Pj's POV

"So what happened upstairs?" Chris asked as soon as Kenzie was out the door.

"Nothing."

"C'mon mate, you looked like you just got laid," Dan pointed out.

"I was up there with your sister," I said, raising an eyebrow.

"Jesus Christ, I didn't need to know that!" Dan said. "All these mental images are now attacking my brain and I'll never be able to get rid of them!"

"I didn't get laid-"

"Well you must've gotten some action," Chris reasoned. "No one has that look on their face just from walking up stairs."

"He definitely got something," Jamie said with a wink. Me and Dan flipped him off while Phil frowned.

"C'mon mate give us details," James said, sitting on the couch, looking attentive.

"Do you guys really want to know?" I asked. Everyone nodded, except for Phil who left the room mumbling something about having to go to the bathroom.

"Summer lovin' happened so fast," I smirked as I started singing. James threw a pillow at my face to get me shut up.

"Tell us the real thing," Louis said.

"Over my dead body," I declared, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Ten quid that she's probably spilling every detail to Zoe right now," Chris said sagely.

"Ya know what?"

"What?" Jamie asked eagerly.

"I'm not going to tell you guys anything, what happened upstairs stays between me and Kenzie," I declared.

"OMG you totally shagged her!" Louis exclaimed.

"I did not."

"Your blushing," Sophie stated simply.

"Am not," I argued turning my face away from them.

"You so are."

"You know what, Phil's been gone a while, let me check on him," I said, getting up and heading towards the bathroom. The downstairs bathroom door was wide open so I decided to head upstairs. The door to my bedroom was cracked and I could've sworn that I had it closed. I walked in to see Phil standing in the center of the room looking at the picture of me and Kenzie I had on my desk.

"Phil? Are you ok?"

"No, I'm not ok!" Phil spat out angrily.

"What's wrong?"

"You, you always get everything I even think about. Ever since we were kids the girls always fell for you. You were the perfect one. You were mysterious, and funny, and nice, and everybody wanted you. No one, and I mean not one single person gave a rat's ass about me. And the one time I think I have a chance with a girl, you come in and becomes Mr. Hero again. How does it feel to get every single fucking thing you ever wanted? Huh? Tell me: How. Does. It. Feel?!"

"Phil, I didn't know you felt like this," I said at a loss for words.

"Of course you didn't, 'cause all you ever think about is me me me me me me me. And you know what? I'm done with it."

I sighed. "Look, Phil, I'm really sorry. I don't really know how I feel about Kenzie, but you obviously know how you feel, so why don't you ask her out or something. She deserves someone better than me or Collin; someone like you."

"Can I just ask you one thing?"

"Yeah, anything."

"What were you two doing up here? And please be honest with me."

Shit.

"Well you see," I started awkwardly, scratching the back of my neck.

"You were actually shagging her. I knew it. I knew it. I thought you were better than that man. That's Dan's sister. Dan's sister! How could you. You know what, you're no better than that douche Collin," Phil shouted angrily. He started to the door, but then turned around to face me again, "This is for Kenzie." Phil punched me in the jaw. "And this is for being the worst friend ever." Phil said while punching me in the gut before he walked out.

"I wasn't shagging her," I mumble before I blacked out in pain.

Third Person POV

"Hey guys, you want to go out for lunch?" Phil asked as he entered the room.

"Yeah, sure, but where's Peej?" Chris asked.

"He's, uh, feeling a bit ill so he told us to go out and have fun while he tries to sleep it off," Phil lied smoothly. Everyone bought the lie and soon everyone had left the house, leaving a bleeding passed-out Pj on the cold hard floor.

Mac's POV

"Okay, where to first?" Zoe asked, turning around to face us as we walked down the streets.

"Ooh, definitely TopMen," Carrie said.

"Shit," I swore quietly.

"What's wrong?" Zoe asked.

"Nothing I just left my backpack with my money at Pj's."

"Oh, ok. How about you run over there and get your bag, and we'll meet you at Starbucks in like thirty. That'll give us time to get your Christmas present," Louise decided.

"You guy don't have to get me anything, you barely know me."

"But you're our sister now, we insist," Zoe said.

"But-"

"No buts. You go get your backpack, and we'll meet you at Starbucks," Zoe decided, pushing me in the direction of Pj's house.

"See you guys there," I said waving at them. I made the short walk to Pj's house and tried to open the door, but it was locked. I called Pj but he didn't answer, so I decided to call Dan.

"Hello?" Dan answered.

"Hey are you guys not at Pj's anymore?"

"No, we headed out to lunch, why?"

