Chapter 8
Is it You?
Amber POV
"Ready?" Dusk asked.
I looked up at Dusk, her sapphire eyes glinted wickedly as I leaned over the side of the staircase.
"Ready," I answered.
"Three…two…one…" she started, "GO!"
Dusk pushed off and shoved the cardboard slab that used to be a box over the edge of the stairs. I squealed as I slid down the staircase on said box…
And promptly slid into Bulkhead's pede.
"Ow," I moaned.
"Oh Primus, Amber you ok!?" Dusk shouted, leaning over me.
"That…was…awesome!" I cheered, "Let's do that again!"
Dusk sighed and shook her head.
"You guys act like a bunch of kids," Jack chuckled.
We turned to him.
"When you've been through what we have…you'd understand," I answered.
Dusk flared her wings and stretched.
"Well…want to go again?" she asked.
"Heck yeah!" I grinned.
"What happened to your guys' chores?" Miko demanded from Bulkhead's shoulder.
"Got 'em done over two hours ago," Dusk smirked.
"You guys stink," Miko grumbled before adding to Bulkhead, "Now can we go dune bashing?"
"I dunno Miko," Bulkhead started, "last time I spent a week picking sand from my articulators…But there's a monster truck rally in town…"
"Way to soften the blow, Bulkhead," Dusk grinned.
"Can I come with?" I asked.
"Don't see why not," Bulkhead shrugged, making Miko squeal as she nearly fell off his shoulder, "Oops, sorry Miko,"
"Optimus," Ratchet interrupted, "I'm receiving a signal on a restricted band…it appears to be coming from a starship inside this solar system,"
He tapped on the keyboard and froze.
"It's an Autobot identification beacon!" he exclaimed.
"So…there are other 'Bots out there?" Jack asked.
"The masses scattered to the galaxies when Cybertron finally went dark," Arcee explained, "But…'Cons have been known to bait traps with fake beacons,"
"Unknown vessel," Optimus began, "This is Autobot Outpost Omega 1. Identify yourself,"
There was a crackle of static before a voice answered.
"I've had warmer welcomes from Decepticon combat brigades!" the voice drawled.
"Wheeljack!?" Bulkhead exclaimed incredulously, starting forwards suddenly and causing Miko to yelp as she jerked backwards, "You old 'Con Crusher! What are you doing all the way out here!?"
"Bulkhead?" Wheeljack, I guess, asked, "That you? What's with all the security!?"
"The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons," Bulkhead explained, "How soon can you get here to even the odds?"
"Sometime tomorrow…if I put the metal to the pedal," Wheeljack replied smugly.
"Another 'Bot's coming here!" Miko cried, perking up, "How cool is that!?"
"Yeah, always fun when a newbie shows up," Ben grinned, "Finding alt modes for them is fun,"
"Got that right," Dusk added, "Though…some of them are picky, very picky,"
"Wheeljack…" Optimus started, "I know of him by reputation only…can you verify his voice print?"
"He is one thousand percent the real deal, Optimus," Bulkhead nodded.
"We will send landing coordinates, Wheeljack," Optimus said, "Safe journey,"
"See ya soon buddy!" Bulkhead called, "I'll make sure you get a proper welcome!"
And the comm cut off.
"So who's the boyfriend?" Arcee teased.
Bulkhead gave a low laugh.
"Me and Jackie go way back," he answered, "We were part of the same war unit, the Wreckers…which means the 'Con's gonna wish he never found us,"
Dusk POV
Bulkhead was pretty much bouncing off the walls. I swear that mech was so hyped up about meeting Wheeljack Ratchet had locked him in his quarters to keep him out of the medbay…
He kept us up half the night from bouncing off the walls.
Literally I think.
At least…his quarters look like that.
"Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing zone," Arcee announced the next morning.
"You think he's here to visit?" Raf asked.
"Maybe he'll stay!" Miko chirped excitedly, "Hmm…have to find his own human though,"
Ratchet started up the Groundbridge so we could get said Wrecker.
