This was something I was wanting to try my hand at for a while, is an MHA fanfiction. But not from the perspective of a student, but the perspective of a part-time hero and teacher. I'm not quite sure how well this story will be received but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I do not own MHA, Just the OC involved.
I hope you enjoy
Chapter 1: Fall from Grace
One would say that the void of stars were a hostile and unforgiving place for those that were unprepared, and they would be right. Space was not a place for the foolhardy to venture about carelessly, however those brave enough that did venture beyond the realm of their homeworld responsibly would find their endeavors rewarded.
For one exile, space was his hunting ground. Cast out, cut off, and scorned not for his abilities, skills and charisma… but the circumstances of his birth. Hated by the very people he called family, hated by the very couple he followed as his monarchs.
Taking up the hunting of the Sovereignty's criminals and most violent enemies, was a way for him to prove he still had purpose, that his questionable conception did not prevent him from performing his duties, for ex-Knight Commander and Prince Jona Halrand-Falx… the adventure of this particular hunt, was only beginning, as the world he was bound for was full of pain, its history written in blood, its people evolved to the point where chaos reigned for a time as extraordinary abilities started to manifest with in them.
These superpowers, referred to the people of earth as "Quirks" allowed them to perform extraordinary feats, develop mutations, as well as mystical and almost unthinkable abilities. Those that misused their abilities to commit unnecessary acts of violence and crime to get ahead, had the population cowering in fear.
But then the heroes appeared, individuals that use their quirks to fight crime, preserve the peace and protect the innocent.
For those looking for a place to hide it was perfect.
For someone like Jona it was both a nightmare of a search and a blessing in disguise as his chances of discovery were exponentially lower, or so he thought.

Jona Falx, Hunter Tac name: Cypher
Earth orbit.
Two and a half years before the events of UA high school.
Clad in a suit of fully pressurized armor, Jona made his way to a proper entry vector. His ethereal wings along with his suit's propulsion system propelled him from where he left his ship in orbit of the moon.
"Hunter Cypher, Operational Log entry: 001." he started to speak into the suit's communications system to file a log into the built in computer, "Target's last known position reached, standard class M planet, one moon. Signs of civilization in the stages of pre-planetary travel, or industrial spaceflight. Must proceed with caution, beginning the entry vector into the atmosphere."
Ending the log, he starts to execute a dive. Measuring the right angle for both minimal friction and to reduce exposure to any potential sensors in his mind, he was distracted long enough to completely miss the weather satellite that entered his view.
He couldn't avoid it, he was moving too fast as he slammed into the man-made spacecraft knocking him out, snuffing out his wings, shutting his suit down and causing him to ragdoll as he fell through the planet's atmosphere.
Throughout his freefall various memories were going though his mind… not many of them pleasant.
"You the biological son of our greatest enemy, and we cannot condone your existence, even if your mother is our daughter."
"Monster!"
"Traitor from birth!"
"You don't deserve anything!"
"You shouldn't even be allowed to hold a weapon let alone lead a unit! Darkoni half-breed scum."
"I'm sorry Jona… they're making me do this, I'm pregnant with your child as per their orders and I need to disappear, don't try to find me… I'm so sorry, please forgive me."
"For the Crime of your tainted blood, Your attempted bewitchment of your peers, you attempted sedition against the Sovereignty you are hereby exiled from from Royal Draken space and barred from any station or colony under its banner. In addition to this you are forbidden to procreate, if you are discovered to have violated this edict any family you create will be executed, your tainted filthy line will die with you!"
Pain… this what these memories were… his childhood with his grandparents, his military career, dealing with loyalists to his grandparent's ideals, even his relationships. His right to be a father was stripped from him without cause. But not all of his memories were painful.
"Master, you're the best."
"You've more than earned your station lad, don't let those old goats that are our monarchs tell you differently."
"We are so proud of you son."
"You can't let your family chart your course boy, the only way for you to move forward is to make your own path."
"You got this son! Just knuckle up and take the fight to them. Do you hear me KNUCKLE UP!"
"Do it Commander! Beat those Royal Guard bastards back in line, teach them never to mess with the 24th!
"Brothers and Sisters in arms! Today is a great and prestigious day! I, against the will of my 'betters' I am finally granting the honorable, humble, and noble, prince and warrior Jona Halrand-Falx the esteemed rank and title of Guardian Knight-Commander. Rise Commander greet and address your troops!"
"Your father and I will always love you Jona."
