Prologue
A guttural, maniacal laughter erupts from her as she points her pride Gianduja at the immortal's face. Her laughter is instantly replaced by the explosive sound of thousands of bullets. The recoil pushes her back, pulling her body away from the arm that had impaled her stomach, but she isn't done yet. Not a speck of dust should remain from a point blank shower of Hype-enhanced bullets, but Coco knew better. She gnashes her teeth and, using all of her remaining strength, angles the nozzle down and fires another round to completely obliterate the rest of Her remains.
The footing beneath her crumbles and she begins to fall.
The last of her Aura has been used up.
Gianduja's barrel clicks empty.
Coco's hand slowly slackens as she falls farther and farther away from the center of all the madness and chaos. Her gatling gun falls fast past her. If she could give it a final salute, she would, but it was all she could do to keep her eyes open long enough to catch a glimpse of her handiwork. It's fine. She's confident that she bought everyone a bit more time. Besides, Velvet needs her. Coco would love to reflect on the perfect execution of her strategy and the pure bliss she felt wiping off the smug look off of that witch's freakishly pale face, literally, but she focuses her mind on Velvet instead. And, inevitably, Starr.
Two people she loved in a way she never thought she could be capable of loving. Her hand twitches, remembering the strong, brave but tired Starr. Coco is certain that wherever Starr is, she would be laughing with her at the lunacy of this world. Fox sure would be. Yatsu would look confused and Velvet would be rolling her eyes. Then she would tell Coco not to worry with that infallible determination of hers. Now, Coco has no choice but to believe in her.
Wait for me, Velv… I'll be there soon.
Coco gives in to the white blankness that envelopes her, filling her vision, her body and her soul…