"Groundbridge cycling up…" he announced proudly…
Right as it spat sparks.
Ratchet snarled and pounded a fist into the controls.
"Blasted Scraplets!" he growled, "Equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation,"
"So…Wheeljack's going to land halfway around the world…and then you'll Bridge him here?" Jack asked.
"We can't risk revealing the location of our Base," Dad explained, "Just in case the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship,"
He looked like he was going to add something else…when Bulkhead started pacing.
"Dude!" Miko started, "I've never seen you so stoked!"
"Oh, you're gonna love Wheeljack!" Bulkhead grinned, "We were like brothers…and tonight…we're gonna party!"
"Sw-eet!" Miko cheered.
"Yes!" Amber yelled.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded…Wheeljack's ship!
"Bogeys!" Arcee announced, "Closing fast on Wheeljack's position,"
"'Con scum!" Bulkhead snarled, optics burning neon white in anger.
"Autobots…roll out!" Dad ordered.
I started towards the Bridge but Dad blocked me with a servo.
"Stay," he ordered.
I gave a heavy sigh but stayed put.
And 'Bee, Bulkhead, and Arcee left.
Arcee POV
We got there right as a white, green and red mech ran his sword right through a Vehicon.
"Hehe," Bulkhead chuckled, "I taught him that,"
"Ever think I might need a hand here?" Wheeljack asked.
"What?" Bulkhead retorted, "And spoil the show?"
"You missed one," I pointed out.
And Wheeljack shot him underneath his arm.
"If this is all you got," Wheeljack said, gesturing at me and 'Bee, "The planet's in bigger trouble than I thought,"
Bulkhead suddenly rushed forwards and grabbed Wheeljack in a crushing bear hug.
"Jackie!" he crowed, lifting the smaller mech into the air.
"Hehe, watch the finish you old Wreckin' Ball!" Wheeljack teased.
Bulkhead put Wheeljack down and Wheeljack suddenly turned to the ruined starship.
"You can come out now," he called.
My optics widened as a small shape peered out from the wreckage.
Dusk POV
Bulkhead and the others ran in right as the Groundbridge gave a sinister sounding snap and closed.
"So this is the infamous Wheeljack?" I asked.
Said mech gave a cocky smile and bent down to get at my level.
"And you would be?" he drawled.
"Skyfyre Prime," I answered, shifting to my femme form and placing a servo on my hip, "But…I prefer Dusk Greyman,"
And with that I shifted back to human form.
"Well Miss Prime, I guess you know who I am…but you don't know my little friend here," Wheeljack smirked.
He turned around and tilted his helm back towards us…
And a young man about our age (well, mine, Amber's and Ben's age anyway) came slowly around Wheeljack's pede.
"This is Sean Whinging, my charge and my friend," Wheeljack introduced, "He doesn't talk though…ever since that 'Con murdered his family…"
Sean's hazel eyes dimmed sadly and he looked down, his silvery-brown hair falling into his eyes.
"You've already met Dusk," Ben started, extending his hand to Sean, "Name's Ben,"
Sean nodded and shook hands with Ben.
"Nice watch," I said, looking at the piece.
Sean's face went white and he jerked his hand behind his back.
"Ok, I won't ask about that," I added, coming closer to Ben.
I looked over at Amber…
She stood stock still, green eyes wide and cheeks red. I elbowed her.
"You're handsome!" she blurted, then realized what she said and her face went even redder, "I-I mean…I'm A-Amber,"
Sean gave a soft smile and nodded in return.
"Amber's got a boyfriend, Amber's got a boyfriend," Ben teased.
Amber shot him a look.
"Shut. Up," she warned.
"Amber and Sean sittin' in a tree…K-I-S-S-I-N-G…"
I elbowed him in the ribs, hard.
He was gasping for breath and Amber gave me a satisfied smile.
"Jackie, Sean!" Bulkhead interrupted, "Meet my other best buddy, Miko! She can wreck with the best of us!"
"Hiya," Miko waved.
