And so, to celebrate this day, a little story with new year as theme! Enjoy!
The snow slowly fell outside of the warm houses, but for the moment, no one, not even children, paid it attention. Actually, everyone was happily sitting at the table in their houses with their friends and family, waiting patiently for the New Year to come. All around the city cheers were being said repeatedly, people celebrating the end of one year and the start of another.
"Kaito, I need help here!" One woman stated a little annoyed in the kitchen, busy with food and the dishes. Soon it would be New Year and she still hadn´t managed to exit the kitchen. Not that it was her fault, since the oven malfunctioned for some reason at the last minute and she had had to bring the turkey to Hakase´s and start over, but the truth was that she was feed up with everything already. "Kuroba Kaito! Get your ass here this instance, or else I don´t promise you you´ll live till the next year!"
As if on cue, a messy haired young man appeared right away, his cheeks a little bit red from all the drinking. Thanks god he managed to hold his liquor, or else he would have passed out already. Who knew Hattori Heiji drunk so much? Damn, that man wasn´t human...
"Sorry, sorry, you need help with?" The blue eyes woman sighed in annoyance, pushing into his free hands plates, plates and plates. She knew he could deliver them safely, so no need to worry about that. "Understood... Hurry up, Shin, the time is near."
The blue eyes woman sighed once again staring at the stupid turkey with hate. It was all that annoying things fault. If only she never bought it, she wouldn´t have lost so much time... Preparing the turkey, its filling, the side dishes... Stupid, idiot turkey. "Next year I won´t do a thing... Ran can handle this by her own." Sighing one again, Shinichi lifted the stupidly big turkey, careful not to let it drop.
"Here we go!" Entering the living room of the Kudo mansion, which was already filled with people, some of them half passed out for some reason, she smiled. Who knew she would be spending the New Year with so many people... The last time it was only Ran, her family and she. She had not dislike that kind of party, but even so, she had wished to have one with many, many people one day. And that day, her wish was fulfilled. You could see Hakuba with Aoko, Ran, Hondo, Sonoko, Makoto, Haibara, Hakase, Akako, Kaito…
"Turkey is here!" Shinichi stated, depositing it at the table and sitting down tried next to her boyfriend, or more like fiancé, while looking at the clock. Two more minutes. It was then that she noticed that Hakuba was really out of it. "Who was the idiot that purred Hakuba sake?" The Western detective shrugged but said nothing, not wanting to receive the eastern detective´s anger. He hoped to end the year without any serious injuries. "Someone wake him up. Just one minute left."
The smiles all around the room made her smile too, not that she was excited about the New Year. It was just one more year… but then, as Kaito grabbed her hand, she corrected herself. No, it wasn´t just another year… That year she would marry Kaito, start her family and finally become the detective she had dreamed of being. No one would be able to ignore her anymore, saying she was just a kid.
"Are you ready for one more year?" Kaito whispered into her ear, holding his glass of champagne. "Because I just cannot wait until it comes." Rolling her eyes, Shinichi and everyone else stood up, starting to count the seconds.
"Five!" Everyone yelled excited, the voices of people melting all around the country into one. "Four!" Just some more seconds… "Three!" The windows were wide opened, as people hopped to see some fireworks. "Two!" Kaito squeezed Shinichi´s hand even more, not letting her go. "ONE!"
All of sudden, fireworks went out, people yelled in happiness and confusion and cheers were hear all around the city! "HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
As everyone celebrated, Shinichi´s attention was suddenly diverted from the fireworks because of a certain man right next to her… who took her glass away and kissed her deeply, holding her close to him. At first, she did nothing, so surprised she was, but before long, she happily contributed to the kiss.
That is, until certain voices were heard…
"Oh, look at those love birds kissing..." Jumping back surprised and blushing madly, Shinichi locked her eyes on Hakuba, storming towards him and hit it without thinking twice, completely settled on ignoring any other remarks. The drunk man collapsed to the floor and went to sleep, that is after mumbling one more time happy new year.
And the party went live again, people drinking, talking and celebrating. Aoko didn´t even mind the fact someone hit her husband, so out of it as the man himself. The owner of the house thanked her parents for the first time for buying such a big house… after all, where else would she be able to put all those people to sleep? She honestly doubted any of them would be in condition to drive back by themselves.
The time passed quickly and yet slowly at the same time, as everyone enjoyed themselves. At one point Shinichi had forced herself to leave the room, so embarrassed she was. Who in their perfect mind would start discussing… of wait, they weren´t in their mind. Too much sake…
"A lively party no?" Kaito appeared out of nowhere, hugging the startled girl from behind. "I wish all our parties can be as loudly as this one… remind me to invite Hattori the next time. He sure knows how to annoy Hakuba."
Smiling, Shinichi relaxed. "Yes, I don´t mind this kind of parties. So, did you decide on you New Year resolutions already?" The man in question smiled and nodded, kissed her neck.
"But of course I did, my beautiful lady." She rolled her eyes, deciding it was time to come back. However, he kept her still, whispering into her ear. "My resolution is you. I will make sure you don´t run away from me, Shin-chan."
The blue eyes woman blushed a little bit and tried to hit him, but that idiot magician was already gone, joining Hattori. Allowing her face to return to its usual temperature, she mumbled softly as she walked back. "I was the one who caught you, thief-san. And I don´t plan on ever letting go."

Thanks for putting up with me all this time. I know I can be strange sometimes, or maybe always, and I really appreciate the fact you stop to read those little and every other stories I put here. :) We still don´t know what 2014 has stored for us, but when the times comes, I know we all will be able to overcome any problem that appears before us. In case someone ever needs someone to talk with, or school stuff you don´t understand, I will always be here to help. Even if it means researching this I never studied before. Muahahah And here is the crazy Kaggami back...
Anyway, let´s live this New Year with pride and happiness. And in my case, some laziness! *claps* Thank you, thank you. XD