His mother and father, his former master, his apprentice, those that were loyal to him that served with him until the end… everyone that encouraged him to move forward until he was exiled. He missed his home, he missed his friends, and colleagues, he missed his mother and adoptive father, pretty much everyone that ever cared about him and loved him.
The unfortunate fact of the matter is, he was condemned to be alone and that pain… that agony would crush most under its unyielding weight. Jona however was not most, the pain angered him, the emotional turmoil steeled him for more, he wanted retribution for the crimes committed against him for something simply being born.
All he had was pain, and that pain kept him alive and fighting.
His red eyes snapped open as he came to, he was already seeing blue sky. He forced his bioelectrical impulses through the suit to bring it back online and regain control when he realized he was well off course, and to make things worse his airspeed was at terminal velocity for his species.
He started to manipulate his body to regain control of his direction and his wings reappeared, again once he got control of his fall, he noticed how serious his situation really was. He was flying right into the coast almost at supersonic speed with no real time to react. "Damn it! I can't stop in time!"
The draken threw his body around so his back was facing the coast, "I only got one chance…" arms and legs spread as well as his tail and wings fully extended to try and slow his speed by creating as much aerodynamic drag as he possibly could, while firing his suit's thrusters on full… "This is seriously going to hurt!" he voiced to himself before locking up his armor to prevent as much injury as he could.

Unnamed private beach.
It was the one evening she finally managed to sneak out, getting past the paparazzi who would normally try to get a picture of her. Clad in a gray hoodie and sweatpants with plain white sneakers, carrying a gym bag as she made her way to the train heading out of the city bound for the outer areas.
It was a rare day off for twenty-three year old Ryuko Tatsuma, The Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu. Something she rarely managed to get, and it was even rarer for her to manage to get out of her own apartment unnoticed. She didn't mind the attention, but it did get old after a while… especially the more perverted photographers attempting to get pictures of perceived or actual wardrobe malfunctions.
A lot of things could be said about Ryuko. She was beautiful, powerful, kind and gentle… until she was angered that is. She never let things like vanity, pettiness, or even greed interfere or define her as a hero. The issue is, she had also started to develop a bit of loneliness nearly bordering on depression as a result.
Her friends were fellow pros, she barely saw them since the life they chose hardly afforded them an opportunity at anything resembling a normal life, unless they got lucky or if they purposefully sought it out. She had to deal with people wanting her fame as a still rising hero or to just be with her because of her quirk, or even perverts that want her simply because of her human body.
Once on the beach she slipped off her sneakers, picking them up before stepping onto the sand, which was still warm from the day. She smiled as she enjoyed the feeling of the warm sand between her toes as she walked to a spot that was obscured by the rocks so if she heard anyone coming she could easily hide if she needed to, she didn't want her evening in the moonlight ruined by people flocking to her because she was recognizable.
She dressed down to a rather form fitting red and black one piece swimsuit that showed off her body modestly. As she puts her outfit away, she pulls out a beach towel and spreads it out before placing her gym bag as a makeshift pillow before laying back and looking towards the stars out to sea.
She was there for a good hour reflecting upon things, her life, her career, her lack of non-working relationships, and how her quirk has influenced AND interfered in her life. Before she started giving her hero work her full attention, it was brought to her attention that her quick had a drawback that would be extremely difficult. It was fairly depressing, so instead of just worrying about it to the point of madness she just put everything she had into her hero work.
Opening her eyes and looking back to the night sky she could see something shooting across the sky. 'A shooting star?' she thought as she watched the object streak through the twilight. Ryuko usually thought she would have outgrown childish notions like wishes being granted by falling stars, though this one time she decided to just do it… if anything to make her feel a little better.
'I wish… for a husband that would love me for who I am… and what I am under the skin, a husband that would never use or abuse me in any way to boost their own standing, and a husband that could someday allow me to have children of my own. Someone to be with me, through thick and thin… hero or no.'
She blinked and the falling start started to change course, gradually at first, then it started to appear to be coming right at her, 'Oh great… I'm going to die.' she thought with a bit of a deadpan expression as she sat up accepting her fate as the object suddenly slowed down and slammed into the nearby rocks, throwing sand, stone and all sorts of debris into the air. Ryuko turned her back and curled into a ball covering her head to protect herself from flying objects.
Once the dust and everything settled, Ryuko had noticed something. That meteor hit with far less destructive force than it should have. Disregarding her own safety-and state of dress, the off-duty hero ran over to the crater to see what the object was that came falling down. She was not prepared for what she found.
