New Chappie! Woo!
Took me a while to write cause I didn't know where to go with this. I'm kinda following my gut instinct at the moment.
Hope it's not horrible...There's a lil sibling love in there for you.
Roy is probably OOC a little but that's just me trying to figure out how he would be with a younger sister.
Tell me if you like it or not!
Also I said some things before in Author's notes about Alexis' past, like how she loses her memory...please ignore that...I changed my mind lol. Sorry!
Alexis: Jeez lady, get your act together!
You be quiet or i'll make embarrassing things happen to you!
Alexis: *Gulp* She doesnt own FMA, just me...save me...
Chapter 11
Secrets
Alexis dragged Al into the nearest restaurant, Ed following close behind.
"Table for three please!" The girl cheered, pulling out her wallet.
"Alexis, you don't have to pay. Brother has money" Alphonse told her, Ed shooting him a look.
Alexis grinned slyly at him.
"This isn't a date, the guy doesn't need to pay for the girl" She teased.
"Da-?!" Al started, getting flustered.
Ed chuckled.
They sat in the seats, looking at the menus. Alphonse looked too so as to not arouse suspicion.
"So Mustang, I just realised we don't actually know a lot about you. You know about us, I think you should tell us your story" Ed asked, eyes locked to his menu.
Silence was his reply.
The two brothers looked to the girl to see her face hidden behind her menu, her hands clenched around it.
"A-Alexis?"
Her hands started to shake. The boys looked at each other before turning back to her.
"You don't have to tell us if you want, Alexis" Alphonse reassured, putting his large hand over her small one.
The shaking stopped, the menu lowered.
"I think I'll get lasagne! What about you, Ed?" She said, her voice level but her eyes fixed to the list of food.
Ed's suspicions of the girl rose.
Was she just acting so she didn't have to tell us? He thought. She can't have had it that bad, right?
I wonder if the thing on her shoulder has something to do with her past? Al wondered, staring at the bandages and seeing the uneven-ness underneath.
As Alexis moved to pick up her water, the bandages slipped up a little, allowing Alphonse to glance at the familiar light-pink of scarring.
"Is your shoulder ok, Alexis?" He asked, keeping his eyes on where he'd seen the scar.
Alexis looked to him, then to her shoulder. She placed her hand over it.
"Yep! All good, Alphonse!" She grinned, the gesture not quite reaching her eyes.
They ordered their food, Ed getting extra to make it look like Al was eating too.
"Well, what mission do you think the Colonel will give us next?" Ed asked, tearing bread apart between his teeth.
"Probably something to try and keep me out of trouble. He seems to think I can't handle myself sometimes" She told them, folding her arms and staring at the ceiling.
"Well, I hope it at least give us a lead for the stone" Ed grumbled.
Al saw Alexis clutch her shirt where her heart was, eyes focused on something far away.
"I'm sure you'll get an awesome lead soon!" She said, turning her eyes to Ed with a smile.
Their food arrived and they ate, chatting between bites.
They talked about Ed and Al's adventures and Alexis told them some mishaps in the kitchen concerning Roy.
"So, I had to scrub at the tiles for hours to get it out" Alexis laughed.
Ed was holding his gut, laughing till his eyes teared up and Al had his hand in front of his face, shoulders shaking.
Alexis grinned at the two before standing.
"We should probably leave before we get kicked out" She looked at the clock, seeing the time was 9:10 pm.
Only they and two couples were still in the restaurant.
The walk back to the hotel, and Roy's house, was quiet. Everyone in their own thoughts.
Alexis stopped walking, making the brothers turn to her curiously.
She clenched her fists, her bangs hiding her eyes.
"I can't...I can't tell you my past" She started, a small shaking starting through her body. "But...you should know...I've done horrible things"
Her eyes lifted, directly connecting to Ed's.
He was shocked at what she'd said and how serious her eyes were.
"...Horrible things?" Al asked, sounding slightly scared.
Alexis grimaced, looking to the pavement at her feet.
"Yes...Very horrible things"
"Worse than human transmutation?" Ed asked.
All she offered was a nod.
They stayed quiet for a while. All the possible things she had done running through the boys minds.
"I should get home now" She broke the silence, stepping away from them. "Goodnight"
Neither brother had a chance to reply before she was sprinting away.
Alexis slammed the front door shut, leaning her back against it and trying the calm her erratic heartbeat.
She heard a 'Thud' followed by a yell from upstairs.
Roy had fallen out of bed.
It made Alexis calm slightly and smile. Said brother rushed down the stairs, rubbing his knee as he limped.
"What happened? Why are you slamming doors?" He asked, looking at Alexis with slightly startled eyes.
What she would give for Hughes' camera at the moment. Roy always looked much younger when he was surprised, his eyes wide and his mouth open slightly.
She gave a deep breath and held it for a second before letting it out in a large 'whoosh' of air.
"Elric asked me to tell him my past"
Roy sobered quickly, looking like the colonel he was...apart from his ruffled bed clothes.
"What did you do?" He asked, his eyes barely covered the pained look.
"Told them I'd done horrible things but nothing else. They don't know specifics..." She replied, sitting on the couch as she pulled the hair band out, letting her plait loosen and fall around her shoulders, swallowing her to her knees.
Roy sat beside her, hand over her shoulder. He would never be this touchy in front of people, it was reserved only for their times alone.
"Are you thinking of telling them?"
He saw her grimace, then pull her hair around her face.
"...No, I don't think I could if I wanted to. It's painful to think about let alone say. What if they hated me?" The last part was whispered and Roy blinked, surprised.
I didn't think she was that attached to them, well I guess it makes sense. They're the first friends her age that she's had... He thought.
Suddenly his blood boiled, his hand tightened on her shoulder and his jaw stiffened.
If they try anything on her, I'm gonna make them regret hearing the name Roy Mustang. He plotted his evil plans as his sister looked at him strangely.
He snapped out of his thoughts when she poked him in the side.
He made a strange noise and glared at her, holding the spot she'd poked.
Alexis laughed behind her hand.
"If people knew the mighty Flame Alchemist had a ticklish spot..."
"Don't even think of it Alexis!" he growled.
Alexis gave him a cheeky grin. "Of course, dear brother! Poking you is for me only!"
Roy rolled his eyes, keeping his peripherals on her hands. Then he got to his feet.
"If they hate you for your past then they don't deserve to know you Alexis. But...something tells me they wouldn't" The older Mustang said, scratching the back of his head with a yawn.
The younger Mustang got to her feet with a smile and wrapped her arms around her brother's torso. Roy patted her back.
"Thanks Roy" She said.
The two split apart.
"We should both go to bed now, gotta be up early!" Roy grumbled, making his way to the stairs.
"I think I'll stay up a while longer, I feel like reading" Alexis told him.
Roy waved over his shoulder and the said "Goodnight" to each other.
Alexis sat herself on a couch next to the window and stared outside. The street light poured through the window, bathing half of her in dim light.
I hope they never have to find out...
Yes? No?
I just had to make Roy have a ticklish spot, I think it makes him seem more human, rather than just the egotistical-skirt-chasing colonel.
But it's only one small spot under his ribcage...Alexis always manages to hit it though. Haha
Again, Roy wont hug his sister in public, both of them have agreed that it's embarrassing lol
Except when Alexis WANTS to embarrass him.
Also, I am currently working on a picture of Alexis . Been taking a while because I only have to work with and it's decided to be a butt.
Anyway, hope it was good!
I love you my dear readers!
