"I don't know why I thought taking you here, considering that you're a werewolf, would make me feel any better." Aria sighs, puffing air out of her cheeks, "Things have gotten pretty..."
"Crazy?" Issac supplies, "Chaotic? Other worldly? Been trying to wrap my own head around it for months now. Still can't quite get it." Issac says, leaning back against the hood of her car.
She had driven for a long time until she came to an old bluff she used to come to with her Mom when she was a kid. That was how her Mom had coined the nickname, 'my little bird' for her. When Aria had claimed that she knew how to fly, and was even about to prove it. Her Mom would kiss her head and say she believed her so Aria wouldn't launch herself off the bluffs.
Aria pulls her knees up to her chest, "How do you deal with it? I mean, with you being a wolf and all, what's it like? Just pure curosity over here, not, 'please turn me into a werewolf right now' chaos."
Issac looks over at her, "It's awesome. I get to be super strong, so I can defeat any pickle jar. Everything is heightened, I can hear, smell, touch, a million times better than I could before."
"That so?"
"I can hear your heart beating wildly in your chest, I can smell the vanilla of your perfume." Issac supplies, sitting up beside her so their thighs touched.
Aria looks over at him, "Huh. So it has its perks."
"You could call them that."
Aria lazily drops her legs back down so they hang over the side of her car, "Do you ever miss it? Being human?"
"Sometimes, especially during full moons. Or whenever I lose my temper. But I always end up wanting to be a werewolf. It's easier than being human, you know? You're not plain, you're not.. normal." Issac spits out the last word as if it were toxic.
"So you think I'm plain and normal then?"
"Course not."
"Using your logic, I am human, henceforth labelling me plain and normal." Aria supplies, rolling her eyes, "Wouldn't be a first for me. I can't really do anything. I'm not super smart like Lydia, I don't have crazy strength and wolf powers like you guys, I'm not anything."
Issac bumps her shoulder, "Hey, don't say that."
"Why not?" She prods, "It's true though, isn't it?"
"On the contrary I think you're the most fascinating person I've ever met."
"You barely know me."
"In the short time I've known you."
"Yeah and that's been what, five minutes?" Aria scoffs, "Don't make me laugh." Then she turns to realize he's leaning in towards her. She thinks he's going to kiss her and she's not sure if she should or not.
Issac looks at her with his sad puppy eyes, "Most fascinating person I've ever met."
Then suddenly, his lips are on hers and she can't help the way she lunges at him. His lips collide with hers and all she can hear is her frantic heartbeat and she knows he can hear it too. He grabs her waist and she gasps, allowing him to slide his tongue into her mouth. She kisses him rougher, grabbing the back of his neck to bring him closer. All she can hear is her heart.
Oh, and the police sirens.
"Aria!"
She turns to see her Dad.
"What the hell are you doing?"
Lydia quickly gets off of her car, "What are you doing here?" She says, her lips flush from Issac's kisses.
Her Dad holds up a small tracking device, "Stiles called me and said that he couldn't find you anywhere and that you weren't answering your phone. Now I can see why." He clears his throat, "Issac."
Issac pretends to tip an imaginary hat, "Mr. Stilinski."
"You tracked me?" Aria cries, outraged.
"Didn't have much of a choice, did I?" Her Dad throws the tracking device into his police car, he then walks over to her and says really quietly to her, "Best you be getting home now. Drive Issac straight home and if you linger for more than five minutes at that boy's house, you'll have me to answer to."
Aria's face flushes a bright red as she fixes her unkept hair, "Okay, Dad."
Her Dad gets back into his police car and drives away.
Aria puts her face in her hands, "Argh, I'm so sorry. And knowing you with your wolf-y powers, you heard every humilating word of that."
Issac pretends to zip his lips as he climbs into the car.
She gets back to her house in record time. Though Aria would never admit to her Dad that it's because of her speeding. She goes straight up to her room, only to see Derek Hale waiting.
"This is creepy, just in case you weren't aware of that already." Aria says, dropping her keys onto her desk. She takes off her jacket, "What do you want now?"
"I just wanted to warn you."
"Warn me or threaten me?"
"You're in much more danger than you think. The Alpha pack is still out there, and now they know they can get to Issac through you. So you have to be careful. We can't afford to have weak links right now." Derek says, he reaches into his back pocket, taking out a piece of paper, he hands it to her, "Here. You'll need this."
On the piece of paper there are numbers in scrawly handwriting, his phone number.
Aria looks up at him, "I dare say you're hitting on me."
Derek rolls his eyes, "Call it if you find yourself in danger." He turns to leave out the window.
"I'm out of your league anyways." Aria says with a smile, giving him a little wave as he drops from sight. She takes out her phone, punching in his number, instead of his name, it says, IN CASE YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE. She drops onto her bed, then her phone buzzes. She picks it up to see a text from Issac.
We definitely have to do that again sometime.
Aria chuckles, turning the phone off. She dozes off to sleep. She has dreams of gold eyes and Issac Lahey's lips.
She sits in her Chemistry class, pouring hydrochloric acid into a beaker, Lydia is happily talking beside her.
"This lab is so easy I think a two year old could manage it." Lydia delicately taps her finger against her chin, "So, Stiles told me your dad is super mad at you. Care to share?"
Aria grimaces, "He may or may not have tracked me and caught me kissing Issac."
"Kissing or making out?"
"More of the second one." Aria admits.
"You dirty girl!" Lydia shrieks with a smile.
Aria slips and pours the hydrochloric acid on herself, "Ah, son of a bitch!" She shouts, abruptly standing up.
Her teacher looks over at her, "Miss Stilinski, go to the bathroom and get that cleaned up. It'll burn and pucker, so stop by the nurses also?"
Aria nods, "Yeah, will do." She walks out of the classroom quickly, nursing her burning hand. She walks into the girls bathroom, running it under cold water. She immediately feels soothed. She stops by the nurses, gets bandaged up, and sent on her way. As she's walking back to her classroom, she notices someone following her. Two people, actually.
She glances over her shoulder to see Twins.
She takes out her phone to text Derek, so, there are twins following me? Is this a life or death situation? Or have I formed a crowd of admirers?
His response is swift, get out of there.
Aria takes his advice, altering her path so she walks out of the doors that leads to the Lacrosse field. They're still following her and she remembers some self defense advice she heard from her instructor.
Always talk to your attacker because they probably won't be so cool and confident especially when you've seen their face.
"Hey guys! Are you new here?" Aria asks, turning around with a smile on her face. "Are you lost? Do you need some help?"
One of the Twins speaks up first, "Not lost at all, you were who we were looking for."
Aria smiles, "Huh, weird, I don't think I've ever met you before, whatcha need? Dating advice? Fashion advice? The clever quip or two?" Her heart is beating wildly in her chest.
She then notices one of them has disappeared. Aria glances around wildly, but can't spot him. Then she's smashed to the ground by a growling monster. She glances up into the red eyes of a werewolf.
She kicks at him and the other Twin shouts.
"Grab her, Aiden! He wants to see her!" The Twin shouts.
Aiden, climbs off of her, snarling at her as a threat.
"Come with us and we won't have to hurt you."
"Fat chance of that happening." Derek Hale says, jumping in front of Aria, roaring.
"Ah Derek, looks like you finally made it." The Twin says with a smirk.
Aria glances at Derek, "This is what you were warning me about, huh?" She rasps.
"I've got it under control." Derek says softly.
"Uh-huh, sure you do." Aria says weakly.
She was doomed.