An armored Semi-humanmoid presumably male reptilian figure lay in the center, on its back, the visor of its helmet cracked and she could see the wearer's face or at least one eye, which was half open and obviously in a fair amount of pain. Though she was trying to figure out how he was even alive, falling like that would have killed mostly anything.
'I know I wished for a man…' Ryuko thought to herself as she pulled his helmet off of his head to try and assess whether or not he may have had a concussion. His crimson red eyes fluttered open and she could see his slitted pupils were equal and reacting to the little light there was, 'Even though he looks quite dashing, this isn't what I meant.'
"Hang in there big guy, we'll get you someplace safe." the Dragoon Hero assured him, in a kind and even tone. And even though he couldn't understand her at that moment, could feel her gentle energy and just nodded as she dashed back to her phone.
Once she grabbed it out of her bag she froze, not knowing entirely what to do. Who did she call in a situation like this? The JSDF? No, they'd put a couple of rounds in him once they realize he's from space… Humanity's first gut reaction at something new is to kill it. The Japanese government? No, they'd strip him of his armor for reverse engineering and technological advancement while slowly killing him in a lab to learn what makes him tick… to hell with that. Other Pros? No, because most of them answer to the government.
"Graahhh, this is so frustrating!" she roared out trying to figure out a way to deal with this problem without getting the falling space reptile murdered. She became a hero to save people not condemn them, she didn't want his death on her conscience. "Why is this so hard? I thought trying to find a date for the highschool dance was impossible…"
It then came to her, she looked up U.A. High School's number, the staff there were close knit and they had substantial funding to look after this guy and learn about him without him being gutted for his trouble. Taking a breath she dialed the number, "Hello, This U.A? I'm Ryuko Tatsuma, Code Name: Ryukyu… I need to speak to Principal Nezu. It's rather urgent."
The line clicked quietly for a moment, before an oddly cheerful voice came on the line, "Nezu here, how may I be of assistance to you Ms. Tatsuma?"
"I don't even know where to begin Mr. Nezu, There has been an Incident at my location." She started to explain occasionally looking at the crater the new arrival was still in, "I'm not on-duty, but this situation… saying it's unusual would be a massive understatement." something that she just now noticed she was doing, was shaking, not from cold, but the crash from the sudden adrenaline rush from the near death experience. The traveler could have easily landed on her and turned her into a red paste quirk or not.
"Take a deep breath Ms. Tatsuma, What can U.A. do for you? How can we help?"
She did just that, took a couple of deep breaths before speaking again, "I need you along with a couple of teachers to come to my location discreetly… might want to bring a flatbed truck and Power Loader with his rig along… this guy looks heavy, even for me."
"I think I can pull…" the quirked animal's thought process suddenly halted which was extremely rare given his nearly inhuman intellect, "I'm sorry, did you say 'This guy' Ms. Tatsuma?"
"Yes I did." Ryuko confirmed sheepishly as she looked to the stars, "As I said, I have no idea where to begin. He just… fell from the sky like a meteor."
"We're on our way, please hold your position until we arrive."
She looked back to the crater once again before replying, "Don't worry Mr. Nezu, I'm not going anywhere." as she hung up the phone, and took a breath.
—
It didn't take long but help arrived in the form of a large box truck pulling up onto the beach, with Nezu jumping out of the cab, while Higari Maijima, or rather Power Loader and his mech gear, tromping out of the back of it. "Alright, where is this thing?" The Excavation hero growled out in annoyance, as the Support course's main teacher, dealing with or working with heavy equipment was more or less his specialty.
"Over there in the crater." Ryuko directed the mech operating hero, "Be careful he's not in the best shape."
"Yea, yea…" he stomped off to assist with moving whatever the dragoon hero needed to move, ignoring the fact that she used the word 'he' when referencing the occupant of the crater.
Nezu on the other hand waddled over to speak with Ryuko. "So tell me what this is about ." the quirked animal requested his eyes looking up at her as she leaned against the truck.
"He fell from the sky, I honestly thought he was a falling meteor. At first he did honestly look like one and from the level of heat and velocity he reached before he changed course and slammed into the ground." Ryuko started to explain to him, "I seriously don't think he's from around here, from earth I mean, and I think he's quirked. No living being can survive an impact like that."
"We'll get him back to U.A. and make sure that he's comfortable and secure." The High Spec hero said cheerfully, "We need to make sure his existence is kept secret, the chaos that this could bring if this knowledge was made public too soon would be as bad if not worse than the appearance of the first quirks."
