded her mind.
"Ah, yes. That's true, but do you-"
Robin was cut off by the sound of another groan coming from the opposite end of the hall. This time, Ussop did not shy away from his door and instead he peeked out curiously at the door from which the complaint originated.
"Hey, who's up now?" Ussop called out, his voice loud and clear and missing most of the hoarseness that had plagued only half an hour beforehand. Whoever had woken up now was obviously struggling to hear the sharpshooter over all the moans of pain they were making, so Zoro called out to the person this time, louder and harsher than Ussop had been.
"Oi, Ero-cook! Wake up, you lazy dartbrow, or I'll use your knives to sharpen my katanas!"
The other person growled in annoyance, which confirmed their identity to be Sanji the cook. He was two doors down from Robin on her left, and was in the cell furthest from Ussop. The noises of effort he made to get up and move to the door were quieter than Zoro's were, but Robin presumed that it was because he was further away.
"What'd you say, Marimo? I couldn't hear you because my ears are too clogged up with indifference to hear you."
"Wait 'til I get outta here, pinwheel. I'll make sure you hear what I say!"
"Oh really? Well then, I guess I'll have to-"
"Both of you, enough," Robin interrupted them, hoping to prevent an argument that would waste any time they had to unravel the mysteries of how they got here and where 'here' even was.
"Hai, Robin-Chwan! I was not aware of your presence, my sweet!" Sanji trilled, happy to find one of his beautiful ladies within his vicinity, even if they were separated by several walls. Zoro merely grunted, agreeing to her command with great reluctance. Across the hall from her cell door, she could hear someone mumbling in their sleep as they stirred awake, squeaking in pain when they realised that they were not safely on the Thousand Sunny.
"Chopper!"
"Oi, emergency meat supply, are you alright?"
The four heard a small groan from the cell, before the small reindeer made other sounds that informed them that he was getting to his feet, albeit with great difficulty. He made a small, thudding sound as he stumbled, but he quickly got to his feet and leaned against the creaky, steel door.
"Yeah, I'm good. Injured, but well-patched up. How about you guys?"
"We're just fine, Doctor-san. If you're wondering, Swordsman-kun, Cook-san, Sniper-kun, you and myself are awake; we are just waiting on the others to as well."
Robin detected chuckling coming from Zoro's cell, low and quiet at first, but growing loud enough for Sanji to hear. She could vision the blonde bristling at the sound, believing it to be in some way offensive to either himself or the two women o the crew. He was somewhat right, in this case.
"What're you laughing at, moss-head?"
"Heh, I'm surprised you asked Chopper before asking Robin or the witch."
"Gah, you're right! Nami-swan, Robin-chwan, forgive me my goddesses! My concerns of your well-being were seemingly over-shadowed by the situation at hand! I can only beg of you to punish me as you see fit for my dreadful sins!"
"It's fine, Cook-san. And, it would seem you have forgotten that Navigator-san is not awake as of yet, so she would not know of your self-proclaimed 'error'." Robin felt a pain shoot through her heart at the mention of Nami's name, worry making itself known in her mind. She had no idea why the navigator's name had such an impact on her, but it was making her start to fret about the woman's safety. Robin scanned the corridor, counting the number of doors in her field of vision. There were only four on Ussop and Chopper's side.
"Ussop, how many doors can you see on my side of the hall?"
"Four, why?"
That can't be right. There are nine crew members of the Straw Hats, but only eight cells to hold them in. So, unless one of them has a cell elsewhere in the building or two had been paired up together, one of them were missing.
"Owie."
Luffy's child-like voice rang out from the room beside Chopper's, sounding confused and heavy with sleep. A few scuffling sounds could be heard coming from behind the steel door, as well as some footsteps.
"Saaaaaannnnnjjjiiiiii… I'm so huuuuuuungry!"
"Oi, Luffy, is that you?" Zoro called out to across the hall. The tired movements of the captain perked considerably up, as he noisily scrambled up to slam his face against the bars of his door, hoping to catch a glimpse of the swordsman.
"Hey, Zoro! Ah, Robin, Sanji, you're here too! This place is pretty cool, isn't it? A bit cold, but still awesome! Where are the others?"
"Here!" Chopper and Ussop cried out with glee, overjoyed to find the final member of the Younger Trio and all three members of the Monster Trio awake and ready to fight. Luffy tried his hardest to fit his head through the gaps between the bars, but he couldn't due to the sea stone that Robin assumed was laced through his own cuffs. The sea stone cuffs theory would also explain why Chopper hadn't shown his face in his little window, being too weak to transform so he could see his nakamas smiling back at him.
"Hey guys! Where are Nami, Brook, and Franky?"
Robin felt that pain shoot through her chest again at the mention of Nami's name. Before she could tell Luffy anything though, Brook answered Luffy's query with a chuckled and a, "Oh, how my weary bones ache!" from the cell next door to him. He joined them by pressing his skull against the bars and greeted them all with a cheery tone.
"How, may I ask, is everyone feeling today? I do hope that you are all far better off than me."
"We're all good, Skeleton. We'd be better off if we weren't stuck in this hell-hole, but at least we're all together."
"I'm not sure about that, Sanji…"
Everyone in the hall turned their heads (or at least, as best as they could) to Ussop. He was frowning, from what Robin could see, and seemed to be contemplating something very hard. She briefly wondered if he had realised what she had been mulling over earlier.
"What do you mean, Ussop?"
"Think about it," Robin answered for him. "There are eight doors in this hallway, and there are nine of us. That doesn't work out in a way that we like, so it must mean that either Franky or Nami are being held elsewhere or are in the last remaining cell together."
Everyone was silent, letting the news sink in. Even Luffy was unnervingly quiet, slowly realising that one of his precious nakamas might not be near him.
"Oi, Nami, Franky. Are either of you in there?"
There was more silence. Robin shuffled her way over to the wall between her cell and the one next door and turned her back to it, rapping her knuckles on the stone surface. There was no response, so she knocked a little louder, wincing at the pain shooting up from her hand. Sanji soon caught on to what she was doing on the other side of the cell that divided them, and started (from what Robin assumed) kicking the wall on his side.
Both were unsuccessful, until eventually a loud, decidedly masculine groan could be heard through the wall. Slowly but surely, the person, who could only be Franky, awoke whilst mumbling curses at the sudden wake-up call. Robin waited with baited breath as Luffy called out the question she was dreading to hear the answer to.
"Franky, is Nami in there with you?"
Franky got to his feet and loped over to the door, slamming against it with a clang as his metal body connected with steel. Robin peered out of her little window again, spying Ussop quaking with fear and Luffy shielding his eyes from view with his hat, an air of solemnity surrounding the boy that rarely graced his presence.
"No, why are ya wanting to know, Luffy-bro?"
Robin closed her eyes, letting the breath she had been holding out in a short, shaky sigh. The news hit her hard, confirming her fears and increasing her worry for the Navigator's safety tenfold. When she opened her eyes again, Luffy was still hiding his eyes from the world, and no one was willing to offer information to the befuddled cyborg. Robin took a deep breath, planning to take on the task herself.
"She's the only one who's not here, Ship-wright-san."
BOOSH. BAM. POW.
Btw, the cell arrangements are as follows, for those who didn't understand the way I described it;
Side one - Side two
Sanji - Brook
Franky - Luffy
Robin - Chopper
Zoro - Ussop
I hope you guys enjoyed it, because this took me ages to write- a lot longer than probably allowed, seeing as I'm still really sick and I still have home works to complete. But I think it'll be worth it if you guys review, otherwise I might just abandon this story.
