~Chapter 2~
Zoro didn't remember much of the hours in the early morning when he was slightly woken up for a brief movement, but he did remember seeing the cook collapsed on the side next to Zoro and pass out as soon as his head hit the pillow.
"Zoro"
Opening his one eye, Zoro glanced over at the other man. The sun`s rays creeping from the curtain made the mans pale skin glow and his now short hair blinding. Zoro`s arm covered his eyes quickly, due to all the light.
"What?"
Sanji rubbed his arm nervously, pushing up the baggy t-shirt sleeve. "D-do you think I should go back to the crew dress..."
"Like a girl?" Zoro said bluntly as he looked off and blinked a little to adjust his eyes. "If you really want to, go for it." Sanji looked down to his lap quietly.
"But what about Nami?"
Zoro frowned. Sanji was trying not to show it, but it was clearly visible. He had finally realized how tricky and ruthless Nami could be. Something that Zoro had been trying to tell the cook for sometime now. But the cook had learned the hard way. A very, very hard way.
"Fuck her," Zoro said batting his hand in the air and he pressed his face into the pillow even further. "If she really has a problem with you, she can get the hell of the ship."
This answer seemed to trouble Sanji even more as he got up and started to get ready. Zoro finally came to the conclusion that it was up to Sanji if he wanted to forgive Nami or not. All he could really do is give Sanji his opinion. He watched as Sanji began to get ready, but much slower than last night. He seemed to be thinking about what his next move would be. He frowned, sighed, frowned again and continued this pattern throughout the morning. Zoro closed his eyes, and began to meditate, waiting for the cook to get finished.
"I`m ready."
Zoro got up from the bed and turned around to see Sanji dressed in a floor length, ocean blue sundress. Instead of long hair, he now had short, curly hair. The only makeup he had on was mascara, lip gloss, and eye shadow. Zoro felt the sudden urge to call the man cute, but thought against it. Sanji turned around a bit, looking at himself in the mirror.
"Is it good? It`s not to much is it?" he said nervously, biting his lip.
Zoro rolled his eyes. "You look fine. Now come on shit-cook, I`m fucking hungry."
Sanji pouted while flicking him off and began to gather all of his stuff. Holding the box full of whatever the hell he had in there he began making his way to the door. Zoro, just because he was bored and want to rile the cook up, made a show of leaping to the door and swung it open so forcefully that he might have spilt it a little in the middle. He bowed down unnecessarily low.
"Ladies first."
Sanji`s foot collided with Zoro`s sword pushing him back a little. Sanji looked mad as hell, but calmed down seconds afterwards. He huffed and began walking down the stairs of the hotel. Zoro closed the door and quickly followed him before he got lost. Again. While following Sanji, Zoro heard the man cussing underneath his breath violently. Zoro rolled his eyes. Drama queen. They made their way to the lobby where they checked out and made their way out of the hotel. Zoro wasn't sure if Sanji had noticed our not, but the cheery blonde at the desk kept on wiggling her eyebrows at the both of them while they were leaving. Zoro was also pretty sure that she also gave them a small thumbs up when they walked out. The walked silently among the crowded streets. Sanji had lit himself a cigarette, and was looking very peaceful and happy with his self. Something Zoro noticed was that almost everyone was looking at the cook. Some with lust, others admiring, and many with jealousy. It seemed like Sanji had finally accepted himself. He walked with confidence. He either didn't notice everyone looking at him, or just choose to ignore them. Zoro felt proud of him a little. Sanji caught Zoro looking at him and smirked at him.
"Like what you see shitty-swordsman?" Zoro felt his cheeks warm up a little as he rolled his eyes and sharply turned his face.
"You wish curly-brow." The swordsman grunted out. Sanji laughed softly.
Sanji`s P.O.V
Sanji stubbed out the cigarette using a stone and continued guiding Zoro and his self to Sunny. Sanji was given a lot of time to think about what he should do. He felt better know for sure that the crew did care about how he dressed and carried his self. He should have known already that they wouldn't mind, but you can't be sure. He sure as hell didn't expect Nami to react like that. Sanji was taught to always forgive a women`s lie. He had been lied to a lot before, but none of them where that serious. Was something like this suppose to be excused? Was Sanji really going to forgive her behavior? When she fucking promised that she wasn't going to tell and she did anyway? It`s not that Sanji cared that she told them, he was over that, mainly because he had a feeling that it was going to come out anyway. But just the whole fact that she told them anyway was what bothers him. It made him feel betrayed. Like he couldn't trust her with a secret. The names that she called him too. Faggot…. Sanji had experienced people calling him those kinds of names before, but when it came out of Nami`s mouth, it was just about ten times worst. It felt like he was continuously getting stabbed. He wondered how long Nami was going to be confined to her cabin….
Sanji had probably been thinking a little too much because he didn't even realize that they had made it to the dock. Zoro had already made his way on the Sunny and was waiting for him to board on as well. Sanji began walking to Sunny when he froze and actually took in the situation.
He was about to go, dressed like this….
To the crew?
What the hell had he been thinking?!