"You keeping Bulkhead out of trouble?" Wheeljack asked.
"I try," she sighed, grinning, "But trouble finds us anyway…me, Bulk, and Am,"
Sean looked at Amber, a mischievous glint in his eyes…and Amber's knees started wobbling.
She had her first crush…aw how sweet!
"We're gonna get along just fine," Wheeljack finished, looking at both Amber and Miko.
And then Dad walked in.
"Optimus Prime," Wheeljack started, "It's a privilege,"
"Likewise soldier," Dad said, "What have you to report from your long journey?"
"Been bouncin' from rock to rock, searchin' for sing of friend or foe…" Wheeljack replied, "Now…I find both,"
"We are few…but strong," Dad replied, "We have suffered losses, but we have grown…and we would relish welcoming a new member into our fold,"
"I would be honored," Wheeljack answered.
"Then let's get this party started!" Bulkhead crowed, slapping Wheeljack's shoulder.
Wheeljack pitched forwards just a bit, before turning around and chassis bumping his team mate.
"Oh joy," Ratchet growled.
Everyone laughed…except for one person, not counting Dad (he gave a slight smile).
Sean.
Sean didn't smile or laugh…in fact, I would have said he didn't want to be here at all.
Wheeljack POV
I heard voices coming from the outside…and Screamer and 'Wave both came in. I glared at them both.
"…Our inside man is already inside," Screamer finished.
"Tell Megatron he's fragged in the head if he thinks Bulkhead won't sniff out an imposter," I growled.
Screamy growled and came closer.
"Haven't you heard?" he asked, "I lead the Decepticons now,"
"You?!" I replied, "HA!"
Screamer snarled and raised his talons, intending to strike me down…
But Soundwave stopped him.
"Yes…" Starscream growled, "He may yet be of use. Makeshift is very good at keeping up appearances. He need only fool your friends long enough to open up their Groundbridge from within…so that I may learn the location of the Autobot Base,"
Silence from the visored 'Con. What a surprise.
"And if the prisoner doesn't cooperate…we'll just have Makeshift squish his human pet," Screamer finished.
"You touch a hair on Sean's head and I will personally rip out your sparkplugs, shove a live round up your aft and scrap whatever's left," I snarled, "You're gonna wish you'd never been created!"
"We'll see who'll be wishing they'd never been created," Screamer said as he walked out.
I screamed in anger and frustration.
They had my Shawnee.
They had him connected to that horrible device that wouldn't let him speak or do anything that would alert the others that the Wheeljack in the Base wasn't ME!
My charge was in danger…
And I couldn't do anything about it.
Dusk POV
I walked around the Base, waiting for the party to start…when I heard it.
"You almost blew it fleshy," I heard Wheeljack snarl, "And you know what that means,"
"N-no!" a heavily British accented voice begged, "Please! I-I didn't m-mean to do anything! Please don…"
There was a sharp squeal of pain and a thud.
"Are you going to do anything stupid again Shawnee?"
"You…you have no right to call me that!" the second voice snarled, "Only Jackie gets to call me that, you bloody no good 'Con!"
"Tsk, tsk, Sean…I am Wheeljack…remember?"
"You look like my Jackie, Makeshift, but I know Screamy has my Jackie prisoner. So go ahead, kill me, I'm no use to you anyway,"
There was silence.
"No…I think I'd rather do it when your guardian is standing in front of you…and I squeeze you in my servo until you pop,"
I didn't hear any more…
I ran.
We had a 'Con in the Base but I couldn't say anything…
I'd be endangering Sean's life if I did.
Jack POV
Amber and Miko's "music" rocked through the Base that night. I had told Mom that I was spending the night at Raf's house, he told his parents that he was spending the night at Miko's and Miko, told her host parents that she was spending the night at my house…
For studying.
Well…it wasn't a complete lie…
We did study…
Until Amber brought out her drum sticks.
And there went Miko.
Raf and I couldn't concentrate with all the noise so we gave up and watched the others.
"C'mon Jackie…" Bulkhead taunted, "Show me what you got!"
