Declaimer: I don´t own Detective Conan
A/N: So, I am trying to short out all my stories, and I have plenty little ones that can be rather stupid. I don´t know what I´ve been thinking when I started writing most of them, but now I need to finish them. This is one of them. Enjoy. :)
Memories
"I don't know why I am writing this. I don't even know who I am sending this too… But I hope you know me, because I don't. Maybe if you do, can you tell me my name?"
"And sending…." A female nice voice resounded through the white room with only one bed, where a bandaged teen laid down, her blue eyes unfocused as she looked at the red phone. "Now, maybe if we get lucky someone will answer." The same voice said again, and a beautiful brown haired woman exited the room.
"Answer…?" The teen whispered, looking out-side the window absent minded. She had woken up that morning normally, ending up staring at an unknown room filled with strange people. They said she had been in an accident. However, she didn't remember it.
Actually, she couldn't remember a thing. When they asked for her name, she just reminded silent, wondering the same thing. From what the doctor said, she had amnesia, which resulted from the shock of almost dying. So after seeing she had her phone with her, they decided to send some people a message, wondering if they could help.
Back to the girl with amnesia, she kept looking out-side, her eyes strangely unfocused once again. She felt like she was forgetting something really important, aside from her name that is. "I wonder what…" She thought, picking up the red phone once again.
She had no memory of buying it, nor using it for that matter. However, it truly was hers, as she could easily dial the password without even thinking. "Sherlock…" Opening it to look inside, something urged her to access the calendar.
"Hm…" There was something she had planned to do on that day. Opening the small note, all she saw was an address and time. "Seven o´clock, Beika museum." It felt really important, but she couldn't say why….
Standing up from her bed, the longhaired girl with sapphire-blue eyes slowly made her way to the bathroom. Some of the nurses had forgotten to take her clothes away when they brought the phone. Her blue top had a bit of blood on it, but she ignored it and put it on quickly.
"Maybe if I go there…" Making her way out of the room, she opened the window and jumped down. She sure was lucky her room was on the first floor, or else there was no way she could have escaped. "Escaped? Escaped what?" She wondered, letting her long hair fall on top of the bloody area to hide it. The brown wavy hair was tick enough to hide it pretty well.
However, now that she was out-side, how would she get to the Beika Museum? It was almost seven o´clock, and she had no idea where she needed to go. Walking towards the exit, as it was pointed at the hospital map she had checked earlier, she decided to ask someone.
However, everyone was running somewhere, not even paying her attention. She still tried, but no one stopped, no one cared. Her blue eyes swept the crowd once, and she sighed. She needed to go… The time was running out, and for some reason her heart tightened.
Looking at her phone once again, she smiled as she noticed there was a map icon. And luckily, it told her exactly how she needed to move to reach that place. "Here I go." She mumbled, and took off; ignoring the fact that half of the hospital was looking for her fiercely, being followed by a couple of policeman.
The brown haired girl, who decided to call herself Shin for some reason, just kept walking and walking, her unfocused eyes unable to see people´s faces with clarity. They weren't important. Nothing was important, as her vacant mind slowly absorbed the colors. The were pretty, sparkling superficies reflecting the sunrays. And somehow, for a moment, it was all that mattered.
"Excuse me…" A voice called her, and Shin stopped, her expressionless face turning around to face two excited girls. "Are you by any chance Kudo Shinichi? Are you going to Kid´s heist now?" The teen didn't answer for a while, her mind trying to tell her something.
She had heard that name somewhere, Kid. She knew it, or was supposed to know; but instead of memories, it only brought her an incredible desire to see that person. Whoever Kid was, it was a person, and a person Shin seemed to long for a lot.
"I… Yes, that is me." She lied, smiling at the two exited strangers. She didn´t know that Kudo person, nor wanted to know; but if pretending to be her would allow her to see Kid, she didn´t mind faking it. "Are you also going to attend?" They had said it was a heist… was Kid a thief? In that case, what was Shin´s connection to him?
Or maybe, they had no connection… Maybe he was the person she admired from afar, and she never spoke to him… "Yes, we are." One of them stated, and they started to walk again, this time followed by Shin. Even if he didn´t know her, maybe seeing him would fill the strange gap in her heart. "Who would have thought we would meet the great detective here…"
Smiling again, her making sure she would remember that Kudo was a detective for future needs, Shin shifted her attention at the sky. It sure was beautiful… the red and blue mixed in a gorgeous shade of violet… Violet…
For a moment, she thought she saw sparkling violet eyes staring at her, their intensity making her gap and reach towards the sky. But as soon as they appeared, they were gone. "Kudo-san, is something wrong?" The other girl inquired, watching her confused. Shin smiled, looked at her, and smiled even more.