In the Galley-Usopp`s P.O.V
Usopp never knew that the galley could be so quiet. It looked like it was going to stay quiet too, seeing as though nobody was up for making a conversation. The room was filled with only the sound of clinking silverware and glasses. Since Sanji wasn't on the Sunny this morning, Franky and Robin offered to make breakfast. It turned out to pretty good actually. Not as good as Sanji, but they could all tell that the cyborg and archaeologists had put much effort into the meal. As a matter of fact, the two of them seemed to become the unofficial parents of the Strawhats throughout this whole ordeal. They had talked to Chopper for hours after the argument in the kitchen, also making sure to do so with Luffy. They even tried to talk to Nami, but…. It almost ended up in another argument, so they left the navigator alone. Usopp began to wonder if this was how the crew behaved like when he and Luffy got into that big argument. Usopp continued to play around with his food, an action that would have gotten him kicked in the head if Sanji where there. He wondered what the man was doing-
"Put me down!" Everyone turned towards the door. Was that…
"Calm down dammit!" They heard Zoro grunt.
"Stop!" Sanji voice pleaded. "I don't want them to see me like this, you bastard!"
"To damn bad!" Zoro yelled and slammed the door open. Sanji was tossed over his shoulders comically, and refused to make eye-contact with anyone. Zoro calmly tried to seat Sanji in a chair, but somehow Sanji ended up on the floor. He kept his head down, as if he was accepting his fate. It was already obvious to everyone that Sanji wasn't in his…..normal attire, but it didn't really bother any of us. Sanji looked up shyly at us. He looked so innocent and embarrassed. Franky gave Sanji a thumbs up as he grinned.
"You look suppeerr pretty, Sanji-bro!"
Sanji blushed in embarrassment and turned his head to the side. That's when all the compliments came crashing down on him.
"You look absolutely stunning cook-san. Nice and simple."
"That dress is really pretty Sanji!"
"Your hair looks great too!"
"Yohohohohoho~ May I see your panties?"
Everyone laughed at Brook`s little comment. The sniper felt the ship`s atmosphere get warmer and more lively after that. Sanji stood up, and brushed some of his hair behind his ear as he gingerly sat down in his seat. Franky made his plate and had offered it to the cook, who accepted it. He took a bit and hummed.
"Who made this?"
Robin gestured to Franky and herself. "We did cook-san. What do you think?"
"It`s really good." Sanji smiled. Sanji glanced over at Zoro and saw the swordsman smiling at him. They had some sort of short telepathic conversation going on between themselves long enough for the rest of the crew to look and smile. Usopp smirked to himself. Wonder what their thinking about. The day continued on normally enough. Sanji had completely avoided going near the girl's room, but that was it. Sanji looked like he felt more free and happy around the crew. More alive. Usopp later observed Sanji laughing quietly with Robin as the observed the boys goof was weird not seeing Sanji run around catering to the girls every need. But at least the cook was now enjoying himself, and that`s what really mattered. Usopp waved as he passed them and made his way down to his workshop.
Zoro`s P.O.V
Zoro glanced over everyone at the table. They were talking, but they weren`t as lively as they should be. It`s like they were trying to fill a gap in it all. The laughter, conversations, everything. Zoro quickly stood up from his seat and slammed his hands on the table, effectively silencing everyone.
"It`s been at least a week and a half. Why isn't Nami here?!" he roared. Nobody looked like they were going to say anything till Franky spoke up.
"She`s been off punishment since last Thursday." He said quietly, before taking a gulp of his cola. "I tried to get her out of her room, but she won't come out."
Zoro pushed away from the table and started making his way to the door. "She`s coming out today, whether she likes it, or not."
The door slammed as he made his was on the grass-covered deck and to the girl's room. Honestly this was just ridiculous. He walked up to the door handle and grabbed it furiously only to find it locked. He tried a gentler approach and knocked his fist on the door gently.
"Nami, open the-"
"Leave me the fuck alone."
Zoro had never bust through a door so quick in his life. He could hear Franky groan in frustration from the galley. He would fix the door later. What was more important was getting the navigator. He only remembered being in the girl's room at least twice, so he didn't remember how it looked like. It was tidy, and organized. He could barely see the design of the room however, because the lights were off. This also meant that he could barely find Nami. He glanced around a little while longer and found Nami simply sitting in a chair in the far end of the room, her back facing him. Without a second thought he grabbed her by her waist and slung her over his shoulders. Surprisingly, despite her words before, she didn't make any move to escape. She lay limply on his shoulders as he walked back into the galley. He sat her down in her usual seat carefully. Zoro sat down in his seat and crossed his arms.
"Now that you have had a couple days to sit in your room and sulk, what do you have to say?"
Nami was quiet. Looking at her, you could tell how out of it she was. Her hair was a hot ass mess, her skin a bit ghostly pale from being in the dark for so long. Her eyes were puffy from crying and overall she looked lifeless. You could see it in her eyes. Those shining brown eyes were remorseful, and bleak. Sanji, who was dress in his suit that day, looked over at the navigator.
"Nami-swan? Are you ok?"
They all heard a sniff which came from Nami. Water in her eyes was building up rapidly as she tried to blink them away. Sanji walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.