"That might not be the only thing." Higari shouted out. Getting Nezu's attention prompted the principal and the dragoon hero to the edge of the crater, "I think girly here is right, he's not from here. That Gear is WAY too advanced to be something any of the support companies on any continent have produced, a suit that can survive savage temperatures and friction then, even to be able to FUNCTION post reentry without frying the soul inside it, is not a level of tech we've even begun to mess with."
Nezu wasn't liking what he was hearing, it only added to his concern, "Are you sure Mr. Maijima?"
"Wouldn't have said anything if I wasn't." carefully, Power Loader used his mech's claws to lift the traveler-who had since lost consciousness- from the crater and swiftly moved him to the truck loading up in such a way that his rig's back was to the door to facilitate unloading and discretion if needed. "I'll stay back here with the big guy, he's out like a light, so his body is probably starting to recover from the shock of the impact."
Ryuko picked up the helmet she helped remove earlier, stuffing it into her gym bag after getting dressed again got into the truck's cab as Nezu hopped into the modified driver seat and took a sip from a thermos he brought with him.
"He's lucky you found him first, you know." the quirked animal reminded as he started the truck and started to ease it off the beach and on to the road.

The next day.
This mission was not going too well, not only did he slam into an unmanned spacecraft on the way down, pretty much announced himself to the world by cratering on a beach. Now he was waking up in someplace clean, but not too clean as he can see equipment on the walls
'Not a lab, or even a medical ward but a workshop.' Jona observed as his half closed eyes scanned the workshop for any clues or individuals. He was about to try something until he realized he was restrained and chained to a hard surface, specifically an angled work table. His face contorted a little bit in annoyance, 'Not the best way to start a potential working relationship… can't blame them though I am unknown to them.'
"You're awake finally!" A gruff voice came from the door, as a shirtless man walked had walked in, with excavator bucket claws for finger tips, and a rather large one on the top of his head obscuring his face, "We tried to get that armor off of you to check you out, but that's one tough shell you got there we couldn't even scratch it with the tools we got here." he kept going on, and from the sounds of it, it's the most he's ever spoken at one time.
Unbeknownst to the hero, the more he spoke the more the translator program in his armor worked to learn the language. So in a way, the more the hero unintentionally monologged the more the system had to work with.
"I would prefer that you didn't TRY to cut my armor off." a voice came from Jona's armor, it was slightly digitized but it was indeed his own voice just projecting through the small speakers in the armor's collar.
The sudden speech from the reptile he dug out of a hole last night, nearly caused the excavation hero to jump out of his skin. "What the hell!? You can talk? When!?" The barrage was not intentional, but his concern and skepticism was warranted.
"I got a few clips from last night… when you dug me out." he explained as he started to move and trying to stretch, despite being restrained, "The rest just now when you started to monologue."
After a moment, Jona assumed the construction gear wearing hero was staring or possibly mentally pouting at him since he didn't say anything at first. "I was not monologuing…" the man muttered.
Shrugging his indifference he relaxed back, "Can I be unchained? Or is that something your superior has to clear you for?"
"Uhh, yea let me call Principal Nezu." Power loader stepped away from the table towards his desk.
The drake switched off his speakers for now, the fact he was even moving, or his suit even functioning meant his Neruo-RIG was still functional… Although if the RIG did get damaged or if Paragons' forbid deformed to the point where it penetrated his spine paralyzing him, things would have gotten way more complicated than they needed to be.
It only took moments for the quirked animal to arrive, "Nice to see you awake. It's not often we get visitors from another continent, let alone another world." He said cheerfully as he got up on the work table, "It would have been a shame if you perished before we didn't get a chance to know you."
The words translated through the system, the cheerfulness of his words and the phrasing unnerved Jona a little bit but ultimately he could feel the intelligence radiating off this walking and talking animal. "Yes. It would be a shame."
"Oh so you can speak the local language." Nezu surmised as he watched Jona's armored form carefully, "You're not speaking through your mouth? Why is that? Are you using a Universal translator system to communicate with us?"
If it was a time to be at a loss for words this was it then. Jona blinked as he bounced back, "That's quite astute of you." he really couldn't do anything but acknowledge that fact, "At the moment I'm unable to speak the language due to me not physically being able to speak it presently, I would have to actually learn it for me to even use it orally."