A big blur of metal streaked by Miko's head and slammed into Bulkhead.
"Hahaha! Nice lob!" Bulkhead chuckled, hurling the ball of metal towards Wheeljack.
"So…" I started, "What's that about?"
"It's called lobbing," Arcee explained, "The favorite pastime on Cybertron…especially among the Warrior class,"
Ok…am I the only one who thought that might be a little fun? Well, if I was a heck of a lot bigger and had the strength of a 'Bot.
"C'mon Raf!" Miko yelled over the lobbing game, "Show us some moves,"
"Ben! You too!" Amber yelled.
Ben growled and looked up at Jolt pleadingly.
Said 'Bot put up his servos.
"Don't drag me into this," he said.
Ben sighed and got up next to Raf.
"Oh alright," Raf sighed, getting up…
The two looked at each other and nodded.
And they both mirrored each other's moves.
Dusk started laughing and I did too.
'Bee leaned down, optics wide as he watched with interest.
"Of course…the robot," I chuckled.
The yellow scout watched the two dancers for a second, gave a soft chirp, and joined in!
And Dusk laughed even harder, tears streaming.
"A robot doing the robot," Amber laughed, "Nice, 'Bee,"
I heard Ratchet give a low groan and I realized there was one person missing.
"Where's Optimus?" I asked.
Something didn't feel right when he left…always had…
"Went for a drive," Arcee shrugged.
I looked at her.
"Prime's don't party," she clarified.
I looked over at our second Prime…who had joined in with her boyfriend and adopted brother…and then back at Arcee.
"She's young," Arcee amended.
"Comin' at ya!" Bulkhead announced, throwing the lobbing ball again.
I watched and realized that his trajectory was off…it would hit Wheeljack's outstretched fingers and then hit the wall. And I was right…the ball skimmed past said mech's fingers, slammed into the wall…
And onto the Groundbridge controls, causing them to spark violently.
Uh oh…here it comes…
"Y-you know I am attempting to perform sensitive calibrations here!" Ratchet snapped.
"Sorry Doc," Wheeljack apologized, "Guess we're a little charged up,"
He walked over to the Bridge and looked it over.
"You built this Bridge from scratch, huh?" he asked in mild interest.
"I did," Ratchet replied.
"With my help!" Jolt snapped.
"Sorry Jolt," Ratchet amended, "Jolt and I made it,"
"Thank you," the blue medic huffed.
"That's quite a feat of engineering," Wheeljack nodded.
"…Yes…it is," Ratchet said.
"Somethin…wrong with it?"
Ok, the way he said it kinda put me on edge. I frowned.
"He's not the real Wheeljack," a soft voice whispered in the back of my head.
Where did that come from? Of course it was the real Wheeljack! I mean…how would I know? Bulkhead knows him best…Sean too…but I mean…they'd know…right?
"He'll kill you and your family, stop him before he does!"
But that's just crazy…right? I mean, he's a giant robot…I'm just a tiny human. He'd squish me before I could make a dent in his armor.
I wasn't the only one who heard him…
Dusk stopped and watched the two as well.
"I didn't care for the way it sounded the last jump," Ratchet explained, "I put it in shut down,"
A frustrated…almost angry…look crossed Wheeljack's faceplate before he composed himself.
"What if you need to use it?" he asked.
"Oh, I can't disrupt the defrag process without causing irreparable damage," Ratchet said.
"Stop telling him things!" that little voice shrieked in the back of my head.
"So uh…how long will the defrag take?" Wheeljack asked.
Alarm bells went off in my head again.
He was really starting to creep me out…I didn't like this.
"A few hours," Ratchet shrugged, turning to face him, "If we're lucky…maybe longer,"
"Huh…" Wheeljack growled, walking off.
Something's not right.
Sean POV
I scratched at the device on my wrist, I had tried everything to get it off…and nothing. I couldn't get the bloody thing off…especially with the bloody 'Con watching my every move!
I missed my Jackie, it wasn't fair!
I can't talk, I can't do any fragging thing!
