A/N: Hello everyone! Sorry for being away for so long, but my personal and school life had been going... badly. So, to rediem myself, a new chapter! I decided to short out my notebooks, and realized I have many little stories I started to write when I was bored... and decided to finish them. This one is the first one, and I still have many more... Enjoy!

Once upon a time

Once upon a time, in a faraway country, or more like kingdom, lived a princess names Shinichi. Everyone liked her thanks to her beauty, intelligence and kind nature. Her long raven hair, along with the sharp sapphire eyes often bewitched both women and men. However, this princess had a secret… At night, when the moon became full and filled with power, the princess transformed into… and cat!

"Cat? Oi, oi, Kid, what there…" A child suddenly interrupted the narrator, looking at the while cladded thief with confused eyes. "Why… why a cat?"

Frowning, annoyed he was interrupted, Kid put a hand on the child´s mouth, smirking. "Tantei, you promised you wouldn´t interrupt." The child pouted a bit, her head leaning even more against the teen´s chest. Well, it´s not like she could do anything anyway, being held like a teddy bear and all. "Now, where was I?"

One day, when the moon threatened to shine in the always-cloudy sky, the princess decided to visit the museum. Disguising herself as a villager, the blue-eyed princess mixed with the crowd, completely unaware of the dangers.

At first, she happily enjoyed her visit, until she reached a heavily guarded room. Almost no one was allowed in, and then as she came closed, she heard the voice of inspector Nakamori, whose voice was louder than the midnight bell. "We must catch him tonight!" The man yelled, and Shinichi-hime found herself sneaking into the room. That smelled like adventure.

The room was rather large, and in the muddle, behind an iron cage surrounded by police officers, a beautiful red gem shone freely, ignoring the apparent threat she was in. For a moment, the Hime kept looking at it, before the lights suddenly went off and the room was submerged in darkness.

"No one moves!" The inspector stated, his voice suddenly wary. "Keep your positions no matter what!" The room fell silent for a moment, until the lights came back and she gasped in surprise. On top of the now split in half cage, a white cladded person held the beautiful red gem in his gloved hand, flashing a huge grin at the inspector.

"You are an idiot." The child suddenly stated, interrupting the narrator once again as she tried to escape from Kid´s arms. "Not only you made me into a princess, who know why, but you also added yourself and…"

"Tantei…" the teen warned, looking into her eyes both annoyed and amused, as he held her even closer. She was his teddy bear for the night… It was her fault she lost the bet. "A promise is a promise." Tantei sighed frustrated, closing her eyes as a sing for him to continue.

The white thief moved his hands and a pink smoke quickly covered the room in no time. One by one, the police officers fell towards the floor, and the thief walked out of the room proud of himself. After all, he managed to steal the Red Tear with ease… And as he walked towards the exist, he completely missed the figure quietly following him.

Unlike the officers, Hime held her breath in time, now walking after the thief curious. She had meet him once before, when he sunk into her room to steal the Sky Sapphire her family had protected for generation. Unluckily for him, the princess entered the room when he was about to escape, and the stapler in her hand had become a deadly weapon. Deadly indeed.

The thief had managed to escape in time, leaving the sacred gem behind, but not before bowing, gently kissing the furious princess in the cheek and leaving a red rose as he disappeared into the moonlight.

Burning as she remembered that night, Hime shook her head to forget it. There was no need to remember it… a stupid incident as that… she bet he didn´t remember. After all, from what she had read and heard about the thief, he was a womanizer.

It was only then, as she entered one more room, that something else aside from the thief caught her attention. It was the moon… full moon shone outside, the clouds long gone, and the princess found herself freezing, unable to do a thing. Not that she didn´t know what to do, but the amount of light her body had received was too high for her to run away, and before she knew it, a light filled the dark room, the body of a princess disappearing in place of a small curled cat.

"Great!" The princess thought, sighing annoyed. She had completely forgot to ask Ran, her personal attendant, about the moon cycle… and she usually was so careful about it… "Great! Now how will I get home?" Trying to find an answer, she didn´t even notice as someone approached her, until the said figure took her and lifted her up.

"A cat?" She heard the thief say, confused to no end. "How could a person turn into a cat?" Oh, he had seen the princess, whom was disguised as a villager, turn into a cat. "How did you turn into a cat, little lady?"

Flaming with indignity, Hime hit the thief with her paws, forcing him to let her go. "First of all, I am not little!" She started talking without thinking, having too much pride. "And second of all, why do you care? Go away with your stupid jewel before I call police!"

The thief stared at the cat even more surprised, his mind running thousand an hour as he tried to figure out exactly how the cat talked. That and the fact that voice seemed so well known, so desirable… "Princess?" He mumbled, blinking. No, it was impossible… his princess turned into a cat…? How was that possible…?

"Tantei?" The narrator suddenly stopped the history confused, looking at the child in his arms. By now, she would have interrupted him with a comment, but the child kept quiet all that time. Frowning, afraid she wasn´t feeling well, he almost fell down when he realized she was sleeping. Yes, the great detective was sleeping in his arms, her face half hidden in his chest.

Smiling, Kid carefully adjusted his sitting position so that he could sleep too, stroking Shinichi´s long hair. Their bet, which consisted in her catching him, was for her to stay with him for a few hours. Now, he would sleep with her! Yey, maybe he should make more bets with her…

"Good night, Shinichi-hime." Kid whispered into her ear, kissing her forehead.

The thief helped the princess with the curse that controlled her lives, and they fell in love and started dating… But that is a story for another time, Tantei.