"What`s wrong Nami-san?"
She gulped. "The fact…. that you're worrying about me, after all of this?! After I called you all those names and told the crew when you asked me not to?" A sputtering gasp left her mouth as she tried to collect herself. "How?!" She stood up and began pounding on his chest angrily. Sanji didn't seem bothered.
"YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO BE ASKING ME AM I OK! YOUR SUPPOSE TO BE YELLING AT ME AND CALLING ME A BITCH-"
"Nami, calm-"Franky started.
"NO!" she yelled, turning now to face the entire crew. "THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU TOO! HOW THE HELL DO YOU GUYS PUT UP WITH ME!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. Her tears flowed down her cheeks swiftly and she made no attempt to wipe them off. She lowered her head and balled up her fist in self anger. "I don't deserve any of you guys…"she said bitterly. The sound of shuffling filled the room as she looked up to see the crew surrounding her. Smiling. Some crying, but still smiling.
"I`m sorry guys…"
Luffy walked up to her and placed his straw hat on her head gently, before giving her a kiss on the cheek. She blushed. "Thank you captain." He laughed.
"Glad I have my navigator back." he said ruffling her hair. She looked down at Chopper, who had tugged on her dress. She immediately brought him into a big hug and gave him a big kiss on his forehead, which made him giggle loudly. "Love you Nami!"
"Me too, Chopper, me too."
Zoro walked up to her and gently placed his hand on her shoulder as a sign that all was good, and was about to leave when she pulled him into a hug that was ultimately unavoidable.
"Thank you…"
He patted her back for good measure. "Yeah, yeah."
He sat back with Luffy and watches her along with the rest of the crew. She and Robin had a moment seeing as though they have a special girl bond. Nami`s interactions with Franky was comical as they watched their already emotionally broken down cyborg hug their navigator with such love, a loud 'I LOVE YOU GURL!' coming from their shipwright. Usopp and Brook hugged their navigator with glee and stepped back as the cook and navigator faced each other. Sanji walked up to her and opened his arms out wide to receive her hug. She calming walked into his embraced and they stayed their for a good 5 minutes. She was constantly mumbling 'sorry' as he returned comments by saying 'it alright'.
Zoro smiled and closed his eyes. Yep, everything was going to be alright.
Sanji`s P.O.V
After the crew had left the galley, Sanji sat back and enjoyed a cup a coffee to his self. The warm beverage left the room smelling of vanilla and made Sanji breathe out in satisfaction. He sat down on the table and sighed to his self. Although he felt at peace, he was bored as hell. The crew had told him just to relax and take it easy for the rest of the day even though there was nothing wrong with him. A pale finger traced the handle of the coffee mug slowly in thought. He didn't really know what to do….
Sanji they brightened up at an idea that came to mind. He could talk to the girls! He got up and walked over the counter where he saw his den-den mushi. He quickly put in the number and waited patiently for a replying. Fifi picked up.
"Hey gurl!"
Sanji smiled. "Hey boo. What are you up to?"
"Watching Michael go off on Veronica."
Sanji jerked sharply and made a face. "Veronica!?"
"Gurl yes!"
"What the hell happened?"
"Gurrlll." Fifi drew out. "From what I was told, this bitch Veronica been talking been talking shit about Michael all damn week, gurl. So, like 20 minutes ago Michael, Kylie and I walked up to the bitch at the mall and basically we was like, 'we heard you been talking shit'. Michael been going off on her ever since." Sanji frowned as he could clearly hear Michael cussing till she was out of breath.
"I don't know how…" Fifi sucked in her teeth sharply "Oh shit! They just started fighting! Kylie got into it with one of Veronica`s friends too!"
"Don't just sit there! Record that shit!" Sanji yelled.
"Bitch hold on, I got you." Sanji waited patiently as he could as he hears more destruction and chaos unfold through the phone. There was a loud ass crash and then everything seemed to settle down.
"Bitch if I here you talking shit about me again, I`ll fucking kick in your caked-up ass face. Don`t try me." Sanji heard Michael snap. Sanji started laughing and Michael snapped again.
"Who the fuck laughing at me?!"
"Chill boo," Sanji replied wiping a tear away. "It`s just moi."
Michael sighed. "Hey girl."
"You sound tired."
"Yea, kicking ass is tiring."
Sanji rolled his eyes. He could relate. "You alright boo?"
"Yea, I`m good.
"Well, I just called to check up on you guys, that's all. I`ll talk to you guys later. Love you."
The girls giggled. "Love you too, Sanji."
After Sanji hanged up, he walked outside onto the deck to smoke. Glancing down at the dock, he saw a familiar figure standing there. Sanji suddenly felt a flash of fear run through him as he saw the figure make eye contact with him and smile. The man then turned around and walked away, quietly unseen. Sanji then flicked his cigarette into the ocean, suddenly feeling to sick to enjoy it.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter! R&R! I also wanna say one thing: I do not hate Nami. I started writing this around the time I first started watching One Piece, and Nami just got on my nerves in the beginning because of how she acted. Iv`e grown to love her though, so its all good :)