"I need to get my backpack, but the doors locked."

"Oh, well let me just ask Jamie if they have a spare key… they do. It under the black santa doll." I bent down to look under the doll, and picked up the key.

"Thanks I got it."

"Oh, and can you check on Pj for Sophie, before we left he said he was feeling ill, just make sure he's ok."

"I will."

"Thanks."

"Love ya, bye."

"Bye," Dan said before hanging up. I unlocked the door and grabbed my bag from just inside the doorway. I slowly walked up the stairs to Pj's room.

"Pj?" I asked knocking on the door "are you ok?"

There was soft mumbling and coughing coming from the other side of the door.

"Pj, I'm coming in in five seconds so be decent," I said, using the same phrase I used with Dan when we were younger. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1," I counted down before opening the door. Pj was lying on the floor with blood dripping out of his mouth.

"Pj! Pj!" I shouted running over to him and lifting his head into my lap. "Pj, Peej, wake up!"

I opened my backpack and pulled out an old tee-shirt covered in paint from one of Tommy's art projects and my water bottle. I poured some of the water onto the shirt and started cleaning up Pj's face. His eyes fluttered open before closing again.

"Pj?" I asked quietly and cautiously.

Pj groaned in response and opened his eyes, "Kenz?"

"How you feeling?"

"Like shit. How do you think I'm feeling?"

"What happened?" I asked, brushing some of his hair out of his eyes.

"Er… stairs aren't exactly my friend… and neither are walls… or railings for that matter…"

"Bullshit! Don't lie to me, Liguori."

"What makes you think I'm lying to you? Don't trust me all of a sudden?"

"No, it's just that your friends wouldn't leave you bleeding on the floor."

"They left?"

"They told me that you were feeling 'ill,' and they went out for lunch."

"Well, technically, I am ill."

"Pj, please, why are you lying? Why won't you tell me the truth?"

"You can't handle the truth." He smirked, then winced and repositioned the cloth on his head.

"Pj, you're only hurting yourself by not telling me."

"Honestly Kenz, you won't like the truth."

"I don't care if I'll like it or not, I need to know."

"Well after you left, Jamie spilled what happened between us upstairs and Dan got pissed-"

"I am going to kill Dan," I said standing up letting Pj's head drop into the floor.

"No, please don't," Pj said, sitting up slowly with a grimace.

"No, he think he can intervene in anything slightly romantic or intimate that happens with me, just because he doesn't have a love life doesn't mean he has to be some creepy fangirl changing every detail of my life to fit in with his fantasy."

"He just wants to protect you; I don't really blame him, actually."

"I get that when were were younger, but I'm an adult now and I managed just fine without him in New York."

"Yeah, but he probably doesn't realize that… please don't kill him."

"Fine," I huffed and sat down next to Pj on his bed. "Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm fine, don't worry. I'll let you know if my head still hurts later."

"Pj," I mumbled softly after a few minutes of silence.

"Hmm?"

"I promised Zoe, Carrie and Louise that I would meet them at Starbucks and do some Christmas shopping with them, but…"

"But what?"

"But I really hate shopping. Like it's worse than sports."

He grinned. "Are you suggesting canceling Christmas shopping and staying here in the House of House Mates?"

"One half of my mind says that, but my smart part tell me that I won't be doing shopping until Christmas Eve if I don't go."

"Go to the awesome stores that have Pokemon stuff and you can get your shopping done in ten minutes for the entire foursome."

"They want to get makeup and shoes and girly things," I whine.

"NOO! THE HORRORRR!"

"Don't make me go, I beg of you."

"Well, since you're begging, I guess I can make a call… phone please, peasant."

"Since when am I the peasant?" I asked, handing over my phone.

"Well, you're almost nineteen now, so roughly… almost nineteen year-" He stopped short and frowned at the screen, handing the phone back to me. "Passcode?" he requested.

"No probl-" I paused, looking down at my phone and realizing the lock screen was a selfie of Collin and I from this morning. I quickly typed it in and handed back the phone, hoping Pj wouldn't mention anything. I leaned over to see him looking at my home screen that was a tumblr collage of basically the hottest american youtubers. And that's why I shouldn't share my phone

"I can ignore the YouTubers, but when did you take a selfie with Col- Him this morning?"

"I umm-" I was interrupted by a new text message from Collin saying, 'hey babe want to go on a date tonight? I was thinking dinner and a movie.' Pj sighed. "Pj's it's not what you thin-"

"I don't need excuses, it's your life Mackenzie and you can do whatever you want with it. I just remembered, my phone's downstairs," Pj said before getting up and walking out the room.