"Tell us a war story Bulk!" the Asian girl…Miko I think…called.
I sat down right between Amber and Dusk.
Dusk gave me a bright smile…and I noticed Amber turned a bright red color.
"Focus, Sean," I thought, "If you want to warn the others before its too late…you have to get the Prime alone…since Optimus isn't here…Dusk will have to help."
And another thought occurred to me.
"If the device stings me every time I talk or try to warn them…how am I supposed to do that?"
I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Raf POV
"So there we were, no communications, low on energon…surrounded by 'Cons…so what does Wheeljack do?" Bulkhead continued, looking at his buddy, we all leaned forwards, "Heh, tell 'em Jackie!"
Wheeljack gave a soft laugh.
"What I do best," he shrugged.
Bulkhead let out another laugh.
"He chucks his only grenade smack into the primary heat exchanger!" Bulkhead continued.
"Yeah," Wheeljack added, "Seemed like a good idea at the time,"
"The joint went supernova!" Bulkhead finished, spreading his arms.
"Awesome!" Miko breathed.
"Yeah, I'm still picking shrapnel from my backside," Bulkhead added sheepishly.
"I'm not surprised," Arcee snorted.
"Giving the size of your backside," Dusk snickered.
"Nice one lil' sis," 'Bee laughed.
Bulkhead leaned down and pointed at Wheeljack's waist.
"There it is," he said reverently, "Jackie's signature, one grenade…one shot…"
He frowned and shook his servo in front of Wheeljack's faceplate.
"Hey…" Bulkhead started, "You alright?"
"What?" Wheeljack asked.
"You don't seem like yourself," Bulkhead added, warily.
"What do ya mean?" Wheeljack demanded.
"I dunno…you seem…quiet,"
"Ah…I've been stuck in a can too long," Wheeljack dismissed, "I should go topside before I go stir crazy,"
"I have patrol in the morning…you can come with," Bulkhead offered.
"Let's go now!" Wheeljack grinned.
"And break up the party?" Bulkhead asked, scandalized, "C'mon! The Gang's loving you! You gotta tell 'em about the battle or Darkmount Pass!"
"You tell 'em," Wheeljack shrugged, "You're better at it…how 'bout if Miko here shows me around the rest of your Base?"
"Well…yeah!" Bulkhead shrugged, "Sure Jackie…go ahead!"
"Tour starts now!" Mikoe exclaimed, hopping down from her perch on the box, "Do you play any instruments? Can you fly? Have you thrashed more Decepticons than Bulkhead?"
And her voice cut out as she and Wheeljack walked out.
"You alright?" Arcee asked Bulkhead.
"Yeah…just…outta sorts I guess,"
"Don't tell me you're jealous!"
"That Miko's making a new friend? C'mon," Bulkhead snorted, "Something…something's not right about Wheeljack,"
"Bulkhead, really?" Arcee asked, "He's traveled galaxies, you haven't seen him for centuries! He could just be rocket lagged or…well…'Bots do change ya know,"
"Not Jackie," Bulkhead growled through gritted teeth.
Wheeljack/Makeshift POV
"So…that's pretty much it," the fleshy finished, "Energon stockpile, power generator, armory...everything you need to blow the joint sky high.
Ah, music to my audios. She had no clue that that is exactly what I was going to do…
Maybe I'll lock her in the Base when I do…her talking's annoying.
"Where's this bunker located?" I asked, "Exactly,"
"If I told you…" she replied darkly, "I'd have to rip out your spark chamber,"
I recoiled.
The fleshy could do that!?
She broke into a smile.
"Kidding!" she sang, "Just outside Jasper, Nevada, though I don't expect that to mean much to ya,"
"Can't say it does," I growled, "So…any way outta here besides Bridging?"
"Why?" she asked, making me abruptly stop, "You're not planning to leave already…are you?"
She gave a slight smile.
"C'mon, I'll show you," she added, and I followed her out.
Lord Starscream will be pleased with everything I have found out.
Dusk POV
"Almost there," I heard Ratchet murmur.