The rat/bear/dog Chimera smiled as he got a little giddy, "Please forgive my rudeness, I am Nezu. Principle of the prestigious U.A. high school, the school who's workshop you currently resided in, I'm also its primary investor." his tone held no signs of subtle arrogance, only righteous pride, with it U.A. being a school no better place to invest funds than into future generations, "Might I ask what your name is Traveler?"
The loops kept coming as Jona, yet again had to process a moment before he could speak, "Jona Falx, I also go by the Bounty Hunting Alias: Cypher. Although considering the state of everything on this world I surmise that the latter wouldn't matter too much, as outside of my original target I have no Jurisdiction here."
"A bounty hunter that believes in and respects jurisdictions?" Higari butted in slightly skeptical, "That's a new one."
"Indeed, it would be unheard of if he was from Earth." Nezu voiced his agreement as he turned to Power loader, "However since he is an offworlder, things may be different out in the void. Which brings up another issue." he turns back to Jona, "If people were to learn about your true origins there will be an uproar so I would like to make you an offer Mr. Falx, depending on the answer.
"Ask away."
"What do you specialize in, what is your primary profession, as well as your following skill set?"
"Stellar systems engineer, master level." Was Jona's response to the principal's initial question before he continued, "Ground combat engineering, journeyman rifleman, master spacer, former Royal space marine, presently a master ranked bounty hunter… Principle Nezu, if you have me list my entire life and certifications… we'll be here all day."
Higari, who was previously sitting on a stool at his work bench, swiftly stood up, "You're a former soldier?" the words came out of his with slightly more acid than what the hero intended.
"Yes, though to be fair, I prefer building things to destroying them." Jona shrugged a bit before sighing, "I was pressed into service due to some… family issues."
Something Nezu noticed about the drake, something was more or less a constant. Jona never once lied, he never hid his qualifications, the fact he was an offworlder, nothing. "You're kind values transparency don't they Mr. Falx?"
"The only one's we're remotely dishonest to are our intended targets." While the answer was a bit unnerving it was indeed the truth. "Truth, Justice, Prosperity, Creativity, and Wisdom are our governing principles, the tenets in which we live by.
"Even when in this case it could cause untold chaos?"
"This case would be the rare exception to the rule, a logical and necessary deception to shroud the truth for the greater good of the many to preserve peace even in times of uncertainty."
"Fucking hell, now he sounds like Aizawa." Higari smacked his bucket helmet with his clawed hand with a 'gong', instantly regretting it, "Ow…"
"Language, Mr. Maijima." Nezu lightly schooled his teacher, "Do you think you have what it takes to be a hero, and a teacher? Because if you believe you do, I think we could use your help here at U.A. to mold the next generation of heroes and great minds?"
Jona relaxed back and thought for what seemed to be several moments before Nezu spoke up again, "If you feel as if you need a moment…"
"On one condition."
"Please name it."
The drake leaned up and locked eyes with the quirked animal, "I want you to put me through the ringer, put me through hell, burn me, crush me, try your hardest to break me." with each word Jona spoke, Nezu's smile got wider to the point of appearing like a manic grin, "Because Mr. Nezu I will accept your offer… but I want to earn it."
The principal hopped off the table, "I'm delighted to hear that, We'll get you loose and get you settled, we have a lot of work to do in order to make sure you are blending in with us properly!"
And with that, a warrior's conversion to a hero and teacher had officially begun.

Just to clarify something here, Jona's presence in UA's future is pretty much supporting. I'm going to write him as a support type hero, as well as a support course instructor, who occasionally assists in combat and rescue classes.
Because lets face it, Powerloader needs some help, (Mei Hatsume is more than a handful… and she might just be a bit worse in this story), and UA could always use more teachers, You don't see the homerooms teachers for Gen-studies, Support(Powerloader being the possible exception.) and Business courses
Another clarification, I'm only familiar with the events of the Anime at this point, and will search out the Manga to broaden my sense of scope of the story.
Questions for any viewers:
Who would you want for pairings among the students? (even pairings like Izuku and Ippan Josei I would just have to bring her in earlier)
How should the classes be arranged? (Please be reasonable about it XD)
And this one is relevant to the next chapter, Who should be part of Jona's informal/unofficial hero licensing exam? Should it just be the staff? Or should we throw Jona to the wolves and give him pros to deal with?
Please answer in your reviews. I would like to hear your feedback.
Also I'm looking for a Co-writer for this story, I'm kind of a weak writer on my own.