"Sorry, sorry… I was thinking…" Those eyes… she had known them, she longed for them, so that they would only look at her… But she didn´t know them now, they were as strange as the city she now walked by. They weren't real, at least not now…
Sighing, Shin decided to pick the pace up, knowing they would be late otherwise. She needed to know, she needed to see that Kid person for herself… Otherwise, she would start doing something she hadn't done until then: panic.
It was amazing how easily they allowed her in, even though they did pinch her cheek rather hard, who knows why. However, aside from that, she hadn't even need speak, as they instantly thought she was Kudo Shinichi. Apparently, that detective was pretty famous in Japan, especially Beika, for her amazing skills.
No one noticed the blood on her blouse, and she didn´t feel like showing it. Instead, she just hid in a corner, her eyes slowly moving from one point to another of the room, wondering why there were so many people. If they wanted to catch someone, wouldn´t it be easier to limit the number of people, and station all others in his possible escape routes? Yes, that would be easier…
The time slowly passed, while her blue eyes kept examining the room. For a moment, she thought she had seen violet eyes, those eyes she searched for… but it was only an illusion, a cruel light trick. Sighing, her eyes moved to the gem once again, as she allowed her thoughts to run freely.
For some reason, she didn't feel scared. She had no memories, she had no idea where she was… and yet, all she could think off was of finding Kid and violet eyes. It was strange, it was creepy… and yet, she didn´t care.
"I see you managed to come, Kudo." Turning her head, she watched as a blond haired teen approached her, his smile somehow tense. So he knew Kudo… "I thought you had a case today and couldn't come…"
Wondering how Kudo would answer, Shin only nodded; her eyes back to the gem again. Maybe if she ignored him, he would go away. "Hey, are you alright?" The teen asked again, and Shin turned her gaze at him once again, slightly annoyed. He was neither Kid nor had violet eyes, so she had no business with him.
"Yes…" Shin mumbled, and the strange teen took one-step back. Her eyes were rather calm, and yet so cold and emotionless… No, that wasn't the right word. They were dead, as if there was nothing in them. "Just thinking."
Once again, she turned away from the teen, who apparently was Hakuba Saguro. Now that was strange… When did Kudo start having that kind of eyes…? They usually were associated with dying or lost people, and Kudo was far from lost. He had called her that morning, wanting to know if she would be at the heist, that is after he remove the dye from his head and the girlish clothes; and she said she had a case.
Her voice had sounded rather worried, and he had heard traffic sounds through the phone. And yet, there she was… Strange, emotionless… and he had seen her the day before at Kaito´s, full of life. "If you say so…," he mumbled, leaving Kudo alone. Maybe something happened between her and Kaito? That would explain the dye and clothes… No, wait, that was because he called her cute…
Sighing, Hakuba just walked away, hopping Kid could arrive soon and talk with her. Hakuba had an important meeting just one hour away, so he really needed Kid to go easy on him that day…
Soon, the time came… and Shin quickly noticed the mood change. Everyone in the room became tense all out sudden, and she didn´t like it. Especially went the lights went off, and the room was submerged into darkness.
"Don´t move!" A person in black yelled, Shin turning around in the middle of the street only to stare at a strange man dressed in black, who pointed at her a silver gun, glaring with disgust. "You will die today, Kudo Shinichi!"
Black. She didn´t like the blackness, it made her feel sick. Black, everything around her was black. Heart racing miles an hour, Shin stumbled forward, trying to escape the dark. Her stomach swirled, fear took over her as she searcher for a door. She need to escape, find a light, anything…
There was movement behind her, but she didn´t turn around, opening the door despite the warning someone tried to mumble. Her shacking body, the increasing fear made her stumble forward and walk towards the light, even if it was the only light in the whole room.
Shin heard commotion behind her, but her ears quickly tuned out the sound. She didn't care… all she needed to do was run, run away…
"Is she the one?" A voice mumbled in the darkness, as a teen slowly woke up from her slumber, her hands tied behind her back. She could hear someone approach her, and her heart raced unhappy. She had expected her day to start another way…
"Yes, she is…" The cold and emotionless voice almost startled her, but she pretended to be asleep, her hands moving from time to time when she knew no one was looking. Well, at least she had her six sense to help at such times…
The corridor, which lighted up, startled the longhaired teen, whose body finally stopped shacking… only to make her want to puke. She had no other choice but to run towards nowhere, trying to repress the sudden feeling. Her head was hurting like crazy, promising to split out as memories and pictures she didn´t know jumped from time to time.