Sean came over to me.
"You ok?" I asked.
His eyes spoke volumes and he sat next to me. He leaned towards me and he looked like he was going to kiss me…
"He's a fake," Sean whispered.
I looked at him.
"I know," I said, "But I can't do anything about it…because it'll hurt you,"
Sean closed his eyes and gave a slight nod.
"Look," Bulkhead growled, "I know Wheeljack better than anyone…"
"Hey," I heard the imposter say as he and Miko walked in.
Sean shook slightly, hazel eyes fearful for Miko.
"What are you guys talking about?" the Wheeljack/'Con asked.
"I was just telling the guys all about you and me," Bulkhead replied coolly, "At the Battle of Darkmount Pass?"
"That's a heck of a story,"
"Yep…tell it," Bulkhead hissed.
"Talk, talk, talk," Miko sighed, "How 'bout after we go offroading?"
"Miko, stay outta this," her guardian snarled.
"Bulkhead, easy!" Arcee urged.
"I'm not sure I…" the white mech started.
"TELL IT!" Bulkhead shouted.
"Fine," the Wheeljack fake growled, glaring at Bulkhead, "You want to live in the past Bulkhead?"
He looked at the kids.
"The Wreckers were trapped between the Decepticon patrol and the smelting pit," the fake started, "The 'Cons were vicious, bearing down on us with everything they had. Me and Bulkhead engaged the enemy, left 'em for scrap, then I made us a way out by using their backsides as stepping stones across the molten metal. Isn't that how it happened?"
"Yeah," Bulkhead sighed, "That's exactly how it happened…"
The Fake gave a smug grin.
"Except for one little thing…" Bulkhead growled, optics narrowing dangerously.
Yes, we have him caught!
"I wasn't there!"
Everyone froze, looking at the fake with new optics.
"I'd already left to Wreckers to join up with Optimus," Bulkhead snarled, "But you wouldn't know that if all you did was access Wheeljack's public service record,"
"Bulkhead?" Miko asked, "What does that have to do with…whoa!"
"MIKO!" We all yelled as the fake grabbed her.
"Stay back!" the fake snarled, "Or I'll squeeze her into pulp!"
A low snarl ripped from my throat as I glared at the fake…I heard another snarl…but it was low to the ground…right about my height, not any of the 'Bots…but it had the same metallic, feral edge to it.
I felt a sharp twang of bitter anger in my spark…and it wasn't from 'Bee or 'Cee. This was different…but I didn't know where it came from.
No one moved…although everyone wanted to.
"Wheeljack! What are you doing!?" Miko demanded.
"It's not Jackie! It's a 'Con called Makeshift!" Sean's voice rang out, followed by a harsh, hoarse scream as the Brit fell to the ground, clutching his wrist and screaming in pain.
The fragging watch!
I ran to his side and tried to get him to stay still so I could get it off.
"Decepticon coward!" Bulkhead snarled, "Let the girl go and face me!"
"Don't fret!" Makeshift chuckled, "Plenty of fighting to come,"
"Is there a real Wheeljack?" Jack demanded, voice hard and eyes gleaming.
"On. Nemesis!" Sean grunted before yowling again.
"Oh indeed," Makeshift smirked, "And I believe Lord Starscream is making sport of him,"
"NO!" Sean screamed, getting up and charging forwards, pulling out what looked like katanas and stabbing them into Makeshift's pedes…
The 'Con kicked him away.
Sean crashed into Amber, unconscious and I quickly removed the device, letting it melt in my palm.
The consol beeped, signaling the Groundbridge was ready.
"About time," Makeshift snarled, pulling down the lever.
He started backing towards the Groundbridge, daring us to attack him.
"Let's get this party started!" he chuckled as Miko gave a yell…
Suddenly, something smashed into the 'Con, knocking Miko from his grip and into Bulkhead's servo.
Another Wheeljack straightened up.
"I'd shut that hole before the stink comes through," he said nonchalantly.
Ratchet nodded and quickly shut the Bridge.
