After Santana breaks up with Brittany she decides that she needs a completely new scenery. She moves to New York where her life changes in a blink of an eye.

Santana stayed up all night crying and laid on her bed heartbroken after calling it quits with Brittany. It was inevitable as Santana was going back and forth from Louisville to Lima and not able to be the best girlfriend she could be. Brittany started getting closer to Sam and they became a thing which only help break Santana and her up. The brunette made a decision to leave from both places and follow two of her old classmates to New York. As the afternoon approached, Santana's mother decided to check on her daughter.

"Santana mija" Maribel knocked but no answer "Its way too late for you to be in bed, im coming in"

Maribel walked in the room and saw the mess of photos in the latina's trash bin and memories of her daughter's girlfriend on the floor. Maribel knew something was wrong with her daughter. She sat on the edge of the bed and asked Santana what happened.

Grabbing a few photos off the floor she looks at her sad daughter "Santana what happened last night?'

"Nothing mom" Santana replies

Worried she stares at her "Cmon mija, this isn't nothing. Did you and Brittany get in a fight?"

The cheerio can't help but hug her mother and cry her eyes out "Oh mom we broke up, and it's all my fault! If I wouldn't have left we would still be together, if I wouldn't have left Brittany would have never got close to Sam" She cried out "I can't see these pictures anymore so I threw them away, I lost her and I am the dumbest girl in the world"

Maribel held her daughter close and let her cry all her tears out, she hated seeing this heartbreak on her daughter and not being able to do anything about it. All she knew to do was to be there holding her and wiping away her tears. After she could feel her daughter be calm again she decided to speak to her "Santana baby you are not in any way dumb, unfortunately things like this happens but you didn't do anything wrong. For now your chapter with Brittany is closed but that doesn't mean the its time to close the book. You both are so young and so much life is waiting for you, it might feel like the end of the world but I promise that this will make you stronger. My beautiful daughter your heart will mend, its going to take some time though." Santana looked up at her mom with a smudged face "aren't you supposed to say mean things about Brittany and how I'll find someone better?" Maribel smiled "oh honey I couldn't bring myself to say mean things of her, even though I know you're in pain. But I will say that she lost the greatest love of her life."

The next morning Santana decided that although she was incredibly sad, she needed to tell her mom about the decision she made the night of the break up.

"Hey mama" the brunette walked in the kitchen

"Hello baby, I see you are feeling a bit better" Maribel kissed the top of Santana's head

"Yeah just a bit mom, but uh I wanted to tell you that I have a plan of what to do next" Santana said with a bit of excitement and a bit of fear

Maribel took a sip of her coffee then looked towards her daughter "really? And what plan would that be?"

Santana grabbed her mother's hand and blurted out her plan "I want to go to New York!" Maribel's eyes went wide "New York? What do you mean New York?" Santana now afraid speaks "yea yeah mom, I think it's a great opportunity for me I mean I do want to pursue music and maybe acting? But either way it will be a good thing"

"Okay go mija, just know that I will miss you and I might even show up unannounced"

"Thank you mami" Santana hugged her mother tight with so much love

Santana goes to the store to pick up a few last things that she needs for her move which would be the next day. As she starts to arrive home she notices a few cars that seem awfully familiar. She ignores them and decides to enter her house, once she opens the door a huge sea of faces shout at her "Surprise!"

"Holy shit!" Santana screamed

Maribel shouts back "Santana watch your language" Santana giggles as she is welcomed by her family and friends that are there to send her away to her new life. Maribel invited all her daughters' friends and even a few that she was not speaking too. Santana really felt the love but once she noticed Brittany things got really awkward and decided to go over to her mother to ask why she would even think of inviting her ex-girlfriend. The Latina approaches her mother making sure she is not causing a scene "mother why would you invite Brittany?" Santana's mom just hugged her "She has been your friend longer than anyone, it wouldn't be right for you to leave and not have closure. You will not be comfortable in New York without speaking to her and saying goodbye"

As the party went on the brunette realized that her mother is right about her closure with Brittany and she will have her final goodbye with the blonde before the party is over. Just as she thought that she was ready to speak to the dancer another blonde pulled her away.

"Sorry but I haven't been able to talk to you at all"

"Oh my gosh Quinn are you trying to pull my arm off?"

"Geez San, I'm not that strong. But anyways I am sorry about your break up why didn't you tell me?"

Santana looked at Quinn and shrugged her shoulders "Honestly I don't even know how to handle it let alone telling people" Quinn grabbed her friends hand "well I am always here for you, I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I can't help but tell you that I am also a bit happy this happened" The brunette tensed up a bit "woah San, I don't want to make you upset I just need to tell you something that I have been holding in for a very long time" Quinn took a deep breath and proceeded to make her confession "I have always wanted you Santana, I pushed the feelings away and when I decided that what I was feeling was real you were dating Brittany. I don't know maybe im stupid for waiting so long to tell you but I guess better late than never right? You probably don't feel the same but I just needed to tell you to get this off my chest."

The former cheerio was in shock because another blonde that would catch her eye just showed her true feelings that she never thought would ever exist. She didn't know how to feel especially with a fresh break up and the fact that she is moving in less than a day. Santana couldn't help but be a little intrigued with the idea of her and Quinn, but she most certainly had a lot of reservations. With all these thoughts running through her head she forgot that Quinn was waiting for her to say something. The green eyed girl in front of her sat nervously for any type of response.

Santana snapped back to life "Quinn I don't know what to say, except that you know I will be on a plane tomorrow to live in New York? If I were to stay in Lima then maybe I would still be with Britt, like what is it that you want?"

"You're so silly, I obviously want a chance. I know you're leaving but so am I. Seems like Yale is still in store for me so I'll be in New Haven next semester. It seems so bizarre to even be here right now telling you this but believe me when I say that I really do have strong feelings."

The brunette smiled sweetly "Q, I am very flattered and I hope you understand when I state that I need time to think about everything you just said and the other stuff that's going on in my head."

"Of course Santana but just so you know that I usually get what I want" The blonde winked at her friend and walked away leaving Santana impressed with that last statement from Quinn.

Brittany saw that Santana was now sitting alone and decided to break the tension "Hey San, um I can't believe you are leaving" as she said those words she pulled up a chair to sit next to the Latina.

"Huh? Oh yeah, sorry I'm just a bit out of it. I wanted to talk to you and tell you that I am very glad you came to say bye."

"I'm glad I came too but I don't want to say bye but I don't really have a choice. I want to say that even with us breaking up I love you so much and-"

Santana interrupted Brittany "No Britt I can't hear those words right now. I just wanted to say that I will miss you and I hope you are happy. At this moment those are the last few words I will say to you including goodbye"

As she walked away from her ex-girlfriend the guilt was killing her, she didn't want to be so mean especially to Brittany but she had to protect her feelings and look forward to what the future holds. New York was so close and she wanted to leave her heartbreak, feelings, and Brittany behind in Lima without any worries.

Santana flies to New York the following day arriving to the big apple and the first thing she has to do is convince Rachel and Kurt to let her stay with them. As she approaches the door she couldn't help but here her former classmates singing along to the Funny Girl movie, with that she stopped dead in her tracks rethinking her next move. Being a sassy Latina she couldn't help but roll her eyes and say to herself "oh gosh what am I doing? Am I really going to live with these two they will drive me crazy." Nonetheless she really didn't have a choice or anywhere else to go. The brunette still needed Rachel and Kurt to say yes she could move in. There was nothing left to do but knock and hope for the best.