Black people chasing her… reaching for her… crowds flying, red, bloody red, silver… "Oh no…" Opening a door, she leaned forward to puke, but nothing came out. Her stomach contracted itself, but there was nothing inside of it. However, that didn´t stop the horrible feeling…
Shin hated silver hair… and those hateful green-yellow eyes. She didn't know to whom they belonged to, but her mind grew numb of fear as she thought of them.
Finally able to free her hands, the teen froze in the darkness. Someone was approaching her, fast as a lightning, and she knew whom it wasn't without even seeing. Opening her eyes, only to be greeted with a gun, she slowly mumbled. "Gin."
Yes, Gin… the person she hated, the person she feared… his was names Gin. Putting her hands around her, trying to stop the trembles, which took over her, she hid her face. That man terrified her to no end, and she felt like she didn´t want to know the reason. "Calm down…" she mumbled, holding back the tears.
"Finally…" Gin mumbled, and the teen stood up. There was no need to pretend anymore… He knew that her hands were free. "Finally, the day I kill you arrived." His grin widened, and the gun went out.
"NO!" Shin yelled, seeing, feeling, the gun scratch her face. "No, no, no, no…" She didn't want to know anymore! She didn't need her memories… Not when they were so terrifying! "No…" The transparent tears ran down her cheeks, and the horrified blue eyes shot up when someone opened the door. In her mind, she prayed it wasn´t that man.
Blue met violet, but she didn't react. Her mind was filled with fear of silver, and for a moment, she only stared at them, trying to make sure they weren't the color she feared. "T-tantei?" The owner of those eyes mumbled, and Shin relaxed.
No, that wasn´t Gin… His voice was crueler, not kind or worried. If only he never found her… "Tantei, what is wrong?" As sudden as he appeared, the stranger quickly pulled her up, holding her near with worry. Something was wrong, since Tantei never shouted like that. It was as if she feared something…
"Tantei?" Shin mumbled, her body finally listening to her. She needed to calm down, and then find a way to return to the hospital… Maybe they knew a way to never regain her memories. "I am not Tantei, I am Shin." She mumbled, staring completely serious into his violet eyes. Now that she saw them clearly, they sure reminded her of something…
The strangers face grew darker, and worrier, if that is even a word, as he leaned forward to stare at her. "Tantei, stop joking… I received a strange text from you and you never appeared at our meeting place." Her head just titled to the left, and confusion took residence on her face. "Shinichi, what is wrong?"
The stranger dressed in white shook Shin, but she refused to look into his eyes. They brought memories, or at least tried; and she didn't want them. It meant she would remember all the other things she didn´t want to… "I am not Shinichi, I am Shin."
Blinking, confused as hell, the white thief picked her up like a princess, running towards the roof quickly. He could hear as she complained, but he wasn´t paying attention. Tantei was behaving strangely and he had noticed the blood on her shirt. So maybe that strange text wasn´t that strange and something happened to Tantei… and she lost her memories. "Don´t worry, Shinichi." Kid said, opening the door to the roof. "Everything will be alright."
"I´m not…" The girl tried to complain, closing her eyes as a sudden memory hit her. It was… she had… wanted to remember, but she didn´t want to remember. Something said she had to, and yet a part of her wished to start everything anew.
"Idiot thief, stop calling me Shin-chan!" She complained while looking at the white cladded phantom, glaring. "Or you call me by my name, Shinichi, or else I´ll sent you to jail." She didn´t believe she would be able to do it, but even so, she could always threaten him.
"My darling Meitantei." The white thief bowed and kissed her hand, a red flower replacing the red diamond. "I am just a poor thief, but if you wish, I will become whatever you need. Just call my name the next time they come after you, and I´ll fly to your side, Shin-chan."
"Okay, I might be Shinichi." The girl admitted and sighed, feeling her body relax. They were still at the rooftop, his eyes on hers. They were… violet. She was looking for them. "I found you." She mumbled, lifting her hand to look at them closer. She knew them, and their owner knew her.
Blinking, Kid put the confused detective down, not moving as she help his face close, her blue eyes on his. "Ah… Tantei, what´s wrong? What do you remember?" By the content of the message he deduced she lost her memory, but the extent of it worried him.
"My name is… Shinichi." She said, not looking away. "I remember violet eyes and a white thief. I know them, for some reason. I remember… darkness, Gin, he wanted to kill me and… I…" The hands around his face started to shake, more and more before the phantom pulled her into a thigh hug, cursing.