"J-Jackie?" Sean's voice breathed.
"Shawnee," the real Wheeljack hummed, gently placing a fingertip on the boy's shoulder.
The white Wrecker's optics grew cold as Makeshift stood back up.
"You…" Wheeljack snarled, "I hope you've prayed to Primus today…'cause you're going to be meeting him in ten seconds,"
"I was going to say the same to you," Makeshift replied, unsheathing his blades.
The two identical mechs circled each other like cats, swords raised and optics deadly.
Bulkhead slammed his fists together as Makeshift passed him.
Wheeljack stopped him with a tap of his blade.
"Ugly's mine," he growled.
And they jumped at each other, twirling their blades in a sharp storm.
"Which one's the real Wheeljack?" Raf asked.
Miko's eyes flicked between the two fighters.
"I lost track!" she shouted.
"That one," Jack replied calmly, apparently I wasn't the only one who could keep up with the swift flurry of blades.
Wheeljack disarmed Makeshift and kneed him in the helm, knocking him flat as he placed his blade on his throat.
"That was for Shawnee," Wheeljack snarled.
"That's my Jackie," Bulkhead preened.
"You," Wheeljack growled, looking at Ratchet, "Hit the switch, its time to take out the trash,"
Bulkhead walked up to his friend and Wheeljack looked at him.
"All yours buddy," he said.
Bulkhead picked up the 'Con as Ratchet fired up the Bridge and dragged him over to the vortex…
And hurled him through.
"Nice lob," Wheeljack smirked as the Bridge closed.
Ben POV
The next morning, we all had a little party to celebrate the real Wheeljack's return. I watched as my students had a little fun on the dance floor…and to tell you the truth…
Raf is the only good dancer in the group. Sorry, Jack…but my eyes. They hurt.
But, that is staying in my own head and no one is going to hear it. Nope.
'Bee had gotten Jolt to join him in dancing, and I admit, the two were really good…
Sean gave a laugh from Wheeljack's shoulder as Jolt accidently smacked 'Bee in the optic, causing 'Bee to yell in pain.
"It's like a recurring nightmare!" Ratchet moaned from the Groundbridge controls.
"Now that you're part of Team Prime," Bulkhead started, "We need to pick out a vehicle mode for you! I have some ideas!"
"Uh…about that Bulk…" Wheeljack admitted, "Now that my ship's repaired…I'm itchin' to know…what else I might find out there,"
"And I'm going with him," Sean added, looking sadly at Amber, "He's the only family I have left after my Mum, my sister, and my Dad died,"
"Wait!" Miko protested, "You're leaving!? Why!?"
"Because some 'Bots never change," Bulkhead sighed, "Hehe,"
"Wheeljack," Optimus started, "Know that you'll always have a haven here,"
"Jackie never stays…" Bulkhead continued, "But he always comes back,"
...
A few minutes later, we stood right outside the ship, waiting for the twosome to go. I'll admit, it was sad to see them go…but they were ready.
"There's room for two, Bulk," Wheeljack offered, "Shawnee sits on my knee most of the trips anyway…but even with a backside like yours,"
Bulkhead seemed to think about it.
"Who knows who we might find out there!" Wheeljack prodded, "Some of the old crew…"
Bulkhead looked down at Miko. The girl looked away and held her arm, fighting tears as Jack and Raf put their hands on her shoulder and arm.
"Heh, sounds like fun, Jackie," Bulkhead said, "But…my ties are here now, with them…with her,"
Miko's face brightened.
"I know the feeling," Wheeljack nodded, looking at Sean and then looking towards Miko, "If anything happens to my favorite Wrecker…I'm coming after you,"
Miko grinned.
"I'll take good care of him," she replied, taking out her phone, "Now…say cheese!"
The camera flash blinded us all…
But…at least Miko had something to remember Wheeljack and Sean by.
Even better…she gave Amber a copy.
A/N Ben you can be such a kid. Teasing Amber like that by God! Well...Convoy is next and five words: Dusk in cab with Fowler.
