Poseidon blinked.
He was not in Atlantis.
He was not in Olympus.
He was… in a bus. A mortal bus. Filled with children and not enough adults to handle these hellions (and yes, Poseidon would admit children are hellions. His own includes. Actually, especially his children. Even Rhode can be pain to deal with when she's upset and she is the nicest of his children.
Poseidon still love them)
Why he was here?
He coughed. Trying to draw attention.
No one turned to him.
Feeling annoyed, he was about to open his mouth, when something sailed the air and landed on a curly head.
It was not the action, the one who did the deed, or the target. But the one who sat next to the target.
After all, how could Poseidon forget his own face? Granted, one that he would see in mirror if he assumes the form of a pre-adolescent, toned down the divinity a lot, and add bit of mortal imperfection. But those eyes? Definitely his.
"I'm going to kill her."
"It's okay." The child—no. A Satyr. "I like peanut butter."
In his hair?! Poseidon thought with disgust. Even Pan on his most drunken state (may he could be found and quickly) doesn't have such a bad taste.
The Satyr dodge another missile.
"That is."
The Satyr did some damage run. "You're already on probation," he reminds, "you know who'll get blamed if anything happens."
That did not mean those eyes did not glare hatefully.
The same glare Poseidon had for when Hermes and Apollo's prank are a bit on to the nose.
"Percy?" Poseidon asked, and silently chides himself. Of course it was his Percy. His son. His immortal heart leap to his throat.
Percy resembles him a great deal. Too much for liking… because it means his brothers would know Poseidon had broke the oath and it means Percy's life will be in danger. A Hero's Tale never ends well.
(Unless their names are Perseus and/or Odysseus. Then it was different case)
Poseidon was reaching out for his son, but find his hand passing through like mist.
Dream? Vision?
Does Gods get this?
Unsure of the nature of… whatever this is… Poseidon can only watch. Watch as Percy tries to hold himself from pummeling the bitch till she learn her place while trying to protect his satyr. Watch as Percy tries to learn more about the Greek Myth—their world—but the ugly bitch and ADHD makes it difficult.
Poseidon notice one of the teachers in wheelchair is Chiron. In his usual mortal disguise. The other one though… he thinks he saw her before but where…?
"Will you shut up?!"
And here, his son snapped.
Unfortunately for him, he spoke too loud in too silent gallery. And got himself the spotlight. Percy turned red as Chiron asks if he has something to say and deny it.
"Perhaps you'll tell us what this picture represents?" Chiron pointed to a Stele.
Poseidon look at the picture and groaned.
"Chiron. Of all painting and story, why it has to be that one?"
"That's Kronos eating his kids, right?"
"Technically that was when my dear old dad is about to swallow Rock-Zeus." Poseidon tried to not remember the literal dark times. Good things. Funny things. Focus on anything but darkest part of his history. "Though how could he mistake a baby with a rock… either my baby brother is like a rock when he was baby, or he was dead drunk with assurance that mother won't fight him and other stuff."
"Yes," Chiron egged on. "And he did this because…"
"Well…" Percy is rather adorable when his face is all scrunched up trying to remember his lesson. "Kronos was the king god, and—"
"Son. Please. That thing and I are both immortals but I rather not get lumped in the same category as that monster." Poseidon pleaded.
"Titan," Good. "And… he didn't trust his kids, who were the gods. So, um, Kronos ate them, right?"
Poseidon closes his eyes and reminds himself that he was free. He was not inside that prison. He was free.
"But his wife hid baby Zeus, and gave Kronos a rock to eat instead. And later, when Zeus grew up, he tricked his dad, Kronos, into barfing up his brothers and sisters—"
"Eeew!"
"Try being the one barfed out." Poseidon shuddered in disgust. Internally thanking the fate that he landed in the ocean. That washed out most of the vomit.
"—and so there was this big fight between the gods and the Titans, and the gods won."
"A bit too simplified, but you are not wrong here." Poseidon stated. "Not that you need to know the details. It was pain in the ass and hopefully I don't have to see dear ol Father ever again. The paintings are more than enough source of nightmares already."
He's going to hate enclosed space for next few months. Or years. Being trapped in that damnable stomach is ground for claustrophobia.
Thankfully it was just short chit-chat afterwards, then lunch. (Ugh. Who could stomach food after that story? Mortals.) Poseidon watch how Percy and his Satyr guard sat next to fountain and having bit of discussion. Frowned when the Satyr seemingly try to deny the existence of Magic, or just keeping Percy in the dark.
Which, weird. There's Chiron over there. Surely nothing can go wro—
That uppity twat come again and anger Percy enough that he use his power to grab her into the fountain.
…or maybe the Satyr had brightest idea to keep Percy out from the world.
Poseidon glanced above. Zeus haven't strike him down yet so… still good? Hope someone distracts him from seeing Percy. Anyone would do.
But the other teacher watch and practically order Percy to follows her (this one cannot be human).
Poseidon nearly have heart attack when he saw the creature shed its human disguise.
"Hades!" He wailed. Great. He was so preoccupied with how Zeus will react that he practically forgot about his elder brother. His Elder Brother who sends all three of Furies and practically whole pack of Hellhound after Zeus' daughter.
Damn it!
Poseidon tried to block the Fury, but she passed him like he was smoke—curse this, whatever this it!
The only good side is Chiron wheeled inside and throw Percy a blade—
DOES PERCY EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE WEAPON?!CHIRON! THERE'S A KID WITH SHARP THING! DON'T JUST WATCH! DO SOMETHING!
Percy took a panicked stance (a part of Poseidon that is Neptune tsked at the immature form "need so much training to correct that" and mentally devised said training plan) and as Percy swung it down—
Poseidon opens his eyes to the ceiling of his room in Atlantis.