"They are gone, Shinichi. He is gone, the darkness is gone, they won´t ever hurt you again." He had made sure of it. And so did FBI and Japanese Police. "Calm down. I´m going to take you to hospital, they will examine you and then we can do something about your memories. Trust me."
They were gone. The crows disappeared and would never chase her again. Smiling slightly, Shinichi nodded. "I trust you…" She wasn´t sure why, but she did trust him, more than she trusted herself. "I came from a hospital. I remembered I needed to be somewhere and came here."
Kid narrowed his eyes slightly, wondering why, even when she lost her memories, she escaped hospitals. "Everything will be alright, Tantei. I´ll make sure of it."
"Kaito, for goddess sake, stop ruining my kitchen." Shinichi cried as she walked in the kitchen, scared even to look at what he did. "What the… KAITO!" The young adult grinned and escaped, afraid Shin-chan would hit him. He only wanted to prepare some dinner for his lovely detective. "One more time… if I see you here again, you´ll sleep at the sofa."
Tantei giggled for some reason and closed her eyes. "Don´t ruin my kitchen, idiot." The thief stared at her surprised, smiling as he realized she was starting to remember, when he noticed that she had fallen asleep. Shaking his head, the thief jumped from the roof, bringing her back to the hospital.
They were sitting at a roof, holding hands, but without saying a thing. There wasn´t such to say. The organization had been destroyed; their lives would soon go back to normal. However, there was nothing normal in their lives. "Tantei, stay with me…" Kid whispered, not letting her hand go. They had started dating two months ago, and yet in reality they hadn´t even meet. Kudo Shinichi didn´t know Kuroba Kaito, they had never talked, looked at each other or even saw a photo… Their relationship didn´t exist…
Making a decision, Kid stood up. "Kudo Shinichi." He called, shocking the detective as he took his disguise off. "I´m Kuroba Kaito and I fell in love with you at first sight. I know this is sudden, since we only met, but could you go out with me?"
Blinking, taken by surprise, Shinichi laughed at his embarrassed expression. It was nothing like the last time he asked her out, as Kid, when he just grinned and said he wanted her to be his. "Hello Kuroba-kun." She said and stood up. "Actually, I fell in love with you too. I think I like you a lot. It would be a pleasure to go out with you."
One second passed and they started to laugh, though Shinichi suspected Kid had cried… but that was stupid, it was only a product of her imagination. "I like you a lot."
Omake:
Shinichi was lying bored at the hospital bed, frowning annoyed. By the time she woke up almost all her memories came back, and Kaito made it his personal hobby to remind her of those she had forgotten on purpose. Who wanted to remember that they had mistaken a person for their father and hugged them from behind? Oh, she so wanted to forget that.
"The accident was caused by a criminal that wanted Kudo gone." Sato-san said, reading the information she had written on her notebook. "Apparently you destroyed his life and bla, bla… You hit really hard the floor when the car hit you, and that was the cause of your temporary loss of memory. But it sure is strange. Even though you forgot everything else you still went to Kid´s heist. I never knew you were such a fan…"
Blushing, the girl wanted to hit her boyfriend. Why couldn't he have a normal hobby like everyone else. "She is a big, BIG fan." Kaito suddenly said, coming in with her dinner. "She goes to all his heists and I even heard her say once she liked him. No, I think she said she lo…"
A pillow was thrown Kaito´s way and hit him right in the face. "I decided. Once I´m out of here, I´ll burry you." Her face was as red as humanly possible, the glare so cold and angry even Sato felt afraid. The magician shouldn´t have said that… No he shouldn´t…
"Well, I need to go now so…" Sato ran out of the door, leaving them alone for the time being, not noticing how Kaito smirked and approached the still enraged detective.
"Oh, and here I though you did love me…" He complained, locking her hand with his. "After all, I love you, my darling only Meitantei. What should I do now that you don´t love me?" Glaring at him once again, Shinichi sighed and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Shut up, stupid, idiot thief." Her voice mumbled weakly and she smiled. "I love you, my white phantom."
A/N: I will be honest... I don´t remember what I wrote earlier and what I promised to write... I will add one regarding the chapter 15, but I can´t remember anything else. If I promised you I would write something, just PM me and I´ll do it. My memory had been getting really bad lately.
Thank you for reading this little stories, I hope you´ll keep liking them. My goal is to make 100 of them... so this will be continuing for a long time. XD
Love and Kisses,
Kaggami-chan
